Troublemaker was the perfect opposites attract love story, and by far, my favorite of the entire series!

Since first meeting Dante in Rascal, we’ve known little to none about him except how secretive and mysterious he is. His rugged and masculine sex appeal has been tantalizing readers since book one, and we’re finally given his story and what really lurks behind his stoic façade.

Hayley we’ve also known since book one. We’ve known her as Emerson’s little sister. Feisty, compassionate, with a quirky sense of humor, Hayley is the completely lovable and energetic best friend everyone wished they had.

Dante and Hayley’s relationship is very different compared to the relationships of the characters in the previous books. Having been in each other’s lives for years, their interactions with one another have built an atmosphere of sexual tension and conflicting emotions and actions. Their undeniable attraction towards each other forces them both to realize that the harder they resist their chemistry, the harder the possibility of falling in love. But where one is willing to risk it all for love, the other can’t accept that they will ever deserve that same love in return.

I’m incredibly sad this series has come to an end, but I’m super excited for what’s to come from the author. Her stories are fantastically written, with equal parts humor and heart. I’ve been a forever fan since reading Royal Player and have loved every book that has come since then. Can’t wait for more!

Trouble is the fifth and final book in the Rascals series. I have not read any of the other books previously in this series and did not feel lost at any point.

Dante and Hayley have been around each other for quite some time but never truly got along. Dante's the silent owner in the bar her brother owns with 3 of his friends. Hayley is the young one of the group and the one her brother and this three friends have always felt the need to protect.

With Hayley and Dante always have been around each other due to the bar, they have built this animosity between them - they argue and put with each other. It's just how it's always been between them until one night when they find themselves in the one place neither expected to find the other.

After that night, there is a lot of sexual tension and underlying attraction between them. However, Dante knows that Hayley is off limits and refuses to breech bro-code. Until Hayley leaves him no choice.

Hayley is one hell of feisty and stubborn woman. She never backs down from anything and refuses to give up so easily on something she wants. And her sights are set on Dante.

Katie surprised me with a few her scenes - they were hot enough that I had to take a break and compose myself!! I really enjoyed watching the dynamics between Dante and Hayley build up and become more.

Overall, this was a great read. There were a few things that I felt were glossed over and others that were ignored, but it didn't hurt the overall vibe of the story. Definitely a recommended read.

First I want to say that I did myself a disservice by not reading this series. Troublemaker is the conclusion to the series and I loved loved it! So I know I will love the other books in the series plus you get the background of Hayley and Dante.

Hayley and Dante's story was a roller coaster ride. They have this love hate friendship that turns into more one night when the lines are crossed. Hayley has always liked Dante but he has kept his distance from her because he is her brothers best friend and that is a no go. But one day Hayley and Dante are arguing and before you know it they are making out. Holy hell that was one argument ending.

Hayley knows he is a handful but she still wants him more than just a friend. Only problem is is that Dante is holding some secrets and those secrets could destroy them before they can build a relationship. Can Hayley break down Dante's walls and get him to open up or will Dante keep her at arms length?

can you believe this was once a favorite?

since i read this book back in 2019 i always said i would re-read it someday, and today was this day.
all i remember about this book was that it was a 'good girl/bad boy' romance and that he gets jealous.

this is a pretty average book, he wants her but he doesn't think he's good enough for her, and she won't give up on him.
what i disliked was that we barely get his pov, i wanted more from his pov and the book felt too fast.

Disclaimer: ARC received in exchange for an honest review

Katie McCoy is back with the last entry in her series about a group of friends and bar owners. Pairing Dante and Hayley, Troublemaker is the final installment in Katie McCoy’s Rascals series.

While Troublemaker is a solid effort in this series and on-brand for McCoy, it lacks some of the charm of its predecessors. Whereas, Emerson and Chase were easy to like and root for, Dante’s dark, broody nature often had him running hot and cold. Because of his temperament, he tends to comes off as brash, bordering on mean, which sometimes makes him inaccessible to readers. Hayley, while well-intentioned, is often petulant, pushy, and not a character that I was able to easily embrace.

Although the couple had some great moments, overall, as a reader I struggled with how easily their relationship developed before dissolving into unnecessary drama. Having Emerson serve as the obstacle in Dante and Hayley’s relationship felt cheap and the angry exchange between Dante and Emerson at the story’s climax didn’t necessarily feel true to either character. McCoy spends four books talking about the great friendship these five men share, only to spend one whole book talking about how little the rest of the men know about Dante. Furthermore, McCoy also frequently repeats throughout the five books how overprotective Emerson and the rest of the guys are of Hayley, but there is little action to ground these declarations in reality. Rather, it seems as if this narrative was pushed simply to achieve tension and set-up conflict for this storyline.

None of this is to say the book is bad, but rather, these are the issues that, for me, make it more unrealistic and less endearing to readers. The storyline often manages to feel lackluster and melodramatic. I did appreciate uncovering a softer side to Dante; his relationship with Bull and his determination to build a place for kids with less-than-ideal homelives were really wonderful aspects of his character. The struggle to rise above one’s past, to be worthy of love and tenderness, to be enough, is universal and these are the qualities that redeemed Troublemaker. While long overdue, I also appreciated McCoy giving Hayley attributes and interests of her own. The strength of the relationship between Dante and Hayley was the unwavering support they showed each other as they branched out and developed their personal and professional interests and passions.

Despite its flaws, the book was an easy, engaging read that will provide a satisfactory completion to the Rascals series. Although Troublemaker is not the strongest installment, McCoy stayed true to the series and certainly put out a product that will delight her readers. Though Troublemaker can be read as a standalone, readers who’ve enjoyed McCoy’s previous works, specifically the Rascals series thus far, will appreciate this conclusion.

Troublemaker is the fifth and final book in the Rascals series by Katie McCoy. I have been with this group since the very beginning and have loved each couple and their stories. I have been waiting for Dante and Hayley’s story since reading about them in the same room. The tension has been there all along and now it’s time to do something about it.

Dante has always been a mystery. Even to his best friends. He has his secrets and doesn’t want to talk about them or his past. So, he stays quiet and that makes him look like an ass at times. His friends are used to his attitude and disappearing acts. Except for Hayley. She wants to know what makes him tick. She also wants to make him smile. A real one. Not the one he puts on to please others. But a genuine one. He might tease her, calling her a princess and all but she also feels the tension coming off him when she is around. She definitely wants the man. Who wouldn’t? But does he want her or is she reading him all wrong?

No. She is right. 100% correct. Dante wants her. Badly. And has since the moment he laid eyes on her. But, then he was cockblocked when he found out who her brother was. A friend. And a friends’s sister was definitely off-limits. And ten years later...she still was. But, can he resist the temptation after a kiss that sets off a train wreck waiting to happen?

Dante and Hayley’s relationship is hot and heavy, sweet and sugary, and dangerous. I loved them. They each have their reasons for secrets and them together is just an added one. What will happen when all the secrets come to light? Will they be forced apart or will it bring them closer than ever?

Overall....I am so sad this series is over. At the same time, this was the perfect conclusion. The Rascals’ family is full of passion, protectiveness, loyalty, and love.

Quotes:

It didn’t matter if he kissed like a depraved angel. As far as I was concerned, Dante was the devil himself.

But when she looked at me . . . Those big brown eyes always got me. Because when she looked at me, I saw the man I wanted to be.

“You’re right,” he finally said.
“Can I get that in writing?” I joked.
“I’ll have my lawyer draw up the paperwork,” my father said with a grin before he sobered.

Sad to see this series end.

Troublemaker is the fifth and sadly the final book in the ‘Rascals’ series by Katie McCoy and as I said in my review for book 4, (Soulmate) she kept the best for last. I always knew Dante and Hayley’s story would be fantastic and I wasn’t disappointed/
We’re had little tidbits and tasters from both of them in the previous 4 books, Dante is afterall, best friends with the other guys and a part owner of the bar. Hayley is Emerson’s younger sister and for that reason alone, Dante has tried to keep his distance.
He’s been cold and distant, arrogant and callous with her feelings for a long time and in this book we finally find out why.
Hayley always knew Dante was hot, but after getting to spend some proper alone time with him, she found there was more to this ‘bad boy’ than she realized. She also discovered she had feelings she’d been denying for a long time too.
I always knew there was a deeper side to him but it was Hayley’s more pragmatic and enterprisings side that was the real revelation. She’s a hard worker, even if it’s not in paid employment. Her endeavours help a lot of people. She was sweet and kind, but with Dante she found a whole new side and it brought the best out in her. She helped Dante to find his inner sensitive guy, the one he’s been hiding for years.
Dante has a troubled past, and is wary of getting too close to Hayley and breaking the no.1 rule of the ‘bro-code’, plus he comes from the wrong side of the tracks, all things which make him feel undeserving of such a sweet, giving soul like Hayley.
But, now that’s she’s found her man, Hayley isn’t ready to give up so easily and wants to tell the world and her brother just exactly how happy they are together. Try as he might, the off the chart chemistry they share is hard to fight. These two were a volcanic match and each scene burned with their attraction. I loved the sassy banter and the wicked times they shared.
Seeing these two get their HEA was the best ending to this brilliant series. Hope we get to catch up with all five couples again in the future.

Dante and Haley are the two people on the sidelines of the group. We never saw much insight into who they were, other than surface descriptions. They were very different in reality.
Dante was the quiet one, the one that though he was your friend, he wasn’t well known. Haley was the bubbly, socialite sister, the one who was dismissed as having the perfect life.
As I said, these two were so much more. And so perfect for each other. Haley wasn’t a stuck-up rich girl who only hosted gala’s. Dante wasn’t the criminal minded trouble that everyone deep down assumed.
I loved that they knew the real person each of them was, and that they had that to themselves for a little while. And it was great to see the other guys have to eat a little crow when they finally found out who Dante really was.
Dante has issues, of course he does after the way he grew up, and he screws up because of them. But the way he made up for it was perfect.
The ending, because it was the last book, I would have liked more than a perceived future for them all.

Who doesn’t love a older brother best friend story?!?! These two were hot!!! Dante and Hayley are now my favorites from this group of friends. Dante has always seen Hayley as off limits because of his friendship with her older brother. But he’s wanted her from the first time he saw her and didn’t know who she was. He also thinks that she deserves someone better than him. Hayley has always had a crush on the secretive sexy Dante and she doesn’t care that he’s her brother best friend; she wants him.

The tension between these two is noticeable if the others pay attention. But one night changes everything. Dante thinks it’s a mistake and Hayley sees it as an opening to get closer to Dante. He’s stubborn and she’s persistent and I loved it. When he can no longer resist her we see fireworks. These two together are just wow and we see a side of Dante that he’s had hidden and I loved it.

There was a minor hiccup and it broke my heart but then what Dante did to get her back warmed my heart. I want more from these two.

Troublemaker by Katie McCoy is the fifth and final book in her Rascals series. We have met and seen Dante Delgado and Haley throughout the series and now they get their own story! This is a bit of a forbidden story with a brother’s best friend/younger sister off limits romance.

Dante was like the silent partner and friend. We had not seen or learned much about him in the previous books. There was a bit of mystery around him and what he does. Haley is the younger sister of one of the owners, fun, and easy-going. They had great chemistry once they gave in to their attraction but had to figure some things out along the way.

I am sad to say goodbye to this set of friends and owners of a neighborhood bar. I have truly enjoyed reading this series and feel like they are my friends. Troublemaker by Katie McCoy was a fun and steamy read.

A fabulous conclusion to a series full of sexy hunks and their journeys to love. Saved the best for last? I think so! Finally, the mysterious sexy Rascal, Dante is front and center and we get to find out all his secrets. The big one...his interest in Hayley, his friend's sister. You just knew from previous stories that Hayley was a goner for Dante but can she convince him to risk her brother's wrath and give them a chance? I love Hayley's spunk, which counters her shyness, and her determination to get her man. These two are a sexy couple and deserve their happiness even in secret. But you know secrets never stay secret. Great friends and family atmosphere with the Rascals and their lovelies. Terrific series with fantastic writing and wonderful characters. Can't beat it! Five guys. One bar. And a whole heap of sexy trouble...

I love the brother’s best friend/forbidden romance troupe so I was excited to get my hands on Troublemaker featuring Dante, the fifth owner of Rascals, and Hayley the sister of Emerson, Dante’s friend and business partner. From the first time we met Dante and Hayley there was something between them. Maybe it was just looks across a bar or maybe there was something more. Either way I wanted to know because we were left analyzing every one of their interactions in the other books in the Rascals series .

I really enjoyed Troublemaker and all of the sweet, sexy, fun moments it delivered. It was different than I expected because I thought I knew who Hayley and Dante were to each other when I read about them in the previous books. I was pleasantly surprised by story's progression and was thrilled to finally know the truth.

Dante is closed off, broody, and a mystery. He never fully lets anyone in, including his close friends, and isn't looking for a relationship. He had a rough childhood but was lucky to meet Bull, a gym owner who took him under his wing. It takes a long time to figure out who Dante really is but when we do we see the wonderful man underneath.

I liked Hayley from the moment I met her. She is fresh, fun, and has a huge heart. She is good but she definitely likes the kind of bad the Dante can offer. She wants him and I love that she goes after him even though he is “off limits.”
“There’s something there…Chemistry, attraction, whatever you want to call it, but it’s there. And I don’t want to ignore it.”

Hayley makes it obvious she wants Dante and the sexual tension spikes after the hot first kiss, leaving you wanting more. Dante feels their connection but he needs to stay away from his best friends sister because he has no control when he is around her. However, they can’t seem to avoid each other and when they are together they are on fire.
I loved how raw, how intense he was. He wasn’t going to coddle me. He wasn’t going to protect me. He was going to take me. And I wanted it. I wanted it so badly I was practically shaking.

There’s a bit of back and forth that is frustrating but I love that Hayley doesn’t back down. She is just what Dante needs.
When she looked at me . . .
Those big brown eyes always got me. Because when she looked at me, I saw the man I wanted to be. The man I had once hoped I could be. The man I knew I could never be. But she made it feel like it was possible. She made me feel like I could do anything.

No matter how different they thought they are, Dante and Hayley end up being perfect for each other and I love them together. And though Dante’s story marks the ending of the series and I am sad to see the Rascals go, it was a wonderful conclusion and wrapped everything up in a delightful way!

Damn! I’m so sad right now! That ending made me shed a few tears cause it was so sweet and it just made me realize I was going to miss these crazy and beautiful family. I’ve read the whole series so I was DYING for Dante and Hayley’s book. It definitely didn’t disappoint! Their relationship was explosive and passionate. I loved seeing Dante open up, it was lovely to see this new side of him and to know more about the aspirations and desires Hayley had too! She is one feisty little woman whom I loved since the moment I met her back in book 1! I adored them both and even though I’m sad to say goodbye to this world, I’m happy with how everything turned out!!

Goes down as another off my 2019 Bookworm Bingo Challenge – A book with a one word title.

So we finally get the story that has been hinted at right from the start. You could see a mile off that Hayley was into Dante but he always kept everything so close to his chest that you could never be sure what he was thinking. Something that Hayley is adamant is about to change after getting a taste of what she has been dreaming about.

Hayley might be casually seeing Mike but it really isn’t going to go anywhere. He is the type of boyfriend her parents want for her but not really someone who she thinks she should be with. His kisses are nice but she wants spectacular – mainly she wants Dante as she’s sure his kisses are going to be in the spectacular spectram. The fact her words are soon to be ‘from the most epic, sexy, explosive kiss in my life’ you’d say yes to that. She’s wanted him forever and it seems the feelings mutual, so what’s holding him back.

Dante is our man of mystery that she really wants to solve. Her thoughts always seem to go to naughty places when she sees him. Well right before she wants to hit him over the head for being his normal asshole self. Now it seems said mystery man holds a poker game for a select few, not completely on the up and up though. So when Hayley walks in with her date Mike he’s none too happy she’s there. Unless he wants a scene though she’s staying to get some answers. In the end she just gets kissed the lovely hell out of which leads to more questions running round her head, mainly to him ghosting her for a while after the fact.

Dante has a reason for everything but he keeps it all close to his chest. Good intentions and motives to help others but he doesn’t always act the part. He helps out at his old gym with mentor Bull. As he’s getting on in years Dante wants to continue his work at the gym with young kids that are like he was at that age – angry with the world and needing some guidance, discipline, stability and support. Bull’s still good to give Dante advice to get his head on straight it’s just a shame it didn’t work with his foster brother Nicky. He was in and out of foster care, like Dante, but always has a way to find trouble, blaming Dante for all of it too. It’s this trouble that Dante thinks he has which makes him think that he doesn’t deserve someone like Hayley as she’s too good for him. That is about to change though if she’s got anything to do with it.

These two getting together was never going to be straight-forward, they were going to have some fun, or maybe chaos, along the way. Its like they are feeling each other out to see what next step should – more him than her – when really they want to just pounce on each other. She just needs to find a way to spend more time together – self defence training anyone? Getting all hot and sweaty in the gym is sure to lead to getting hot and sweaty somewhere else right? Though I’d say it might have more to do with a certain little black dress she wears just for him. One Dante is dying to rip off her – well unless she beats him to it. Let’s just say she won’t look at a poker table the same way ever again.

On a lighter note it turns out that Hayley is now the lead singer of a band called Purple Sunday. When she decides to make the next move and ask him on a date she gets him to meet her at their first gig. Its like she wanted something to connect them together with no-one else involved. I also liked that when she finally needed to talk to someone about Dante she picked Juliet. Funny for her as she always thought something was going on between them. To quote ‘You guys are always staring at each other.’

Their group get together’s just get more fun with each book. The rest of the couples together for a movie night where Dante and Hayley have to pretend they haven’t seen each other naked. That sounds like fun. More so when hot texts turn into sneaking away for a stolen moment where anyone could walk in, talk about heat rising. Yeah they weren’t going to stay long when they really needed to be alone together. Hot as hell comes to mind and with each encounter they just burn hotter.

Funny how its Dante that wants to tell Emerson and the others about them first, doesn’t want to lie and hide. Hayley knows how protective they all are and how they will butt in so wants it just between them for a little while. Fall out won’t be good though. The women will be all for it as they’ve figured out the chemistry long ago, the guys are just all oblivious. How long can they stay in their heated inferno before someone gets burnt?

Loved how all the couples are interlinked in each story. Emerson and Alex, Chase and Kelsey, Liam and Juliet, and Sawyer and Gabi. Took Dante and Hayley a little longer than most but worth the wait. Now that’s the way to make a good apology. Swoon worthy is all I’ll say. Seems these five rascals got more than they bargained for when they opened the bar. One by one taken down by love and, in the end, none of them minding in the slightest.

Great series from start to finish, lots of interesting, unique characters and couple pairings throughout. Also love how each series has a few characters that cross over into each other. Lets see what series comes next.

I received this ARC from the author for my honest review.

In the first four books of Katie McCoy’s Rascals series, readers have been given very little insight into who exactly Dante Delgado is, keeping him quite the mystery man and allowing us to learn who he really is through his own words and actions without the preconceived notions of his friends.
And even though Haley Hayes is Emerson’s little sister and by proxy the rest of the Rascals’ honorary sister, there’s more to her than what others are willing to see, which means that by the time Troublemaker is finished and readers and other characters have been enlightened about who this final couple in the series is, it will be made perfectly clear why Dante and Haley were willing to risk a lifelong friendship and a certain brother’s wrath.

Dante is Haley’s bother’s best friend, which means that for all intents and purposes, she should be declared off-limits, but there’s a mutual attraction between them…an intrigue…a simmering of sexual tension that neither has acted on but it remains nonetheless, so when Dante and Haley find themselves succumbing to their more than familial connection, no longer fighting their non-plutonic feelings for each other, the trouble has only just begun and what this means for their relationship as well as the ones they both have with the other Rascals are bound to get a little messy and a whole lot dramatic until everyone finally sees and understands who Dante and Haley are and just how much their differences make them a perfect match.

I loved getting to know Dante and Haley and the time they had to themselves to get their bearings under them when it came to their new more than friends' relationship meant that they were the only two people who knew what they were starting and they could get lost in each other’s arms before they had to face their friends and family, and in my opinion, that time allowed them to understand just how much they feel for one another and just how strong they are as a couple.

I so want Haley to be my BFF. She’s passionate…fun…intelligent, and there’s just enough sass and feistiness in her to stand up to her brother and stand her ground if anyone else questioned her choice to be with Dante. Is it possible or even probable that some will take issue with these two being together…absolutely, and will Dante more than likely mess up along the way, not only with Haley but also with his best friends and their perceptions…yep, but being able to witness these lifelong friends turn into something more made it beyond clear that these two could weather the storm, as long as they held on tight to each other.

It’s been so much fun getting to know Katie McCoy’s handsome rascals and the women who tame them; each one has his own unique attributes, bringing an interesting dynamic into their business, and the way these five guys interact with each other and with the women who they claim make for steamy and hilarious reads.

I have finished this book in one sitting, but took me long to review it because of the unexpected holidays that I have. Anyway - let me start by saying: YOU SHOULD READ THIS!

Since the first book, you can already feel the tension between Dante and Hayley, and I was just waiting for Dante to finally acknowledge it, or for Hayley to finally make a move first herself. They always argue, but it was more of a foreplay, and I, as a reader is just waiting for everything to combust spontaneously and see where this all ends.

When they found themselves in a place neither one of them imagined, it started all this string-pulling. But Hayley was determined, and feisty. She will do everything to get into the bottom of it, and fight for everything she wants and that everything was Dante.

While Dante tries to move back and respect the bro-code and the fact that he wasn't good enough for Hayley. Definitely a mood killer there. But never underestimate a girl with a mission.

Troublemaker was not just my favorite book in this series, but it was the most sexiest. Yep, enough to make you squirm and blush.

They said to save the best for last, and indeed Katie McCoy did that. I have been waiting for Dante's story ever since the first book. Yep, I have to wait THAT long. But it was worth it. Because as I have predicted, this would really be my favorite. Katie McCoy delivered an epic ending to her amazing Rascal Series!

The last book in the Rascals series and I have to say that I am sorry to see these guys go.
I have been enthused by each of the guys and the women that have won their hearts, and this was no exception. One by one as the guys have settled down and found their happy ever afters, I was wondering who would be the lucky lady to catch the eye of the sexy as sin Dante.
Well I didn’t have to wait long, and I was more than a little surprised when Haley entered the frame, because there are opposites and then there is Dante and Hayley, the one guy that she probably should steer well clear of and the woman who is the total personification of being out of his league!
But could the girl with the world at her feet, be the woman to bring Dante to his knees? Oh, you bet she could!!
I loved the details of the story, the fact that much of Dante’s personality has been a closely guarded secret, he has always been lurking in the shadows of Rascals, very really putting much of himself into the business, in fact he put more of himself into activities that that may have had the authorities playing very close attention, had he not been so astute.
The author made sure that despite the lure of this slightly dangerous air about him, he was a man that you wanted to get to know, he was moody and mysterious but darn it I was smitten.
With regards to Hayley, well there wasn’t much that had been let slip in the previous stories other than they fact she was Emerson’s little sister and since Dante and Emerson were partners, it appeared that any connection between the two of them was destined to be far from smooth sailing. The author pitched this just perfectly, it was not only great fun but it was also engagingly angsty, neither Hayley or Dante were what I expected them to be, they were strong characters who were dogged with not only self-doubt but also familial interference, her old folks and her brother were a force to be reckoned with!
With questions that just kept on coming, I couldn’t help but wonder whether what they could have was enough to keep them both where they needed to be?
Highly recommended.

I have been waiting for Dante and Hayley’s story since I read the very first Rascals book! KM saved the best couple for last!

Throughout these interconnected standalones, we have seen glimpses of burly Dante and how he pushes every one of Hayley’s buttons. Hayley, of course, is Emerson’s younger sister, and by proxy, the younger sister of all the Rascals guys. Except that Dante didn’t know who she was the very first time he met her, and was immediately smitten. So he’s kind of been tempted by the forbidden fruit that is his buddy’s off-limits little sister for a few years now. But when one of their verbal sparring matches leads to the hottest kiss either one of them has experienced, all bets are off!

I loved getting to know Dante better. He’s a product of the foster system, with no blood family, and the Rascals are as close to a family as he has. Well, them and Bull, the owner of the boxing gym he’s looking to buy. Bull saved his life as a troubled teen, and Dante wants to give back the same way. I loved how ambitious he was. For a guy with rather low self-esteem who never thought he’d amount to much, Dante is part owner of Rascals, owns a gym and is looking to buy a second. Sure, he’s not the stockbroker type that Hayley’s socialite mom expects her to date, but Dante has drive and ambition in spades. And who knew sour and salty Dante was such a sweet gentleman?!

As with most stories in the brothers best friend trope, Dante and Hayley are sneaking around, afraid of Emerson’s reaction. So when it all blows up, will Dante realize that he is a better man with Hayley, and a man deserving of her love, or still see himself as the troublemaker he’s always been told he was?

I am going to miss the Rascals! I loved this group of friends! Troublemaker is a standalone, but this group is so cool, you should start with #1 and work your way through!! I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.

Start the slow clap! What an amazing book. Troublemaker was the book I was looking forward to most. This book basically started in book one, but this is now the time that we get to know more intimate details. I really enjoyed the plot and characters.
If you have been following the series, then you knew this book was coming. Hayley and Dante have been a source of tension over the span of these books. I mean we know there is something more than what we are reading. This book is what tells us what that is. We get to see what is going on and get better insight into each character.
Hayley has always been a favorite of mine. She is spunky and confident. I love her determination and the fact that she is happy just being her. Then you have Dante. He can be kind of a jerk, but I can see his reasonings behind it. He is the series darker version of Eeyore. Loveable, but still has a lot of baggage. I really loved him.
The heat between these two has been there since book one. Their chemistry is one that has been seen and commented on by many of the other characters. So to see their heat through the eyes of each character is a blessing. The heat continues to climb higher as you read each page.
The writing style of this book is great. The story is told from a dual point of view. This is so important in this story especially because we really haven’t had a chance to get to know him due to his quiet nature. I liked that we got to see the other characters in the series as well. This was really a great ending to a series.
Overall, I really liked this book. Dante was everything I expected and more. This book was a quick and easy read with everything needed to make a great novel. Nothing felt forced in this book. Needless to say, I would recommend this book to others.

Writing this review for Troublemaker is a lot harder than I expected. This is such an enjoyable series and I'm sad that it's over. Each story in the Rascals series was fun, sexy and heart touching. The one thing that they had in common before I got to book #5 was the teasing of a tall, dark, handsome and mysterious man.

I waited so long to learn more about Dante Delgado. Katie McCoy teased the hell out of him in each story, it might have not been done on purpose but she always left me wanting more. Dante has his secrets, but behind that tough and troublemaking exterior is a man that loves hard. He's loyal to his best friends and determined to get what he wants. His only problem is that he doesn't feel deserving of all the good things that come his way, especially deserving of a beautiful lady. Is this relationship worth losing his best friends?

I fell in love with Hayley in book one, she is Emerson's little sister, so that made her the little sister to all of his best friends except one who could never forget the first time he met her. Hayley is a socialite, loved by many and protected by the men in her life so I was happy to find that she is tougher than I had expected. Her independence stands out in this story, I love her determination to go after what she wants and her strength during heartache.

I'm going to miss this group of sexy bar owners and the women that stole their hearts. This story has it all, a passionate chemistry, the struggle of falling for the one that's off limits, memorable characters, heartbreak and fighting for true love. I can't wait to see what Katie McCoy has in store for her readers.

5 Dante Delgado Stars!

He is everything and more than I had anticipated.

Ahh!! What an epic ending!!!!! Out of all of the girls I have to say Hayley is my freaking favorite!!!! I am so super sad that this series is coming to an end but what an ending it was!!! These characters has me from book one and wouldn’t let go!!!

Hayley had my heart from the beginning but she was always a supporting character that we hadn’t gotten to really know yet and boy did she knock me off my feet!! Everything about her just surprised me but also made me super proud of her and everything she’s accomplished! She is the total freaking package and boy I was hopeful for things to be so different with her and this incredible author wrote some talented shit!!!

Dante..... oh the man of few words made me need to change my underwear so many times!! I couldn’t put this book down because every encounter made me hotter and hotter and I just needed to see what would happen the next time. As bad as this sounds... I wasn’t sure I would actually like Dante. 😳 I know! I know! Craziness! But I got infuriated with him and freaking several other people during some horrible times of this book! I wanted to scream I got so kissed off and him! Luckily I have a hopeful heart and held off cutting off his balls to see what he would do!!

EPIC! Just best ending and best series! Every time I picked up these books I was swept away to a local bar with these hunk of men that knew how to smile and sweep these women off their feet! I’m so damn excited for everyone to read about them and make this a best seller!! Congrats Katie!!! You did an amazing job with these books and I can’t wait to see what you do next!!

I thoroughly enjoyed the concluding part to the Rascal's series, and Dante's book is the one we've all been waiting for. Although I think this book could be read as a standalone, having read the rest of the series in order, Dante and Hayley's relationship/friendship is one I've been itching to find out more about! We've seen them tiptoeing around one another and know that something is going on there, and finally we get to see exactly what that is!

Dante is hugely secretive and mysterious about everything he does. About his past, about his day to day life. And apart from knowing he is a partner in the Rascals bar owned by him and his friends, that is it. But what we do know is how hot he is, the sexy, dark, brooding mysterious man! DO we finally get to know more about him?

Hayley is Dante's best friends little sister so is totally off limits. They have a bit of a love-hate relationship. Hayley doesn't know when to stop and pushes and pushes, whereas Dante simply pushes away! Often coming across and grumpy, moody and little harsh at times. When Hayley crosses paths with Dante, seeing him a part of his life he like likes to keep a secret, Hayley wants to know more.

The connection and chemistry between these two is huge so when they come to blows, suddenly lines are blurred! I loved these two characters and thought that their coupling created the perfect conclusion to this enjoyable series. With a few secrets and revelations from both parties, their friendship & relationship isn't going to be easy, but sure makes for a fun read!

I'll miss Rascals bar and all the characters!

4 Stars

Troublemaker is the final book in author Katie McCoy’s Rascals series. The series has followed the exploits of the five hotties who own a Chicago neighborhood bar called Rascals. This final book features Dante and Haley. Does the kid from the wrong side of the tracks get the socialite princess?

Dante is the strong, silent type, and his involvement in the bar seems to have been primarily monetary—almost a silent partner. Consequently, he has remained very mysterious; he has a bit of a dark vibe to him with inferences to activities that may be not-so legal. Most of what had previously been divulged about Haley is that she is the kid sister of one of the owners (Emerson). I loved Ms. McCoy’s elaboration on these two characters. Dante’s past and Haley’s present make them very interesting characters!

The story is fun, fun, fun! The plot sails along, and the there is just the right amount of angst provided mainly from Dante and Haley’s self-doubts. As the two get bolder, each in their own way, their chemistry becomes combustible, but there are many outside factors that make a relationship seem off limits. Will her judgmental parents or her overprotective brother get in the way? Will Dante be able to stay out of trouble and on the right side of the law? Will Hayley’s new-found career keep her too busy? Read Troublemaker to find out!!

Yeee…. boy! Troublemaker gives us terribly fun opposites attract love story with some brother’s best friend heat. These series has been insanely good and I’ve loved all these Rascals! Dante has been the most private Rascal of all of them and, maybe because of that, I’ve been fascinated with him. Hayley’s is the little sister of Dante’s best friend, Emerson. Hayley is a blast. She’s upbeat and seriously quirky. She’s been about since book 1 and I really feel like I got to know her pretty good before getting her book. It’s seriously a hoot to see her with Dante… this big ol’ sexy and rugged man. These two… oh man, they had some pent up heat and some mad sexual attraction. You’d think they were about to combust around each other.

Katie McCoy has entertained us now for five books. They are written thoroughly and so perfectly written with so much fun, so much heat! This is one of the best books from the series. I feel like Katie McCoy gave us such a fun story. It was quick and light, yet, there was a more serious side to the story that I really enjoyed. McCoy’s writing keeps getting better… she gives us these deep characters with this multi-layers… like real people.

I received an ARC of this book with the hope that I would leave an Unbiased Opinion. I was not required to leave a review, positive or otherwise, and my opinions are just that... my opinions.

What a great ending to the Rascal’s series, I have read all 5 books in the series and I have loved them all. Dante and Hayley have been behind the scenes throughout the series and it was nice to finally get their stories.

Dante has been hiding his true feelings for years, feeling that he was not good enough to be with Hayley or that her brother would not approve. Hayley knows what she wants in a man and Dante ticks all those boxes, she knows that if he gave her a chance, they would make it. When it starts to get heated, Dante takes a step back to keep Hayley safe and protect himself. Dante has to make a choice; Break the heart of the woman he loves or step up and be the man he needs to be.

Dante is a closed book, he is gruff and doesn’t enjoy anyone prying into his personal life; he continues everyday trying to be the person everyone needs. Hayley is the princess; she is rich, comes from an amazing family and has a heart of gold. Always putting everyone else first and trying to solve their problems.

I personally loved this story, 2 very different people who come together and face challenges together, I am so sad that this series is over but I cannot wait for McCoy to unleash a new book as I know ill fall in love with whatever she writes next.

First off I'm sad the series is over. I loved all the characters.

But this one just felt so forced. There were many things that didn't flow with me. One being, in the first 4 books all the girls saw that Hayley had a thing for Dante. Yet, when it came time Hayley states it's a new development. Then you have her agonizing over a kiss for several chapters. It. Was. A. Kiss.

Add in her new found career as a singer. (WHAT????) If it had be hinted at throughout the other books that she was off doing something a bit secretive then maybe. But to join a band, never to be a lead singer before and never been in a band. Then within like a month do a gig, then do a huge audition. It just didn't flow with me.

Like I said, it was good, but not my favorite and it went in so many directions. With each book it was touted that the guys were protective of Hayley, yet when she almost DIES in a fire, NOTHING. Not a peep.

I still loved the series and I was so looking forward to Hayley and Dante and maybe I just hyped it up to much in my head. I feel like we never really got a good true love story. We rarely got Dante's point of view and when we did it was all angst. I didn't really get WHY he loves her. We know that Hayley has loved him throughout the series, yet his pov didn't really give us that.

I volunteered to read an advance copy.

I'm really bummed this series has come to an end. I've been dying for Dante and Hayley's story since book 1.

We've read little things and snide comments from the guys about Hayley in the past books, and she came off as a spoiled princess that plans benefits during the day, shops etc. She was way more than that. She really surprised me with everything she was involved in and how giving she was. She is honest, giving, sweet and so hot for her brothers best friend. There is just something about Dante that brings these funny feelings and curiosity out of her.

Dante has had a rough childhood and tough time growing up. So, he feels like he needs to go at everything alone. Even though he has the Rascal guys, he is still keeping his distance and doesn't think he deserves greatness in his life. He has always felt a pull towards Hayley but she is his best friends sister, also belonging to an affluent family. Something he always considered himself never being good enough for. Hayley and Dante's chemistry is on FIRE!!! Scorching HOT. They are amazing together. I love reading Dante's happiness come through. I love it.

I love love love their story. I am so sad its come to an end, but so happy to finally get their story. LOVED!

Troublemaker is the final book in the Rascal series. We've met four sexy bar owners who had found their perfect match in the previous four books. It's finally Dante and Hayley's turn. The author fed us tidbits about Dante and Hayley throughout the series leaving us wanting more.

Dante is the elusive member of the Rascal's bunch. He's a silent partner with a troublesome past. Although Dante is attracted to Hayley, he won't go near her. Hayley is his best friend/business partner's younger sister and totally off limits. Dante doesn't do relationships. He's the broody, introverted type.

Hayley knows Dante is off limits since he's her brother's best friend. However all bets were off after a steamy kiss ignited the smoldering chemistry between them. Hayley also has her own secret.

Dante is the bad boy of the Rascal's group. While Hayley is the good girl. This story is a serious case of when opposites attract. I love Dante. He's mysterious, sexy and full on broody! Hayley is strong and doesn't give up. They make a great couple. Although I found Hayley's secret a little over the top, I really enjoyed the story. 4 Stars
