This was just ok for me... Spencer was kinda cute in a nerdy kinda way but for a person who's supposed to be a genius he's pretty dense!!
Abby was just ok.. I got tired of her insecurities, she didn't seem like she was an insecure person in the previous books, And I actually didn't feel any chemistry between them, maybe it's just me.

I still think Asher is the best and no one can take his spot. #Asherismyman.

Gideon... Gideon... Gideon.. tsk... tsk.. Even though I like your skanky funny ass I won't force myself to read your book, I don't think the author can save his character in a way that would make me like him as a hero. I just really hope the author doesn't give him a virgin but we all know authors think that a manwhore is worthy of a virgin.
I imagine every woman that he has slept with in this town would come out and be catty towards his heroine.

Absolutely agree with Leonor.

I expected Abby to be more self-confident. She was still good, not a doormat!!!
He was just ok. Cute guy, but so slow... I thought he'd never dare to make a move...

Gideon... OMG. Was he adopted?

I enjoy this author's writing a lot.
Please DON'T let this manho/Gideon's heroine be a virgin or inexperienced girl.
Pretty please!!!

Favorite Quotes:

If I didn’t need money so bad I would consider referring him to someone else. He’s so hot it’s distracting.

Earth’s atmosphere is twenty-one percent oxygen which makes my current level of breathlessness confusing.

Abby said you looked different but I didn’t believe her. You get bit by some radioactive spider in your lab man? ‘Cuz, holy shit, you’ve grown.

He smiles up at me, oblivious to the spinach leaf stuck to one of his back teeth. I point to my teeth. “You have something stuck in your teeth.” He nods, unbothered by this news. “I was saving it for later.”

That doesn’t stop me from carrying out a pretend conversation in my head. These are my favorite kind because I can control both sides of the conversation and not get in any trouble for saying what I want.

“Do you have a giant computer?” The corners of his eyes crinkle with his smile. “Huge.” “Oh, this conversation is starting to feel like foreplay.” He chokes, covering his mouth with the back of his hand as he coughs. “Science talk as foreplay. You might be my dream girl.”

My mouth waters like he’s fresh baked bread and I’m on a no carb diet.

My Review:

I am on book three of my continuing expedition of veneration and adoration for Carey Heywood and her The Fix Series. I cherish and pine for this author’s delightful wry humor and sweet and steamy stories between her releases. The books I have read so far have been a joy to read, amusingly clever, low conflict, written in my favorite dual POV, and pleasantly breezy with appealing and lovably quirky characters with a bit of edge. Her books do my heart good and tend to keep a smirk in place while reading. I adored Spencer, not only was he highly intelligent and sexy, he was patient, kind, thoughtful, polite, and a perfect gentleman who was also a gentle man – which is nirvana to me. Being a man of science and never having had a relationship, the clever and crafty Ms. Heywood has the brilliant and sexy Dr. Hill patiently and wisely applying the scientific method to his interactions with his high-school crush/current realtor Abby, he postulated a theory, formulated a hypothesis, performed his research, and gathered evidence from his experiments. Ingenious!

Spencer Hill is an astrophysicist working at the university in his old home town in New Hampshire. Abby Thompson is the peppy younger sister to Noah and Asher from the first two books. Acquaintances back in high school, when Spencer needs a realtor, his mother knows who to call.

Like the heroes in the series books before him, Spencer is an upstanding guy—a real gentleman.

“I’m not going to make her jealous, and I’m not going to force myself on her.”

He avoids some popular romance pitfalls, displaying his maturity and intelligence. While Noah remains my favorite hero from this series, Spencer is a good guy too.

Abby was a cute supporting character in the previous books, seemingly confident and even a bit of a matchmaker so I was disappointed when Abby’s insecurities showed in her own relationship. Eventually she handled it well, but I would have had more respect for her if she’d also confided in/conversed with Spencer about her feelings.

Fitting with the rest of the series, the story is low angst and slow burn. While the steam level has never been high, I don’t know what happened with this one. The sex scenes are fade-to-black or skipped over. It definitely could have benefited from some more details and to be spiced up.

One other item to note, which pulled me out of the story to ponder and felt a bit awkward dialogue wise. There’s what I would deem an inaccurate exchange between Abby and Spencer where Abby claims that all professors are doctors in regards to the titles Spencer and his colleague go by, which Spencer confirms, and then asserts that ‘professor’ is a cooler name than ‘doctor.’ While the later could be construed as simply her opinion, most Ph.D holders I’ve ever known would certainly prefer ‘Dr.’ over ‘professor’ when being addressed since they put in the time and study and earned that degree. In fact, some professors would even take offense to not being called ‘Dr.’ The terms are not entirely interchangeable as most but not all professors (post secondary teachers) hold doctorate degrees. You can teach at a college level with a master’s as well (probably more likely an adjunct position as opposed to tenure track); hence often where the ‘professor’ title is used by the students since they can’t call them “Dr.” While ‘Professor’ is the highest ranking position as opposed to ‘Associate Professor’ and ‘Assistant Professor’ among the faculty hierarchy, typically students don’t pay a lot of attention to that.

Told via Abby and Spencer’s alternating first person POV, this third book in the series can be read as a standalone. The couples from Fix Her Up and Fix Me Not make appearances.

4.5 stars — A friend told me I was going to fall in love with Spencer, and boy was she ever right!! But it wasn’t just Spencer, I loved Abby too!! My absolute favourite books always have two great characters that I love.

I already loved Abby a bit from the previous two books, but I love her even more in this book. Here we get to see what makes her up, and she was this perfect combination of sweet and sassy!! I adored her confidence and how proficient she was at her job…I loved how we got to see how her skills of observation made her exceptional at finding the right home for her clients. I loved the way she overcame the sinkhole, and she was just really down to earth in general. I also really felt how insecure she was about how she would stack up against Spencer’s colleagues, and their specific kind of intelligence. The thing that surprised me the most, and what made me fall even more in love with her, was how she overcame the challenge with Nadine.

Spencer was so awkwardly adorkable, I could hardly stand it. Occasionally his miscues were hard to take, he would completely misinterpret some situations and say the wrong thing. He was so endearing though, and I loved that once he made up his mind to go after Abby, he could not be deterred. There was no wavering of his affections for her, they were consistent. He may have been insecure about why someone would want him, but that didn’t stop him from being firm in his relationship with Abby.

Their chemistry was so smooth and delicious. I was all tummy butterflies, and I ADORED how they finally came together (thanks Sam!) and OMG, that whole first major kiss was AMAZING!! I loved the way they interacted in other situations too, and how they worked out their problems and insecurities together eventually. It may have taken them awhile to get over themselves and get together, but once there they felt very strong together, and so sweet.

This story had a wonderful set of secondary characters as well. I loved seeing the whole Thompson clan again, and loved seeing developments with both Finley & Noah and Paige & Asher. It was very satisfying for fans of the series, but would not be offputting to those jumping in to this one as their first book. It’ll just make you want to read the rest. Abby’s BFF Sam was awesome too, it was nice to see Abby have such a strong female friendship given that she grew up in a family of brothers. Spencer’s coworker Duncan was BIZARRE…he made me laugh, but he really was over the top…in an endearing way.

Honestly, my one (and I think really only) complaint (and the reason I rounded down instead of up) is that I wasn’t always a fan of the time jumps when the new chapter started. I would get into a scene, and then the next chapter would start and it would be hours/days/weeks/months later. It was a bit unsatisfying. Basically I wanted Ms. Heywood to write an 800 page book with all the details of every interaction between Spencer and Abby. I mean, is that really too much to ask? 😛

I can’t wait to see who tames Gideon, and how Eli’s story plays out. I honestly have no idea how that’s going to go. But as a beta hero fan, this is probably going to end up my favourite of the series. Spencer and Abby’s love story was just so happiness making.

**ARC provided by the author in exchange for an honest review**

A nerdy side of romance that was a delight to indulge in.

Fix my Fall by Carey Heywood is the third book in her The Fix series and one that shouldn’t be missed if you love sweet, romantic novels with a hint of humor. This is a standalone, however, you obtain glimpses of both Abby and Spencer in the previous books, Fix Her Up and Fix Me Not plus other characters from the well known Thompson family interchange throughout.

“No more falling”

“I’ll always catch you.”

Spencer Hill is a astrophysicist, living and breathing his job, having no time for love. Recently back home and about to make a life where he grew up, his mother elects the help of Abby Thompson, his past high school flame now turned real estate agent in finding the perfect home… little does he know, he finds more than just a home with her help.

Abby Thompson comes from an overbearing household of male domination, but it has helped set her up for reality. Strong, independent and self assured; when life threw her a curve ball she picks up the pieces and keeps moving forward. This time however, when her world starts to fall, will Spencer be there to catch her?

Carey Heywood writes utter sweetness within her books. The development of characters she conjures are well thought of and bring so much light to the surface… it’s almost hard to describe how much they embed within your soul, how much you as the reader can connect with them. The relationship between Spencer and Abby was a powerful slow burn with a low angst in which I truly liked.

I am happy to see Abby who comes from an all testosterone household find her HEA. I enjoyed this geekier side of a romance that had a subtle comical side to love. Well done Carey!

SPONSORERET ANMELDELSE

4,5 stjerner

First there was Noah, and I loved him unconditionally.
No one was going to touch him.
Then came Asher. In a shocking turn of events, Asher trumped Noah for me.
I literally didn't want anyone else to read Fix Me Not, because I did not want to share him.
So, my expectations going into Fix My Fall were low. Would I like Spencer? Probably. I mean, Carey Heywood wrote him, afterall.
But would I *LOVE* him? Love him more than Asher?!
Haha. Hahahahaha.
Never.

...I was wrong.

Spencer is the ultimate book boyfriend. He is so dang awkward and nerdy and doesn't get sarcasm very well, but that all just makes him perfect. He is so literal, but also so honest. You know what you get with him.
And Abby. Oh, sweet Abby. I've had time to warm up to her in the previous two books, but I didn't now I would adore her as much as I did. She is headstrong and independent and dang it, I want to be her when I grow up.

I didn't think I was going to love this story much, because of Spencer's job. All that sciency stuff just goes over my head, but Carey did her research, and she wrote it in a way that was entertaining. There was still all this science/space jargon...but I didn't skim the pages or get a headache trying to digest what was being said. Carey added this info in seamlessly with the rest of the story.

I loved this book so much. Watching Abby and Spencer's relationship turn from friendship into more exciting and squee-worthy.

Carey has done it again, with Fix My Fall.
So, again, while I don't want to share Spencer...I'll take one for the team, and tell you to go read this book...Now.

My quite fond of the Thompson family, they’re a good, fun break from my usual dense, heartrending reads. I know when I start one of these books I’m going to get a few hours of sweet, enjoyable romance. It’s like going home after a particularly arduous work week or even heading off for a day of pampering when you’ve been momming it 24/7 for months on end. Carey Heywood’s Fix series is a safe, comforting place to return to.

Fix My Fall is the third book in Carey Heywood’s Fix series. These books are interconnected stand-alones and can be read without any knowledge of the other books in the series. However, the series revolves around a set of siblings, so you do see a lot of the characters from the previous books in Fix My Fall. This book is written in dual first-person perspective, narrated by Abby & Spencer.

Abby was tough; she had to be with four brothers and her slightly overbearing – in the best way possible – parents. If she had been any weaker, she couldn’t have held her own with all those giant personalities and the Thompson family legacy. I’d questioned her reticence to date in the other books, and the blurb of Fix My Fall made me think she had gone through something major, but it may have been the experience of my typical reads informing my expectations. I do wish we would have found out more about why she was so reluctant to date, however.

Spencer was the sweetest. I loved how gentle he was with Abby, even when she was more than capable than taking care of herself. And the boy had a brain, which he actually used to navigate his relationship rather than just relying on instincts and poor advice from his friends. I thought it was adorable – I know, no man likes to be called adorable under ANY circumstance – that he didn’t try to start anything with Abby until he was 100% sure she was ready for it. He was really quite perfect in every way.

Fix My Fall covered quite an extended period, though there was big time jumps so it didn’t feel like we had to wait too long for things to happen. I appreciated that Carey Heywood gave them that time to get to know one another well and build their relationship on something more than attraction and physical chemistry. Their relationship and the way they dealt with the few snags they encountered felt real and solid.

Carey Heywood is my go-to for this kind of quick, sweet romance. Her characters always feel like old friends and visiting them is comforting. Her stories are heartwarming and relatable. Her books aren’t difficult, thought-provoking, exposes, but they will always find a place on my reading line-up because they’re so enjoyable and humble.

ARC received for an honest review

This is the 3rd book in the Fix series, and can be read as a stand alone - but why would you want to miss any of the Thompson family fun?

Abby is the only Thompson daughter and doesn't like showing any weakness like asking her family for help. I get that, we all want to prove ourselves.

Enter the blast from the past Spencer, who is now a sexy scientist and she is still everything he ever wanted.

I loved that they didn't just jump into bed together. They have a real slow burn of things, from friends to more.

There is no OTT drama, and love that Abby is kind of a "fixer", though she doesn't like relying on others to fix her problems. And I love that of her. Strong, independent women are something I love in my books.

Fix My Fall is my favourite in the series so far, light and flirty, just the kind of read I needed.

Can't wait to see what Ms Heywood brings us next.

I am a SUCKER for an awkward nerd and Spencer Hill fits that bill so perfectly. Carey Heywood's The Fix series has not let me down yet. Strong, independent heroines. Sexy, sweet heroes, that are a little on the shy side, but a LOT on the alpha side when given the opportunity and the privacy. And Spencer and Abby's story doesn't disappoint.

Abby Thompson is the only girl among four brothers. Overbearing. Sometimes caveman-ish. But they are ALWAYS there for her when she needs them. And when her house collapses, she needs them. So not only do you get Spencer and Abby's story, but you get a little more about each of the couples from previous series, and glimpses of siblings from the books yet to come. Living with four brothers has prepared Abby well for the real world, though. She's strong and determined and she never gives up. She cries and then she pulls up her big girl panties and gets back to work as one of Woodlake's best realtors. Her only goal is to make enough money to find a new house, one that checks all her boxes. She's definitely not expecting to find a guy that does the same.

Spencer Hill is an astrophysicist. Having moved back to Woodlake for a job at the university, he's staying at his parents' until he has the time, or motivation, to find his own place. He's gained both height and muscle mass since high school, but at heart, he's still the same person. He's slightly clueless, not very social, and pretty much his only focus is his work. But when he meets up with Abby, on whom he had a massive crush in H.S., in order to look at some real estate, he decides that maybe it's time for his focus to shift.

This is absolutely a deliciously slow burn. But, oh, it burns so good. Spencer may not be great at subtlety, but his swoon factor is off the charts. And Abby, she has such a good heart and I am so glad she found her match in Spencer. The epilogue had me sobbing a flood of happy tears.

This entire series is wonderful. The perfect combo of hot and sweet, with the HEA each couple deserves. I hope Ms. Heywood is furiously writing the next sibling's story. I can't get enough.

Fix My Fall is the third book in the Fix series by Carey Heywood. The books while all interconnected are complete standalones. First Carey gave us Noah and Findley love story, then we got Asher and Paige's, now we get Noah and Asher's little sister Abby and an astrophysicist Named Spencer. I ADORE this series!!

Spencer Hill is a SEXY astrophysicist, just moving back home living in his parents basement until he can find a home to buy. In steps Abby.

Abby Thompson, was his high school crush, now his Realtor. I've LOVED Abby's character in the first two books, and couldn't wait for her to get her own book!

Carey Heywood gives us an another absolutely PERFECT slow burning love story. One thing I love about this series, is there really isn't much angst. And there are so many laugh out loud moments in this book. So we get funny on top of the sweet and sexy with a touch of sizzle! Carey knows how to create the PERFECT characters. She knows how to entertain her readers. This series is A MUST READ!!!!

Rcvd an ARC at no cost to author. This is the third book in this series and yes it can be read as a standalone but you will missing out since these books are talking about siblings. Spencer's whole life revolves around working he does not have time for love. He is back home and his mother wants him to help out his ex-girlfriend Abby. Abby has a whole bunch of brothers who are overbearing, she really doesn't need there help because she is strong herself but unfortunately her life starts to fall apart, and guess who is back Spencer. There love goes slower than we are used to but not less rewarding..Enjoy!

Abby and Spencer were both good characters. I absolutely adored Spencer. He was a sweetheart, and had this sexy nerd thing going on. He’d had a crush on Abby since high school but was always too nervous to ask her out. Abby had a great family and big brothers who loved and protected her. She was attracted to Spencer, but was scared he didn’t feel the same way. There were a couple of times I wanted to reach in my Kindle and tell these two to open their eyes. Luckily Abby’s friend Sam took care of that for me.

I’ve enjoyed this series and look forward to the other brothers’ stories.

Spencer's thoughts although distinguished could still be caveman at times, “tonight?” That long? Christ, I want to throw her over my shoulder right now and carry her right up to that loft bed." Spencer is like the voice of reason at times, "He laughs at how pathetic I sound. “You can pee and come get back into bed.” I really liked this book, I loved Spencer and Abby.

I was really looking forward to reading about Abby Thompson after getting little snippets of her in the previous two books. I didn’t enjoy this book as much as I hoped I would or as much as the previous two in the Fix series. At the beginning I felt like she tried to make Spencer over the top geeky. Then as the book went on that geekiness was a bit more subdued which I liked better. I liked Abby just as I did in the other books and by the end I liked Abby and Spencer together. It just took a little longer to get interested. Overall a good read. I look forward to the next book...Gideon?

I gave this book 4 stars!!!

This is the first book I have read from this author and I have learned there are more of the Thompson family books, so now I am going to have to add those books to my ever long TBR (that will eventually get read). This book was a fun, light, good romance read. It just what I needed!!! I found myself loving Spencer and his nerdy ways.

Abby was the popular kid in high school and now is a realtor. Spencer was always a nerd in high school and had the biggest crush on Abby. When Spencer comes back in town to work, he is in need of a new house. So his mom sets him up with Abby. With Abby seeing Spencer in different light, and Spencer trying to hid the fact that he still has a crush , can these two finally get together or will someone else break them apart?

I cant wait to read more from this author.

Så er min anmeldelse endelig oppe på bloggen!
Bare følg linket her i bunden for at finde den! 📚👇🏽

Fix my Fall by Carey Heywood is the third book in her The Fix series and this book is just a lighthearted, good read with only light angst. It is not a heavy read, more of a sweet romance. Spencer Hill is a astrophysicist who lives and breathes his job. He has recently moved back home and his mother has enlisted Abby Thompson to help him find the perfect home. Only thing is, she is his former girlfriend from when they were in high school and the crush he never got over. There was sparks immediately when they meet back up. Abby is a successful real estate agent who comes from having to deal with all these men in her family telling her what to do and her having to deal with all that male testosterone--When really Abby feels inferior because her siblings are more successful than her. Abby wants someone to see her for who she is and like/love her and cherish her. Abby is a kind, sweet, independent, successful, funny, beautiful woman. She hasn’t had really had good luck dating and when she finds out she will be helping Spencer find a home since he will be working at a new job locally, all those old feelings come back that she felt for him years before.
She did help him find a home but what was awesome was the way these two let a friendship develop first. They didn’t let the obvious chemistry get in the way of a friendship first. Not to say there wasn’t some angst , which was on the low side and some twists and turns to get in the way first. Then after the friendship was solidly developed, then did their friendship move past and start to develop and it was so way past what they had in high school. I loved the fact they had this awesome 2nd chance at love and it was more mature and lasting. The sexual tension was high but it was fantastic reading their romance. Their foundation was solid , Spencer was aww –inspiring and Abby was sweet yet strong when needed to be. Their witty banter, their steamy chemistry was just the right tone and the humor was fantastic. I enjoyed this 3rd book in the series and I can’t wait to see what else is in store for us with this series!

This book was absolutely adorkable.

High school nerd Spencer is all grown up, back in town after years, working as an astrophysicist at the local college -- and desperate to get out of his parents' basement. Abby, who he had a crush on as a teen, is one of the local realtors. In between house hunting, the two develop a genuine friendship — as well as a genuine attraction. But Spencer can't imagine that Abby sees him as anything more than the dork he was back when he was her brother's tutor, and Abby simply thinks that a genius like Spencer couldn't possibly be interested in her.

I adored how Heywood wrote these two characters. Spencer's voice was so clearly nerd. He theorized, hypothesized and tested every decision in both his personal and professional life, including testing whether Abby was truly attracted to him or not. And the little things he did for Abby, both before and once they started dating, are swoon-worthy. And Abby's life is a hot mess when she first meets Spencer, but he's there to catch her when she falls over and over again.

Fix My Fall was an adorable feel-good romance. The connection between Spencer and Abby is genuine, the supporting cast of characters are so funny (I need to go read Asher's story now!) and the pacing of their relationship is perfect. There are a few instances where something would happen at the end of a chapter that I expected to pick up on the next page, but instead, it's like days later, and I felt that those particular questions were unresolved. But still, that didn't take away from how much I enjoyed this story. I easily read it in a day. And their sexy times weren't overly graphic, which is a nice change from some other books in this genre.

I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.

Carey's books always make me smile. She creates such sweet and loving characters that I would happily call my friends. And with this story, she added one of my favorite type of heroes—the awkward nerd.

Spencer was that dorky brainiac who didn't peak until college, which led to his lack of self-assuredness when it came to social situations. This seemed to be even more so once he was back in the orbit of his high school crush, Abby. Likewise, Abby struggled with her own awkwardness because she had doubts that she could be enough for Spencer. Yes, she was gorgeous and sweet, but could she be his equal intellectually? The more they interacted, the more I could see them both question their worthiness as well as shed some of their insecurities. I loved it. Not because they doubted themselves, but because the author was able to show how anyone can be insecure about measuring up when they love someone. In addition, those same people can give you strength and faith in yourself when you need it most. Carey perfectly portrayed their emotions.

What I loved most about Abby and Spencer's story was the easiness of their friendship and their organic progression to lovers. Their need for each other was palpable. I could sense it almost instantly, but Carey kept us on the edge waiting for the moment when they would finally give in. Thank you Sam for the assist! Also, there were many opportunities for Carey to create obstacles or misunderstandings in order to drum up drama, but she refrained from leading these characters down an angst-filled road. I so appreciated it.

This is the first book I’ve read by Carey Heywood and although it’s the third book in the series it can be read as a standalone. I absolutely loved this book, I couldn’t get enough of the characters and have now downloaded book 1 and 2 to read as I want to know about other family members stories of how they got together too. This book follow the story of Abby Thompson. She’s had an interesting life, he love life is a disaster, she has a job as a Realter which she loves, everyone around her is falling in love except her and to make matters even worse a sink hole appears and she becomes homeless. Spencer Hill returns home after years away, he’s your typical nerd, he’s into science, he wasn’t very popular at school. It’s Abby’s job help Spencer find a house, he’s currently living in the basement of his parents house and that isn’t working out too well. Abby remembers Spencer from school as the nerd but can’t believe it when she meets with him, he’s filled out, he’s tall, his handsome, he’s got a rocking body and his one HOT Professor. If Abby is honest with herself she always had the hots for Spencer but when she see’s him now she is totally smitten. Spencer also found Abby to be cute, when they were kids he spent a lot of time at Abby’s house tutoring her brother. What happens when these two spend time together???? Will sparks fly???? Will Abby be able to find him the house of his dreams???? The characters in this book was very believable and I absolutely loved it. I can’t wait to go back to book 1….

Fix My Fall is one of those gooey romances that leave you feeling like you're on cloud 9. Add in the humor and you have a definite five star book! The characters and the whole story just add so much humor and sweetness. I fell in love with both Abby and Spencer quickly. Both met in high school, one was an uber nerd the other a popular girl. Years later Spencer returns home and hires Abby as his realtor. He's always had a crush on her and soon they start dating.

I loved the build up between these two. They dated and had so much fun yet waited to make sure their feelings were on the same page before taking the dive into sex. It made it that much more sweeter. Abby has a few insecure moments but gets pass them pretty quickly. Spencer is good for her, and she good for him. She's fun loving, he's reserved. Perfect match.

Fix My Fall will be added to my re-read shelf. I have a feeling I'll come back to Abby and Spencer many times. Carey Heywood put just the right amount of romance and humor inside this book and I was very sorry to see it end. I hadn't read the others in this series but plan on doing that as soon as possible. The entire Thompson gang are a hilarious and tight knit group that makes me want to know them all. I'm excited to read the couple's I've missed out on, and I'm more excited to see where the next in the series will take us. Abby and Spencer were incredibly sweet and I'm glad I got to meet them!

I thought Fix my fall was such a good read I've been looking forward to Abby's story since she was introduced in the fist book of the fix series and was not disappointed , if you haven't read the first two stories in this series don't worry this can be read as a standalone but I highly recommend that you one click along with this one . I find heroes that are adorably awkward but can turn on the alpha sexy plus if they have glasses ( me drooling while looking at the cover ) it's so unique and refreshing . Abby was a very likable heroine she's funny and kind love the relationship she has with her family and best friend . I really liked seeing how past couples are doing and I can't wait to see who is next I'm looking forward to that last two brothers . This was a sweet slow burn with no drama so if you are looking for something to make you swoon and melt without breaking your heart then Fix my fall is just what you need .

This is Book 3 in the Fix Series and Abby’s Book. And if you’ve read the first two then you know what Abby has to deal with with her family especially her brother’s. But they are always are there for her when she needs them. Like when she has an issue with her home and has to move out. Then Spencer comes along again. He was a grade ahead of her in high school and tutored her younger brother. Spencer always felt invisible in high school and always considered himself a nerd. Well he looks a lot different now but Abby and her family was always nice to Spencer and he always had a crush on her. Well Abby thinks he’s hot now and as they become closer as friends could it become more? I absolutely love this series and this family!!! They show what families are supposed to be like and how they should be like! And I love how it has the good with the bad, the sad with the happy, the funny with the embarrassing it’s all real. And Carey makes you fall into these moments like you are apart of them and when you get finished with the book you have to look around and try to focus on where you are because you have been in her world and have to come back to yours. If you are also like me you will stay in her world until you finish the book. Yes I finished it in one day. I highly highly recommend this book actually this entire series so far and I can’t wait for the next one to come out!!!! - By Tina

Fix My Fall by Carey Heywood is a book that’s somewhat hard for me to categorise. I’ve settled on part sweet romance / part subdued romance.

Abby Thompson is a realtor; a homeless one thanks to a sinkhole in her backyard. She crosses paths with Spencer Hill when he hires her to find him a home upon his return to his hometown. Spencer has been crushing on Abby since high school but she was out of his league in many ways so nothing ever came of it.

Abby remembers Spencer, but high school Spencer is nothing like the attractive, built Spencer standing in front of her today. As time passes, Spencer and Abby get to know each other and become a couple. In a change from their high school days it’s Abby who is feeling unsure and somewhat unworthy of Spencer. To his credit he never makes Abby feel this way. In fact, Spencer could easily be the poster-boy for the perfect boyfriend; he’s attentive, he communicates well, he takes interest in Abby’s hobbies and he pleases her physically.

The book takes place over a year and plenty happens in this time but I felt the book lacked intensity at crucial parts. Most characters, including Spencer and Abby, were very composed. Any hiccups in life and love were handled with an equanimity that I found difficult to relate to. Some of my favourite characters were Nadine, Duncan and Spencer’s mum for the fact they brought some added colour to the story.

Fix My Fall is book 3 in The Fix series.
