Leave Him Loved: A Small Town Standalone Romance (Babe Squad Standalones) Kindle Edition

4.3 out of 5 stars 1,190 ratings

"You’re not from here.”

That’s one of the first things Reeve Colton says to me after I bump into him—quite literally.
Our meet-cute deserves a standing ovation, and has the potential to reach romantic proportions.
Heck, we’re already causing all sorts of gossip in this small town.

If only our situation could be that simple.

See, I’m a city girl temporarily relocated to the middle of nowhere for a job.
This is an in-and-out gig that doesn’t need to get more complicated.
After putting our undeniable chemistry on the shelf, Reeve agrees to help me get a lay of the land.
There’s no harm in being friends, right?
Yeah, I’ve heard that before too. But I’m determined to keep our lines from blurring.

Too bad Reeve makes that task nearly impossible with his thoughtful never-ever outings.
Who knew country guys were so charming? Certainly not me.

One little kiss can't do much harm...

Enjoyed Reeve and Audria's story. Audria has her first teaching post as a fill in, in the town of Bampton Valley. To her surpuse she falls in love with the place and people. It was refreshing to read a story with no ex that causes trouble and communication for the most part with these two is great.

Oh reeve stole my heart. I felt so much for these charaters, they were so real like and I want more!

We all need a Farmer in our lives, someone to sweep us off our feet when you least expect it.

This small town romance was delicious, slow burn, real romance with a true relationship with limits. There wasn't one part of this story which I didn't enjoy, Reeve and Audria were delightful in their banter, their joy and passion for each other and the fact that respected each other.

There are so many rushed romances out there now with the insta love, that I think you can become disillusioned with the idea of love. Ms Rae has fully reinstated my love for this genre with a beautiful novel which will leave you smiling for days.

This truly was a joy to read and I won't hesitate to recommend to anyone who needs a pick me up.

I adore Ms. Rae’s ability to draw the reader in from page one. The vivid descriptions in the prologue, of taste, touch and smell, set the scene for this beautifully written story to unfold.

Life’s too fast in so many novels these days. This isn’t a hot mess with insta love, it’s a well thought out plot with believable and extremely likable characters. It’s a true romance.

I loved Reeve with his stunning blue eyes and dark hair. The cover model fitting his character to perfection. Audria, out of her depth in a new town, alone for the first time fresh out of college. It’s the perfect small town romance read, probably one of the best I’ve read in a long time.

Hands down my favourite contemporary so far this year. It’s a celebration of life and love and all its goodness. Easy five stars plus!

5.0 out of 5 stars This Book Makes Me Want to Live In the Country!!!

First, I have to say that I'm a big fan of Harloe Rae's writting! She has a style that draws you into her books and makes you want to live there. I fell in love with Bampton Valley the minute Audria drove into town. It was wonderful experiencing the town through her eyes, mainly as Reeve introduced her to it really!
Audria Griffin is a fresh college graduate who thought she had a great job lined up at a private school in her home town of Minneapolis. Turns out she never had the job and is left scrambling to find a teaching job before the Fall semester starts. The only one she can find in a decent district is in Bampton Valley, Iowa as a long term substitute teacher. So, we start off with the city girl moving to the country. But it's only for a year, then she'll go back home and look for another job. So she thinks!!
I loved Audria as a heroine! She is a smart, sassy, strong, level headed, funny, and just someone you'd want to be friends with. She didn't wallow in the fact that she had to move away from everything she's known to get a job - she embraced it! She went into it deciding to make the best of it and enjoy her time there.
Reeve Colton is just a swoon worthy dream! He's a local corn farmer and a Bampton Valley native. He literally gets run over by Audria on her first day! By a grocery cart and it's a wonderful "meet cute" moment!
Both Reeve and Audria are extremely attracted to each other but don't really think it's a good idea to act on that attraction. Neither wants a serious relationship and she's leaving in a year. They decide to be friends, even though their chemistry is literally burning off the pages!! Reeve takes it upon himself to show her how great country living is by taking her on "never-ever" dates. These dates are just amazing and the true heart of their relationship! This is where their bond is formed. I loved how they spent time together, getting to know each other and becoming true friends before they took their relationship to the physical level. Of course, once they gave in to the chemistry, it was HOT!!!
The secondary characters where just wonderful! I loved Gavin so much! He was a great friend to Reeve and he was great to his "gal pal" Audria. Bea and Sondra were great friends to have in Bampton Valley for Audria, they helped her adjust to the town. All of Audria's friends from back home were wonderful, but mostly Vannah. She was a there for Audria when she needed her the most. Even if she was a bit of a city snob. Gabby, oh I just loved her!!! Reeve's 7 year old niece was a firecracker!!
I so loved this book and hated seeing it end! I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys romance that's fun, funny, swoony, has just the right amount of drama, and a town you just want to visit. I really hope that we get to go back to Bampton Valley again soon!!

Audria graduates from college in Minnesota with her best friends and ready to conker the world as Audria sets her sights on a good job and good school. But as graduation ceremony finishes no word from the school she applied for and accepts a Bampton Valley which is definitely a cross a border. But Audria put her big girl pants on and off she seems the next adventures what she doesn't expect is a swoon worthy Farmer taking her on never dates and sweeping her of her feet.
Reeve Colton farmer manager and good at working with his hands nothing happens in Bampton Valley until he gets attack by a shopping trolley by a beautiful woman. Brilliant met cute and swoon worthy love the story can't wait for more

If you love romance this is your book. Harloe wrote a chalk full dates for Reeve and Audria that may not all be full on romantic to some but for this couple they were. Reeve is a swoon worthy boyfriend that every girl dreams of and wants.
The secondary characters of Gavin and Gabby gives it the humour needed.
    A great read!

I love how unique each of this author’s books feel; they all have completely different vibes, so I never know what to expect going in. That means that certain releases resonate with me more than others, and this particular one wasn’t a great fit – for me. It’s still a solid small town romance with a relationship that builds along the way, but I didn’t enjoy it as much as I had hoped. I’m not a huge fan of couples who are convinced that they can keep feelings out of the equation, especially for the length of time this story encompasses. But I did love all of the dialogue, the playful tone, and the definite small town feel.

The story follows Audria, a woman who finds herself living in a rural community for a year. Audria’s teaching assignment is in the last place she’d hope to live, but this city girl is willing to deal with the farm town – at least temporarily. Which means the immediate attraction she feels to hometown hottie, Reeve, is all kinds of problematic. The good news? He’s not interested in catching feelings either. While the two agree to keep things platonic, that’s easier said than done as the sparks continue to fly between them.

My favorite part of the book is all of the dialogue, and the easy conversation that flows between Audria and Reeve. They’ve got some great chemistry, and there are some seriously steamy moments in here. It’s not so much a slow burn as it is instalust that’s held back until these two finally give in. I would’ve liked a little more buildup and don’t think that the pacing did this any favors. Since Audria is in town for a year, the book spans several months, and we sometimes miss days or weeks where there were significant changes to the relationship or moments that could’ve been developed better. That paired with Audria and Reeves’ continued insistence that they’d be able to sever ties without heartache left me feeling a little disconnected. The writing is solid overall, and I enjoyed the story as a whole, but I can’t say that it’s one of my favorites from the author. I received an early copy (then purchased it for my collection), and am voluntarily leaving a review of this small town romance.
