4.4 out of 5 stars 1,084 ratings

Finlay Thatcher is a lost soul, guilt-ridden after the death of her twin brother. When Alabama's football coach gives her the opportunity to work for him, she knows it's her chance to move on, even if it means living her brother's dream.

Caden Brooks is Alabama's star quarterback. He's got it all. The attention of adoring fans. A girlfriend who'd do anything to hold on to him. And a future in the pros. He's getting along just fine until Finlay steps into his life, despising him at first sight and pushing his buttons like no other.

Unfortunately for Finlay, and her attempt to keep Caden at arm's length, there's nothing Caden loves more than a challenge. The problem with this challenge is she comes with a secret that has the power to destroy everything.

I loved this book, I loved the slow build up between caden and finlay, how she made him work for it. I also loved Finlay's back story and I felt her heartbreak for her lost brother. A great read I would highly recommend and I will definitely be reading more from this author.

This was a sweet college romance that was lovely to read and one that I would certainly recommend. I shall be on the lookout for the next book coming up Forester's story.

Sometimes you come across a book that makes you wish that you had read it a lot sooner because you liked it so much. Well, ‘For Finlay’ is one of those books for me. I love sport romance books and new adult stories and this book is a combination of both. I’m so happy that I discovered this writer and this series and I will definitely read more books of J. Nathan.

‘For Finlay’ is a new adult book so there is a bit of drama in it but it’s very light and I liked that. The story is writing fluently and it’s an easy read. The story is told from both POV’s.

I liked both characters very much. Finlay isn’t afraid to tell Caden the truth but never not in a bad way. She’s just being honest with him (well, except about one little thing). Both Caden (and I) love that about her. Caden is a good guy. Yes, he had a few wild years when he was younger but now, he’s ready for more. He only has to find the right girl to give his heart to.

One of the things that I appreciated in this story is the fact that Finlay and Caden first build a friendship with each other and that they respected the fact that Caden had a girlfriend. Although you felt the chemistry growing between them, Caden never cheated. I liked that very much. And once they decided to go for it, the sex scenes were hot. Another thing that I loved about this story was the fact that although this is a theme that is used a lot in sport romance books (hot quarterback) the story still was interesting and refreshing to me.

So if you are also a fan of the books of Kristen Callihan or Elle Kennedy than you have to try this series too.

I think this is for a younger generation but of it's type the story has been written well. Finley lost her brother who was a rising star as an American footballer and through some misconception she hated his team mate Caden. They got to know each other when she got a job with the team then Caden wanted to get close.

A gorgeously sweet, sassy and sexy love story that will tear you apart and imprint itself in your heart.

To me For Finlay is one of those books that will always stay with me. It has left a mark that will never be erased. There aren't many characters, or stories that have managed that. I can't begin to even tell you what this book will do to you as a reader. But, let me try. For Finlay takes you in, steals your heart, breaks it, patches it back up and never gives it back to you. Maybe it's just me, but that is exactly what a true love story is.

The feels that I felt for this book were unreal. Whilst reading this, I was feeling the emotion that Finlay felt for her brothers loss. It hit home because I do not know how I would cope if I lost my sibling. Especially since they were twins. She was offered a job by the coach of her brothers old football team. By taking it she felt as though she was living out her brothers dream through her.
Unfortunately, this is where Caden Brooks is. The person who she hates the most. She was keeping him so far away from her. Caden noticed that she was being off with him and nobody else but he did not know why.

‘That was the moment. The moment I swore to hate Caden Brooks with everything I had.’

When you want to hate someone so much, it is an easy job until you actually meet them and they start saying nice things to you. Hating them becomes a very difficult thing to do.

‘I don’t want to be the guy who hurts you, Finley. I want to be the one who lifts you up. The one you want when you’re sad and need comfort.’

This book was amazing in my opinion. I words brought out so much emotion and that is what I love in a book. There were sad and upsetting moments but that was overpowered by the happier and funnier scenes. I would love to read more on the other characters in this book, like the other members of the football team.

I don’t think I was adequately prepared for how hard I would sob like it was shark week and I had no chocolate during this book. Nobody warned me. Why did nobody warn me?!?! This really is a story of finding love, purpose, understanding and forgiveness while coming to terms with unimaginable grief. It’s not all doom and gloom or ridged seriousness so don’t worry the characters are funny too, well written and there are quite a few lighter moments.
