4.7 out of 5 stars 334 ratings

Two broken hearts. One fake dating agreement. What could go wrong?

Lucie thought she had it all--a loving fiancé, a nice apartment, and a job she was great at. But that all changed the day she walked in on her perfect fiancé screwing his personal trainer on her newly purchased dream sofa. Three months later, she's bunking with her best friend and scrambling to make sense of her life sans cheating ex.

Theo is about to jet off for a long weekend in picturesque Scotland to be the best man at his brother's wedding. With stunning views and nothing but free food and drinking ahead, he should be more excited than he is. If only he didn't have feelings for the damn bride.

When fate throws Lucie and Theo together under unlikely circumstances, they bond over doughnuts and their mutually disastrous love lives ... and it seems like they might be able to help each other out. As long as they both stick to the rules, there's nothing that can go wrong.

Contract in place? Check.
Hot, fake dates? Check.
Sexual chemistry steamy enough to scorch sheets? Double che--
Wait, what?

That wasn't in the agreement ...

From the bestselling author of Nothing Left to Lose and Enjoying the Chase comes this standalone romantic comedy full of sizzling chemistry, laugh out loud moments and witty banter. Perfect for fans of Sally Thorne, Beth O'Leary and Christina Lauren.

Note: although this book can be read as a standalone, it is set after Man Crush Monday (Book 1 in the series) so will contain spoilers.

I am a traditionally published and Indie author that hails from sunny England (I lie, it's not really that sunny here!) I'm a hopeless romantic, so of course my main writing focus is romance. I love to create swoon-worthy males that steal your breath! I write mature YA, new adult and contemporary romance novels.

As well as being a writer I'm also an avid reader, mum to one little boy, proud chocoholic and an absolute beast at Lego PlayStation games.

If I had to sum myself up in one word, it would probably be 'daydreamer' - but unlike most of my school teachers, I don't necessarily view that as a bad thing. After all, I read somewhere once that books are like waking dreams...

I absolutely loved Theo and Lucie's story, I didn't want it to end.
They each are quirky yet so perfect for each other.
I laughed. I swooned. I laughed some more...and I may have needed a cold shower on a few occasions and I also wanted to d*ckpunch a character, and I'm sure you will want to as well.
I cannot wait for Aubrey's story, I'm sure it will be just as funny and swoony

I received (= won) an ARC of this book and this is my voluntarily, honest review of it.

OMG! I loved this story!! It was just what I needed in these stressful times. A story that had me smiling from the start till the end! It was so funny and entertaining!

The writer Kirsty Moseley started this series (Love for days) with the book ‘Man Crush Monday’ where we met Jared and Amy and where we also met Jared’s brother Theo (the main character in this story). I enjoyed ‘Man Crush Monday’ very much. Jared and Amy were great characters and the story was very entertaining. So my hopes and expectations for the second book were high and I’m so glad that the writer met all of my expectations for this story and even gave me more!

‘Stand-in Saturday’ is the second book in the series and if you really want to, it can be read as a standalone. That’s not a problem but I would recommend that you start with the first book. Not only because that is a great book too but also because book two contains spoilers for book one.

In this story we got both POV’s. I liked that very much. The main characters were both wonderful! Theo was so opposite of his brother Jared. He’s more impulsive, cheerful, very likable, positive, a free spirit, funny, kind, pleasant and creative. Someone that you had fun with in every situation and who would take you on adventures. And Lucie was more his opposite, she’s very organized, hardworking, responsible, dependable but deep down she also had an adventurous, fun side. And when they were together, something just clicked. They always had a great, fun time together and slowly you could feel the sensual tension growing between them. The other, secondary characters brought also fun banter into the story. There were times that I thought, OMG! I’m so glad that that didn’t happen to me and other times that I thought, OMG I wished that would happen to me.

I’m so happy that I started reading this story in the weekend because I didn’t want to stop reading it. I had such fun with it and it read very fluently. I really commend this book and series and I can’t wait to read the third book that will be about Lucie’s roommate and best friend Aubrey.

This is the second storyline in this series. We meet both Jared and Amy for the first book. Theo is the opposite of his twin Jared. He is care free, an illustrator for a publisher,a really likeable funny guy who doesn’t have a problem finding a girl, but has a problem staying with her. Always amicable, but putting down roots and commitment is an issue and club he doesn’t want to be in. Why, cause he didn’t get dibs first on Amy, and although he is over the moon for Jared, he lusts after their union and friendship, wanting a slice of that cake. A chance meeting in a broken lift with Lucie, changes all that. She is a girl that has recently broken of her engagement with her long time partner and family friend Lucas, as he was caught, with his personal trainer, on their couch, naked and totally lusting with her. Lucie has to share a flat with her BBF , in a small , once office of Aubrey’s, and try and refocus her life. The chance meeting between Theo and Lucie leads to a deal. Lucie fake dates Theo to his bros wedding, one weekend and the following weekend Theo fake date Lucie to her fathers retirement party. To make Lucas jealous. The story unfolds, it is light, humourus, witty and deliciously descriptive. It is so well written you smell the Scottish heather. The two characters are so believable and beautifully described and their antics are so absolutely delightful a grin is felt all the way through the book. Not all the characters are delightful, some a little sinister, some possessive but all are believable and some most definitely desirable. Another platinum performance of a book and worth 5 more stars.

I ADORED this book! I was skeptical that the follow up to Man Crush Monday could stand up to the first. I loved Amy and Jared so I was worried Lucie and Theo would not measure up.
I had nothing to worry about. Author Kirsty Moseley knocked it out of the park with this one. The story tells from both main characters POV which allows us the look into both of their psyches. Theo is a funny, endearing, impulsive, free-spirit that made me worry a little about him that he will make the right choices. Lucie is a responsible, strong, sarcastic, sugar-loving woman who needs to let loose and have some fun and fun-loving Theo is the perfect man to do that for her.
I could not put this down! I can tell this will be one of those books I reread for a pick-me-up when life stresses rear their heads. Can't wait for bff Aubrey's book, which will be the third in the series.

Full disclosure: I received this ARC for my voluntary, honest opinion.
