Age is just a number.

Just like he's just a boy and I'm just a girl.

Except that's not true, is it?

Because fifteen may be a number, but it's bigger than that. Bigger than us.

It's a number that separates us.

An excuse that keeps us apart.

But I'm not willing to give in until I get what I want.

After all, how many other girls can bring a grown man to his knees with one little smile?

I have so many problems with not only the book but the way it is described:
The fact that she is 16 during the spicy descriptive scenes should be explained everywhere. Not just on goodreads.

I bought this book on Amazon and it doesn’t say anywhere that she is 16 and I read it then because I bought it without knowing that she is that young.
Putting on goodreads “she’s 16” is not enough especially because a lot of people still don’t use it and readers shouldn’t have to use goodreads to get all the info on a book.
This should be mentioned in the description on Amazon. Because I wasted my money since I didn’t have goodreads back then.

Second, I do enjoy taboo romances but the characters should always be over 18. Writing a romance that started when the girl was 15 and her adoptive uncle was 30 doesn’t scream “taboo age gap ROMANCE” but it screens “pedophile and you are going to jail for rape”.

It’s very descriptive even for when she is a minor and the scene where she falls onto his lap and “feels his ….” Is just one of the scenes that I was disgusted by because even though I love giant age gaps, the younger one should NEVER be a minor. Not even in taboo romances.

How...how does this have so many five star reviews?

I just read about a grown ass man having explicit sex with a minor...written in a way that is so dumb and filthy and makes absolute no sense (especially given she’s a victim of assault) and he’s basically blaming her for being so attractive and for them having a special “bond” and like he tried so hard to fight it blah blah blah.

I love forbidden/taboo topics but this made me so uncomfortable.

She’s a minor, stop gaslighting her and go put your dick in an older woman’s pond.

'Interconnected novel to The Truth about Heartbreak' This is Oliver and Charlie's story, who we've already encountered in The Truth about Heartbreak

After reading 'The Truth about Heartbreak' this book right here became one of my most highly anticipated reads!! I couldn't wait to get a copy in my hands, when it arrived on my kindle, life was put on hold!!

God where to even start with this one!! After a quick refresh I was gearing to go, couldn't wait to dive in and be carried away on the feels train, and let me tell you it was definitely worth the wait!!
Straight away I was pulled into the storyline, this author is just getting better and better, this is her forte, from the flow of the story to the characters made for an unforgettable, unique, unputdownable kind of book. Everything this author threw at me with this book I felt it!! Like a bullet to the heart!!

The chemistry between Ollie and Charlie was off the charts, you could feel it oozing off the pages, these two were just perfect for each other!!

Anyone who enjoys an age gap kind of book throw in that forbidden aspect then this book will definitely tick your boxes. Highly recommend..

The Truth about Tomorrow will send you on an emotional spiral that you won’t see coming. This is not your regular forbidden romance story where two people who are wrong for each other in society's eyes, tries their best not to give into temptation but fails. This story was so much more. Falling was the easy part. But the aftermath and healing process is what made this stand on it’s very own.

Oliver James has had everything that a kid could ever want growing up. Loving parents who had a successful business, a best friend who was like a brother, and an adopted sister whom he would’ve done anything for just to see her happy. But beneath it all, there was always something missing for him and he knew it was vital. Making the decision to move to Chicago and be on his own instead of working for his father’s company was an adjustment but one that he has never regretted. Having a good relationship with his family despite the move, means everything to Ollie especially the bond that he has with Charlie. But things are about to get a whole lot complicated when she moves to Chicago for a while and for Ollie and Charlie, they will head into something much more forbidden.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Finally knowing what it’s like to have a normal family ,Charlie Tucker now has three things that makes her happy: Her adoptive parents, playing music, and her best friend Ollie. A teenager should have a best friend who’s fifteen years older than they are right? But for Ollie and Charlie, they have this unexplainable bond that solidified their friendship from the moment they met and they haven’t looked back since. But that line that they’ve so carefully put in tact, slowly becomes obliterated with one moment.

I have been not so patiently waiting for this book because I knew that this author was going to bring it when it came to the forbidden relationship between Charlie and Ollie and I was practically drooling with need!! She gave me more than what I was expecting when it came to their dynamic and I loved the fact that she didn’t hold back in this story. I felt like she was a bit guarded in the first book but she certainly threw the gloves off for this one and I was happy that she did that.

Ollie and Charlie's relationship was more than complicated and so wrong in other people’s eyes and even our own on so many levels but there was this one big thing that not matter how hard we tried to overlook it and pretend it didn’t exist, it was there like a blaring siren. They loved each other and I’m not talking about that superficial kind of love. These two scared the fuck out of me with their love. It was dangerous because their love had the potential to destroy so many lives in that moment but you felt it. You felt their heart breaking in the process, you saw the sacrifices coming and through it all, you held your breath because their love?... It gave you goosebumps. Their love showed you hope, and their love… was timeless.

If you’re like me and you love an emotional forbidden romance, then I highly recommend you try this one.

Re-read-(7/14-7/17/22)

Some writers have a knack for writing innocuous slow burns. It’s like Seinfeld, the sitcom autonomous for being about nothing but still entertaining. To me Mariana Zapata is queen of this but B Celeste comes in a close second.

Going off the barely 18 problems, I decided to re-read one of my all time favorites. This one pissed quite a few people off because when the everything happened when the FMC was 15 and the MMC was 30. Definitely not two consenting adults, but it’s fiction, taboo to boot.

Plus reading about the turmoil that Ollie endures about the decisions they both make are interesting and tugs your heartstrings. Nobody’s perfect, we all make mistakes but some we don’t regret as much in the long term.

Oliver is dominating in the bedroom, he’s only with women who does what he tells them to do for one night. He sacrificed everything for Charlie, including his dominance because she needed the control for her mental health to survive. If that isn’t love, I don’t know what is.

This one is painful but as the saying goes, you’ll never fully appreciate the light unless you endure the darkness.

It’s not an easy story, not one everyone can agree on. But in the end I found it beautiful in every way imaginable. One that I’ve yet to forget in over two years.

Original Review-(5/18-5/19/20)

This story is nothing short of epic.

This is the most honest look at a forbidden romance. You can feel how uncomfortable it is, how much Ollie disgusts himself for wanting her. But he doesn't just want the sex, he wants her mind, her emotions, her heart. It's beautiful how much it destroys him to give in to both their urges.

I'll admit I was a bit confused at first, I didn't realize this book had a bit of a prequel. So, I had no idea why Charlie had a best friend, Ollie who was 15 years her senior. But did it matter? Did I care? Absolutely not! It was not hard to see they had something special. You'd have to be crazy not to see more then platonic love brewing between them. Should they have waited? Yes. Can i blame them that they didn't? No, because were all only human. I didn't for one second believe that Ollie took advantage. So, before I go too far and give it all away, I'll leave it here. But let me make one thing crystal clear, Ollie and Charlie are fucking magic!

this is just wrong. having sexual and emotional feelings for your adoptive sister’s adoptive daughter who is 15 years younger than you? and while she is sixteen and you are thirty one? there even is this one line from charlie’s sixteenth birthday where she says, “yaay, im no longer half your age!” . i knew what i was getting myself into before starting this book but the story had nothing for me to overlook the odds. Bad bad, wrong wrong and disgusting disgusting storyline.

Not only do I not want to read this because the hero is a pedophile who has sex with a 16-year-old when he’s in his 30s but he also has sex with other women during their separation. I hate when the hero has sex with other women after meeting the heroine in this case it’s even worse because he had had sex with her already

Overall Opinion: This wasn’t quite the angst fest that I was hoping for. It was sad — don’t get me wrong! I just never got all that emotional about the characters. I don’t feel like I really ever connected with the H and it made it hard for me to really understand him. I also felt like I was thrown in to the story with no real explanation as to who these people were. I was even curious if this was part of a series for a little bit and I missed a book before because it just jumps in with a fast pace and it took me a while to fully understand who exactly Ollie was to the h and her parents. That was kind of frustrating tbh. Overall, it was alright but just not as good as I’d hoped.

Brief Summary of the Storyline: This is Charlie and Ollie’s story. Charlie is a damaged girl that is trying to find her place in the world with her music. She has the support of her adoptive parents and Ollie. Ollie is her best friend and her person regardless of the significant age gap between them, and she is eager for the opportunity to move to Chicago to attend a prestigious music boarding school where Ollie lives. Things start to change for them as she gets older and she works through her past and lines are blurred and then crossed as stronger feelings develop between them. There are some sad moments, some family and friend drama, and some sexy times...and they get a HFN ending.

Point Of View (POV): This alternated between Charlie and Ollie’s POV.

Overall Pace of Story: Good until the time jump super quick epilogue. I never skimmed and I thought it flowed well otherwise.

Instalove: No, they developed from confidant to best friends to more.

H (Hero) rating: 3 stars. Ollie. I felt like there was something missing with him because I never fully connected with his character.

h (heroine) rating: 4 stars. Charlie. I appreciated her strength and how she fought for her happiness.

Sadness level: Low, no tissues needed

Push/Pull:Yes

Heat level: Hot. They have some hot tension, chemistry, and scenes -- but not so much it takes away from the story.

Descriptive sex: Yes

OW (Other Woman)/OM (Other Man) drama: Yes

Sex scene with OW or OM: No

Cheating: No

Separation: Yes

Possible Triggers: Yes

Closure: This had some jump ahead scenes in the epilogue but it didn’t quite meet what I want to see to call it a HEA, but I am sure many others would have no problem calling it a HEA. I will call it a HFN ending

Safety: This one is probably Not Safe for most safety gang readers

Genre: Forbidden, Age Gap Romance

The Truth About Tomorrow has become one of my ultimate FAVORITE books for 2019. WOW. What an EPIC love story! This book had me rolling in emotions and left me BREATHLESS in the end. I'm actually having a hard time putting words to this page because of how much it touched me. This is just one of those books that you never want to put down. And if you have to? You're itching to get back into it. Charlie and Ollie are an unconventional couple. But they stole my heart and made me think that age IS just a number and TRUE LOVE trumps all!

Without spoiling the story for potential readers I'll give a small glimpse as to what you get if you choose to read this beautiful love story. First, it's a forbidden , age gap romance. Some may even say it's taboo as Ollie is Charlie's uncle, but since she was adopted I don't think it's as dirty as some would assume. In fact, I didn't care whether they WERE related (blood or not) because of how TRUTHFUL their love was. I mean it literally OOZES from the pages. You'll feel it too. Trust me. Anyway, if you read The Truth about Heartbreak you will recall Charlie being adopted by River and Everett towards the end. This isn't a continuation of that book but it DOES have River and Everett in it. One can tell from reading that epilogue that there's something there (a spark?) between the two even if she is MUCH younger (in a jail bait sort of way) than Ollie. This book? It SPANS that initial spark and will take you on a turbulent journey to their HEA (if they get one muahaaha). Some areas MAY make readers uncomfortable. I won't go into details but it has to do with their age. But look past that and remember it's fiction. If you can't do that then this book isn't for you. If perhaps you can keep an open mind and relish in forbidden love then I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS ONE. You won't regret it.

B. Celeste writes this story in such a poetic way I had a hard time putting it down. And then when it finished I wanted to cry. I'll certainly miss these beautiful characters but I am so looking forward to see what the author churns out next. Hopefully, it's as deliciously forbidden as this one! I freakin LOVED IT.

I read the extended sneak peak and I think this book is going to far. 4 years age difference and your best friends adoptive sister that’s fine. A Grown ass man sleeping with his adopted niece is gross and not a story I would want to read.

I first want to start out by saying that I didn't NOT like this book. I am going to do my best at explaining all of that just very briefly because I don't feel like this book should have to have a lot of negativity.

The main thing I did not like about this entire story was the length of it. I'm never afraid to read a long book. I was not intimidated by the size of this story at all. 500 pages is a breeze for me. BUT...I just felt like it should have been 200 pages shorter. I really liked the author's writing and the trope didn't bother me (although I DO feel like if the author was going to be so explicit about it, the age gap should have been way less than what it was but I have read worse) but there was a lot of excessive scenes and internal dialogue that was just not needed. And when I say that, I don't think I am exaggerating one bit.

Tropes like this story teeter on two different edges. People will know what this book is about, read it, and still hate it. Even though they are very much aware of the trope. I don’t think that is fair so I think that is why I really wanted to clarify that that WASN’T the reason I didn’t LOVE the book. I think the book contained great writing and characters that had an immense amount of depth and feelings but the book as a whole was just too long and excessive with lots of internal droning.

“When you love people, you sacrifice your feelings to give them what they need. I think that’s what people don’t understand about love; it hurts. It’s not about a happily ever after you get when the story ends, it’s about the sacrifice you make to get there.”

My poor, poor heart. This book absolutely wrecked me. After meeting Charlie and Ollie in THE TRUTH ABOUT HEARTBREAK, I knew that their story was going to be pretty special, and I wasn’t disappointed. If, like me, you are a bit of a sucker for an “age-gap” romance, then you definitely need to read this book!!

The Truth About Tomorrow is a full length novel focused on Charlie and Ollie, who we previously met in The Truth About Heartbreak.

Forbidden Romance √
Age Gap √
Angst √

Wow! What an epic romance this was! The Truth About Tomorrow is the latest gem from the talented B. Celeste. These characters stole my heart from the very first page with their playful banter and magnetic chemistry. Their touching story brings out all of the feels and left me breathless in the end. I'm actually struggling to find the words to express just how much I loved this book. This is one of those stories that will hook you from the get go and leave you completely unable to put it down.

The Truth About Tomorrow was four-hundred-plus pages of pure pleasure to read. Charlie and Ollie's story was difficult, passionate and full of heart-tugging emotion. B. Celeste breathes new life into the forbidden relationship trope with Charlie and Ollie's romance. Their romance wasn't an easy story to tell, and they weren't always an easy couple to root for. But B. Celeste's writing is addictive, and she penned a gripping romance that I simply could not put down. The Truth About Tomorrow easily gets 5 stars from me.

Big Big Big Age Gap Dark Romance.

This story is about Charlie who was adopted by River & Everett in The Truth About Heartbreak. She was adopted at the end of the story at the age of 13 when she first met River’s brother Oliver, who is also Everett’s best friend. Their sexual relationship starts when she is 16 & he is 31. *trigger warnings for rape, child abuse, drug use, overdose, depression*

I admired Charlie and her witty personality even if it was a coping mechanism for what happened to her in her early childhood. Charlie loves music and finds it to be an outlet for her feelings. She knows that the town she lives in now isn’t where she wants to be and pushes to move to Chicago. A place where she can attend music school and of course where Oliver lives.

I absolutely understand if the age gap could be to large. Being 16 is a bit young but I thought that it was handle well with the repercussions that happened. Her relationship with Oliver was built upon trust and being able to open up to each other.

This book was easy to get into and I found myself reading it in about a day so that I could find out if they get their happy ending or not.

Well, it wasn't what I expected.

After wasting 2 days of my life on this one, I've decided that this book deserves nothing more from me.

It wasn't that bad but god I had expectations from this one. The author tried to dish out angst but it lacked heat. I couldn't connect to any of the main characters (or the side ones).

The three stars are for decent writing, a semi-steamy smut scene and my time gone reading this one.

This is probably a high 3/low 4 because I did think the book was interesting, but I didn't agree with so much of this book. Especially after reading the first book. The main characters were alright, but separately.

Charlie was fine in the first half. I truly believed that she was just a girl that was just trying to look for herself after she had been dealt bad circumstances. I think she should've had more repercussions for her actions. Her backstory didn't really feel important in the story. It felt like she had a tragic backstory just to mirror River/Everett's story. Her background also made her go to therapy where the author could analyze Charlie/Ollie's relationship. It just felt very obvious. The only therapy part I liked was after Ollie left.

Ollie just seemed kind of like a pushover. I like him a lot better in Book 1. In this book, he's honestly kind of creepy. He starts off well and immediately shuts Charlie down. Like he should. But when you read the book more, he has like no friends. He has a couple co-workers, but their only purpose is to push him to get married. His friend is Everett but obviously he can't talk to him. But it's kind of weird that his only friend is a 16 year old girl. There's no excuse. It's creepy. He kept on talking about how he couldn't touch her, but then proceeded to do stuff with her. Like he didn't really try pushing her away. If she was that important, he would've given her that space until she was older. If they were meant to be, she still would've been there. So none of that BS where she came on to him or he couldn't resist her anymore. You're the adult. Act like it.

I think one reason why I couldn't really connect to their relationship was because I never got to see it. The book started and she was already in love with him. She had no friends and she had a tragic backstory. That's all I knew about her. So it makes me think that Ollie was one of the first people who made her feel safe and that she latched onto him because of it. I felt like she kind of used him as a crutch. If she had other friends she was able to open up to then maybe I wouldn't have felt like she just liked him because he was the first one. They kind of implied Ollie was using her as a crutch too because he wasn't happy with his life or whatever. That didn't really make sense b/c Charlie kept saying he wasn't happy with his job. But he spent his whole POV complaining about how his life wasn't great because he couldn't be with Charlie and that he was lying. But then when shit happened, everyone acted like he left because he didn't like his job? Like no?

One of the main things I liked was how people responded to their relationship. Granted, there were only like three characters who knew about it. Liam, the friend, had an appropriate response. Him throwing her shoes were a little invasive but whatever. He was kind of so insignificant though. There was that plot with him being gay, but I didn't really care enough about him. I think it's because Charlie spent most of the book not fully liking him, so I didn't either.

Everett is my favorite character. He had every right to respond the way he did. Ollie, his best friend, came on to his adopted daughter. It sounds so creepy. River was just a wallflower. She didn't do much. But Everett made all the good points. But since it's Ollie's love story, he doesn't get any repercussions. Everett kind of forgives him in, which there is no way he would've. The book also has this fight with Ollie and Everett where it's trying to show that Everett is a hypocrite. Like no. In no way are their situations the same and I hated this book for even comparing it. River came on to Everett when she was 16 and he never even thought about her that way. He shut her down. Then time passes and she's older and grown. That's when their stuff starts to happen. So if anyone's a creep, it's still Ollie. But the book wants to make you think he's still morally upright and not a creep.

Every fight Charlie had with people makes you see how naive and young she is. Her backstory keeps on being the excuse to why she's not like other girls. She's dealt with shit so she knows the world isn't great and that's why she's mature enough. Like no. Every time she brought up how she knows bad people and Ollie isn't just shows how little she knows. Bad people don't just constitute the people you've met. She's met pretty terrible people. Rapists, drug dealers, addicts. But that's not all the bad people in the world. And it doesn't even matter if Ollie is a bad person or not. He's doing something really bad and even if their love is pure, he could go to jail for that. Her coming onto him and not realizing those consequences is incredibly naive. She thinks it's alright because they love each other, but it's not ok and if she loved him and was as mature as she says, then she would've waited.

I don't agree with their relationship at all. I don't like how everyone was just supposed to deal with the fact that Ollie slept with a 16 year old. I don't like how their future as a couple was never addressed. Only in the epilogue. Because that glosses over all the backlash they definitely received. I don't like how Everett got forced into backing down and forgiving Ollie when he was in the right. I don't like how Charlie's backstory was just a plot device for her to bring up more and more tragic things so she could get out of facing the consequences for her actions.

Honestly, this book was just trying to draw parallels to the first book. Similar forbidden love, but just even more dramatic. I didn't like it. I liked Ollie in the first book, but I don't now. Everett is the best character hands down. The most sensible one. But the writing wasn't that bad compared to other books, so it's a high 3.

I’m gonna give this one 4 stars and NOT because of the content per se, more because it was too long and I got a little bored.

With all the yammering about underage sexual relationships, taboo, and forbidden romance books I can’t believe this hasn’t been pulled from Amazon shelves as well. Which, might I add, IS CENSORSHIP! You have the choice to read what you want and it shouldn’t make people hate you or think you are sick because you decide to read FICTION...DID YOU HEAR ME...FIC-TION!!!!!!

This is the tale of Charlie and Ollie. She is 13 when they meet, as she was adopted by his adopted sister River and his best friend Everett, and he is 28. They have a connection that is instant!! As Charlie says, their love happened in layers. He was a friend, then he was family, then he was lover. They begin a sexual relationship when she is 16, so if you can’t stomach that then..MOVE ON!

This is more than a romance people! This is a love on such a basic level that made my heart hurt. Ollie is just as fucked up as Charlie is! This is a child that is a product of abuse the likes of which should have made her worse that what she was. She was in foster care for 6-7 years and was dealt a shit hand there as well. When she meets River and Everett and they take her in she meets Oliver James and he is her best friend, in every sense of the word. He doesn’t see her damage, her flaws, her scars. He sees a girl that is beautiful and bright and kind and funny and he always endeavors to make her happy. He will always be there to make her happy.

Oliver, wants for nothing, has the best childhood, the best friends, the best parents, the best education and leaves New York to move to Chicago to work for an aspiring company. He, in a nutshell, is miserable. He drowns his sorrows in women and booze. He is a sad man honestly.

Charlie moves to Chicago to study music, which she is brilliant at and Ollie is there to watch over her. This girl has never had a friend other than Ollie and he makes her life better. She makes his life better. Did I think it odd that he would find her sexually attractive at 16 maybe a little, but you have to look at this girls past. She is NOT your normal everyday run of the mill teenager. This child has had every decision, every first taken away from her. She is mature more than most her age. She knew that Ollie was destined to be hers. He GIVES her the choice even though he knew it was wrong, he let her choose where they would go.

It was heartbreaking. The ride that the author takes us on is both sad for the h/H and for the secondary characters. This family is torn apart for several years until Charlie takes charge of her life. The love that these two have for each other is unbelievable. The epilogue is so special and equally gut wrenching. Then you move into the novella that was stellar!!!
My only gripe with this book was so much could have been cut out. It was long and I lost interest and like the first book I read by this author there wasn’t enough dialogue (although this one had more than the first) but the story was great!

There are triggers in this book so make sure you read the warning!!! I think I summed it up tho!

okay where do I start

This book takes you on the journey that is considered Oliver's and Charlie's love story. Charlie is less than half his age, but age is just a number when it comes to love right? It's forbidden, but it's also statutory rape, incest, and pedophilia. This whole book romanticizes the idea it's okay that your 16 and I'm 31 because you want it and I'm willing to give it to you. No matter even if she did say yes you should have stopped. If this kind of behavior isn't accepted in the real world, why is it accepted in the fiction world? Yes, I won't deny you the fact that it was a great story, but it doesn't change the fact that Oliver met Charlie when she was 13. Has Oliver loved her since she was 13? Honestly, I really hate that this book romanticizes such "forbidden" things because, minus that fact, this was a good book, maybe even a great one. But it doesn't change the fact that Oliver met Charlie when she was 13 and had sex with her while she was 16 and he was 31.

No otras puses, it nemaz nav slikti uzrakstīts. Man patika izdzīvot līdzi galvenās varones garīgās izveseļošanās procesu.

Beigas gan nedaudz sierainas.

Where do I even begin to form the words to give this book the highest of ratings that it deserves? It’s not as simple as just saying it was great, or that it was wonderful.
This book is truly a masterpiece. B. Celeste continues to blow me away with her story telling abilities and her way with words.

I absolutely, whole heartedly, ADORED this book. This is a story that sticks with you for a long time. It proves that love is love, despite your age difference. You can’t help but fall head over heels in love with Ollie and Charlie’s story. These two were meant for each other. Time unfortunately is standing between the two as Ollie is about 16 years older than Charlie, but things have a way of working out for them in the end. (And thank god for that!)

But the time between them meeting and to them finally getting their HEA, was no easy task. It was filled with love, friendship, angst, drama, tears, hurt, and longing. This story really pulled on my heart strings and I found myself crying right along with the characters.

B. Celeste, you amaze me with your talent!! You are one of the most talented authors I have ever had the honor of reading. Thank you for bringing this story to life!

I highly encourage everyone to pick up this book, and enjoy the ride. It’s a beautiful story, one that I love very much!

Intertwined with the characters from “The Truth About Heartbreak”, this story continues with Ollie and Charlie. She is technically his adopted niece from his adopted sister… and she is also 16 years old, so why is it that they have a magnetic connection and growing attraction for each other?

Do not read if you are not comfortable with taboo/age gap romance. Some parts made me mildly uncomfortable and I have to say I skimmed some parts that I felt were filler chapters. Ollie and Charlie are cute together but I wish she had been 18+. Ollie, honey… you’re half her age.

chemistry, tension, and the forbidden romance is off the charts, but I’m going to have to rate it 2.5 stars because some parts gave me second hand embarrassment.

The Truth About Tomorrow by B.Celeste is the story of Charlie and Oliver 'Ollie'.
Charlie has had a very abusive and heartbreaking childhood until she was adopted at the age of 13 by Everett and River. Charlie connected quickly with Ollie who is River's adopted brother in addition to be about 15 years older than her. They were close friends with no other real feelings until she turned 16 they things were slowly changing between them. I think there is a previous book with River and Everrett's story but I haven't read it yet...so for me this was a standalone book. I did enjoy their story and would like to go back and read that story too.

I had a really hard time with the fact that the main female character was 15 and the male character was 30. Seemed to be romanticizing pedophilia and what in my state of Texas is considered rape. Would not recommend.

There were many things I loved but my god the major issue with this book I just can’t look over it. So I just won’t rate it.

I am a huge lover of this author, and this book did not disappoint!! This is so much more than an age gap romance! There's a taboo element, yes, but I never once saw the taboo with these characters. These are just two people who against all odds, and despite what society says is right or wrong, fell in love with one another. I loved this book so much!!

We have Charlie and Ollie, who we met in the interconnected novel The Truth About Heartbreak, and here we learn about all the horrific things Charlie has been through. I don't want to soil anything for those who haven't read it yet, but Charlie is a survivor through and through. I loved everything about her, and I never once saw her age. She was just a young woman who had something horrific happen to her -- something nobody should experience, let alone a child-- and she was still able to get out of bed every morning and live. I was in awe of her. Charlie is usually very wary of people, men especially, but when she first met Ollie when River and Everett adopted her, she immediately felt a kinship with him, and her feelings grew from there.

Ollie is fifteen years older than Charlie, and you see him struggle with his feelings in a really authentic way. He knows he shouldn't feel this way about someone so young, he tells himself it's not right and that something is wrong with him, but at what age is it wrong to love someone? Is love ever wrong? Do life circumstances and age go hand in hand, or does age in general really make up a person? These are all questions that Ollie asks himself in regards to Charlie, but in the end he just can't fight it. He knew exactly what Charlie needed, when she needed it. They were so intune with own another, and it was really magical to witness.

*small spoiler*
I also really loved the scene when Ollie and Charlie were first intimate with one another. It was passionate and all consuming, much like their love for one another. I loved how Ollie didn't touch Charlie, and let her take back control of her own body in more ways than one.

And as much as I got Everett's stance on their relationship (I have two daughters, and I would have pretty much the same reaction to a thirty year old man and my daughter) I was so mad at the way he reacted. He knew Ollie, knew that he wasn't a predator, or was taking advantage of Charlie in anyway. As much as I understood where he was coming from, I was still so angry with him, and that just showcases how much talent this author has as well: when you can side with two characters at the complete opposite ends of the spectrum of a situation like this, that's when you know you've stumbled on something truly incredible.

I don't want to give away any more of their story, but this book is truly amazing!! These characters are so flawed, but their love for each other never wavers, even after all that is against them. And their ending? So PERFECT! Please ignore the negative comments and read this book. You will see why it's one of the best romances of 2019!!
