    Book two of this trilogy was the perfect love story for Patty and Kyla! While they finally were able to be together AND accept being together, too many threats are still in the outlying. I mean I suppose it’s the way the Mafia is, especially when your the boss. One major threat gone, one left, with many many more to come I’m sure.

    Kyla is taking a step in the right direction to get stronger. She doesn’t want to be caught unprepared again, and I LOVE IT! Plus the strength she felt in herself when she started learning, was amazing! Patrick is trying to navigate a life he never wanted, mob boss, but he is doing it in a spectacular way while paving his own path and it awesome to see. Their relationship it still steamy 🔥 🥵 and the possessiveness Patrick shows towards Kyla both in and out of the bedroom is 💦 and it only increases tenfold at the end!

    Kyla and PATRICK are able to FINALLY have their wedding and focus on their family, but not without many hitches along the way. It would seem both sides of the families are beginning to accept their relationship, even if with hesitation. However, accepting or not, there is still something fishy going on with both of their dads…. I need to know their secrets!!! Like. Right. NOW!!!

    Go read this book!!! Well maybe read book 1 first, Corrupted Crown, THEN read this book!!

    *While not required, I would highly recommend reading the Sinfully Savage Series before reading this series as it gives great historical content for many of the main characters. Vicious Vows is the second book of the Reckless Reign Trilogy and continues Kyla and Patrick’s story. For this reason, I would also suggest reading the previous book of this series, Corrupted Crown before reading.

    **There is a potential for spoilers if you have not read the aforementioned books.

    Patrick still has two major enemies that need to be dealt with. One has been inherited from his brothers screwing people over and the other is from Kyla’s past. Still not thrilled that he was all but forced to take over the family, Patrick finally truly comes to terms with what this means not only for himself but for Kyla. It is in this book that he finally embraces the new position and begins to play the part not because he wants but because his life and that of Kyla’s depends on him thinking like the boss that he is. Patrick will stop at nothing to protect Kyla from her enemies and his. This requires him to make a deal with Pedro Castilla. As plans unfold, new realizations throw a wrench in the plan. Unfortunately for Patrick, his newest enemy, a newly appointed boss, has a lot to prove not only to his rivals but those within his family and plans to make an example of him one way or another.

    Meanwhile, Massey is still on the loose and has made several appearances. Not trusting Massey and determined to keep his word, Patrick continues to ensure there are eyes on Kyla at all times. He takes her everywhere he goes when possible. It is one of these times that they find out just how dangerous of a threat Massey is and Patrick goes on the offensive. Will Patrick and his allies be able to take down their enemies and survive or, will the mess made by everyone around them be too much for them?

    I enjoyed this book. I especially love the world that has been created and how it continues to expand to give us such intriguing characters and their stories. Kyla and Patty just can’t seem to catch a break. Both are trying to build a life together but run into roadblocks at every turn no matter how hard they fight. This book ends with another cliffhanger but I am invested in the story and I cannot wait for the next and final book to see how it all ends although, I have a theory or two.

    This is my review after finally finishing this book. It's a slow-burning agonizing book. It has so many twists and turns. Its like Patty is a 18 in this no ready to be boss but having to step into a job he wasn't groomed for. So I changed from 1 star to 5. Don't be like me and get discouraged keep reading.

    I'm not sure why this book has so many great reviews! I couldn't even finish this book. Patty doesn't have the mentality to be a mob boss. He seems more focused on Ky than anything that has to do with taking care of business. I understand this is a spin-off series but I think it's missed the mark. Boring is the nicest thing I can say about the part I read.

    I gave this three stars because I am fed up with having to wait for a third book to the end of this story. I prefer to read a book that has a beginning, a middle, and an end. It should not take three books for a story to end. Even in a series, end one story and move on to the next one. This one just keeps going on like a battery charged for life. I am not reading anymore books from this author unless the entire series is completed.
