The Wellington Way. My mother's favorite motto wasn't something I bought into, even after watching each of my cousins fall hard and fast for their women. That all changed the night Alyssa Covington came into my life like a whirlwind, showing me exactly what I'd been missing. It took just one night for her to knock me on my ass, twist me inside out, and fall head over cock. The morning after? She left without a second glance in her rearview mirror. Fortunately for me, her sister's marrying my cousin, and there's no way she can escape me now. The only problem? She wants nothing to do with me. Little does Alyssa know, I never give up, even if I have to fight dirty. ** My sister told me there was nothing like loving a Wellington. I didn’t buy it. Until I found out that stranger I gave my virginity to? Shane Wellington. He’s the antithesis of my dream man, yet it took just one night for me to become addicted. Unfortunately for us, that perfect night led to a disastrous morning after and I did what I do best. I ran, fooling myself by thinking I could quickly get him out of my system. When circumstances throw us together again, I can't forget the time we spent together. His piercing blue eyes hold me hostage, and I know the truth. Shane and I aren't over. Oh no, we've just begun. The only problem? It doesn't matter what I want. I can have nothing to do with him.
What happens when the perfect one-night stand just isn't enough?
Tessa is a twenty-something book junkie who's also obsessed with sports. She's a research analyst by day, writer by night, and married to her best friend for over a decade. If she's not writing, you can probably find her curled up with her Kindle and a glass of wine or cheering on the Reds, Bengals, and Buckeyes!
AWWW… How I ADORE these Wellingtons! And damn, did Alyssa put Shane through the ringer! Sexy, emotional, witty with a touch of funny, Conflict is the perfect addiction to this already spectacular Wellington series!
Shane and Alyssa’s first meeting, first night, was combustive to say the least. Having met in circumstances outside their usual environments, even after just one night, they know the big impact of their insta-connection.
As if one taste, one feel of her was enough to make me become an addict. It’s one addiction I’ll never try to combat.
But destiny works in the strangest of ways, and learning they aren’t such disconnected strangers after all, and the fact that both work for arch nemesis companies, threw them of their cloud nine. Or at least it did for Alyssa, the woman held on to any reason as lifeline to justify her fears and insecurities. Shane on the other hand, even though not sure what he was truly feeling, but having heard all his life about the Wellington way, was much more open to explore and discover what that insane feeling of connection was.
“I felt—I still feel—it, too. There’s this crazy invisible force drawing me to you. It should scare me, too, but, Alyssa, it doesn’t.”
The way I feel right now? It’s not infatuation. It’s not lust. It’s more than primal desire or need. It’s her, and I have no words to explain exactly what I’m feeling other than claiming possession of her.
Man, oh man, but Alyssa was the queen of pushing away! I have to confess that HUGE extent of her resistance and unmoving stubbornness, ended up being off putting to the story. One year – and the big majority of the book, to be honest – of running and pushing away from Shane was far too much, imo, so much so that her valid initial motives, ended up taking back sit to her pure obstinacy, and its a shame because this story has so many captivating and heart touching scenes, that had the resistance not been taken to this extent, it would have been up there with my fav epic love stories.
Because let’s be honest. When you get a taste of decadence, one bite is never enough.
That being said, Shane enchanted me from the start, even with his too cocky attitude, and his single guy persona, we never doubted – even when he said otherwise – the true impact that Alyssa had in just that couple of nights! It was enough for him to NEVER let go and fight and persistantly pursue her for more than one year! Even with all her pushing away and sky high walls of resistance, the man never truly gave up, and knew there was something there worth fighting for, he was the stuff best book boyfriends are made of!!! Swoon!
"Love happens when it happens. That’s what makes it so incredible, that each story is unique and special and its own. There’s magic in serendipity. There’s magic in the slow burn that smolders and sizzles. There’s magic in the in between.”
Another HUGE highlight for me – and I have to say a big contributor for the rating, given how off putting the extent of the pushing away from Alyssa was – was Shane’s brotherly relationship with Brandon. Though cousins, you truly felt their bond as much deeper than blood relation, and you could feel that in all their interactions. So added to it, the extra snippets we got from his and Ari’s incredible courtship and love story, it basically made the book for me.
This extra time and insight we got into their interconnected love stories, that delighted me to no end, sadly wasn’t enough reflected, due once again to Alyssa’s stubbornness, in couple time for the main couple, Shane and Alyssa. Having them apart the big majority of the book stole not only our enjoyment, but the development of their love story, and even with little and sweet Epilogue, left us wanting more of them, Shane and Alyssa – the couple.
Conflict truly fit perfectly with this extraordinary, one of my all time fav series, and there is never enough time to enjoy these Wellington men! And to see how they fall for their destined ones! Sigh… Shane and Alyssa’s was no different, and minus that far too prolongued pushing away, some repetitions and inconsistencies – normal to this stage, that I have no doubt will be fixed upon editing – it was a captivating, heart touching, super sexy, clever and funny love story, that reflected Ms. Teevan’s talented story telling, and left me wishing to see even more of these Wellington (specially more Shane and Alyssa!). Can’t wait to see who of them will fall next!!! <3 <3 <3 <3

I will start by saying that I loved Tessa Teevan's Explosive and Wellingtons series so the characters are familiar and much loved. But I will admit since the timeline of this and some events parallel the the last Wellingtons book that came out four years ago, that my brain was a bit fuzzy on some of the old plots. And since this one follows around a year in time, there is some time jumping and progression in the other books that has to be noted but the author does share the pertinent things. But because of that sometimes it felt a bit choppy and I had to get my bearings.
Shane Wellington is cousin to Branson, Knox, and Cohen Wellington. He is CFO at Wellington Enterprises and is hands on in the business. He was not looking for love and hoped to avoid the "Wellington Way" fable in his family about love at first sight. But when he is in Florida working on a property he meets Alyssa Covington.
She is just finishing up school and gearing up for more responsibility in her CPA job so was ready for a fun time in Florida. She has not had luck with men, sex, or relationships and would like to at least have a little sexy fun on vacation. She found the perfect fling in Shane, but circumstances and some issues kept them from exploring more than a couple days.
But these two have a hard time getting each other out of their heads. Thus begins a year of running, avoidance, near misses, chasing, little white lies, and long lasting lust. And it is a bit more complicated than they even expected between work rivalries and unexpected connections. They have some conflicts they need to work through to see if they can take their spark and make it into something more long lasting.
I have always enjoyed Tessa Teevan's writing style and it is easy to get sucked into her world. This covers the love story of two Wellington cousins struck down by insta-connection with two sisters, but it took time for things to start to work out. Branson's book Conflagration was my favorite so I enjoyed revisiting his story. I liked spending time with the other Wellington men Knox and Cohen and their new significant others, as well as Lexi and Jace, Sierra and Jeremy, and Sawyer and Cheyenne from other books. It is fun how they interconnect in various ways. But I think it would have been easier to follow and read if it had come out closer to the other books, but sometimes that just cannot be helped and I am glad that we finally got Shane's story. And the author does do a pretty good job of explaining events as needed.
I am intrigued by Alyssa's friend Bryan and his old room mate Cori that keep circling around each other so hopefully might see them in a future book.

That man was a saint, chasing the h when she got unbearable about it. At first it was cute but then it just dragged on for the whole damn book. It was just annoying since her reason for keeping her distance wasn't even justifiable! Give me something huge if she's gonna be dodging this amazing man for a year. I didn't even see why Shane was after her that badly anymore, she was just annoying. No sane man would be chasing this chick.
Also you definitely have to read the previous book with Branson & Ariana to enjoy this one. Shane & Alyssa are pretty much a shadow of that couple. The timeline is simultaneous with book #2 which sucks b/c I don't think we got to enjoy this couple on their own since I felt like I was re-reading book #2 just with extra bits of Shane & Alyssa added in.
I have been waiting for this book for what feels like forever and after reading it and beating myself up over the fact I couldn't remember any of the characters I checked on GoodReads and it turns out It's been 4 years. Which equates to around 1000 books since I put the last one down so I guess it's ok I was a little out of the loop.
That said I didn't need to remember anything to enjoy the story, I just felt like I was missing out on the inside jokes. But that might just be my Scorpio nosiness needing to know everything.
Any who back to the book. I love Tessa Teevan's writing style. Her characters are real and I especially loved that Shane was so genuine and said things that I normally expect to hear coming from my own husbands mouth.
Only a man can hear a woman's sweet promises as the possibility of anal.
Alyssa was awesome too. She started off a little shaky but by the end I loved her. She didn't need anyone to fight her battles or save her she just sorted it out in a no nonsense way and continued on with her day.
The only downside is I now have a massive urge to do a series re-read to see if the story gets better with the other books still fresh in my mind but with over 2000 books on my TBR I think it might have to wait for the next book in the series.
Alyssa and Shane’s story was so much fun! Fun, complicated and full of snappy lines and dialogue. Starting their relationship in the heat of the moment, they suddenly found themselves on opposites of a divide they could not cross. Did not want to cross. Family obligations, career aspirations, loyalty. All of these were in play and made their relationship, if not impossible than, painfully complicated…
I loved the interactions between all the characters in this whirlwind story. This is the third in the series, the third Wellington brother to have his story told, yet the first one I’ve read (so far). The author did a good job filling in the blanks so I could read it as a standalone but it just whetted my appetite for the brothers’ stories as well.
I read this in one sitting and it was well worth the sleep I lost! I’m resting up to catch up on the rest of this series because I haven’t had my fill of these brothers!
For Shane Wellington, ‘The Wellington Way’ has never been ‘his way’ at least when it comes to the opposite sex, and that’s something he thought he’d never reconsider…that is until one night with Alyssa Covington and now, like his cousins, he’s ready to be led around by a certain male appendage and reap the benefits of a visceral connection he’s unwilling to give up.
Now Shane just needs to get Alyssa on the same page, which proves more complicated than he thought due to the fact that their professional lives position them on opposite sides, forcing a line to be drawn that seems too difficult to cross, but if readers have learned anything about these Wellington men, they’ll stop at nothing to claim the woman they want, even if it means dirtying themselves up in the process.
Let the games begin…
I’m a huge fan of Tessa Teevan’s Explosive series and I absolutely loved Branson’s story in Conflagration, so I couldn’t wait to get my hands on Shane’s book, and even though its release is four years in the making, it felt like coming home again - reentering the Wellingtons’ world, catching up with familiar faces, and taking this new adventure with the one Wellington male who swore he’d never fall like his relatives.
Teevan establishes quite an interesting dynamic between her hero and heroine at the beginning of Conflict and as their lives continue to intersect on both personal and professional levels, it becomes more than apparent that the connection between Shane and Alyssa is not one that is bound to dissipate any time soon but what these two need to figure out is how to work through their professional conflicts in order to pursue the sexual chemistry that had them jumping into bed together in the first place.
I can’t get enough of these Wellington men; there’s just something about these alpha males falling head over feet for their sassy, independent other half, which means that regardless of how difficult it is to make things work between them or what obstacles try to thwart their attempt at being together, a connection like the ones they make is not something to give up on, and that’s what I find most endearing about Tessa Teevan’s leading men.
It feels like it's been a while since I've read a Tessa Teevan book but as soon as the words starting flowing and the characters started talking, it was like riding a bike again y'all... easy, unforgettable, fun, and completely worth every moment of the journey. Shane and Alyssa were quite the pair and they lit up my kindle and made my heart beat just a little but faster.
Conflict was so so so good... a sexy, sweet, swoony, intense, beautifully complicated romance that hooked me after the first few pages and didn't let go until long after the words stopped. I momentarily forgot how much I adore these people and this series but only for a moment and this book y'all... it was a fantastic addition and such a great read.
If you like your books a little on the easier side that will make you laugh, smile, swoon, and feel conflicted in only a few moments then this book and this series is a must read.
60% into the book and nothing of substances happens, the hero and heroine do not interact mostly in this one and it’s boring. By this point I have no interest in them anymore.
The Wellington Way is proven once again (which causes a Wellington man to fall hard with a woman they see as their destiny). This time it happens to Shane, cousin of Branson, featured in book 2 of this series.
There are some cheesy moments in this book, but both Shane, and the heroine, Alyssa Covington, acknowledge and embrace that cheesiness.
The story runs very hot, when these two first meet. And then quickly runs cold when some truths are revealed. I thought both characters were overly cautious with this relationship and it seemed silly, given their connection, how long they were apart.
My only major gripe though was how some part of the story, or the side character stories, were repeated. That could have been taken out in my opinion.
Overall, this was a sweet/sexy story, and a fun way to reunite with this author's characters.
This was my first read by this author and it definitely made me want to read the previous books in the series. It revolves around Alyssa and Shane. They meet by chance, but they are, unbeknownst to them, connected on a professional level. That is a problem due to her working for a company that’s competing against the company that he runs. Their interactions were cute, funny and hot. I enjoyed reading their love story and made me curious about the other couples portrayed in it.
With all that being said, I have to mention that I was completely confused by the timeline set here. The entire story takes place over the course of almost a year, but it feels like it’s a week. It was very weird how it jumped all of a sudden and we were six months later than we were in the previous chapter. I have no idea how that happened, felt like a twilight zone type of situation. Also, Alyssa’s age changed at some point. She had been 25 for the longest time, then she was 24. And there were a couple of situations that were not consistent throughout the book, like, for example, how Alyssa ended up with Shane’s phone number. First it was said that she had gotten it from her coworker/friend, but later the story changed to her having gotten it from somebody else. So there were things like that which sort of sidetracked me from the actual storyline. It had a lot of potential to be a 5 Star read easily, but I still wouldn’t skip it :)
Shane is the last single Wellington and is determined that he not fall prey to what his mother and aunt refer to as inevitable: that he will meet his match and never be the same. His focus is entirely on running the family business and he is happy with the direction things are rolling.
Alyssa is introduced to the Wellingtons by way of her sister, who more or less ran away with Branson. She is only looking for a week of relaxation at the beach before her sister gets married, but through a series of events finds herself spending time with an attractive man instead.
This chance encounter allows them to explore their explosive chemistry, but when they connect the dots in their real world they have to put the brakes on things. The circumstances have them circling each other, tempted to dive in but hesitating because of the possible consequences. When they make the connection that not only are they competing professionally, but will be connected through family as well, they embark on a journey that will only stir the conflict between them further.
My biggest challenge with this book had nothing to do with the characters or plot. With 4 years between the release of Conflagration and Conflict, it took me a good chunk of this book to refresh my memory about who was who and what the set up for Shane and Alyssa was from the previous book. There were glimpses of something going on in the background of Conflagration, and because this one runs concurrently to it, I knew I should know more about them than I could remember.
Once I had oriented myself to how everyone was related and their individual backstories, I was able to let go and immerse myself in this world. These characters are truly likeable. Shane’s conviction that he will not find the Wellington way his mom preaches means he doesn’t fight when she puts work first. Her desire to prove herself at work has her maintaining a grueling pace at work as she tries to impress her bosses and the clients.
I received a copy from the author in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
This was my first book by this author and when I started reading I didn't realize that this was actually book 3 in this series. While it was able to be read as a standalone I can't wait to dive into the other books to find out what I might have missed.
I really loved the idea behind this book. I loved the characters and there was a lot of drama and suspense. However, I think at times the author had so much going on that she forgot what had already happened or been said and then later she repeated the same thing as though we didn't already know about it.
There was lots of excitement as well throughout the story. Each time I thought I had things figured out there would be something else thrown at me. Sometimes this made things hard to keep up with, but for the most part I really enjoyed it. I especially loved how the book was written from a dual point of view so I knew what was going from both characters perspectives.
This was a book worth reading for sure. Especially if you have already been hooked with the first 2.- By Alisa
Shane is the CFO of Wellington Enterprises and he is focused on his career. He is determined to not follow the path of other members in his family by falling in love at first sight, but everything changed when he meets Alyssa.
Alyssa is leaving one chapter of her life behind and is looking forward to starting a new chapter, so she is not looking for a relationship or love. All she wants is a little fun before she embarks upon her career and their fling turned into something neither could forget.
There were many obstacles standing in the way of their relationship becoming permanent, including themselves, and they must decide what they are willing to do to be together. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Let me start by saying that the premise for the book is a good one, the male character is very likable and the heroine is passable, although definitely not a favorite of mine.
My problem with this book was the execution. The amount of repetitions throughout the story were a bit too much for me, and the back and forth between Shane and Alyssa lacked chemistry in my opinion, just to mention a couple of the things that I felt didn't work out for me. I loved Shane, he was a nice guy and he tried his best with Alyssa. Alyssa on the other hand came out as bratty at times, while I understood the conflict of interest, her attitude towards him was childish at times. Adults talk, discuss situations, they don't run and act like toddlers who didn't get what they want it, which is exactly what Alyssa does on a few occasions.
This book was just not for me, my apologies to the author.
Shane sometimes only hears what he wants to hear, "His lips twitch, their corners turning up. A good sign. “Sexy as hell?” he asks." Shane mind automatically turns dirty with his woman, "her eyes dance. “Keep it up and you’ll be checking of all my firsts.” Is it bad that I really hope that means anal?" I liked this book, I fell in love with Shane.
This book came out more than 4 years after the last book in the Wellingtons series Conflagration. Conflagration was and still is one of my favourite books ever and it is one that I've reread multiple times, so it is safe to say I was eagerly waiting the follow-up. Unfortunately, this book did not at all live up to the previous book. While Tessa Teevan is a great storyteller at her best, this book was very far from that.
One of the things that annoyed me most about this book was the retelling of things that had happened earlier in the book, for example the almost meeting of Alyssa and Shane at the winery which was retold multiple times as if the reader would have forgotten that we read about it just a few chapters ago.
The next thing was related to this retelling in that the characters reactions to these pivotal events just didn't make sense. In fact, I have to say it was very difficult to follow the motivations of the protagonists. They just seemed to think in circles, so much so that I just couldn't understand why they were doing the things that they did. It felt like both Alyssa, and to a lesser extent Shane, could have thought themselves out of running out of a burning building. My inability to understand their characters really detracted from my enjoyment of the book because the whole conflict between them that kept them apart ended up feeling manufactured.
The last thing that annoyed me as a reader of the previous books in the series was that the characterisation of many of the other characters from previous books just wasn't consistent. For example, in this book, Arianna was portrayed as the stereotypical Southern belle, the virginal debutante that followed the path set out for her by her parents whereas in the previous book, she was much more nuanced. I can attribute some of this to the fact that we are shown Arianna through her sisters eyes but even through her own words, her character just felt flat and 2-dimensional.
I think that overall, the last point is applicable to the whole book, that it and its characters are rather flat and 2-dimensional, especially compared to Conflagration. It feels rushed, sloppily edited and put together which is such a departure from the previous book in this series which truly felt like a labour of love. Overall a disappointment but I will still pick up the final book in this series if only to tie up all the lose ends in the Wellington family dynamic.
This wasn’t bad. Shane and Alyssa were entertaining when they were together. I did keep thinking that Branson, Shane’s cousin, and Ariana, Alyssa’s sister, were stealing the show and found myself wishing for more of their story (there was a lot mentioned that didn’t happen in this book and I did keep feeling like I was missing something when it came to Branson and Ariana). I did learn that their story is told fully in Conflagration, the book before this one in the series. What I liked: The Wellington family. Alyssa’s friend/roommate Bryan. Alyssa’s relationship with her sister and Shane’s relationship with Branson. I also really liked their maturity once Shane and Alyssa finally got together. Many authors, when giving their subjects a relationship conflict, will make the characters overreact almost comically just for drama. That didn’t happen here (once they were a couple anyway) and that was greatly appreciated. What I didn’t like: Feeling like I was missing sections of the story, when Shane and Alyssa would talk about a huge incident involving Branson and Ariana, as if it happened in this book, and not knowing what they were talking about. Also I noticed twice during the book there was sort of a recap of what had happened, as if the book had been split into small installations and then combined into one novel. It really wasn’t long enough for a “previously on…” type thing, much less twice. One other thing I had issues with was that the dual POVs weren’t consecutive. We’d read Shane’s POV and then it would switch to Alyssa, but instead of continuing it would be a retelling of what had just happened. When the scene is several pages long and a few hours in the storyline, having to go back like that was jarring. Finally, I really didn’t understand Alyssa’s open animosity towards Shane. She’s trying to stay away from him because of their jobs, and potential conflict of interest, but instead of being polite but keeping him at a distance she acts like she hates him. Overall: Not a bad book. Not amazing, and not one I’ll reread, although I’ll definitely be checking out Branson and Ariana’s story to see what I was missing.
Conflict is the third book in the ‘Wellingtons’ series and while I liked it a lot, I didn’t love it, and that’s a shame because it’s a good story and the writing is pretty great too. This is Shane and Alyssa’s story and meant to be a standalone the same as Combust and Conflagration but to be honest, in my view at least. They aren’t. Not truly. I haven’t read those two yet, and there are some things referenced to in Conflict which takes place in book 2, Conflagration, Branson and Ari’s story and reading about their relationship in a kind of secondhand way, was a bit distracting. To me anyway. I know a lot of people feel differently, but they have generally read the previous books. Aside from that, I mostly enjoyed the book, there were a few things I didn’t like that the author had the characters do. The scene late in the book where Shane and Alyssa argue in the cab, and what follows… that didn’t sit well with me. Especially after how assertive and consistent Shane had been in his endeavours to win Alyssa’s affection. But, all in all. Shane was a great guy. He hadn’t planned in following in the ‘Wellington way’ of falling in love, until he met Alyssa. Then everything changed. He went from a sexy stranger to the man of her dreams, but it took a long, slow burning year for it to come to a head. Alyssa was a strong, independent woman but she still wanted the lifelong love and happiness her parents shared. She didn’t expect to find it when she went on vacation alone, but, fate works in mysterious ways. This wasn’t a fairytale romance though, they had some work issues to deal with. Some running away and avoiding for a while, but eventually love won the day.

Conflict by Tessa Teevan is a fantastic book! Conflict is the second book in her The Wellingtons series. This is the first book that I have read by Tessa Teevan and it won’t be my last either. Conflict is so hot and steamy that I couldn’t put the kindle down as I was reading it. Conflict made me experience all kinds of emotions. Conflict explores the romance between Alyssa Covington and Shane Wellington. Alyssa had just finished getting her Master’s Degree and she was going on vacation for a week to let her down and finally find a hot guy to lose her virginity with. Alyssa was 25 and she was ready. On her first day at the resort, down at the pool, she meets Shane who she assumes is the pool boy. The attraction and chemistry between Alyssa and Shane are spontaneous. Does Alyssa finally lose her virginity with Shane? Has Shane finally found The One for him? You will have to read Conflict to find out! Conflict will bring out all of your emotions. Conflict has plenty of romance, some suspense, and lots of hot and steamy sex. Conflict shows us not to assume when it comes to what type of person or profession that you are in. Conflict also shows that to live your life on your terms and no one else’s. Most importantly, don’t give up on love. Make sure you read Conflict by Tessa Teevan! Trust me you won’t be disappointed.
I’ve read all of the Explosive series and now all of the Wellington series, and I’m going to lay it out right now – I have struggled mightily to get through this book and it’s predecessor. I didn’t much care for Branson’s book because of Branson, but I struggled with this story because of the heroine, Alyssa.
Alyssa is a 25-year old virgin. I am not a fan of virgin stories, but I am a fan of this author, so I made an exception. Alyssa goes to the Florida panhandle for a vacation and meets a beautiful man she decides to give her virginity to. Turns out that man is the cousin who is marrying her sister.
That’s another issue I had with this book. Branson’s book came out eons ago, but the timelines in this book overlap his book, so we rehashed Branson’s story again, which I didn’t like. I wasn’t a fan of his book the first time – why would I want to read it again?
Anyway, it turns out that Alyssa and Shane, the man she meets and sleeps with is her company’s main competition for some work. She refuses to start a relationship with Shane due to this – REALLY???
Honestly, it took FOREVER for Alyssa to get over herself and finally give Shane a chance. By this point, I could not understand why Shane even wanted anything to do with her. She was rude to him, literally ran away from him twice like a petulant child and used her job against him.
I was more interested in Alyssa’s roommate Bryan and his story than I was in hers. This story wasn’t very engaging. It dragged on forever – I honestly felt like it would never end. It was way too long.
I have really enjoyed Ms. Teevan’s work in the past, but I didn’t love this story. I did really like Shane. He was a nice guy, but his backstory wasn’t overly developed.
Conflict is book three in the Wellingtons and each can be read as a standalone. This was the first read in this series and author for me. The author does give stories on the other characters in the series and what I am assuming outside of the series she wrote. It helps with the background if its your first read; if not, it may appear gapping due to the timespan of the years between the books being written, but it sounds like it triggers your light bulb and your happy for Shane’s story. This is my opinion and in no way should deter you from reading this story cause it was really good. Shane always thought his mom’s motto was a joke until it happened to him when he least expected it. That fable being-The Wellington Way. Shane/Alyssa have an instant connection (and I mean that literally from Alyssa’s POV), but it was only a one-night stand. Both couldn’t forget each other and were focused on their careers that at times they forgot about themselves. Well add a little does of fate, family and Conflict in business and you have one heck of a story. You’ll laugh, feel the tension and love the interaction between not only Alyssa/Shane, but the other characters. Inquiring minds wants to know if Bryan (Alyssa’s roommate) will be getting a story? Oh, the circling and feelings to be explored with that one!
I was pulled right into this story. The story flowed well and I was able to stay connected and interested throughout the book. The story has laughs, pain, twists & turns, and heartbreak.
If you have not read the below I would recommend reading those books(s) first Ignite (Explosive, #1) Incinerate (Explosive, #2) Inflame (Explosive, #3) Intoxicate (Explosive, #4) Fusion (Explosive #5) Combust (The Wellingtons, #1) Conflagration (The Wellingtons, #2)
This is Alyssa’s story. This story takes you through the whirlwind that is Alyssa’s life. This story takes place right along side of Conflagration so if you have not read that one, I would suggest at least reading that one out of all the above. It will set this story up and introduce you to the key players. This couple goes though a lot of mis-attempts at a relationship. But in the end, they learn that really nothing can keep them apart. They find a way to get around the barriers that keep them apart. The falling happened fast but the being together takes time and a lot of patience. In the end what is meant to be is meant to be.
I felt I was able to connect with the characters and the story was a great read.

This is the first book that I have read by this author and overall I enjoyed the story. My attention was quickly captured by the authors engaging writing style and I thought that it was well written. The pace and flow were good and my interest was kept throughout, it was slight repetitive at times but not so much that it bothered me a great deal. I really liked the hero of the story, Shane! There was just something about him that made me like him straight away. He came across as a really nice and genuine person, not at all what I expected when I first read the blurb. Alyssa was a good character too, maybe not my favourite heroine to read about but I thought she was a strong, independent person. I really felt the instant connection that these two had and found myself shouting at Alyssa when she tried to push Shane away, I would have loved to be chased by him!! He persevered with her and in a really sweet way too. A great first read by this author and I will definitely be reading the other books in this series.
Conflict is the third book in The Wellingtons series, I suppose it could be read as a stand-alone but personally I’d recommend reading the previous books for an all round better reading experience.
The storyline focuses on Shane Wellington and his belief that his mother’s favourite motto is all wrong, he just doesn’t buy into it, but as the saying goes "mother knows best" and his beliefs soon change when Alyssa Covington walks into his live, knocking him on his backside, showing him what he’s been missing.
The premise of this book is a good one and the main protagonists were both likeable, Shane more so than Alyssa. I did find that there were quite a few too many repetitions throughout this book, which was a little frustrating and confusing which is the main reason for me only giving it the three stars out of five.
Conflict by Tessa Teevan is the third book in the Wellington series and can be read as a stand-alone. I could not wait to get my hands on this story and Ms. Teevan did not disappoint! Shane and Alyssa’s story was everything I thought it was going to be. It is filled with hot as hell chemistry and so much love.
Shane is a successful CFO in his family’s business. He is hot AF and enjoys a variety of women. He is determined to not fall in love like every other Wellington in his family. But that all changes when he meets Alyssa. What happens when what was supposed to be a one night stand turns into love??
Alyssa is excited to get to spend two weeks with her sister. She’s hoping for nothing but drinks and relaxation. When she lays eyes on what she thinks is the pool boy everything changes. Can a night filled with passion turn I to more?
I loved this book so much! The writing was superb and the characters were amazing! Shane and Alyssa stole my heart! I can’t wait to see what Ms. Teevan comes up with next!
OH I LOVED this book so much!! I have not so patiently waited for this book and was most definitely not disappointed. Shane was nearly perfect!! And Alyssa was strong, independent sweet and so damn stubborn I wanted to strangle her. They had an instant connection (literally) and then way to much time apart because of her stubbornness. But once he broke through her wall. Oh I swooned, he made me melt they were absolutely made for each other. One of my favorite parts of this book was how the author brought in characters from her other books. It was like visiting with old friends. It was bittersweet reading this one because Shane was the last of the Wellington boys. Just like with every other Tessa Teevan book I have read I couldn't put it down. I get lost in the story and the world goes away or at least it needs to because I don't want to stop reading.
Beautiful cover, intrigued title and synopsis, so I jumped in hoping to get a really challenging and entertaining hot romance. Well, what I got? An imperfect seating, some contradictorial details and more. The story is rushing and confusing, but overall alternate ups and downs moments. There are so many missing pieces in this story. And they are obvious. But let's find something good too. Shane and Alyssa have some interesting and so sexy interactions. And those are helping a lot and carrying on the whole story. Maybe their relationship is the only authentic part of the story. The timing of the story, although is a mess for almost all the time. Sometimes is hard to stay focused, because you get lost and confused, but the love story is cute, and the overall theme good. * ARC kindly provided in exchange for an honest review*
