A torched car, a chilling crime scene, and a missing woman. The police storm into the life of college professor Emma Collier, thrusting her into a sinister web of darkness. The bullet holes on the passenger side tell a gruesome tale, hinting at the woman's tragic fate. But Emma soon unravels the terrifying truth—her fiancé, Jude White, led a treacherous double life that has made him a prime target for the relentless jaws of the FBI.
As the investigation escalates, Emma's world crumbles, consumed by a malevolent conspiracy. Jude's meticulously orchestrated crimes have left her standing alone, branded as his accomplice. The police, fueled by damning evidence, accuse her not only of complicity but of committing a heinous murder to conceal her tracks.
Jude's influence stretches across borders, his twisted machinations entangled in an international web of art fraud and flawless money laundering. For years, he remained untouchable, evading the relentless pursuit of the authorities. But with whispers of an impending terror strike echoing through the darkest corners of the underworld, it becomes evident that Jude was a vital cog in the imminent chaos. The clock ticks relentlessly, inching closer to an explosive revelation.
"THREE: Deception, Love, Betrayal" is a bone-chilling psychological thriller that grips you from the first page and refuses to let go. Comparable to the heart-pounding works of Dan Brown, this fast-paced mystery will unleash your imagination, leaving you questioning the loyalty and motives of everyone around you. Brace yourself for a sinister journey riddled with unexpected twists and a finale that will shatter your senses. Plunge into the depths of "THREE" today and unlock a world where darkness reigns supreme and trust is a deadly game.

- Reviewed in Australia on 29 September 2018I loved this story from page 1. The characters are engaging and true, as they story progresses I laughed, cried and it had me on the edge of my seat. Brilliant!
- Reviewed in Australia on 10 January 2018This is K.J McGillick’s debut book.
Art fraud, money laundering and identity theft feature in this story as Emma Collier discovers her live-in boyfriend Jude has disappeared and her own identity has been used to create a web of deceit.
Emma is a reactionary character in this book as things have already taken place without her knowledge and the book takes us on her journey of discovery about what really happened to Jude and why someone has been framing her.
I liked the characters of Emma and Cillian but I wish they were more relaxed, especially Emma. Often she comes across as robotic and overly formal, and when she does act, it seems out of character. The love interest between Emma and Cillian provides a good balance and I wish we knew more about them before they come together in this book.
Aunt Mary is very funny and brings a lightness and comedic relief to the book.
I enjoyed the plot and overall themes. You can tell much research has gone into the story but the flow does get bogged down at times due the volume of what I consider to be unnecessary detail and repetition.
Future books look intriguing and I am interested in reading them.

4.0 out of 5 stars AN ENJOYABLE, SUSPENSEFUL NOVEL
Verified PurchaseI greatly enjoyed this novel. I’ve not read this author’s work before. I bought the next 2 novels in this series, and am looking forward to reading them. The plot was interesting and spellbinding. The characters were well developed and empathetic. I particularly enjoyed Aunt Mary. She reminded me of Grandma Mazur in Janet Evanovitch’s Stephanie Plum series of novels.
This was a great debut novel.

5.0 out of 5 stars 3,2,1 boom! Couldn't look away
Verified PurchaseThis is an excellent read. I am not an expert, just a working mom who enjoys a good dramatic thriller from time to time. The is packed full of information about the art world and the law, but not in some boring way. I feel like I have some secret insight into a world I am not privy to.I've fallen in love with these characters, especially Mary and Eloise, I really want to get margaritas with these two, I was literally LOLing. I felt emotions like I was watching this unfold and as though I was friends with Emma for years. My heart ached for her as you see her struggle to maintain her strength and grace. I'm just going to say that I'm pretty sure I know Marino and I really dislike him.
I was left with a few questions, but I'm thinking that those will be answered in the books to follow.
The author ends the book with you yearning for more. I can't wait for TWO!!!
I am an official fan.

5.0 out of 5 stars great debut novel
Verified PurchaseWhat a freaking fantastic debut book. This is a series that I can't wait to read the rest of. She did an amazing job bringing the reader into the character's life. I can only imagine what I would do if I found myself in this situation. Gripping, suspenseful, and very interesting. I enjoyed the writing and the direction the author went with this story and I found myself cheering for Emma and then curious about Cillian FBI. Great debut and excited. Thank you for allowing me to read this and write about it.
