Two broken hearts. One fake dating agreement. What could go wrong?

Lucie thought she had it all—a loving fiancé, a nice apartment, and a job she was great at. But that all changed the day she walked in on her perfect fiancé screwing his personal trainer on her newly purchased dream sofa. Three months later, she’s bunking with her best friend and scrambling to make sense of her life sans cheating ex.

Theo is about to jet off for a long weekend in picturesque Scotland to be the best man at his brother’s wedding. With stunning views and nothing but free food and drinking ahead, he should be more excited than he is. If only he didn’t have feelings for the damn bride.

When fate throws Lucie and Theo together under unlikely circumstances, they bond over doughnuts and their mutually disastrous love lives … and it seems like they might be able to help each other out. As long as they both stick to the rules, there’s nothing that can go wrong.

I am a traditionally published and Indie author that hails from sunny England (I lie, it's not really that sunny here!) I'm a hopeless romantic, so of course my main writing focus is romance. I love to create swoon-worthy males that steal your breath! I write mature YA, new adult and contemporary romance novels.

As well as being a writer I'm also an avid reader, mum to one little boy, proud chocoholic and an absolute beast at Lego PlayStation games.

If I had to sum myself up in one word, it would probably be 'daydreamer' - but unlike most of my school teachers, I don't necessarily view that as a bad thing. After all, I read somewhere once that books are like waking dreams...

I really enjoyed it, but…

This review contains some spoilers, please proceed with caution.

4 Stars is good, so I really did enjoy this story, but sitting here writing this review, I’m doing the dreaded overthinking it. Bear with me as I try to explain what’s going through my head. (I’ve hidden the most spoilery bits.)

Stand-In Saturday is a light and fluffy read. The cover is cute and perky, the storyline is filled with humour, and the romance, while a slow burn, is still well-paced. The problem is that a part of the storyline has a very sinister feel to it, and because it’s a light and fluffy read, was almost skimmed over.

Phew, got that off my chest.

Now, I really did enjoy Love For Days, #2, and thought the romance between Lucie and Theo was sweet, sexy, and eventually, something I believed would go the distance. The storyline was captivating, the characters were lovable, and the sexy times were HOT! I could not read this story fast enough and dreaded every moment that drew me away from reading.

I did struggle a little with how long it took Theo to express his feelings and the absolute shock Lucie experienced when he did eventually share those sentiments. Obviously, I had the ‘birds-eye’ view AND a glimpse of both their feelings, but still, how could she not ‘see’ it? Bloody twit. 😉

I started Stand-In Saturday with a smile on my face and finished delighted with Lucie and Theo’s journey to happiness. Yes, a couple of things didn’t sit right with me, but Kirsty Moseley distracts you so thoroughly, that you don’t see the problem until hours later. I can only guess that the issues I had weren’t dealt with more thoroughly because this wasn’t that type of book. But, I’m only guessing – or – I overthought it … which is probably the case.

I will definitely be reading more from this author in the future, and fingers crossed Aubrey’s book - Fangirl Friday still goes ahead. I got a notification from Amazon that my order had been cancelled, so I’m hoping it’s just a delay and not a complete cancellation. I’m eager for more Love For Days.

4.5 out of 5 stars!

Three pm is wine o'clock by my count!

🍩 Fake dates, Legit swoons!

Holy doughnuts! 🍩 This beautiful book is definitely one of those stories that you just don't ever want to stop. Keep the swoons coming. I have officially added Kirsty mother-freaking Moseley on my great list of favorite romance-writing authors! I loved the shit out of Man Crush Monday, and I feel the same (if not more) for this one.

If you want a book filled with legitimate doses of swoons and good vibes, then I implore you, I compel you, to get your hands on this one, STAT!

Theo Stone is charismatic and charming as hell. Melts*

All I want to say is, if you're a romance junkie looking for your next light and feel good read, then you should really read this.

p.s. I am normally not a fan of TikToks but Theo and Lucie's TikTok shenanigans (especially their Flip the Switch entry) are absolutely hilarious and epic. 4.5 stars!!! 🍩

*I was kindly sent this in exchange for an honest review from the Author*
Someone needs to call 999 because I just died. I think my heart actually stopped when reading this. Is it possible to give something for than 5 stars?
I don't even know where to begin. Perfection is impossible to describe with words other than Eek, Ahh and swoon.
I knew going into this that I would adore Theo... But boy was that the understatement of the millennium. He is my dream guy. Funny, charismatic and cutely nerdy. Don't even get me started on the fact he can draw. I'm glad I was on a kindle because there was a lot of drooling happening and I'd really like to keep all my paperbacks drool free thanks.
Lucie was such an amazing balance between vulnerable and yet desperate to let her snazzy side out. Reading her made me smile, like I was talking to a best friend.
Obviously, no surprise to anyone Kirsty's writing was as outstanding as ever and had me crying (both happy and sad tears but mainly lots of happy tears) The humour as always had me in hysterics - my mum came to check I wasn't choking to death because she heard my wheezing laughter from the other side of the house.... Yeah, Theo is that funny.
As a very proud Scottish girl I adored that this was partly set in Scotland - Nothing I read is ever set in Scotland and it just made me love it even more (even if her weather expectations are a little in accurate haha)
The plot is to die for. Fake dating is always an amazing trope and this did not disappoint.
So yeah, in summary I clearly hated this book a lot... SIKE!! I adored it. Everyone needs to read this book. Preorder it now!! You won't be sorry!!To conclude, this was awesome. Automatic fave of the year. All the thoughts have made me a little delirious with joy and excitement and sadness and all the feels. I can't wait for Fangirl Friday. I need it now. Thank you for coming to my TED talk ❤

OH. MY. GOODNESS. This is one story that you honestly must not miss!! Stand-In Saturday is EPIC!! PHENOMENAL!! And I seldom use those words in my reviews! I haven’t laughed out loud so much whilst reading a rom-com in years and whilst the humour in this story is one of the things I adore about this book, there is one other that definitely needs a mention… and that is Theo Stone.

Let’s chat about my new hubby for a moment 😉 Theo is AH-MAZ-ING!! This guy has it all! He’s good looking, fun, friendly, kind, caring, considerate and as sexy as hell! He’s got the best bits of every single man out there and I know that the author has ruined me for always. With the turn of each page I handed over another piece of my heart to Theo and I don’t think I’m ever going to get it back!

For all I want to stake my claim on Theo, it seems there is a lady who has caught his eye and whereas you’d have thought I’d be heartbroken about this, I’m actually not. Why? Well Luciella Gordio is another incredible person and if I could bring her to life, I’d ensure she was my best friend. We all want the best for our best friends and Theo and Lucie couldn’t be more suited for each other. I know they are perfect together and I’m certain once you meet this couple you will confirm this too, but whilst there may be a mutual attraction and they are getting along so well, their hearts seem to belong elsewhere and that’s a problem.

Lucie and Theo are a match made in heaven. They have this fabulous connection and the chemistry between them is off the charts!! The sexual tension in this book will have you needing a cold shower at times but what I am certain you will love most about them, is their witty banter and fun-loving personalities.

I connected instantly with the characters and was hooked from the very first chapter. This story ticks all of my boxes and I am possibly one of the fussiest and pickiest readers on the planet. I must admit that there was nothing that I didn’t love about this book. All the characters we meet in this fabulous story are perfect in my opinion; you may find one that you take a dislike to, but that added another emotional element to this wonderful story.

I could honestly rave about this story all day…. it is that good!! You are able to read Theo and Lucie’s story as a standalone but I must say that you will have already met many of the characters that appear in this book previously in Man Crush Monday, which is the first book in the Love for Days series. Man Crush Monday is an incredible story too and I’d recommend that you read that book first because not only will you be missing out on Amy and Jared’s story but if you go back to read it after Stand-In Saturday, you’ll also miss out on experiencing the WOW moment due to already knowing what happens.

Stand-In Saturday is one of those books that I would love to award more than five stars to. I’m absolutely loving this Love for Days series and I hope this isn’t the last we will see of all these fabulous characters that I have come to know and love.

Holy. Crow. On. A. Stick. Where do I signup for my own personal Theo?? Swoon. Epic swoon.

My advice to start with about Stand-In Saturday, run, do not walk, RUN to one-click this book NOW!! Best book I have read of 2020. Is it possible to give a book ten stars? No, more? Let me give it as many as I can.

I am a first-time reader of Kirsty Mosley and I am hooked like no other. I will be running like the wind to read ALL of her other books. Just an FYI.

Anywho, Lucie and Theo appear to be total opposites but they are anything but opposites. They are so stinkin’ cute together and have this amazing chemistry. There is literally not a bad thing I can say about Lucie or Theo. They are just the best characters I have read so far. I was not looking forward to the book ending. Anyone, Lucie’s ex is a real piece of work and I would like to punch the lights outta him but naturally, I cannot.

Overall, this “fake” relationship romance is very well written and will grab your attention from the get-go. Both Lucie and Theo are very easy to love and I could not find a better “fake” couple in a book if I tried.

Stand-In Saturday is most definitely worth the one-click!! So RUN to grab that gem NOW!!!

Stand In Saturday is the second standalone book in Kirsty Moseley’s Love For Days Series. If you've previously read Kirsty’s Man Crush Monday you will have already met Theo and this is his book.

Any of my reading friends that know me know that Ashton from Kirsty’s NLTL is my absolute favourite book boyfriend ever, well Theo is that amazing he gives Ashton a run for his money and that is huge!

Lucie is a brilliant character and I loved how she met Theo! We see more characters from Man Crush Monday in this book even Nanna- I love her!
Stand In Saturday is laugh out loud funny from start to finish and as I finished I had happy tears in my eyes. It’s the best book I’ve read in a long time!

Kirsty Moseley knocks it out the park with this 5-star read. A wildly funny, laugh out loud, beautiful story. Theo is pure nerdy, hot perfection, and everyone needs a Lucie to be their best friend. You really root for these two. Their enchanting, goofy love story is such a fun ride, my cheeks ached from smiling so hard. This series is a must for everyone who likes to laugh while falling head over heels in love with the characters.

Well. Kirsty’s gone and done it again! Another 5 star read for me, with all the feels and lots of laugh out loud moments (literally). This was such a fun read, with wonderful characters, some of who, if you’ve read book 1 in the Love for Days series, Man Crush Monday, you will already know. Fake dating is one of my favourite tropes, and Theo and Lucie fake it in the best possible way. No lies or deceit, they’re both upfront with themselves and they don’t particularly lie about what they are to each other either, which makes the story so much more believable. The chemistry between them is palpable, their interactions are fun, flirty and oh so sexy. Even though they both think they’re in love with other people, I knew from the bottom of my heart that they were meant to be. Theo is just adorable, completely swoon worthy, caring, and forever the perfect gentleman. Lucie is just the right amount of sweet and funky with a little bit of girl next door. I was hooked from the get-go, the writing (perfect), the characters (adorable), and the main setting (who doesn’t love Scotland?) I will stress that this is a stand-alone story, and you do not need to have read book 1, but why the heck would you not want to read it, it’s a wonderful introduction into what I know is going to be one of my favourite series, and Stand-in Saturday confirms that fact. I received an advanced copy of this book. This is my honest review.

“I didn’t know what love was until I met you.”

As soon as I finished reading Man Crush Monday, I was excited about Theo's book. I felt a little sorry for him when his brother got his happy ending, and I wanted the same for Theo. And Kirsty Moseley didn’t disappoint! This book is exactly what a perfect rom-com should be- it's filled with lought-out-loud moments and swoon-worthy scenes. It's a heartwarming story about two people with broken hearts, who find a real happiness in each other's arms. But before that happens, these two must clear their heads and open their hearts. And this journey was absolutely amazing!

Theo will sweep you off your feet! This sexy, nerdy and funny guy is instantly loveable and believe me when I say that I had a permanent heart-eyes when it comes to this man. He’s so thoughtful and caring, but he’s also not to mess with, because if you’ll treat his loved ones badly, he’s gonna rip you a new one. He’s super protective in addition to being sweet, playful and entertaining.

Lucie is straight-up awesome. Full of sass and feistiness, she gives as much as she gets. She’s vibrant and I loved when her Italian temper showed up. This girl is smart and witty, and honestly I couldn’t think about more perfect match for Theo.

Their meet-cute was hilarious and their chemistry was instantly palpable. And although their whole ‘relanshionship’ started as an arrangement that was supposed to benefit both of them, in the end they were given so much more. I just loved their dynamic, how chill and easy they were together and how intense their passion was. Theo and Lucie are #CoupleGoals, for real!

Stand-In Saturday is a funny, feel-good romance that will make your face hurt from laughing and your heart burst at its seams from emotions. Kirsty Moseley delivered such an entertaining and heartfelt story that I devoured it in the blink of an eye. It’s flirty, humorous and incredibly steamy. I’m obsessed with the Love for Days series and I’m impatiently waiting for the next book!

This didn't work for me.
The Hero and his brother are twins and he thinks he's in love with his brother's fiancé.
I'm not keen on this troupe but I thought I'd try it.
The first couple of chapters the Hero is thinking how much he fancies his brother's girl, while he with her watching TV.
Then later the drama with the heroine's ex was OTT.

I received (= won) an ARC of this book and this is my voluntarily, honest review of it.

OMG! I loved this story!! It was just what I needed in these stressful times. A story that had me smiling from the start till the end! It was so funny and entertaining!

The writer Kirsty Moseley started this series (Love for days) with the book ‘Man Crush Monday’ where we met Jared and Amy and where we also met Jared’s brother Theo (the main character in this story). I enjoyed ‘Man Crush Monday’ very much. Jared and Amy were great characters and the story was very entertaining. So my hopes and expectations for the second book were high and I’m so glad that the writer met all of my expectations for this story and even gave me more!

‘Stand-in Saturday’ is the second book in the series and if you really want to, it can be read as a standalone. That’s not a problem but I would recommend that you start with the first book. Not only because that is a great book too but also because book two contains spoilers for book one.

In this story we got both POV’s. I liked that very much. The main characters were both wonderful! Theo was so opposite of his brother Jared. He’s more impulsive, cheerful, very likable, positive, a free spirit, funny, kind, pleasant and creative. Someone that you had fun with in every situation and who would take you on adventures. And Lucie was more his opposite, she’s very organized, hardworking, responsible, dependable but deep down she also had an adventurous, fun side. And when they were together, something just clicked. They always had a great, fun time together and slowly you could feel the sensual tension growing between them. The other, secondary characters brought also fun banter into the story. There were times that I thought, OMG! I’m so glad that that didn’t happen to me and other times that I thought, OMG! I wished that would happen to me.

I’m so happy that I started reading this story in the weekend because I didn’t want to stop reading it. I had such fun with it and it read very fluently. I really commend this book and series and I can’t wait to read the third book that will be about Lucie’s roommate and best friend Aubrey.

I feel weird bow that I have to write review on this book because I honestly don't know what to write.
I had big expectations about this book. Loved the premise, but I feel like something's missing here. I loved Lucie and Theo, they are perfect couple, but the entire book focused on the relationship between them. We cannot see what's happening around them. First of all, Theo brings Lucie to his brother's wedding and nobody notices it's weird. They all talk to her like they have known them for ages. Lucie is a bookworm, she adores reading, but not a single once she mentions any book. It all just feels so weird.
I give this book 4 out of 5 stars because the story is cute.

I've been giddy with excitement when Kirsty Moseley first announced that Love for Days will be a series of stand alones. I loved that Theo will get to tell his own story. And my current slump wouldn't stop me from devouring this.

I'm not really fond of insta-love stories. It's mostly a hit or miss for me. But I don't think I have read any of Kirsty's book that missed. It was fun and light. There may have been some lines that I didn't really get, primarily because of culture differences, but it didn't actually stopped me from enjoying the book. Their banters and flirting is very adorable and swoon worthy. Makes me wanna find my own Theo. The book was set on a short timeline but it covered everything that I didn't felt that it was either rushed or too panned out. The only thing I wished for more is a little twist. But the story flow was all too natural that I almost didn't mind it.

Although Theo hasn't really compete on a Nate or Jared level, (they're my faves from Kirsty) I still loved his personality. He's still definitely a book boyfriend material. Funny, sweet, caring, protective and oh so gorgeous. What could you possibly ask for? Lucie on the other hand is one sassy, resilient chick. I hate to see girls being trampled on and start doubting themselves. But Lucie was resilient enough to get her spirit back after being crushed like that. It's awe inspiring to watch (or read).

This is overall a 4.5 stars. I just missed that little blip in the plot but over all enjoyed the hilarious romance.

Having read Man-Crush Monday, I sort of knew what I was expecting when I started this book. I mean, I already loved the characters from the first book. What I didn't expect was to adore Theo even more. As for Lucie - total babe who I want to be my best friend.
The fast paced story kept me reading until I was upset it was over.
I laughed so much at certain parts, I scared the cats who were sleeping on my lap. And it's not very often I laugh out loud whilst reading, but the banter in this book is brilliant, and some of the situations these two crazy kids find themselves in are hilarious - can you say drunken sex tape that isn't quite a sex tape?
So, I kinda need the next book, like now.

I absolutely adored this book. My face was aching because I smiled and laughed so much, plus I shed some very happy tears too. This is a beautifully written, funny, sexy, addictive book. I just adore the teetering on the edge of letting their feelings be known, moments. The anxiety is heavenly.

Lucie and Theo are both so right for each other it’s silly! Both have a need for a date to help them get over lost love. The spark and personalities of these two just make this book so much more enjoyable. I enjoy knowing how they feel and get the tingling in my belly when it all works the way it should.

For me, Kirsty Moseley's characters come to life in front of my eyes and make me fall in love with them. Which is what makes for a very good story. This is a must-read that just gets better with every word.

Moseley does it again. Yet another fantastic story. I think I may be a little bit in love with Theo and Lucie (but mainly Theo), multiple times I thought the situations they were in could have been me. I laughed so much, I cried and my husband finally thought I'd gone mad. Absolutely amazing, now to read it again until the next one!

Fanning myself, seriously swooning over here. I loved this book, I kind of knew I would as I already loved Theo from Man Crush Monday. Kirsty has done it again bringing these fabulous characters to life with her wonderfully thoughtful, funny and swoon worthy words. She can make you laugh with tears one minute while chewing your nails the next, she truly is a brilliant author.

The sparks that fly between Theo and Lucie are scorching hot, from the looks to the feels I could read about them forever. Lucie is so adorable, her one liners have me literally crying with laughter, twos words "frying pan". She and Theo make a stunning fake couple! Their journey is as hilarious as it is awkward, but they both come through almost unscathed, lift breaking down not included!
It was just gorgeous reading about Jared and Amy, I adore these two. Seeing them get their happy ever after is beautiful. As always Amy's Nanna is just fabulous, anyone with a quirky family member would admit to cringing never knowing what they were going to utter or do!

The Love for Days series is going to be up there with my favourites, it truly is fabulously funny, I can't wait to carry on my journey with these guys and meet new characters along the way. I do enjoy a swoon worthy, humorous read and I can highly recommend this book. ❤️💕❤️.

Theo Stone’a mieliśmy okazje poznać w pierwszej części.

I have been dying for stand in Saturday since kirsty Moseley announced and this story didn’t disappoint kirsty Moseley is back with her whitty humour and a swoonful second stand alone in the “love for days” series that is not to be missed

If there was a book written about Theo and Lucie deciding what to have for dinner, I'd rush to buy it. That is how entertaining the characters are in Kirsty Mosely's, Stand-In Saturday. I could literally read about them doing anything and it wouldn't be boring. They are so much fun and so well-developed! If they were real people, I'd probably be stalking them.

In addition, Stand-In Saturday shows, yet again, that Kirsty Mosely is a phenomenal story-teller who just keeps getting better and better. I loved this engaging plot that flows seamlessly with never a dull moment. She brought back some beloved characters from the previous book, Man Crush Monday, as part of the story and not just as bonus cameo appearances. There were so many fun and funny moments, but they all worked to enhance the story and move it forward. I loved how quickly thing happened, and it never felt rushed.

One more thing I want to add is that Kirsty Mosely will really make you FEEL. My emotions were working overtime while reading Stand-In Saturday! I laughed like a barking seal one moment and had to close my eyes to cringe the next. From giddy squeals, to happy tears, to butterflies in my stomach - I swear I felt like I was the one falling in-love.

I am in-love with this book!

StandIn Saturday... it is the best way to start Your Monday like this one! I absolutely adore this story! Mrs. Moseley made me laugh pretty hard, but do not be fooled!!!

StandIn Staurday might be a pretty funny journey, but Mrs. Moseley knew exactly how to turn my world up side down with perfectly hidden emotional rollercoaster... and because of that Lucie and Theo are more and more delicious !!

I loved how their love story flow by thru the paiges.... They were addictive, sweet with the right dose of hotness around.

StandIn Saturday is an absolutely must read, and I'm happy that I could made my Monday better by this story.

Another smash for Kirsty Moseley.

I assumed I wouldn't love this book as much as the first one... you know what they say about assumptions? I'm now officially an arse!
There was something deeply relatable about Theo and Lucie. I adored her and after Amy in MCM, I didn't know how the heroine could be topped, but I fell in love with Lucie instantly and could have happily been her friend.
Theo, as expected, was described so well I felt my cooch dance every time he was mentioned topless!

There's a uniqueness about Kirsty Moseley's writing style. Her looks (for me) are like going home to my mum's and having my favourite homecooked meal. I always look forward to the next one, think about the last one longingly, and feel like I've been wrapped in warmth and love during the experience.

Another 5 star piece of brilliance.

I thought I knew what I was expecting when I started this book with meeting Theo in MCM but boy was I wrong! I laughed out loud so many times. Theo is funny and witty, Lucie is his perfect match in every way. I loved this story from the start all the way to the end. I’m a little sad it’s over. It deserves more than 5 🌟
