Until Landon by Leslie Pike was everything I've come to expect in a romance novel. Landon is a single guy not looking for a relationship. Kim is a widow and single mom, celebrating her brother's upcoming marriage at Momma's, a local bar where Landon is bartending. When a stranger targets Kim, Landon intervenes and keeps her safe. What starts out as helping someone in trouble, turns into a friendship that develops into so much more. Sometimes when you don't see it coming, fate steps in and lends a hand.
Landon's back temporarily, helping his father out at the bar when a slightly unsteady on her feet bridesmaid celebrating her brother and sister in law catches his eye and ignites his protective instincts and his dormant heart. When she needs his help after another patron won't leave her alone, he can't in good conscience, let her go home by herself. And as he soon realizes, doesn't want to let her go at all. But Kim is a widowed single mom, and their two lives are miles apart from each other. Can they merge their lives successfully, or are their differences too much to make things work?
Kim is just trying to figure out how to parent an adult son without being too interfering but not too distant either. Landon's trying to figure out how to care for his father when his temporary stay is up. Then they meet, become friends and much more. Landon the grumpy bartender and Kim the sweet single mom made for a sweet, sexy story. I love the grumpy/sunshine trope when the two leads are as adorable and likable as these two are and I think they made a wonderful addition to this spinoff world.

Landon who is working at his fathers bar comes to the rescue of Kim, who is celebrating her brothers upcoming wedding when she is cornered by a stranger in the ladies bathroom.
Kim is very shook up and petrified to stay home alone especially that her son is away still at college. When Landon proposes that Kim spend the night with him at his fathers Ronnie house none of them expected that this would be the beginning of a friendship that would develop into so more.
The characters were very likeable and easy to relate too. I loved the strong family unit that was pivotal in the lives of Landon and Kim.
Until Landon was a sweet swoony story about finding love when you least expect it.
Although this book is written in a "world" of books by several authors, I never felt lost or that I was missing something. Am I going to read more in this series? Absolutely! Landon is home to help out his dad in between jobs. As a thirty something, he feels his life is on a path that he's happy with. That is until he spies a slightly drunk bridesmaid at his dad's bar. Not that he would ever take advantage of her, his dad would kill him, but he shows interest and a protectiveness that's automatic. Kim is a thirty something that has dealt with a lot in her young life. Being a widow and raising her son alone hasn't been easy. Her attraction to Landon isn't automatic but nearly so. I loved how life gets thrown at them as a new couple but they are drawn to each other for comfort. Landon never saw Kim walking into his life but can't see a life without her. Kim was happy as herself but finds support and love in Landon. I loved seeing some of Ms. Pike's characters from another of her series as well as being introduced to new characters from the Happily Ever After series as well.
He'd come back to help his dad and handle the bar that had been around forever. Not in his plans but it was for his dad. Not all was bad about it. He'd spotted her and couldn't seem to stop looking until an altercation took his attention. When he looked for her she wasn't there. Another man had his eyes on her...was she in trouble?
She wasn't into dating but her bestie pushed and pulled. Yeah, the bartender was hot--sizzling hot! Didn't mean she was gonna get involved. She just needed a job, a home, and to make sure her grown son made his life a success.
Resistance wasn't happening for either of them. He had to prove himself to her son. How would his dad feel about her? Would danger keep them apart? Lots going on as well as plenty of steam.
A page-turning romance with intrigue, steam, and great characters that fit in this amazing multi-author series. I strongly recommend it. Reviewed for Words Turn Me On
Landon is back home to help his father in between jobs, but he doesn't have plans to stay. Kim is a widowed single mother who is trying to raise a young adult son without smothering him. These come across each other when he's bartending at his dad's bar while she's a slightly drunk bridesmaid who ends up needing his help with another person at the bar who is messing with her. This is the start of a beautiful friendship that doesn't take long to develop into more. However, his stay at home has an expiration date making for a complication for this couple who are perfect for each other. Will they be able to work it out or just chalk it up to a moment in time?! You'll have to hit those one click buttons to find out as I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Until Landon by L. Pike is a stand-alone in ARR's Happily Ever Alpha World. Landon is happily single, love his life, doesn't want a relationship. He works a sbartender and here he meets a damsel in distress. Kim, a single mom and bridesmaid in her brother's wedding party could use a break. And bartender Landon, unavailable bartender Landon gives it to her. They go from friendshipmto more in a beautfully thought out and beautifully told story. An emotional read that has lots going on. A slow burn with characters that are good people and bec I'm always a sucker for this kind of stories I couldn't stay away. A wonderful read. Fitting in this series I recommend the book.
Yeah, this was a DNF for me at 68%. I tried. I really did. Number of things for that, but one that stuck out was I cannot imagine Asher Mayson suggesting to Landon he buy his 70 year old father a hooker as a gift. No jokes or anything. Just seemed out of his character.
This was heartwarming, refreshing, sweet, sexy, and just what I needed. A great crossover between the Maysons and the author's other series. I couldn't put it down.
Connections to other books in both series: Landon is a background character from Until July, and Kim is the sister of the MC from Until Now. Main characters from both other books show up during the book.
I really appreciated that both Landon and Kim got a chance to be fleshed out in their own story- they are both people from the other books that I was actually interested in seeing more of, and who definitely deserved their own HEA. I also enjoyed the story line. It had a lot of emotional components, and it seemed like the progression into a serious relationship had a little more logic to it than is usually presented in an insta-love story, even though there was still a lot packed into a pretty short time span.
I was able to sit down and read this book in one sitting/a couple of hours.
That said, I had a couple problems with the book, some more nitpicky than others. If you have read Until Now: The timeline of this book doesn't line up correctly with the timeline of that book. Also, I really liked the characters of Hunter and Bing in the other book, but wasn't a fan of the people they became. If you have read Until July, whatever happened to Kayan? I know she got her own book, but did I just miss it when she left working at the vet she was a partner in, never to be seen again? I know this doesn't matter at all to the story, it's just something I wanted to know ha.
The biggest issue I had is just that I don't think the author's writing style is for me. It is very well written, and for the first couple of chapters or so I found it charming, but by the middle I found that almost every other page there was something written or described in a way that just continually distracted me from the flow of reading/ the actual plot of the book. This is probably the same reason that almost all of the scenes that were supposed to be sexy mostly just made me cringe.
Overall, a good addition to the Happily Ever Alpha series and a decent read, but not something I would have read if I wasn't interested in the series and not something I would re-read.
Landon & Kim: triggers- man the whole book is a trigger Okay so, as a book within the “Until Him/Her” series and the “Happily Ever Alpha” world, the only thing that connects this book is that the author used characters from previous books. I.e. July and Wes. Other than that, this book is not even close. I'm honestly tired of reading these interpretations of the original series and being disappointed. Here, there's no “BOOM” whatsoever, not even a moment where either character just knew. And I'm sorry but the “boom” is the heartbeat of the entire series, both original and connected. It's what makes the series so heart warning and attractive to readers. That love at first sight type of situation. Secondly, there's no dangerous dilemma. Or there is but it's so quick and at the beginning of the book that it almost seems like an afterthought. And even then, there's no suspense. Just when you think the author is going to bring us back to that part of the story it just falls flat…. Blah! 😤. Another issue I had with this book is that the author just rambles on and on and stuff that isn't even pertinent to the story. The first chapter alone is evidence of that. I had to read chapter 1 several times just to figure out what she was talking about and why 🤦🏾♀️. There are way too many pov's and side stories which detract from the main characters. I honestly kept falling asleep. This book was so lackluster. I'm not sure why such high ratings, it almost seems as if people were just happy to receive this book as an ARC that they gave it a good rating despite the clear issues. But I think that true fans Aurora Rose Reynolds and her “Until Him/Her” series will find the flaws and point them out. The characters themselves were okay. I didn't really feel a connection with them, probably because they didn't really have a real conversation until the end so up to that point, it just feels like lust and not love. Rating: 1.25 ⭐
Until Landon by Leslie Pike is set in The HEA World and gives us Landon and Kim’s story. I loved that neither of them was looking for a relationship and yet when they found each other the connection was there. After rescuing Kim, I loved watching their friendship blossom into more. Kim was strong and determined and Landon, though a bit of a grump, was caring and protective. They each had their own priorities but found something with each other that was unexpected and wonderful. I loved reading about their interactions with each other and their family. Their journey was sweet and delightful and am excited to read more from this world.
Another successful Until book!!! Landon and Kim’s story is a slow burn with minimal drama and a HEA. While I loved their story I also really enjoyed the cast of characters as well. Ronnie and Hunter are the silent stars of the book. Ronnie is the thread that hold everything together and Hunter is a typical 19 year old. I loved the touching father son moments between Landon and Ronnie, and how his mom was still a driving force for Landon to be better. This was another great addition to the series.
What can I said? Leslie is my favorite author because her books are the best, Landon and Kim , this book is bestiful, like always the story, captive you since the beginning, but what I love most is the family union, and if course, I love She always included the dogs, I love dogs and I have 5 and I loved Dolly, the rescue baby girl, I have one rescue girl like Dolly and I love ger. Thanks Leslie , your books are the best
Landon and Kim’s story was a great little romance with several bumps in the road along the way. It was a little struggle for me with facts a little inconsistent with the Until series but that doesn’t detract from a great story.
Landon is in town on vacation working for his Dad. But it becomes more as he falls for Kim . But hes torn between work, his job and her. And must make a dession for the future.
This book!!! It has all the feels. The emotions of being a parent, the feels of falling in love, the scare of knowing you were almost a victim of a crime, a feeling of loss and friendship. Landon and Kim’s story was a story I read in one setting. I could not put it down. I absolutely adored this story. Great read!!
If you read Until July and always wanted a book for the young man, Landon, who got caught up in the dog fighting ring because of his sister's kidnapping, this is the book. It took me a bit to realize the connection, but once I realized the connection, I was here for it. Cause there is nothing I love more than getting that redemption story, even though he never really did anything wrong. We also get the story of Maxens, from Until Now, sister Kim's story as well. Both of these back stories are touched upon in this book. I found Until Landon to be an entertaining, quick read. I loved Kim and Landon, they were a great match for one another. I also really enjoyed the family dynamics in this book, Landon with his dad, Ronnie, and Kim with her son Hunter. It was both of their feelings towards how families work that I felt made them such a solid couple so quickly. I will say the only thing that I'm disappointed by was I wanted there to be a resolution to Landon's house being robbed, like I wanted him to be able to get the first bike he got from his parents back, and it was never brought up again really when he also had his tools stolen and he needed them to work... Also I just don't understand how Kim's son, Hunter, and his friend Bing, who were watching the house and the reason it was robbed seemingly never called the police over the robbery when some expensive stuff (Landon's tools) were stolen... And I realize this was a small plot line in the story but I think it would have been good to have that loop hole closed unless it somehow gets brought up again in the story for Hunter, and possibly the thief M...
Sometimes when you least expect it, love comes at you and you can’t let go. Leslie Pike’s Until Landon tells the story of two people who come together first through a wonderful friendship that turns into a slow burning love. Kim, a single mother, runs into trouble and bartender Landon comes to her rescue. What develops between them is a friendship that showcases the beautiful souls these two people have. They are attracted to each other but slowly work their way into that by being there for one another. The relationship between Landon and his father, Ronnie, and Kim and her son, Hunter, give us the comedic spoonful we’ve come to find in Leslie’s books. Landon wanted to be with Kim and that meant he had to be good with Hunter. The way that relationship built was great to see, with Landon knowing when to get involved and when to keep his distance, not wanting to push himself on him. Until Landon is an emotional read with great characters. It is a well-written story of friendship, love, chaos, plenty of steam. Definitely a must read.
