Dear Captor,

Do you find pleasure in my tortured screams?
My darkened cell is my own living nightmare.
Why do you continue to play this game? Why don’t you just kill me?
You’ve almost broken me all over again—but I’ve held firm. I’ve pushed through the pain you’ve inflicted. And now I’m seeing a side of you I never knew could exist. A side I connect with. A side I could grow to like.
Your touch on my skin . . . it ignites a fire within.
Only time will tell what will come of it.

With love,
Elenore.

descriptionCover revel coming soon(?). I'll save my thoughts until then.description

descriptionBook two picks up right where the author left us at the end of book one. Elenore is still being held captive and vowing to stay alive. Captor is struggling though. Elinore should already be dead like all the previous girls but there is just something about her that calls to him, and he can't seem to end her life much to his annoyance.

description

This was another great installment. We get some twists and turns. Secrets are revealed, and more are hinted at. Elinore is a fighter that is for sure. But just maybe there is also some darkness lurking beneath. We get a bit of a look at her backstory through journal entries that give us a glimpse into her younger years. Which added more depth to the story. I am still holding on to my theory of who Captor is. I am hoping this one was full of red herrings because if not then it was pretty obvious who he is and that would be a bit disappointing. The ending throws us a bit of a curveball and left me wanting the next (and final) book in this trilogy ASAP. I am really enjoying this story so far so this one gets a solid two thumbs up from yours truly.description

With Love, the second opus of the psychological thriller trilogy Letters In Blood, starts right where it ended in Dear Captor.

The mystery is in full play, it played and messed with my mind, making me doubt, my head spinning with the different hypothesis coming and going.

Told from three point of view, Elenore's, the captor' s and Roman's the story progresses, always more gruesome as revelations upon revelations are unveiled letting the parts of the bigger picture little by little appear.

We don't know much more about the captor's past but his character is well developed and being in his head, seeing his struggling as wether he should kill Elenore or not, and why, the evolution of his feelings was very interesting.

Roman is still investigating, exploring and digging the horror that was Elenore's past.

Elenore is stronger than ever, she resists,  fights, survives, but unfortunately I couldn't wrap my mind around the fact that she could want her captor. As a ruse? Stockholm syndrom? Hmmm...

A good mystery at this point, in spite of some issues that  brought a damper on an otherwise intriguing and intricate plot, I cant wait to read the third installment next month and eventually to see who the captor is and how the pieces of this puzzle fall into place!

With Love will have you guessing and wondering what will happen next

With Love starts off right where Dear Captor had stopped. This is a short read and I wasn't ready for it to end. It will have you trying to figure out the pieces to the puzzle and there are things you did not see coming. The suspense in this book was killing me in a good way.

As I sat there trying to figure out who the captor could be I also was falling for him and rooting for him, yes, I know I have issues, but that is besides the point.

Elenore is a fighter and she is every bit a fighter in this book as well.

I must say, I liked this book more than the first one and I can not wait for the third book to come out!!

Make sure you read Dear Captor first as this is a continuation of the Letters in Blood series.

Dear Captor ends in a cliffhanger and this starts where the previous book ends. As I got more into this story I couldn’t put it down. I needed to know what was going to happen next.

This is one of those books that’s hard to review as I don’t wanna spoil it for anyone.
It has a fabulous storyline with gripping twists and turns. I’m so looking forward to reading more of this story.

You know how every now and again you get a series and you want to shout out to the world about how awesome it is - Liz Lovelock's series Letters in Blood is that series for me lately. If you love Edgy and Dark Fiction with Mystery elements and lots of twists, then you will fit right at home with her Letters in Blood series. Book #2 started from the cliffhanger that we had in Book #1 and Eleanore is still alive and fighting for her life with the serial killer. As we know, Eleanore is a fighter, and I think she will survive and prove that she is one tough cookie. OMG the twist when Eleanore's identity is revealed, I was like AAAH and then when they are pointed towards Eleanore's old house and the dirty secret in the basement. I have an idea what will be down there but damn that Liz Lovelock who left us hanging on another major cliffhanger. I cannot wait for Book #3, so I can finish this series as it is seriously one of the best dark suspense I have read for 2017. As you turn each page, it leaves you wanting more and will have you screaming as the books just aren't long enough, it's like you are hooked and then that book is over, and you have to wait on your seat's edge for the next book to be released.

And the twists get even more twisted in book 2 of the Letters in Blood trilogy. Definitely one hell of an emotional roller-coaster. With Love has left me speechless and with a thickness in my throat that's hard to swallow. Not to mention how bad my nails are right now with the constant anxiety especially with that ending. The more I read this trilogy, the more I love Eleanor's character. She's even tougher and will do whatever it takes to survive.

In this book secrets start to arise as the investigation and the search for Eleanor continues. So many twists and turns not only in the present, but even more from the past. As we get flashes of what Eleanor's childhood was like it's hard not to get little cracks in the heart as she pulls at your heartstrings. So much that she's already suffered and now she's in a different but equally as dark hell hole. But no matter what her Captor throws at her, she still stands strong and will fight with all she's got.

Hate for this man gives me the strength I need to get me through to the next day and the day after that. I’ll never give up.

“Do your worst. Break me. I don’t care. You’re the weak one, not me.”

You must read Dear Captor before reading With Love. It's a short read that really packs a punch. Love how this story was written not only dual POV but the POV of three main characters. Can't wait to see how Eleanor's story concludes in Forever Yours, the last book in The Letters in Blood trilogy.

This story picks up right where left off and it didn’t disappoint me at all. This story had me captivated from the beginning and I couldn’t put it down until the very last page. The writing, the pacing, everything about this book was just perfect. Novella’s are usually hit or miss for me and this short story packed a powerful punch! In this installment we are given more pieces to the puzzles and I had all of these theories when I read the first part and now the author has me second guessing myself as I continued to read. This book has so much suspense and mystery and I couldn’t help but try and rack my brain and figure out who the Captor could possibly be. Every time I thought I had it figured out the author would throw another curveball and it’s back to square one. We also had some secret revelations in this story which ties into certain aspects of the story as well. I really enjoyed this book better than the first one and I can’t wait to see how everything concludes in the next story!

This is not a separate, individual book but actually a continuation of the first book and the start of the third. This is one of those instances where the author either divided one large book into the three in hopes of making more money or because the 1 book was so long that she didn’t want to deter people from reading/buying it. Whatever Lovelock’s reasoning was, this is not complete, “book”. Regardless of that, this portion was extremely exciting! Unlike the first installment, this one is action-packed, filled with dark, disturbing, depraved material! I absolutely loved every word of it! I am totally consumed by the story and can’t wait to find out what happens to Elenore!!

Shocking and compelling...

..and so the rabbit hole becomes deeper, and more tortuous.... this is such a dark, menacing and fascinating series... I am not sure I could in fairness describe it as enjoyable but it is most certainly compelling..

This second in the series follows immediately on from the dramatic cliffhanger ending of the first book...once again there are three perspectives providing the narrative... Elinore is growing stronger, her resilience is astonishing considering her dire situation, then there is Roman who continues to work tirelessly to save her and last but not least is a window into the conflicted mind of the captor... these three individuals continue to develop and in so doing reveal more of their true characters as the story progresses...

This is not a book for the fainthearted....there is no let up for Elinore and her sufferings....her life continues to hang in the balance and just when there is the faintest flicker of hope once again all appears lost with another shocking cliffhanger ending ...I received an ARC of this book from the author.

I was so lucky to meet Liz at the Riveting Reads Author signing in Brisbane, and extra lucky to get paperbacks before the rest of the series was released! Once I finished Dear Captor, I was hooked. I couldn't stop reading. Make sure you do read Dear Captor first because then none of this will make sense. And trust me, you NEED this to make sense so you experience the same spine-chillingly shoot of adrenaline the same way I did. These are one of those books that cannot be properly reviewed because even the tiniest mention of the plot, spoils the entire series. It's one of those books where you have to read it for yourself to understand.

I'm so used to Liz Lovelock and her angsty reads, but she is demolishing any and all expectations with this dark romance. She is rocking at this genre. But once again, while there is a lack of emotional connection and development between the characters, the story flowed well and the suspense became so strong, I was paralysed. This is a story unlike any other, and I won't be satisfied til I read the next one. This book ends on the WORST cliffhanger and I'd cuss the author out if she hadn't already provided me with the next book!

I will not rant. I will not rant. I will not rant.
Oh hell, fuck it.

This book series went like this :

"Dear Captor,
Even though you kidnapped me, hit me, cut me, starved me and shot me, I will manage to forgive and love you because......Vani (that's me btw, "Bookish Gusto") loves Joseph Morgan, choco lava cake and money.
Your Captive. "

What? Doesn't make sense? Well, this book doesn't either!!
I swear to God even SSA Aaron "I have an excellent poker face" Hotchner would be compelled to roll his eyes at these MC's.

Let me recount all the inconsistencies even though they'll boil my blood for hours. Again!

1) I get that Elenore was physically and mentally abused in her childhood and teen years and that will make her reactions differ in comparison to other captives.......but did all the other captives had to be just whimpering idiots who did nothing except cry, snivel and plead?!! How can we believe that!!

2) Elenore had no backbone. None. She let her boss railroad and belittle her every second of her life and said or did nothing. Nope..... can't expect her to stand up for herself unless she's being starved by a serial killer. Oh how silly of me, she didn't do that when starved either!!!

3) We are supposed to believe that Elenore developed love/stockholm/lust (I really don't know if either is appropriate for this situation) for her Captor by just one kiss. One kiss!! Did he have a custom made lust saliva or something?! Maybe had some work done on his lips? If so, I really need the guy's number. Pronto

4) Indulge me here a little. The captor turns from
*brandishing a knife* "Oh baby scream for me " to *on the side of the road with an old woman* "ma'am let me help you with your groceries" in what feels like seconds. Just because he fell in love with our "no-spine" heroine. His psychopathic tendencies vanish, people!! I'll be sure to give that cure to Ted Bundy when I figure out how to time travel.

I can't anymore. Bye.

This book has totally made me want to bang my fists on the nearest hard surface. I’ll tell you why. Cliffhanger. If you know me, you’ll know I really don’t like them, especially when I’ve really gotten into the story. Now, I’m more of a romance fan myself, because I happen to like happy endings and all the resultant mush and crazy sex involved. The kinkier the better, but not this book. This is about a woman who has had a pretty horrific childhood, and now she’s been taken by a man who has starved, tortured, and shot her.

But wait! There is a dashing detective named Roman who is doing everything he can to find her. And Elenore is still alive and kicking thanks to the fact that her captor is fighting an inner battle with himself. We find out a whole bunch of new information about Elenore’s history and the fact the our Captor may be someone familiar. I have a couple of theories about who he may be, but the last book is a month away. Grrrr.

Until then, I’ll just tell you that if you like suspense, this is one book series that will keep you riveted right from page one. Just be prepared to be totally annoyed if you don’t like cliffhangers. There’s a big one!

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review for Stephanie's Book Reports.

With Love is the second book in Liz Lovelock's Letters in Blood Series. You need to read Dear Captor before diving in to With Love.

With Love picks up exactly where With Love left off. We find Elenore still in the clutches of a madman trying to survive and Roman still searching for her. I will tell you that I thought I might have figured out who the Captor was but I'm wrong I know that I am now. Holy cow I did not see the ending coming at all so I was shocked and about fell off my couch. Everything you think you know is wrong. I don't see a possible way for anyone to ever figure out what is really going on in this book. However we do learn some new things about Elenore and about her Captor. There are so many twists and turns in this book and I loved every single mind bending second of it.

I so can not wait for Forever Yours coming in November. Thank goodness the wait for this book isn't to long for I want to know what in the world is going to happen now. Liz Lovelock has written two books now that keep you in their grip so tightly that you won't be able to put this book down until the very last word and are left wanting more.

Books made to be made into a movie! This series is turning into something that you just want to see on the big screen (if they don't mess with it like they do with all other books). It is perfect as it is and once you finish one you cannot wait to get your hands on the next one. This book, just as the first leaves you breathless and on edge with the fear that Eleanor is feeling. This storyline is not only dark but it is also intriguing as the police search for the missing Eleanor, stumble upon a couple of Eleanor's secrets. Ones that she tried to hide not only from anyone else, but to put to rest in the back of her mind.

Eleanor is making her way under the skin of her captor. Whether it's her letters to him or it's her will to fight for survival, she has piqued his interest and he finds it hard to do what he has always done with his women. She is still with him, still intriguing him and now he can feel something inside of himself stir and it confuses him. One kiss and he wants more, he desires to touch her pale skin, but the monster inside of him desires her screams. He is a war with himself, so he punishes her. And still she fights. He will not break her. But there is another dark figure who steps in and now Eleanor wishes her dark captor would return. This man has the ability to finally end her. Can she survive this new evil that has entered her cell, or will her captor return to find that someone else has done what he was not able to do?

This is one exciting, edge of your seat read that will mess with your mind just as the captor messes with Eleanor's. I highly recommend this amazing read!

WHAT THE HELL!!!!

Liz Lovelock's second installment in her Letters In Blood Series, With Love has left me speechless. I don't know what to say. The struggle is real people.

We know that Elenore has been taken.
Being held captive by a monster.
Reasons still unknown.
And it just got a whole lot of complicated.
What secrets does Elenore have?
Will her captor seek the truth?
Can Elenore break down her captors walls?
And their letters?
What will they reveal?
What will be shared?
Can Roman put the pieces together to save Elenore?
And what secrets are held within the walls of Elenore's home?
I am literally lost for words guys. I have so much love for this novel it's beyond ridiculous. Again Liz has delivered a dark, gritty, raw and confronting read that took my breath away. Mind manipulation at it's finest because as I sit here I am still trying to absorb everything I have just read.
Perfection.
And I want....No I need more.
Stay strong Elenore.

A HUGE 5 star read

With Love is the 2nd book in the series Letters in Blood by the amazing author Liz Lovelock.
What can I say about this incredible book & series without giving anything away.
We pick up the story from where Liz left us from book one & we continue on the journey of trying to figure out who the Captor is.
I have my own theories, but by the end of "With Love" I think my mind is way off base & Liz again has left us wanting more & so many more questions needing answers.
So until November & the release of the final book, do yourself a favour & go one click Dear Captor now if you haven't already because you're so going to want to one click "WITH LOVE" on release day October 18th
Congratulations Liz

The story continues straight from where Dear Captor finished. What will Captor do with Elenore? Will Roman get any closer to finding her? What secrets are Captor and Elenore hiding and who is the woman in Elenore's dreams?

Some of these are answered, with hints and a reveal towards the end that I had suspected for a while. I'm sure I was meant to as the author had implied it in both books. There was also suggested suspicion and doubt about a character in the book. Is he going to turn out to be Captor? I'd wondered about him in book 1 and now strong hints were dropped in this book, but are they red herrings?

It' difficult to review the book without spoiling the plot but I can say that the writing is excellent and in this book I felt we got to know Captor a lot more. Despite his actions I did start to feel a connection to him and begin to almost like him. The written exchanges between Elenore and Captor are so intense and are a wonderfully unique feature of this book. It also started to build a connection between them but Captor struggles with emotions. Will this be Elenore's saving or undoing?

The twists at the end - the diary one I'd expected but the other one, wow! I still have no idea where this story is heading and who will prove to be the hero (or anti-hero) of the book. We see a lot more of Roman this time, and strangely I felt as though his and Elenore's relationship was strengthening and deepening, even though they are apart.

Thank goodness the final book is out soon - I need to find out how this story ends. I also know that if it's anything like the first two books I will be gripped from start to finish.

Short story – book 2 in a trilogy.

So this is just a tad over 100 pages and it seemed much shorter…..not in a bad way at all, but it just had me hooked that I felt like it was over so fast.

We pick up where Dear Captor left off. There is definitely some mystery going on. We don’t know who Captor is, but I have a suspicion that we truly do. Unfortunately for me this had a bit of middle book syndrome. Nothing was resolved, but just more crumbs were revealed and so I don’t feel satisfied by this instalment. Turns out that Elanore has a deeper past than even she realizes. There are also more issues where her Captor is no longer able to carry out his plan….something about Elanore speaks to him and he is tortured by his feelings. At the very end another player comes into the mix and I’m not quite sure how he fits into the puzzle.

This story is fast paced….we learn a bit more about Elanore’s past and meet Dean who alludes to something that Roman can find at her old house. Again, this does end on a horrible cliffhanger and really leaves you hanging. You know the type, where you reach the end and want to throw your kindle against the wall!

Luckily all 3 books are releasing with only one month gaps so we don’t have long to wait for the rest of the story.

Holy hell, how can we be left hanging like this. There are so many questions to be answered and it has just kept me glued to the pages. I haven’t read many books where I can go, is it this person, is it him, oh no it could be that person so many guesses and i just want to know.

I love the way Liz Lovelock is writing this series we are getting every important point of view which I find exciting.

You have Eleanor’s who is so strong and is fighting against her captor and she will do anything to survive. She has been through hell once and she will try and make it though hell again.

Then you have the Captor, who we are learning so much about and i don’t know how she does it but i kind of feel sorry for him and know he is not a mean guy but then she can make you hate him all over again, he is sick in the head and I don’t like it but i think he has been through a lot as well and it makes me feel weird liking him.

Then there is Roman who is the detective trying to find Eleanor who we know he has feelings for her, but I love that we are getting what is happening between captor and Eleanor but then we are getting a run down and finding out all about Eleanor’s Secrets and lots of interesting and questionable things that have happened.

If you love a mystery, thriller, cliffhangers, and just page turning books then you need to read this series, you would be silly not too, even if its not your usual genre give it a go I don’t like these books usually but i am loving this.

A big 5 stars for this awesome read.

“My name is Eleanore.
My time came, and I was told to run.
So that’s what I did...
Nothing would stop me.
Well,except maybe one thing.
A bullet.”

A serial killer with a routine that is broken by her. One week, seven days to weaken his captive and make them sing a song of pain and despair. Then they run as if their lives depend on it because it does... yet Elenore is a woman with an inner strength. Her letter ignited his fascination and her words hold him rapt. Enticing him to feel something more than the desire to cause pain and the need for death, they begin a new dance of darkness, entwining themselves in the symphony of each other’s despair. Can she survive this?

Having survived hell once Elenore is determined to emerge from her latest version. Her journals from her violent childhood slowly reveal more of what she has already endured and just how far she’s willing to go to keep on breathing. Her loved ones are holding onto hope that she will be found alive. Yet the game has more players yet to be revealed. It’s sinister and alluring, twisted yet oh so tantalising. With love embraces the darkness and lets it roam free. Is she a girl with a black heart and who would judge her after all she has suffered? I can’t wait for the third in this series, I have so many questions and can’t wait to see what will happen next!

A five star with love read.

This is the second book in the series and book one, Dear Captor, needs to be read first.

Eleanor Burrows is being held captive by a serial killer and she has no idea how or why she is still alive. Her hope remains with Police Detective Roman Blackwood, whom she just began dating before she was grabbed.

Detective Roman Blackwood won't give up trying to find Eleanor but soon he discovers secrets that she kept and some that were kept from her that is about to open this case right up but he needs to find her first.

Can Eleanor break through to her captor and appeal to get free or is her nightmare about to get worse?

The mystery keeps getting deeper in this second book!! This is still a relatively dark book but I must say how much I admire Eleanor for fighting back in this book and not allowing her Captor to get the best of her. She challenges him and at the same time appeals to him through the letters they write.

Roman does not give up looking for Eleanor and soon discovers so much about her and her past. I was definitely shocked at what was discovered and it keeps you begging for the final book to see how everything comes together and what happens.

The end of the book presents another twist that I totally did not see coming and I was like - omg no!!!!

Such a great series! - By Rebecca

With Love, the second installment of the riveting trilogy Letters In Blood, seamlessly picks up right where it left off in Dear Captor. The suspense is palpable and my mind is constantly being toyed with, causing me to doubt and spin through numerous hypotheses. From the very first page, I am gripped by a sense of foreboding that only grows stronger as Elenore's, the captor's, and Roman's perspectives are revealed. Each new revelation brings a new layer of horror to the already twisted tale, keeping me on the edge of my seat and feverishly flipping through pages to uncover the truth. Despite still not knowing much about the captor's past, his character is expertly crafted and getting a glimpse into his thoughts and emotions adds an intriguing layer to the narrative. Roman's relentless pursuit for answers leads him down a dark and disturbing path as he uncovers even more shocking details about Elenore's past. Despite her enduring strength and determination to survive, I am left questioning Elenore's possible feelings for her captor. Is it a ploy? Stockholm Syndrome? These questions only add to the mystery and complexity of this gripping series.

With Love is the continuation of Dear Captor (book 1 of the Letters in blood series)
It's a raw and emotional story, filled with violence, secrets, abuse both past and present. It highlights Eleanor's strength to free herself from her captor and the lengths she's willing to go to to obtain her freedom, but it also has me wondering whether Eleanor is indeed falling for her captor...and he her.
Both come from similar backgrounds, both chose different paths...could they possibly save each other from there torment?
With Love will have you so immersed into the story, with its constant twists and new storylines opening up that you won't want to put it down.
I thought I had the answers to the questions left in Dear Captor, Liz Lovelock has blown all my ideas out the window...
With new secondary characters introduced, this story just gets better as secrets begin to unfold..but some secrets are best kept just that....a secret.
I can't wait for the next instalment

This story is a dark tale which contains violence and abuse which some might find offensive.

“Let the battle of wills commence. It will either end in her survival or death.”

Dear Liz Lovelock,

You’ve kept me waiting, but I am patient. I’ve been following you. Even stalking you. I’ve been playing the long game, and now I’ve been rewarded. Book Two.

He told her to run, and she did. She got further than the others, and he missed his shot.
You’ve made Elenor strong, and helped her hide her secrets, but Captor still has her. Now the battle of wills commences, “It will either end in her survival or death.”

You put her back in hell, making her relive her past. She’s fighting to survive, thinking about the people who are missing her, and are looking for her, finding out about her past, from the time before her parents moved next door to Suzie... wait ... what????? And who’s the new guy?

You’re not finished yet. And I’ll still be waiting.

All in good time.....

Sincerely,

Marns. 5 Stars.

With Love is filled with Twists n turns I never expected , it will leave you wanting more and eagerly awaiting the finale !!

Book two picks up from where the first book ended. Elanore is still captive and trying her hardest to stay alive. The captor is struggling to believe Elanore - is not like the other women he has captured, killed and tortured, Elanore's strength fascinates him . Confuses him until he is at a battle as to what to do.

But there is something about her that the Captor cant rap his head around she slowly weaves her way into more then his mind but touches parts of his soul he never deemed possible.

Many twists and turns at every page and a roller coaster ride of ifs, buts and who.. We are still non the wiser to whom this captor is - except for one brief moment she recalls something familiar -
A voice. However still unknown.

Through Romans persistence we find journals from Elanore's past, secrets that were meant to be left buried but have surfaced and even maybe secrets that were meant to be left hidden. A darkness within her - a past she would rather have seen forgotten .

The story is told from three pov. The captor ,Elanore and Roman, it gives us depth and definition into the characters minds, feelings and thoughts. It gives the characters substance, and for us readers to see deep within.

The author has done a great job of capturing the audience with the first two installments, we are still second guessing with no real clue to whom the baddy is. We are given a plot that is well detailed, dialogue that fills the pages with many deep and dark moments, and a story line that keeps you intrigued.

Intriguing, haunting, yet mysteriously fascinating.

Be still my heart it's beating a 100 miles a hour. This is the second installment of the Letters in Blood series and it picks up where it left off with a bullet! In this you continue to see the unwavering fight of Elenore as she forced to endure terrible atrocities. The letters are continuing between her and her capture which is throwing the capture off his game. This story is told from three perspectives that of Elenore,The Captor, and Roman. Roman has discovered some things in Elenore apartment that sheds light on all that she has been through. There are many twist and turns in this installment that will keep you on the edge of your seat begging for more answers. Just when I think I might know who the capture could be I second guess myself! Trust me when I say you don't want to miss this amazing story that would be a blockbuster movie! 5 stars to you Liz Lovelock you have outdone yourself can't wait for the next installment! ❤
