I had a crush on my best friend’s older brother even before he joined the SEALs and became a hometown hero. I didn’t fall in love with him until I started sending him care packages and exchanging letters. The bond we’ve built over the past two years made me believe he was my soulmate.

But then the man I thought I was writing just returned from overseas with no recollection of our letters. Plus he’s brought home a fiancee!

Enter Ethan Fox, tough guy, loner, war hero. Liar.

He says he fell in love with me through our letters, but how am I supposed to trust the man who’s been lying to me for years?

A little bit cringe, a little bit cheese, a lot instalove but a good time overall.

These books are pure fantasy. A town filled with single men with six packs who all go for curvy quirky girls. 😂. This was light and fluffy with very little angst and also not much else. It’s a short story between longer reads or while in a book slump.

Don’t think too hard and enjoy the brain candy.

Could've been a lot better! Could've been a lot deeper even for a novella!
(The letters exchanged between MCs are so juvenile. I don't think a sappy highschooler in love would come up with them)

Super cute but was too short and felt rushed (it is a novella....but still).

She thinks she's writing back and forth with her.....brothers beat friend tommy, but it turns out it's some random ass stranger named Ethan black 😂 of course hes hot. 👀

She finds out he lied when she goes up to tommy who came back to town to her bakery to get a wedding cake with his fiance. 🙈🤦🤦 and Ethan's been HURT and INJURED and couldn't get to her til he recovered.

He stalks her to her beach house and she freaks when she sees him. He tells her they're getting married and he loves her. 😂😂😂🤷🤷🤷 it do what it do okur

Then they live happily ever after! Da end!

1.5 estrellas.

This book is also known as Keeping Kelsie.
Kelsie owns Sugar Bakers with her besties Caroline and Gracie in Saddle Creek. Omg, every time they talked about cookies and cakes and such, it made me hungry! Lol. Kelsie has been writing her friend Leah’s brother Tommy while he was away in the Navy, but he is home now and is engaged to be married. However, she hasn’t been writing Tommy, but one of the other SEALS as she kept sending care packages. LOOONG story, but with this, she realized that the person who is her pen pal has been lying to her so she freaks. Kelsie has two older brothers- Henry & Oliver, and a younger sister, Addison and then the baby of the family, another boy, Payton. The interactions between them and Kelsie just shows that they love each other but they are abso nuts like her friends. Lol. I really enjoyed the book and I can’t wait to learn more in the next one. Ethan is the SEAL that she has been writing to and freaks out because he thought he would have a bit of time - time enough to tell Kelsie everything before Tommy got home. But boy was he wrong! I laughed so hard every time one of her friends or family spoke up. They are fun nuts. I mean wow. I had to run for the bathroom at least twice while reading because it made me laugh so hard.

My reviews always contain spoilers, I write them so I can remember the story.

Kelsie has a crush on her friend’s older Tommy, when he enlists in the military she sends him a care package. In it are cookies and a nice letter. Tommy doesn’t reply to the letter, in fact he tells Ethan a fellow SEAL that she’s just a kid who’s his younger sister’s friend. Ethan is mad that Tommy would dismiss someone who was nice enough to send cookies and a nice note. He responds to the letter but does not sign it. Kelsie thinks Tommy responded and continues to write him for two years. (Small plot hole, how does Ethan get letters from Kelsie in the beginning? He tells her to send packages later to Attn: SEALs, but they send letters before that. They switch to email correspondence later.)
They both fall in love with each other through their words.
Imagine Kelsie’s shock when Tommy returns home and has a fiancé with him. Tommy has come to her bakery to ask them to make his wedding cake and he has no idea what Kelsie is talking about. Anger, embarrassed, and hurt she sends an email to Ethan telling him she knows he’s not Tommy and she never wants to hear from him again. He sends her an email explaining and apologizing. He also introduces himself and sends a picture. Her besties and co-bakery owners urge her to look at his photo and read his email. She relents and not really moved, she’s still mad he deceived her. (Tommy does look into who she has been corresponding with and finds out it’s Ethan, he tells her he is a good man.)
He comes to Saddle Creek for her and instead of going directly to her he sort of stalks her, follows her around and then follows her to her family beach house when she goes away for the weekend. He finally introduces himself to her and after a bit of back and forth she agrees to listen to his explanation. After hearing it and feeling a real connection to him she forgives him and they have their first time together. He makes it clear from the start that he’s all in and wants to marry her and loves her. She can feel his love and when they return to Saddle Creek, they move in together. A few months later he proposes and bonus downloadable epilogue ten years later still madly in love, with kids, and Kelsie pregnant again.

Kelsie thought she had been having a relationship with her friend's brother through their letters all this time. But when Tommy comes into her bakery, home from the military, with a fiancée, and he doesn't even recognize her, she knows she's been deceived. Just who has she been writing to, sending care packages to, and falling in love with, this whole time?

Ethan didn't have the heart to correct Kelsie's assumption she was writing to his fellow SEAL. When she kept sending letters and care packages to him, he spent the time falling in love with her, hoping once he got out he could explain and she wouldn't hold it against him. But now he's in her small town *cough* stalking her, trying to work up enough nerve to approach her and explain who he is. Will she forgive him and let him love her?

This is a short, sweet bit of insta-love fluff. High on spice, but short on enough development of their relationship for my tastes. I do like both Ethan and Kelsie, though, but just wish this novella spent more time on developing their relationship before rushing into claims of love and marriage.

WOW!! Fab*u*lous Absolutely love this one!! I couldn't put this one down. This was a nice quick, short read.

Ethan and Kelsie official met when he follows her to her families beach house. Kelsie is writing to her best friends brother, Tommy how joined the Navy. Kelsie sends Tommy a letter and a care package with cookies. When Tommy comes back to Saddle Creek he goes to Kelsie's bakery, when she sees him he has an another woman on his arm. Kelsie goes to him but he doesn't know who she is. So Kelsie sends an email to the address she's been writing to, when Ethan receives the email he knows he has to tells her. Ethan sends an email to Kelsie telling her why he's been writing to her. Kelsie doesn't want to read the email, so her business partners do. When it's time for Tommy's wedding her business partners tell Kelsie that she doesn't have to be there, so she heads to her families beach house. Ethan follows Kelsie since he heard she was going to head out of town. Ethan thinks this is the perfect opportunity to get Kelsie to believe him. It starts to rain and Eithan didn't the beach house would be away from everyone. Ethan is sitting on the porch when he heard glass break then Kelsie scream. Ethan goes in through the door and finds Kelsie holding a lamp above her head. Ethan tells Kelsie who he is, after she calms down he tells her he'll fix the broken window while she gets dressed. When Kelsie comes out she notices Ethan over the sink with blood she finds out he opened one of his wounds. Kelsie fixes him up then he asks her if they can sit and talk. Ethan explains to her that he didn't come right away because he was injured, had multiple surgeries and was doing PT. Kelsie finally believes Ethan, then kisses him. Ethan takes Kelsie and they head to her bedroom. Ethan pleasures her, then they make love. Kelsie is woken up by someone calling her name, her brother barges in the door. Kelsie tells her brother to go to the living room so they can dress. When Kelsie comes out she tells her family is is fine, then Ethan takes a picture of them and sends it to her family. A few months later, it's date night and when Ethan comes he has a surprise for Kelsie. Ethan hands Kelsie a piece of paper, he's been working with Dane Whitmore Redeem My Heart, and the rescue dogs. Ethan found them the perfect dog. Ethan notices the table and asks Kelsie what's all this, she tells him she thought they could write down their bucket list for each other. When they exchanged their bucket list, all Ethan has written on his is to marry Kelsie. When Kelsie looks at him he's down on one knee and asks her to marry him, she tells him yes.

Gonna be honest, prior to this book I read a 5 star, chef’s kiss, toes curling slow burn epistolary romance and kinda went into a manic episode trying to find similar books. My first warning should’ve been how short the book is, I love me some slow burn and usually that’s done with 200 pages AT LEAST, so when it said that this was only a hundred-something I should have stopped there. I didn’t, which is why I’m writing this review.
First of all the MC’s friends are so bad that I just wanted to punch them through my phone. How are you THAT horny and THAT irresponsabile about someone else’s life? Like..your friend was just catfished for two fucking years by A MAN (sorry that’s probably irrelevant to some people but I have little to no respect for men so) and suggest she forgives him just cause he sent a pic and he’s hot? Ted Bundy would’ve loved you.
Then we have the MC (I don’t remember her name, wasn’t really relevant tbh which is saying a lot since she’s the main character) which I was kinda ok with at the beginning since she was standing her ground about no5 forgiving him with her dumb friends, but then as soon as he FOLLOWED HER to a house and introduced himself AT NIGHT when she was all alone she was a goner. The lack of self respect was embarrassing as a woman and as a human being. Buy a fucking vibrator if you’re so horny you become dumb.
About the MMC I don’t..don’t even know what to say. Love bombing and immaturity all around. I know it shouldn’t be love bombing since they kinda knew each other, but sending love letters for two years pretending you’re someone else is not really knowing someone. So he came a bit too strong with all the ‘I wanna spend the rest of my life with you I love you’ crap. But he’s a man, so no surprises here.
When she read her friend’s text while cleaning him up I just DNF’d cause I was so done.
Such a bad book I really hope it was not printed but only ebook and pdf published because it would be a shame to ruin good paper.
It doesn’t take a lot for me to like a book honestly, I don’t read pride and prejudice whilst I drink tea with my aristocratic friends, but damn this book was SO bad that I had to write this review on my birthday cause I was that mad I lost a few minutes on my life on this. I read one direction fan fictions better than this when I was SIXTEEN, written by people younger than me.
I hope a novella (or a short book in general) makes me change my mind about how it’s hard to make a good story in a few pages, but this wasn’t it.

Kat Baxter is always a one click for me so I was beyond thrilled to get an early sneak peek at this one.
This offering had so many things that I just loved. IT HAD ALL THE AMAZING THINGS!!!!! Once again we’re back in our favourite place, Saddle Creek! I’ve said it before & I’ll say it again, I just love this whole world Ms Baxter has created.
Kelsie has had a crush on her best friends brother for years & thought her chance had finally arrived when they became pen pals while he was away serving his country & they fell in love through their letters. The bond they built over their years writing had her feeling that this was real, true love between them, he was her soulmate. Imagine her surprise (& heartbreak) when Tommy finally comes home with no recollection of their relationship … & a fiancée in tow!
Enter Ethan, the man who’s really been writing to her all this time & has fallen in love with her through their letters. Can Kelsie trust the man who’s been lying to her … you’ll just had to read for yourself to find out!
Kelsie was everything Kat Baxter does best, sweet & tender, a dash of the ridiculously (& often unintentionally) hilarious but with backbone of steel & a pinch of sass.
Ethan has this huge heart that he isn’t afraid to share with Kelsie.
Kat Baxter knows how to write these men you just fall in love with. Ethan is so unapologetically in love with Kelsie & as you’re reading you can’t help but root for him, even though he was deceptive towards her for 2 years.
I loved Kelsie’s friends, they had me laughing out loud so much!
Also, F Tommy, there, I said it! F THAT GUY! I did not like him from his first interaction with Kelsie & also from what we’ve heard from Ethan.
Some little nods to characters past & hopefully some characters whose stories we will get soon (Gracie & Henry for the win)
This was another swoon worthy, steamy little morsel from Kat Baxter.

Kelsie has been writing with Tom, older brother of a friend of hers and a navy seal, for the last two years. At least that is what she thought. In the e-mails he claimed to be in love with her and then he comes to her bakery, which she operates with two friends, together with his fiancé to order a wedding cake. Seems she has been in contact with Ethan, also a navy seal and responding to the first letter she wrote to Tommy, because he was not going to. When she writes Ethan an e-mail about what happened he seems honest when answering her, giving his real name and a photo. Kelsie can not handle deceive and only reads his e-mail because her friends push her to do it. Ethan says he is leaving and coming to her in person. She is not willing to read another e-mail, maybe give him a chance when he shows up. Three month later Tom told her Ethan is a good guy and that he quit, but he never showed up. Kelsie needs some time alone and is heading out to a beach house, when a storm is about to approach. Ethan was hurt on his last mission and not able to get to Kelsie as fats as he would have liked. Will they still have a chance and connect in real life?
Great written story and characters. Throughout the story we get to read some of their former correspondence. The story is funny, steamy and romantic. Insta love with a family who tends to be a little nut. Love Saddle Creek.

What started out sending a,care package to a friends brother who was deployed turned into a daily email from another soldier. Kelsie started baking and sending baked goods to Tommy or so she thought. Actually the first box got to him but the letter she wrote to Tommy was answered by Ethan another soldier. The two of them wrote back and forth.
Kelsie saw Tommy at her job and started talking to him about how she cared for him and couldn't believe he showed up at her job with his fiance. Shocked and upset, she sent an email to whomever she was writing to. Ethan tried explaining but she refused to read or even care. Finally she did read the one. Still upset she did he was coming to meet her. Three months past and nothing. He emailed but she refused to read them. Needing to get away she decided to go to her families beach house.
Ethan was in town and followed her to her beach house. Storm was brewing, Ethan was on her porch when he heard her screaming. He runs into the house, scaring her because she didn't know he was there. He explained that he wants to explain why he wasn't able to see her months ago. Kelsie was surprised and thrilled at the same time.
Things worked out and what started out with a care package to one person ended up where Kelsie and Ethan end up together forever.

Love at First Write is a captivating romance novel that has truly captured my heart. From the moment I started reading, I was transported into a world where love and words intertwine to create a beautiful story that resonated with me on a deep level.

The characters in this book are so well-developed and relatable, each with their own unique personalities and struggles that drew me in and made me root for their love story. The chemistry between the main characters is palpable, and their journey towards love is both heartwarming and engaging.

What I loved most about Love at First Write is Kat Baxter's storytelling prowess. The way she weaves together romance, drama, and humor kept me turning the pages eagerly, wanting to know what would happen next. The pacing of the story was perfect, never dragging or rushing, but keeping me invested in the characters' lives.

In conclusion, Love at First Write is a delightful read that left me with a warm feeling in my heart and a smile on my face. Kat Baxter has crafted a truly enchanting tale that reminds us of the beauty of love and the power of words. I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a feel-good romance novel that will sweep them off their feet.

Super sweet SEAL love story. Oh, my. Kelsie has been emailing a SEAL for a couple of years and falling in love with him. He's told her that he's in love with her too. The only problem is that she thinks he's the brother of a friend of hers who she sent a box of cookies to way back. But HE didn't reply, one of the other SEALs replied but didn't let on he was a different SEAL. Oops. To be fair, he never signed the emails with the original guy's name, but really... Not cool, dude.

Kelsie owns a bakery with two friends who are hilarious (but not the sister of the SEAL). I loved the old emails interspersed within the story.

She has a seriously-not-meet-cute with her friend's brother when he returns to their home town with a fiancée and has no idea who she is. They get that figured out but she is still angry and hurt and doesn't know if she wants to trust Ethan, the actual SEAL she has been writing to.

Some pretty funny things happen & they of course finally get together. Steam level is just right. Ethan's happy to join a family since he's never had a real family of his own. Oh yeah, some cool dogs are peripherally involved, too. What more could you ask for?

This book was ridiculously funny! Kelsie started emailing her friend’s older brother, Tommy, because she had a crush on him. Then he started writing back. Before you know it 2 years have gone by and she’s still emailing Tom, only to find out that it was not Tom that she was emailing. Apparently one of his SEAL friends started writing/emailing her and never told her who he was. Ethan meant to tell Kelsie that he wasn’t Tim but he just never did.
Ethan tries to apologize but once Kelsie is deceived, she is pretty much done. A few months later, Ethan is still emailing her but she isn’t reading them. The first chance he gets though, he goes to Saddle Creek to find her. He knows everything about her and loves her and her curves. Kelsie has no idea that Ethan is keeping tabs on her.
I truly enjoyed reading this book! Kat Baxter writes an incredible book and I instantly fell in love with Ethan and Kelsie. Their story is fantastic! If you know Kat Baxter then you’ll know what I mean when I say that to read her books are to love her books! If you haven’t read Kat Baxter then you are definitely missing out!

Love at First Write is part of the Seal Team Alpha series... and OMG...it is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!!! It's a short and steamy pen pal, instalove, OTT, curvy girl gets her Seal romance. Kelsie is a sassy, curvy baker. Ethan is a hunky Seal currently deployed. Kelsie has been writing letters for two years to who she thought was her friend's older brother, only to find out she was writing to Ethan instead. They fell in love via letter only for Kelsie to be devastated when she realized she was lied to. But Ethan is determined to win her over as he never lied about anything but the name... this book had so many funny moments. Her family chats and chats with Gracie and Caroline made me snort and laugh out loud multiple times..and the chemistry was seriously hot enough to melt my Kindle 🔥🥵🔥. I loved their letters and seriously fell in love with Ethan. He's been moved to the top of my book boyfriend list🧡😍🩷. I loved everything about this book. It had all the feels with tons of steam and an amazing HEA. Kat does it again!!.

Kelsie (h) sends care packages, letters, and emails with a SEAL, whom she believes to be her best friend’s older brother and her crush, Tommy, but she finds out in an embarrassing, public way that it isn’t Tommy she’s been sharing s with herself with. One scathing email later, and Kelsie realizes that she’s been communicating with Ethan (H) for two years, developing a strong emotional connection that she now questions. She’s emotionally hurt and stops communicating with him, no matter how attractive his picture may be nor how much he tells her he’s not giving up on her. Loved that Ethan fell for his curvy girl with no idea about what she looked like, and that he was sweet enough to respond to her initial letter to Tommy, who couldn’t even be bothered to reply to Kelsie’s care package. Kelsie ended up with a far better man in Ethan than what she imagined Tommy to be, and he ended up with the family he needed. Sweet and steamy romantic quickie with some funny moments, a little bit of angst, and a found family.

Kelsie has had a crush on her best friend's brother, and when he enlists she starts sending him cookies and writing to him. Over the years they confess their love to each other. He returns to their hometown...with a fiancé in tow and she is sooo embarrassed assed. Turns out that someone else has been writing to her, Ethan! Ethan had planned to confess all to her but she finds out before he can and she's so annoyed and frustrated and decides she doesn't want to hear from him anymore. It takes him a while to get to her because he was in the hospital/physical therapy. Then he has to try and win her over!

As always, Kat's books are wonderful! I loved sassy Kelsie, her hilarious friends (are they going to get stories too, please?), Ethan, and how the story panned out. Such an adorable, sexy book. It's short but as all of Kat's books, have just the right amount of plot and character build up that I enjoyed so much!.

Kelsie thought she was baking cookies and corresponding with her best friend’s brother that she had a crush on while is was overseas as a SEAL. She and her “crush” begin communicating by email and realizing they have a lot in common. Her “crush” returns home with his fiancé and had no clue who Kelsie is not has had any correspondence with her. She is devastated and sends a message back to the SEAL stating she knows the truth. Ethan found her first letter at the bottom of the box with the cookies she sent. He felt that Kelsie’s letter should be answered and that was how the correct started. Now, Ethan feels that she may be the girl of his dreams and needs to meet her in person to clear the confusion. He stalks her to find time to speak to her alone when a storm strikes. Read the book to find out what happens. If you love curvy girls, hot Navy SEAL and an instalove romance, this is a great book to read. Found myself swooning over Ethan!.

Love at First Write is the Seal Team Alpha Keeping Kelsie!
A short fun read with a sweet baker with a crush and a hot alpha navy seal.
Kelsie has had a crush on her friends' older brother Tom since she can remember. When he enlisted and went away to become a Navy Seal, she sent him care packages much to her surprise he began to write her. She couldn't believe how much they had in common and how interested he was. Until the day he arrives back in their hometown with a fiancé and no recollection of their loving emails.
Ethan knows that he should have come clean sooner with Kelsie, but he didn't want their connection to end. The day he saw the care package from Tom's hometown he had a few things out of it and then when he saw the letter at the bottom that Tom had no interest in, he took it and started writing. The connection grew into so much more and then the unthinkable happened, Kelsie found out. Now it is time to make amends to let her know that this was not a game to him. What a fun sweet sexy read!

Ethan and Kelsie. Tommy is her best friends brother. He is also a Seal overseas. She's always liked him but even more since communicating and sending care packages to him or has she???. Hes home now and doesn't know anything about any letters and has a fiancé and doesn't recognize her. Sooo she immediatlly sends an email to Ethan (Tommy) telling him she just ran into him and he doesnt remember any letters and whoever you are I never want to talk to you again. He emails her back explaining and apologizing and said asa hes out hes coming to see her. Well hes out and she hasnt seen him.
