A Brand New Stand Alone Sports Romance From USA Today Best Selling Author MJ Fields
I never wished on falling stars or simply dreamed of making it into the major leagues. I did the work. I made it happen.
I never expected my last night out with my minor league crew would end up with us stepping in for a no-show stripper at a bachelorette party in the VIP section of Kingston’s.
I sure as hell didn’t expect that the hottie with the pink sash and gold lettering spelling out “Bride To Be” would have me calling dibs on a woman for the first time in my life.
Spoiler alert: she had no ring, she was no bride, and I knew that going … in.
After the hottest hour of my life with the stand-in bride, I left her with my number on a baseball card, confident I’d see her again, and then headed back to Jersey.
In the blink of an eye, everything changed.
I woke up in the hospital, not remembering anything from that night. What I did know was I had been dropped by my team and that I had a long road ahead of me in order to get back on the field.
Then life swung hard, returned me to the game, gave me some vivid dreams, and dropped the stand-in bride back into my life.
Except, she wasn’t at all what I expected, and she brought her own issues to the field.
Nothing good in life comes without doing the work. This would be no exception. Batter up.

“I love us. I love you. The forever kind. Forever mine.”
5 base stealing stars!!! These guys get hotter and hotter. MJ Fields pulls at your heart strings with this book. Amias Steel will literally steal every piece of your heart. The way he is with Ellis, and shutting down all of her insecurities is swoon-worthy. All of my favorite Steel family members make an appearance. I couldn’t put this book down, it was just that good. I don’t know how MJ Fields does it, but these books keep topping each other, and I love every single minute of this amazing ride. There is so much more I want to say but that would give away all of the amazing parts in this story. #ForeverSteel.
It’s a sweet ache, the kind of ache caused by feeling something so good and realizing you’ve missed it your entire life.
I have to say Smashed Steel is my favorite of this series. Amias might only be nineteen but he knows what he wants, and nothing will stand in his way of getting it. From the minute he saw Ellis at the Bachelorette party he knew she was for him. She was not like any other girl he was ever with. She was special and she would be his. Ellis has had it rough. She is a single mom of the cutest 4-year-old little girl. Her life has not been easy, but she is such a strong a determined girl nothing will stop her. Yes, she found herself pregnant and unmarried, but she was able to raise her daughter on her own while completing her doctorate. IT has not been easy for her, but she did it and is proud. What I love about this series and everything Steel is FAMILY. It is so important. They are all there for one another. The support system this family has is unbelievable. Can they be overbearing, of course. But they have each other’s backs always. They are brought up with family values and trust and protection that anyone lucky enough to become a part of their family will feel like they won the lottery. Ellis and Georgie may have struggled before they met Amias but now they have everything they could have dreamed of and so much more. The important being family and love.

5 star Review Smashed Steel (Steel Crew #7) by M.J.Fields
Having read and enjoyed numerous books in the Steel family by M J Fields I couldn’t wait to read Smashed Steel and get to know more of the second generation of the Steel family. Smashed Steel was well written and a great addition to the series . This is Amias Steel and Ellis Stavros’s story and was an entertaining read.
Ellis has had a hard life but she is driven, focused and determined and is just about to finish her doctorate in Physical Therapy. All it takes is one moment in time to change the course of a person’s life. Ellis and Amias and a brief hook up and go their separate ways.
When tragedy strikes, fates plays a hand and they meet again. Will Ellis take a chance with Amias or will she let her past dictate her future? There were times I laughed, times I swooned, times I was cried but this is one of my favourite books in the series.
I fell hard for Amias, he was so swoon worthy and my heart broke for him at times. He has been through so much and is determined to beat the odds and succeed, despite what life throws at him.
One click this little gem, it gave me all the feels and I have no hesitation in recommending Smashed Steel.
MJ has knocked this one straight out the Park, 5 stars all the way.
Amias Steel has found himself at the top and his career in Major Baseball League is only just starting, so before it becomes all work he has a last hoorah with friends but little did he know stepping into this club his life would be changed in so many ways. Standing in for a stripper at a bachlorette party was never in the plan but Amais isn't sorry when he gets to have a party for 2 with the beautiful Ellis Stavros but little does he know that once he steps out his life will change in so many ways.
Single mom Ellis finds herself being pushed into the position of Bride to Be at the bachlorette party so her friend Lily who's the Bride doesn't have to endure the stripper, luckily for Ellis the stripper is one sexy man in the form of Amias Steel and he certainly has the moves. Ellis throws caution to the wind for this night but little does she know her life is to be turned upside down once again, her life up until this point hasn't been easy, she works hard to provide for her daughter and pursue a career so how will she deal with this stumbling block.
Smashed Steel is an amazing read and we get glimpses of all the Steels at one time or another throughout this journey so we are guaranteed so many laugh out moments and let's not forget the flames that each and everyone of these ignite.
Soooo. This is going to be an angst filled review, so I guess I’ll start with the good. Amias is amazing, he is everything MJ is capable of when she’s not trying to throw in gratuitous stuff for shock value. This sis completely safe as even though he forgot his night with Ellis, he somehow knew she she was out there. Thus 19 year old kid was ready to take in the responsibility of a full grown man. He was ready for the baby and 100% to be the father Georgie deserved. I could totally identify with Ellis. She didn’t realize that she was older than he was and when she did she had no idea how to handle it. She taught against falling for him convinced he was too young, and would not last with her. This was more about her self doubt than her faith in the kind of man that he was. I typically hate older woman younger man stories, and honestly the only ones I’ve ever liked have been MJ fields stories. So now the hard part. Why do I have to spoil this review of a really great story between these two people? Because just like what she did with Brisas story, she could not just give Amias his own story. She had to sprinkle in the crazy breadcrumbs of the clusterf**k she decided to make of Marcelo and Tris lives/relationship to set things up for the next book. Why? Just why? Didn’t Amias deserve his own? They aren’t even the same genre. I had already decided not to read Tris’s when it does come out, because I knew it would break my heart, and I just don’t want to do that. I hate when authors mess with the HEA of their previous characters. And to me that’s what she has done. I don’t know how to still love the story of Sabato and Mel when I know they raised a kid like him. The same goes with Zander and Bekka. These two are just awful to each other and in general. I want to feel for Tris, but she is making it so hard. There were many breadcrumbs in the last book that indicate the mistakes that Tris makes while bipolar. I have experience with Bipolar disorder in my family so it’s pretty obvious the creative license she was taking, and I knew that book wouldn’t be for me... But here she was again forcing me to read that dark angsty chaos in the middle of what was truly a great romantic story. I don’t like being forced or tricked. It’s revealed in this story that one thing that sent her in a spiral was Marcelo cheating on her as a teen, then it’s revealed that she reacted by aborting his baby. It was revealed in a very awful way, almost like she was bragging. There was a comment made by her about her age. But I can’t decide how MJ thinks this all works together. This is the same character that was supposedly so mature that bit to long after this determined fit to tour the world as the lead singer of her band Foreplay (yes these parents let their 16 year old daughter name her band foreplay, but I’m moving on) without an adult aside form her cousin who was a couple of years older. Then they decide that she is so mature they would encourage her relationship (while still a minor) with a 25 year old man. So which is it author? Is she very mature and is able to handle all of these adult situations, or is she just an innocent child. You can’t sell these situations all together and expect us still respect her and her parents decisions. In real life i am 100% pro choice. A woman’s body is her body. Even if I wouldn’t make that choice myself. But this isn’t real life. This is a book with characters you created and her abortions is a cheap plot device. Something to be done to be petty when you want revenge on someone. I don’t know if the point is to just look “woke” but you kind of lose points when you give that as the reason and also by encouraging the illegal adult/ child relationship. Woke parents tend to not encourage adult/child marriages. The parents could have absolutely stopped that relationship. SHE WAS A FREAKING MINOR! And it was all pointless because it’s obvious that the husband is being killed off and Marcelo is coming back. So either he really isn’t a narcissist (and everything she did was horribly unforgivable) or you are writing another book about a child who was traumatized and victimized by a borderline sociopath but ya know suspension of disbelief so either way the fan girls will come out and say “swoon, so romantic!” But for us real people? Where is the HEA after that much hurt? This isn’t a little bit of angst. This is life altering impulsive decisions. How do you come back from that? Even if he really didn’t cheat, she really did run out to have an abortion because in her own words she thought he was a narcissistic. She didn’t think that until he cheated though... So let’s be honest about the real reason. You don’t get to take the easy way out and just claim free choice when you write this crap. You could have wrote it differently. Like maybe not with a “poor me I was just an innocent kid” strait to “I may have been a teen, but I was completely ready to be an adult, and deserved for my parents to give me all of these freedoms”. I wanted to still stay at least a part time fan, but I don’t know how. If you’re going on a serious topic, remember it’s not just a cheap plot device to some people. It’s complicated and very personal, but out of the people I know who made that choice it wasn’t out of spite. I borrowed this to read Amias’s low angst sports romance, and was forced into that dark mess. I feel betrayed and honestly feel like the 3 stars were a gift.
This book is a definite home run! I took my time reading it, it’s sooo good I didn’t want it to finish. Amias Steel is of course a gorgeous young man playing for the minors. Then on his last night with the team they go and celebrate at the VIP section. A bachelorette party is going on but the entertainment didn’t show up. So Amias and his teammates get asked to be the stand in ❤️🔥 But, the bride isn’t really the bride and Omgoodness the Hott dance he gives her!! One dance leads to a scorching hour of the best sex ever and Amias gives her one of his prized baseball card with his cellphone. Okay this book is a 10 Star ⭐️ book 📖 It has an amazing storyline and the characters make it so fun, sexy and romantically interesting. There are sad but realistic issues in this book. There’s also beautiful and laugh out loud moments too! I highly recommend reading the series, even though each book is standalone, but I read Jase, Cyrus, Zander and Xavier Steel books. This book is their children’s story. It’s an addictive storyline of books.
Smashed it! Amias wasn’t really on my radar at all after reading all the previous steel books but wow he totally should’ve been MJ. knocked it out of the park with him. Amias knows what he wants and works damn hard to get it, be that his ball career or his forever. He may only be 19 but he knows Ellis and her cute daughter Georgie are his. Convincing Ellis who has only ever had herself to rely on may not be as easy. Ellis is strong, and like Amias a hard worker she’s worked hard as a single mother to graduate college and get her dream job to provide for herself and her daughter Georgie. Amias bay be a solid, fit, bulky ball player but he’s also happy to play princess tea party to make the young princesses in his life smile how could Ellis not want to make him her king. Loved this book
Amias is one confident compassionate loyal loving man. He see’s what he wants and goes for it. Ellis is on amazingly strong compassionate loving woman. Ellis has not had an easy life. But that doesn’t stop her from going after what she wants. Could not wait to see where Amias and Ellis would take there story. What an amazing chemistry and instant connection. Amiias is one of my favorite alpha steel men. A must read.
I liked this story, but didn’t like feeling like it was just a prologue to read more about his sister. We get it, you want to show everyone how you can write a dark awful story and complete with more success authors. It just sucks that you don’t care about alienating the fan base you already had to do it. This “dark” story that you have coming would have been better as a stand-alone. Bit with kids we “watched” grow up. Seeing them running around cheating on each other, aborting babies because she feels to young but then is immediately out touring the world as a rock star, behaving very much like the adult, marrying other people. Yeah, no thanks. You wanted to go dark. You don’t care what it does to the fans who’ve been reading about these kids forever. Yay you!
My,My,My.....God i want one for ¨My¨self. Going into Amias´s story I knew it was going to be about him & his love of Baseball. I knew during that time he´d fall just as the rest of the Crew. But i never expected to be taken on such an emotional journey. Throughout the Steel world Amias has always been the quiet one. We never expect too much because he never has given us more then a few words here and there and at the best of times it was always aimed at or while with Max......funny shit i have to say! These last two days being in Amias´s world showed me two things. 1 Amias is so much like his dad Zandor & 2 He knows what he wants when he wants it. He´s level headed, takes control & holds those dear to him so close to his heart that you wish you could receive an ounce of his love. However, when those he gives that love to are backed into a corner he has no problem ¨smashing¨ said problem into their place. This Love Story is the Forever Steel kinda Love! It was worth the wait! It´s worth the read & worth the ride that you´ll be on from page one! Amias is the Prince little girls dream of & the King you want with you until the end. (when i agree to read ARC´s i truly try not to give the details of who the love is or who is actually involved only because i hate reading reviews that give away most of the book.....my hope is to give you a taste & for you to trust that if im giving a book a 5 it´s worth the read!) #FOREVERSTEELCREW
Swoon!!!! I love this series so much it just keeps getting better and better with each character. First I want to say something I loved about this book is in between each chapter is a quote that I loved more and more. I'm a huge baseball fan and love that Amias is a player. He's going to the big leagues to the team he loves. He's always wanted to play and now his dream is coming true. When he goes out with his boys he meets a woman that blows him away. Ellis is beautiful and sexy and she has no idea. Now he's about to show her. These two have a passionate night that ends with more than smiles. But sometimes things don't always work out like they should. Now Amias has to fight back to get where he was before an accident. I want to say this one thing I love about the Steel family and MJ's love for them is that no matter what happens they are a family and instead of this story destroying them it made them so much stronger and that is a true family. Okay, back to Ellis and Amias they are thrown together in a new team and Amias isn't about to let her walk away this time. It takes a special kind of man to not only own his feelings but go after what he wants. And Ellis is that person, but people are about to get in the way of that. Can he keep her forever? "FOREVER STEEL"
Smashed Steel is the 7th book in Steel Crew series by M.J Fields. This is Amias Steel and Ellis Stavros’s story. This is full of angst, feels, chemistry, heat, 2nd chance at romance/love , family, friends, and that Steel swoon-worthy gaze. Amias is 19 but don't let that fool you, he is ready for the big leagues, life and Ellis. He was a player until she came into his life one night and suddenly there was this instant chemistry between them. Ellis is this intelligent, beautiful, sassy woman who doesn't let life get her down or stand in her way. She wasn't expecting Amias. Their one night together was life changing in so many ways. They weren't staying together after their one night stand yet fate has a way of bringing fated lovers together and they end up crossing paths again and Boy, do things get pretty interesting. Expect drama, passion, angst, secrets, twists, chemistry, heat, feels, romance, family interaction, love, and HEA. See previous characters make appearances which adds to a fantastic read.
My OH MY! I can NOT get over this book! If you are new to MJ books this book is a standalone but you'll love it a million times more if you read them all! For those who have been on this ride a little longer. I can say this is MY FAVORITE STEEL MAN! He is everything. Simply and completely he is everything. Amias hasn't been a focal character thus far but once you meet him it makes you want more and more of him. He is protective of his family, dedicated to his career and will do anything for love. He is PERFECT. So who do you pair some one that amazing with? Yeah she would have to be a home run kind of girl and in walks Ellis. She is a good-girl, she follows rules and is loving and sweet but a total ball buster who can hold her own and handle her shit. She had a hard life leading up to when she meet Amias so you connect a little more emotionally to her in the beginning. Once they team up is sparks and hearts all over the place. Their story hold surprises for them and all the Steels. Definitely a happy read <3
MJ Fields has done it again , another winner . These “ Steel’s” are a family what I call a whole family, that always pulls together no matter what the situation holds. Amias besides having a beautiful name has all the goodness wrapped into one . He is extremely thoughtful , he knows what he wants and who he wants . He goes for it , hook line and sinker he regrets nothing . Ellis , a single mum is hooked by Amias , her world is turned upside down . Ellis can’t separate fact from fiction but with the continued love and devotion from Amais also the whole Steel family she understands that his love for her is true and everything. I laughed when reading the wonderful snarky comments between the older Steels . Fantastic book — Forever Steel.
Amias and Ellis’ story will melt your heart and have you begging for more. The underlying theme of the series is family and what the characters are willing to do for their family. Amias he’s out celebrating when he bumps into Ellis and they have a one night stand but he has no way of getting in touch with her after. It’s a shame because he knows she is it for him. Ellis has had one challenge after another but fate intervenes and throws Ellis and Amias in each other’s paths again. Will they make it work this time? Will Ellis let her walls down enough to let Amias in her heart?
Received an advance copy for honest review. My my my, I will take you to the candy shop! What an epic story, seriously want to be apart of the steel crew. The second chance meeting of Sweets and HB is just swoon worthy, and major alpha hole that definitely picked up from the first gen
Amias!!! Holy fucking wow. This book is everything and more. I feel like I swooned throughout the whole thing. Can I just say that you HAVE to one click this one because he is the kind of addiction not frowned upon. I’m convinced MJ is a genius.
I want to start by saying that I was pleasantly surprised with this storyline. Even though Amias is younger than Ellis, they talked about it but they didn't bring it up repeatedly. They both have a history of family issues and they talked through them for the most part. I appreciated that the females helped her and his entire family immediately accepted her daughter.
I absolutely loved the ending of the story but I think the only thing missing was the conclusion of the night they met. Hopefully it will be brought up in Tris or Max's books.
Big Hugs! SO SWOONY! Dear Lord this book was amazingly everything. My is the sweetest thing ever. Ellis is such a strong independent leading lady. Who holds her own against them all. I absolutely loved this.
Just when I thought these guys couldn't out romance their parents along comes Amias to remind them how it is done. At the heart of all these books both in this series and in the original Men of Steel is the importance of family and no matter what is thrown at them they stay a strong unit. Love at first sight cupids arrow I don't care what it was when Amias sees Ellis he falls and doesn't care who knows it which I loved. I adored little Georgie she is super cute ans I can just see the trouble she will get into with Luna in the future. I love the fierceness passion love and friendship in these books and like my love of chocolate I hope they never end.
I loved everything about Smashed Steel, I loved the story and I adored the characters. Amias Steel is heading for the Major League in his chosen career as a baseball player but a night out wth his buddies is about to turn his world around because that was also the night he met Ellis Stavros. Ellis is just about to finish her doctorate degree in Physical Therapy when she runs into Amias and his buddies, she is in the bar with her best friend Lily who is having her bachelorette party but what both Amias and Ellis never expected was for one night to turn both their worlds totally upside down ..... It was only meant to be one night, it was meant to be a night with no names. In a bling of an eye, everything changed and Amias finds himself in need of a Physical Therapist but the last person he expects to see is the woman from that night and for Ellis starting a new internship may not turn out how she wants when she realises the player she has been assigned to is the man who haunts her dreams, the man with no name..... What happens next, well I guess to you need to read this wonderful story to find that out because that’s all you are getting from me. Amias and Ellis’s journey ticked all my boxes, I fell hard and fast for Amias and I adored Ellis. I smiled and I swooned as I joined this couple on the road to HEA, I was so pleased to be given the opportunity of reading an early addition of the 7th book in Steel Crew Series and I highly recommend you one click this gem of a read. I’m going to leave you with my favourite quote from the book that took my breath away. “ I love us. I love you. The forever kind. Forever mine”
All the balls and bats aligned on this one. The author won the home run derby with this sports romance. Let's just take a look at all the reasons you will need to read this story. If you don't pick it up because you are a fan of the Steel Crew and their fathers before them, then you should want to pick it up just for the smoking hot cover!
Maybe you like sports romance? Yep--- quite a bit of baseball talk in this one. Trades, spring training, rehab of injury. All great stuff.
Maybe you would like it because it is a single parent trope with an adorable little princess who steals the hero's heart from the start? Ellis has worked hard to provided for her daughter and is finally ready to make her way in the world of sports medicine. Lots of baggage to overcome but her chance one night with Amias Steel and her world literally changes forever.
If none of those interest you, then read this book for the hero. He is a man mature for his years, used to hard, dedicated commitment and has a heart just bursting with love ready to share with someone. My and his sisters may have had a rough go for a couple of years, but he is all the better for it and determined to reach out and grab his happy. He has a supportive family and his Crew will support him no matter what.
Amias and Ellis are great together. Loved all the scenes with the Steel family. The epilogue was perfect! So great to see the next - next gen Crew spring to life.
I can't wait to read more in this series.
*Complimentary copy provided for an honest review.
Wow. Just. Wow. This was not how I expected Amias' story to go, but oh my was it absolutely everything. Amias is a whole new level of swoon that I was so not prepared for. I love love love me some Ranger, and I'm pretty sure he's still my favorite. Maybe. Ask me again tomorrow. But Amias is, hands down, my favorite Steel man. Bar none. I didn't expect him to be sweet and mushy and so incredibly gooey. I expected a cocky (he was), jerky athlete who thought he was God's gift to mankind. And don't get me wrong, he has that Steel swagger and confidence, but he has such DEEP emotions under it as well. He was just everything. And Ellis was his anti-match in such a perfect way that she was his perfect match. I just loved them together and the way he accepted, without question, the bomb that was the twist in the story line. Swoon is really the only word to describe it.
When I had to put this book down, I was seriously thinking non-stop about when I could pick it up again. I had major low-grade anxiety any time I had to stop reading and I could not get the story out of my head, constantly wondering what was going to happen next. I was well and truly sucked in. I don't know if a book has ever made me so emotionally invested pretty much from the first page.
Smashed Steel (Steel Crew #7) is a fantastic addition to this series and is a perfect combination of wonderful characters and an enjoyable storyline. All of the books in the series have one common thread running through them and that is family and I just love that about these stories. Ellis and Amias have both had challenges thrown at them but their strength and determination is what separates them from the rest. Amias is going to melt your heart. He is a good guy who has grown up understanding the meaning of love and family so when he meets Ellis he just seems to know that she is it, but he has no way to contact her after their one night stand. Fate, however, has other plans and has thrown them back into each other’s lives. He just has to earn her trust and show her that he worth taking a chance on. Now, is their time to find happiness and it is also a chance for Ellis and her sweet daughter, Georgie to be surrounded by people who truly care and love them both as the entire Steel family welcomes them with open arms!
Amias smashed it out of the park. My new favorite second gen Steel boy! The quiet achiever, who keeps his sisters in check and is always there for the whole Steel family. He is focused, determined and an amazing athlete. At nineteen, his career in minor leage baseball is put in jeapordy when an accident threatens to derail his dreams of playing in the major leagues. But his new physical therapist, Ellis is about to turn his whole world upside down.
This whole story gave me the warm and fuzzy feels. It wasn't massively heavy on the drama and it was an absolute breath of fresh air, still super hot and steamy where it needed to be. Amias was just the right amount of cocky and overprotective that we know and have come to expect from the Steel boys. Once he found his person, in his eyes, it was game, set and match. Georgie was absolutely adorable and melted my heart. The extended family scenes always bring a huge smile to my face, this whole family is just something else. I didn't want this one to end. Absolutely brilliant!
