New York was a fun installment in the International Guy series, and I found that Parker and Skye were really good together. I hope Parker will understand just what kind of a woman he's had the chance to meet - that he can see further than the fantasy he's had for several years.

Ce deuxième tome continue de me convaincre et nous offre une nouvelle mission pour les International Guy. Cette fois ci direction New York pour tenter de venir en aide à Skyler Paige, une actrice que Parker Ellis adore depuis des années et qui semble avoir perdu son envie de jouer.
un nouveau tome que j'ai apprécié au fil des pages. Audrey Carlan pose les fondations d'une saga qui risque de bien me plaire car l'image de la femme est très positive et elle véhicule de beaux messages. Après l'accès aux hautes responsabilités dans le premier tome, il s'agira ici de l'acception de soi telle qu'on est.

New York has been just as much fun as Paris was.
We’re introduced to Skyler in this book who just happened to be Parker’s dream girl.
She’s a movie star, a big star at that but what happens when the star looses her will to act. When she can’t see herself doing anything but hide away in her house? You call in reinforcements, you’re about to find out what happens.
Parker never expected this kind of job but when he gets it he can’t quite believe it. Parker is always a ladies man and can charm any one he wants especially Ms Skyler.
These two had chemistry from their first meet and it escalates from there on. It’s hot, steamy and leaves you needing a cold shower. I seriously can’t wait to see what’s about to happen in this next book.

Minha implicância com a série começou logo na primeira página. Diacho, acho que foi no primeiro parágrafo. É ali que Parker, do alto de sua arrogância masculina, explica como descobriu um grande segredo para lidar com as mulheres. É simples: cada mulher é diferente.
CARACA, É SÉRIO ISSO? O cara se acha o máximo por ter descoberto que mulheres são… pessoas? Claro que cada mulher é diferente da outra. Quão arrogante você precisa ser para achar isso uma grande descoberta?

Oy, I know what to call these guys now (well especially Parker) - I am beginning to wonder if their "business" is all a front for their gigolo business?
It again is mostly around IG Parker, this time his client is in NYC, and ugh, I didn't like him this time.
I mean, seriously dude, you are cracking a boner in front of, sniffing and kissing your client all within 5 minutes. Just no man, don't!
I liked our leading lady Skyler. I liked her vulnerability. And I freaking adore her best friend/manager Tracey and how she gave lip to Parker - you go lady!
I wish we had more of Bo and Royce in this one. I found Parker really unlikable in this one, and his actions just made me feel ick.
I will be carrying on to the next in this series, hoping we get more of the other guys this time.

Au moment de vous écrire cette chronique, je viens de réaliser que je ne vous avais pas du tout présenté ma dernière lecture ! Honte à moi ! Quoique avec mes commentaires, vous deviez bien vous douter que je continuerais ma lecture d'International Guy avec le deuxième tome que j'avais déjà entre mes mains. J'en suis donc rendu au point de vous en faire la chronique et comme pour le premier tome, j'ai vraiment adoré ma lecture. Cette série s'enligne pour être le style de séries que nous pouvons lire sans se prendre la tête et seulement profiter du moment présent, une petite lecture que l'on peut lire sans réfléchir. C'est donc avec plaisir que j'ai retrouvé encore une fois la plume d'Audrey Carlan qui fait sans aucun doute partie de mes auteures préférées, une auteure dont je n'ai pas peur de commencer la lecture d'un de ses romans parce que je sais que je vais aimer. Je ne dis pas que ce sera le coup de coeur à chaque fois, mais je n'ai jamais été déçue par un de ses romans. Dès la première page du roman, je suis retombée sous le charme du personnage principal, Parker Ellis, et je me suis demandée jusqu'où il nous amènerait cette fois surtout en sachant quelle serait sa prochaine cliente. Je dois dire que j'ai eu droit à plusieurs fous rire dans les premières pages du romans dû à la situation très cocasse dans laquelle Parker se retrouvait. Les personnages sont encore une fois très attachants et j'ai bien aimé apprendre à découvrir Parker plus en profondeur. Dans ce roman, il nous a vraiment laissé voir des côtés de lui que j'ai été surprise de voir chez cet homme. En somme, ce fut une très bonne lecture.
Comme à mon habitude, voici venu le temps de vous faire un petit résumé du roman afin de vous permettre de mieux comprendre mon avis sur ce roman. Encore une fois, j'ai décidé de vous faire un résumé vraiment succinct puisque, comme il s'agit d'un très petit roman, je ne veux pas trop vous en dire afin de ne pas gâcher votre lecture lorsque vous tenterez le coup. Nous retrouvons donc Parker Ellis pour une nouvelle aventure dans ce second tome et pas n'importe laquelle. Cette fois-ci, il nous fera voyager jusqu'à New York où il ira s'occuper de Skylar Paige, l'actrice la plus en vogue du moment. Ce que vous ignorez par contre, c'est que Parker a un gros coup de coeur pour la belle Skylar depuis presque 10 ans donc imaginez-vous donc dans quel état il se trouve. Sa mission auprès de Skylar : l'aider à retrouver l'inspiration et le goût d'exercer son métier... Choses qu'elle a perdu depuis quelques temps forçant son agente à annuler tous ses contrats. Est-ce que Parker réussira à aider Skylar ? Et surtout, arrivera-t-il à contrôler son attirance pour la belle actrice ? À vous de le découvrir en lisant ce roman.
En ce qui a trait aux personnages, je vais encore une fois me contenter de vous parler de Parker afin de vous laisser découvrir les autres personnages par vous-mêmes. Sachez que vous ferez la connaissance de plusieurs personnages dans ce deuxième tome hauts en couleurs avec lesquels vous ne vous ennuierez pas. Pour en revenir à Parker, comme j'ai dit un peu plus haut, j'ai eu l'occasion de voir quelques côtés de son personnage que je ne pensais pas découvrir aussi tôt dans la série. Il m'a donné l'occasion de voir qu'il n'était pas que le beau gars qui emballent les filles afin d'en faire son quatre heure si vous me permettez l'expression. Il a une personnalité beaucoup plus profonde qu'il ne le laisse paraître du premier abord. Par contre, il ne veut pas tomber amoureux puisqu'il a été grandement blessé dans le passé et je me demande quand est-ce qu'il laissera quelqu'un l'approcher d'assez près pour mettre tout ça derrière lui. Encore une fois, on lui voit un gros côté protecteur envers les personnes auxquelles il tient et je crois que c'est ce que je préfère chez lui. J'ai déjà hâte de lire le prochain tome pour voir ce que je découvrirai de nouveau sur lui.
En conclusion, ce deuxième tome est une très bonne continuité du premier et je meurs d'envie de me plonger dans les autres pour voir ce que cette série a de nouveau à m'apporter. De mon point de vue, je trouve qu'elle est tout à fait à la hauteur de Calendar Girl tout en étant différente. Donc, je ne peux que vous conseillez de vous laisser tenter par cette nouvelle aventure ! Alors, n'attendez plus et commencez votre voyage autour du monde !

Nachdem ich bereits den ersten Band der "Dream Maker City"-Reihe gelesen habe und ich diesen insgesamt ganz nett fand, habe ich mich spontan dazu entschieden, de zweiten Band "New York" direkt hinterher zu lesen. Auch hier waren meine Erwartungen nicht allzu hoch, sodass ich nicht enttäuscht werden konnte, allerdings muss ich zugeben, dass mir der zweite Band etwas besser als sein Vorgänger gefallen hat.
„New York“, die Stadt, die Stadt die niemals schläft, ist dabei die zweite Station von Parker Ellis, elf weitere, darunter Montreal, Berlin, Madrid und London folgen. Audrey Carlan besitzt einen eher einfach gehaltenen Schreibstil, der sich flüssig liest und durchaus zu unterhalten weiß. Die Figuren sind – für die Länge, bzw. Kürze der Geschichte – gut gezeichnet, man lernt diese ausreichend kennen, allerdings sind diese nicht immer sympathisch. Ein Schwachpunkt sind hierbei auch die Dialoge, die sich oftmals doch sehr hölzern lesen.
Die Geschichte ist dabei schnell erzählt: Parker Ellis ist der sogenannte Dream Maker, der zusammen mit seinen beiden Partnern Bogart und Royce die Agentur „International Guy“ führt. Hierbei fliegt er um die gesamte Welt, um seine Aufträge zu erfüllen, die hauptsächlich davon handeln, Frauen zu verführen, ihnen neues Selbstbewusstsein zu verleihen oder einfach einen netten Abend zu haben. In New York bekommt er es mit der Schauspielerin Skyler Paige zu tun, die mitten in einer Krise steckt und nicht mehr am öffentlichen Leben teilnehmen möchte.
Wenn man mal für ein paar Stunden den Kopf ausschalten möchte, wird man hier sicherlich gut unterhalten. Dennoch gibt es hier einen ganz großen Punkt, der mich doch sehr stört und das ist die Darstellung von Mann und Frau in den Büchern der Autorin. Während bislang immer die Frauen als nahezu perfekt und fast schon sexbesessen dargestellt werden, steht in der „Dream Maker City“-Reihe dieses Mal der Mann im Vordergrund, der natürlich unglaublich sexy, selbstbewusst und unwiderstehlich ist. Dies kann vielleicht mal nett sein, allerdings gefallen mir Figuren mit Ecken und Kanten deutlich besser als die oftmals viel zu aalglatten Figuren, die Audrey Carlan hier kreiert hat.
Das Cover ist dagegen ganz hübsch anzusehen und besticht mit tollen Farben. Die Kurzbeschreibung konnte mich ebenfalls überzeugen, sodass ich auch dem zweiten Band eine Chance geben wollte.
Kurz gesagt: „New York“ ist ein netter zweiter Teil der „Dream Maker City“-Rehe, der zwar hier und da durchaus zu unterhalten weiß, aber insgesamt doch häufig recht blass bleibt. Mal sehen, ob sich der dritte Band "Kopenhagen" steigern kann.

New York is an installment packed with heat, emotion, joy, fun, awe, and even some sadness.
In this installment, we get to watch as the newest addition to the IG team tricks Parker then impresses him. I FLOVE her! She had me grinning so wide then outright chuckling at her cheekiness.
Here, we find Parker in a very difficult situation. He was hired by his dream girl’s agent to help her find her muse and herself. Their first meeting would have had a lesser man on his knees and his tongue hanging out. I have to give him serious props for holding out as long as he did, especially with what she does? Whew!
I really felt for Skyler. Her life is not an easy one and I can’t blame her for the way she was before Parker. I just think she is absolutely adorable and someone I’d love to be good friends with. She has this cute sense of humor and a ton of wicked talent. I hope to see more of her!
So far, this is my favorite installment. Not only was the heat and chemistry off-the-charts, but the pride, joy, and hilarity were awesome! I can’t wait to see what happens next!
In this installment, we get to watch as the newest addition to the IG team tricks Parker then impresses him. I FLOVE her! She had me grinning so wide then outright chuckling at her cheekiness.
Here, we find Parker in a very difficult situation. He was hired by his dream girl’s agent to help her find her muse and herself. Their first meeting would have had a lesser man on his knees and his tongue hanging out. I have to give him serious props for holding out as long as he did, especially with what she does? Whew!
I really felt for Skyler. Her life is not an easy one and I can’t blame her for the way she was before Parker. I just think she is absolutely adorable and someone I’d love to be good friends with. She has this cute sense of humor and a ton of wicked talent. I hope to see more of her!
So far, this is my favorite installment. Not only was the heat and chemistry off-the-charts, but the pride, joy, and hilarity were awesome! I can’t wait to see what happens next!

Skyler's story is easy to relate to even if your not a star! Being who you are is important no matter your status. Audrey was able to bring life to Skyler with Parker along for the ride. Amazing relatable works of fiction is my go to. Not to mention the hot steamy that came along with it. Amazing!

International Guy is a new series from Audrey Carlan. It features The Dream Maker, Parker Ellis; The Love Maker, Bo Montgomery & Royce Sterling, The Money Maker. Three boyhood friends who came up the idea of International Guy while at college. The premise of their company is to provide whatever support their mainly female clients need whether its regarding their personal appearance, matters of the heart or financial advice. Really their job is to give their clients the confidence to reach their full potential.
The second instalment in this series finds International Guy Inc. a little closer to home. Their new client is Skylar Payne, a New York based actress who is suffering from burnout. Trouble is, she has contracts she must fulfil or she risks losing everything she has spent years working for. Matters aren’t helped any due to the fact that Parker has had a major crush on Skylar for years. Will he be able to resist temptation long enough to help Skylar rediscover her love of acting or has he bitten of more than he can handle on this particular job?
I didn’t enjoy this book quite as much as I did the first one, mainly I think because it was mostly about Parker & Skylar with very limited involvement from the rest of International Guy Inc. I love the connection between the other characters so felt that there was something lacking here. I especially love their new PA Wendy who surely deserves her own book. I’d love to hear all about how she met ‘Sir’ Mick. And Sophie Rolland from book one seems set to become a recurring character in the series is another one I’d love to hear more about. I know who I’d love to see her end up with.
Now I’m off to Copenhagen where Parker’s next client is none other than a princess

I am a huge fan of Audrey Carlan! I loved the Calendar Girl series and there are more similarities with International Guy’s Parker and Calendar Girl’s Mia, but they are not obvious. I hope that as International Guy moves forward it will develop deeper connections for Parker in his international journeys. It was a slow journey for me so far to get to love Parker. Looking forward the next chapter and hoping for a bit more depth as Parker finds himself in Milan…

Book two in the series, and this one has me thinking Parker may have met the one? It's still a little early for all that and he has a business to run, so we will see.
Actress Skyler Paige needs his help, and they have fireworks together from the beginning. Who says you can't mix business and pleasure? I mean we are all adults here. Dans ce nouveau tome, les International Guy sont de nouveau appelés pour venir en aide à une jeune femme. Seulement, ce n’est pas n’importe quelle femme puisqu’il s’agit de Skyler Paige, la fameuse actrice qui a le monde à ses pieds. Elle est également le fantasme numéro un de Parker, alias Dream Maker, qui se fait une joie de prendre l’avion direction New-York, là où l’attend la femme de ses rêves.
Le récit de ce second tome n’est pas une surprise puisque l’on connaît déjà le nom de la cliente à la fin du premier opus.
Par contre, on ne savait pas vraiment comment tout allait se dérouler, notamment comme Parker allait gérer d’avoir en face de lui son actrice préférée.
En toute franchise, j’ai passé un bon moment de lecture. Comme dans le précédent tome, c’est une histoire qui se lit très rapidement et qui permet de s’évader.
La relation entre Parker et Skyler va être rapidement mise en avant. On peut dire qu’il y a des étincelles qui crépitent entre eux dès leur rencontre, ce qui n’est pas pour déplaire à Dream Maker.
Même si je m’attendais à ce que l’auteur choisisse la voie du « coup de foudre », j’étais déçue de voir que je n’étais pas surprise. Alors même si ce n’est pas déplaisant à lire, j’ai trouvé que c’était trop prévisible.
Ce côté un peu trop linéaire se retrouve également dans la manière d’aborder le problème de Skyler. Pourtant, c’était une bonne problématique qui permet d’aborder les aspects plus négatifs de la célébrité, choses que l’on oublie assez facilement.
Pourtant, Parker arrive trop facilement à résoudre ce problème, à trouver des solutions et à remettre sur pied Skyler. L’histoire de ce tome aurait pu très bien être plus développée car il y avait de quoi faire. Maintenant, je comprends qu’Audrey CARLAN ait choisi ce chemin, notamment pour garder le format court qui fait le succès de ses séries.
La belle petite surprise de ce tome est l’assistante que vont engager les International Guy. Elle est le grain de folie qui manque un peu à ce trio d’hommes. Je vous laisse la surprise de la découvrir car elle vaut vraiment le détour.
A mon avis, on n’a pas fini d’entendre parler de cette femme qui réserve son lot de surprises.
La fin est différente du premier opus, mais comme le reste de l’histoire, elle est un peu prévisible. Par contre, je suis curieuse d’avoir la suite pour savoir comment l’auteur va faire évoluer tout ça.

Cette fois, la mission des International Guy sera principalement pour Parker. Il faut dire que cette fois, ce ne sera clairement pas une simple mission pour lui, n'oublions pas que Skyler Paige est son méga crush depuis pas mal d'années !
Le voilà donc qui s'envole pour New York à la rencontre de l'actrice et mannequin qui fait battre son cœur ! Sera-t-il à la hauteur des attentes de la célébrité qui semble être au plus mal ? Réussira-t-il à la remettre su pied ? La femme qu'il va découvrir sera-t-elle, elle aussi, celle qui le fait carrément fondre sur place ?
Celle qui lui ouvre la porte lorsqu'il arrive devant chez elle, elle est une femme sublime, mais ça, il le savait déjà, en à peine quelques secondes, le voilà qu'il a déjà beaucoup de mal à se retenir de lui sauter dessus. Cependant, en quelques heures à peine, il comprendra ce qui ne va pas chez elle, elle a totalement perdu cette passion qui l'animait dans son métier. Toujours plus de boulot et pas forcément des rôles dont elle a envie ont eu raison de cette passion qui se ressent pourtant lorsque l'on peut la voir dans un de ses films.
Autant vous dire qu'entre eux, il n'y a pas que cette tension que Parker peut ressentir, non, c'est beaucoup plus que cela, mais pour le bien de sa cliente et de sa mission, il doit se freiner, rester focaliser. Autant vous dire que pour lui c'est un véritable cauchemar, alors que la jeune femme dors avec lui, il ne doit surtout pas la toucher sous peine de ne plus rien contrôler du tout.
C'est à force de parler et de creuser qu'il finira par trouver le fond du problème, de là, il va tout faire pour que Skyler puisse à nouveau s'épanouir, non pas en tant qu'actrice, mais bien en tant que Skyler. Car si Skyler ne pas pas bien, comment pourrait-elle retrouver cette passion qu'elle a toujours eue pour son métier ?
Je vous préviens déjà, ne vous attendez pas à une romance tranquille, nous ne sommes pas dans du slow burn, ici, la tension suinte à chaque page, la chaleur monte crescendo à vous faire exploser les élastiques de vos culottes ! Baissez le chauffage de toute urgence, sinon, vous ne survivrez pas au duo Parker/Skyler !

This is such an addictive collection of sexy, funny novellas with captivating characters I was instantly hooked by.
Firstly, Parker Ellis. The dreammaker. How can I put into words how much I’m crushing on a fictional character?!?! Parker is sexy, intriguing, honest and loyal, like a true person he’s a flawed character but I love him so much. I love seeing all the relationships and people in his life, I love all three international guys and I really want to get to see HEA love stories for all three because I’m so invested!
Audrey Carlan has a unique ability of making you feel like you’ve literally been transported to the places she describes, and that’s never truer than with this series. I truly feel as if I’ve travelled to three cities I’ve never seen in person, and followed love and wishes around the globe.
For fun, single sitting, wrapped up with a pretty bow on top novellas, this is the series for you. Carlan explores friendship, love and the grittier side of life with this beautiful collection and I cannot WAIT for more. Also, Skyler may have just become my favourite Audrey Carlan heroine, though I’ll let you know if that’s still true after I finally get Luna’s story with my ARC of Enlightened End tomorrow.

J’avais beaucoup aimé me replonger dans l’univers de l’auteure avec la première aventure de Parker et ses acolytes à Paris et c’est donc tout naturellement que je me suis plongée dans celui-ci !
Cette fois, Parker se rend seul à New-York pour aider la célèbre actrice Skyler Paige à reprendre sa vie en main. Etant donné qu’il est « fan » de cette actrice depuis de nombreuses années, il ne part pas aussi confiant que d’habitude ne sachant pas comment la rencontre et la cohabitation vont se passer.
Heureusement pour lui, il va découvrir une jeune femme très abordable et agréable avec qui il va beaucoup apprécier son séjour, enfin sa mission…

This month we started getting to know the new boys' secretary, Wendy. She's a super nerd / hacker and she's so funny that makes you fall in love with her! The first meeting between Parker and Sky is incredible, you notice the weather right between them.
When he starts trying to bring his love into acting again, we can see a vunerability of the sky as a person and we can see what parker can do to help it in that process. The encounters they have are so passionate that it makes you sigh, the hot scenes betweenthe two are fantastic, you can feel the feelings of both!
I simply loved every chapter of this book and wanted so much more of it, I just kept smiling after I read it!

Un tome qui se lit très vite, où, en plus de rencontrer la femme qui fait tourner la tête de Parker, on fait la connaissance de la nouvelle assistante du trio d’IG, qui sera un élément tout aussi important, surtout pour l’entreprise. Elle est la note pétillante de la série, au milieu de notre trio d’hommes. Mais son cœur est déjà pris, par celui qui détient la clé du cadenas qu’elle porte à son cou. Je ne vous en dis pas plus, et je vous laisse de découvrir sa personnalité.
Cette série est idéale pour les vacances pour celles qui cherchent une lecture légère.
