The Vampire Covenant Series: If you like paranormal romance books with hot vampires, powerful witches and sexy werewolves in them, then get a taste of The Vampire Covenant Series. This series is steamy, action packed, full of twists, with hot alphas and a kick@ss heroine.
In the Covenant Series you meet Kayci Pierce, who struggles with choices between love, loyalty, secrecy, betrayal, the life she's always known and the life she was born for. In book two of the Covenant Series, Kayci is pushed into a darker side of herself and is torn between two men. A soldier vampire named, Adrian or an alpha werewolf named, Cass. In book three, Kayci must make her choice between them. She's the leader of the Vampire Covenant. Untouchable. Already claimed by another. Cass is an alpha who wants more than she can give. He wants her...to be his. Her excruciating attraction to him could cost her everything. One man will fight to keep her love while the other will do whatever it takes to win it.
Embrace the Dawning (Book One, The Covenant Series)
Kayci Pierce possesses strength, endurance, and accelerated healing that set her apart from normal humans—traits she's never understood and kept hidden since childhood. She feels disconnected from the seemingly normal world around her—until she's attacked by a creature she didn't know exists and then rescued by a stranger she can't forget. Dreams of the attractive, dangerous man haunt her and lead her into a world she was born for.
Adrian Spade spends most of his solitary nights hunting rogue vampires for the Covenant, until an undeniable attraction leads him to reveal his vampire identity and risk his life by saving Kayci's. Tempted by her mysterious nature, Adrian finds himself drawn to Kayci and becomes her protector while she discovers her heritage and what it means to be a half-breed vampire sorceress.
Kayci's relationship with Adrian brings her as much passion as it does danger. Now with a vampire revolution beginning and a romantic connection to a full-blood vampire, Kayci must work with Adrian to survive surrounding threats. As Kayci tries to make sense of an unfamiliar world, she's forced to choose between the life she's always known and her vampire birthright.
Cruel Temptation (Book 2, The Covenant Series)
The war is over. The rogue vampires dispatched. As a full-blood vampire and sorceress, Kayci Pierce finally feels safe. Her focus now set on how to run the Covenant and best protect her species. The next-in-line, Lycan clan leader shares Kayci’s vision—but his captivating and sexy brother, Cassius McCabe is a distraction Kayci can't afford.
New threats surround Kayci as she navigates unfamiliar territory and feelings she can't hide. Will temptations destroy her and everything she's worked for, or will love be enough to pull her back from the edge?
Dark and Beautiful Nights (Book 3, The Covenant Series)
Devotion keeps Kayci longing for Adrian's return. Dark magic is the only way to free him and its cruel seduction has captured Kayci in its embrace. Cassius, unwilling to lose the one thing he's longed for—his mate, fights for Kayci's heart and saves her from her biggest threat…herself.
Pulled between unrestrainable desire for Cassius and her devotion to Adrian, leaves Kayci suffering from the worst battle she's ever encountered…the one for her heart.

Embrace the Dawning: This is the first book of the series but it managed to grab my attention and hold it right away. Kayci and Adrian's relationship is full of steam, revelations of old secrets, and discovery of who and what she really is. Adrian's protective nature makes it hard not to love him. Watching Kayci uncover new things about herself as the story progressed was highly entertaining and kept me wondering what would come next. This was a great kick off of the series and I can't wait to jump into the next.
Cruel Temptation: Book two started off just a few months after the events of book one and there was so much going on with Kayci, Adrian, and the Covenant. Kayci is trying to get used to her new life as a vampire sorceress and is happy to have Adrian at her side. But things quickly spin out of control with new supernatural creatures around. Especially alpha werewolf Cass. He draws out unexpected feelings in Kayci regardless of the love she feels for Adrian. Throw in a vendetta with a crazed vampire and this book is a must read for me. It was a story that had me flying through the pages and finishing in less than a day. The ending took me by surprise and I have to see what's coming next.
Dark and Beautiful Nights: After the events of book two, I started book 3 anxious, excited and on the fence. I loved both Adrian and Cass. I honestly wondered if there was any possible way she could have them both. But I had a feeling this wasn't that kind of book so I simply had to read and find out who would be chosen. And how I would feel about it.
So many twists, and just great story telling happened in this book. I loved seeing how relationships developed, not just for Kayci but those around her too. There was some sadness, and in the end I knew someone would have to get hurt. But the way everything plays out, I felt like it all made sense. I was left feeling like it was the right choice.
Overall this was a fantastic ending to the series and I absolutely enjoyed and recommend it to my fellow paranormal fan.
I have to say that I struggled with my review on this set. The author does an excellent job of building the Vampire Covenant world in book one, but the story tends to get a bit drawn out and repetitive at times. The pacing picks up in the next two books and they're quite busy with Kayci learning her new role and enemies of the covenant to deal with. I also wasn't sure how I felt about the Kayci's love interests and where her journey took her. I liked both Adrian and Cass and honestly, I'm still undecided on which I liked better, but in the end, I think Kayci ended up exactly where she should be. As I said, I struggled with my feelings on this one, especially when I read the last line of the last book. Truth be told, my first reaction was that it was too abrupt after the many hours spent with these characters, but when I took some time to think about the characters and their incredible tale, I've come to the conclusion that it ended just as it needed to. (And no, I'm not giving that away.) Overall, The Vampire Covenant Series is a romantic, sexy tale full of betrayal, love, lust, hope, and some remarkable characters that I won't soon forget.
I never do get tired of a Vampire series, and the Covenant series is refreshing. There's something more to Kayci than just your ordinary girl, and when falls into the hand of a vampire, she's not that shocked. Adrian is easy on the eyes and sexy as hell. As each book progressed, the story got deeper, the characters and their backstories richer, and the pace goes into high gear. Especially when Shreffler introduces Cass, and oh my yum, what is a girl to do? Kayci is learning black magic, and its pull might just be too much. Closing up the series was a hard thing to do. I didn't want to let anyone go, but it ended well. This is a substantial series, with plenty of depth and story, moments where your jaw dropped, and then you were giggling or grabbing a tissue. I loved that this collection wasn't a quick read as there are over 1000 pages, which is rare these days in e-books, and I loved that about this series.
Shreffler brings a magical touch to her writing that will entice and entertain paranormal readers Kayci's life is dramatically altered after a vicious attack that leaves her fumbling blindly seeking answers - only to find dead ends and more questions But do not fear -for our lovely heroine is rescued just in time and, quite unhappily I might admit, enlightened about her true destiny Now, this is where things start to get a little messy for Cass - Can she trust her savior? Can she find the answers she seeks? What is a girl do when she has two men that make her blood pressure rise - and not always in a good way- Can she possibly choose? Should she have to? There is romance, humor, action, and lots of suspense with hidden twists and turns that will keep you engaged and entertained throughout the series. I received a complimentary copy of this boxed set
The Vampire Covenant Series has re-ignited my passion for the paranormal. Kaycie has absolutely no idea of her background, only that she is different, and stronger. Then, she becomes involved in a world she never knew existed.
I loved the relationships she developed with our leading alphas, although I truly struggled with a love-triangle. It finished beautifully, although I still held some lingering sadness...
In this series is the three books: Embrace The Dawning, Cruel Temptation and Dark And Beautiful Nights, and seriously, the chemistry, the twists and the betrayal kept me addicted. Well worth the money and the time spent reading. I voluntarily review an advanced reader copy and highly recommend this 5 star book.
Wow. This is my first Betty Shreffler and I really enjoyed it. Kayci always knew she was a little different from everyone else. But it isn't until after she is attacked by a vampire, that somethings start coming together. That night she also meets Adrian, a very old vampire. I loved how that this is a "real" story. It is not just full of sex and biting. I liked how Kayci takes everything in stride and doesn't freak out about all the changes she is going through. Adrian has lived a long time and has never found someone to make a life with, let alone a "human" but he can't stay away from her. Especially now that she is who she is. I voluntarily read an advance reader copy for my honest review. One-click this wonderful series!
The vampire convenant series has everything a parnomal lover wants in a series. A head strong leading lady, an over the top vampire, an alpha and one heck of a love triangle. Kayci Piecrce doesn't know what she is. With the ability to heal at rapid speed she spent most of her life trying to hide her secret one day shes attack and her world as she knows it comes crashing down. Adrain a vampire has done his fair of evil things put he can't help the pull he feels toward Kayci I have to admit Im team Kayci and Adrain. Kayci can't explain why she pulled to Adrain anymore than he can if you love paranormal books and want something that has a little bit of everything this book is for you.
This is a three book box set including the titles Embrace the Dawning, Cruel Temptation and Dark and Beautiful Nights.
This series follows the story of the half-breed vampire Kayci who has her entire world turned upside down when she comes to realize that not only do supernatural creatures exist, but that she is one of them! This series has a little bit of something for everyone and I love all of the different creatures coming together and co-existing in the magical world created by this talented author! Things become even more complex for our heroine when she becomes torn between a sexy vampire and an intense werewolf that she can't seem to stay away from.
I highly recommend reading this entire series to anyone who loves a great paranormal story.
This series was amazing! The ability of this author to put you in the scene is fantastic. I couldn't put this book down. Kayci finds out, a after an attack by a rogue vampire, that she herself is part vampire and sorceress. This series entails what trials and tribulations she goes through after being appointed the leader of the Covenant. There is humor, heartbreak, a lot of twists and turns and love throughout this story. If you want an exceptional paranormal story, I definitely recommend this one.
The Vampire Covenant Series (Books 1-3) is a good read. Features the story of Kayci Pierce. This is a complex series that has interesting characters, a solid plot and engaging relationships. Full of drama, secrets, loyalty and betrayal. Kayci must figure out who she is and who she's meant to be. Add in a love triangle and this entertaining series is a winner. I am posting an honest review after reading an ARC copy of this book.
I really enjoyed these books. They were really interesting. As I read it may me think that they could possible be like that now and we not know it lol. I catch myself looking at people's eyes more now. I really enjoyed the interaction of all the characters. They were a little longer than I normally read but they were well worth the time . I can't wait for the next in the series.
I loved this series! Betty's writing style is easy to read and I didn't want to put it down once I started reading. The characters have great chemistry and I really enjoyed all the interaction and of course, the HOTNESS! I think she has me convinced that vampires really exist. I am definitely going to read more of Betty Shreffler's books!
I am currently loving this great box set of vampire series by betty sheffler i love the great chemistry between adrian and kayci this series offers it all worth reading and recommending i totally love it
October 14, 2017 I fully enjoyed this three book set. It has been a very long time since I've read any books over 1,000 pages. This was a paranormal romance/thrill ride to read I could not put it down and when I did I couldn't wait to get back to it lol. What would you do if you discovered you where human vampire and witch combined. That is what Kayci lens after being attacked while on her nightly jog there are a lot of twists and turns happiness sadness and scariness combined with romance. I definitely recommend this for all paranormal fans. Thank you for your review.
I really enjoyed book one in this set but whether the second and third book added value. Book 2 had so much going on and I found it hard to keep track of what was happening. Book 3 did not tie off all the loose ends and left me wondering if there would be a book 4. It could be that I don't usually read over 1000 pages in one go. If you enjoy vampire stories this is probably a good series for you. The jury is still out for me.
I liked this series by Betty Shreffler. I am partial to the supernatural world – vampires in particular. It is always a delight to find a new and slightly different approach of the classics by an author. I found the particulars refreshing. I liked the story and the characters.
Absolutely beautiful , I’m in love with Betty’s writing she’s an amazing talented author whom I’m so glad I came across, her characters touched my soul , they are intense sexy fierce strong and sooooooo god damn hot I cannot wait to read more of her work
The Vampire Covenant Trilogy was a supernatural delight for anyone who loves reading paranormal romance. This series follows the story of Kaycie Pierce. While she’s always had some unexplainable qualities about her, such as being stronger and faster than others and having the ability to heal quickly, she never expected her true lineage had roots in the supernatural.
The first book in the trilogy, Embrace the Dawning, is the story of Kaycie’s self discovery. When she is attached by a rogue vampire, it is the famous vampire hunter Adrian Spade that comes to her rescue. Their chemistry is instantaneous and undeniable. Kaycie is drawn deeper and deeper into a world she could never have believed existed and is faced with danger, treachery and the choice of claiming her birthright or staying on the path she has always known.
Book two, Cruel Temptation was much darker than the first book. Kaycie is fully drawn into her reality and has become leader of the Covenant. Her first order of business is to draw vampires, witches and werewolves into a ruling council. Kaycie is once again the focal point of threats being carried out by rogues who do not share in her vision. It’s in this book we are also introduced to Cassius McCabe, a werewolf that Kaycie is immediately drawn to even though she loves Adrian. Her struggles to face the constant dangers and betrayals being thrown at her as well as figuring out where her heart lies is the focus of this book and will leave readers feeling completely wrecked at the end of it!
I was so glad this was a boxed set and I was able to jump right into the final book of the trilogy, Dark and Beautiful Nights. Even though Kaycie is beginning to believe Cass’s claims that she is his mate, she still holds much devotion to Adrian and turns to dark magic to aid her in her quest to free his soul. Kaycie is in a constant push and pull with her emotions and feelings for the men who both hold a piece of her heart. Fighting the seduction of dark magic as well as the sorcery of her enemies, Kaycie must fight to not only survive, but also discover who she is meant to spend eternity with . . . Adrian or Cassius.
This Covenant Trilogy takes readers on quite a journey as they follow Kaycie through her transition into the supernatural world. Kaycie is an amazingly strong and intelligent woman who doesn’t wait around to be rescued and faces life and all it throws at her head on. Adrian is a true hero. He is constantly working to protect the weak and innocent and would die to protect Kaycie, the one woman who has made him feel alive again in hundreds of years. Cass is arrogant and self assured, a player . . . but underneath he is a great big old teddy bear of a man who desperately needs Kaycie to admit she is his mate. His devotion to her is a thing of beauty and their banter is one of my favorite aspects of this book.
The side characters of Kaycie’s best friend, Elise, and the other supernaturals she meets along the way are phenomenally written. Because we get to see them through three books, the author has plenty of time to truly develop them into an in depth cast that help guide Kaycie through her new reality.
Paranormal romance lovers will enjoy the constant action and adventure that keeps the story moving forward at a quick pace. They will also both love and struggle with the love triangle between Kaycie, Adrian and Cass as both men are honorable and completely devoted to and in love with Kaycie. This triangle plays our beautifully and will keep readers glued to their kindles to find out who Kaycie ultimately ends up with.
Embrace The Dawning: This is the first book in the Vampire Covenant Series and introduces you to Kayci Pierce, a girl who has a hard time fitting in with everyone else around her. With abilities that aren't normal, she feels alone. Of course, that is until she is attacked by something she never thought existed, and saved by another one. And now she can't seem to stop thinking about her hero, Adrian, and she is noticing changes in herself that she can't explain. Adrian is a vampire who spends most of his time hunting those who are considered "rogue vampires" by the Covenant and happens to be chasing such a creature when he happens to save Kayci from what would surely have killed her. Now he just has to figure out how to forget the girl that he can't seem to get out of his mind. The story offers hot romance, danger packed adventure, creatures of the night, and so much more. However, the feeling between two characters seem to only cause more problems than good. Will Kayci finally fit in somewhere where she isn't looked at as strange? Can Adrian protect the girl he is attracted to? This story will grab your attention from the very beginning and never lets you go. Cruel Temptation: This is the second book in the Covenant Series by Betty Shreffler and brings us right to where the first book left off. Kayci now understands why she is the way she is. Being a vampire and a sorceress leaves her wanting to learn how to run the Covenant and protecting her species. The future Lykan clan leader agrees with what she wants, but his brother is a distraction that she can't have. New battles are surrounding Kayci as she tracks through unknown areas and she deals with her feelings. After reading the first book I didn't think that this author could do any better, but she has gone above and beyond in the continuation of Kayci's story. Again, you have a book that you don't want to put down after reading the last page, and makes the anticipation for the next one all the stronger. What will happen next? Will the wolf be too much for her to stay focused and get things done? Or will the steamy vampire steal her attention? Of course, its a must to read the first book before you read this one. Dark And Beautiful is the third book in the Covenant Series. This is a roller-coaster of emotions, because while Devotion keeps Kayci longing for Adrian's return, she must use dark magic to free him but gets caught in its web. Cassius is unwilling to give up the one thing he has wanted most and only just gotten...his mate. Kayci is pulled between not only the dark magic and the repercussions of that, but between her unrestrainable for Cassius and her devotion to Adrian. Will this battle save them all in the end or only cause them more damage? Book three has had the biggest battles that any of the characters have endured so far. It is a heart stopping, attention grabbing, adventure that will leave the reader sitting on the edge of their seat and never wanting to put it down. Betty Shreffler has done it again with this absolutely thrilling paranormal story, that makes the entire thing feel real. She has honestly given the reading world a set of characters who are more than just names and descriptions in a book, but another family and community as well. Read this whole series for something that will stay with you longer than there are pages in the book.
Do you believe in destiny? Fate? Well in this story you certainly will become a believer. Kayci has grown up knowing she is definitely different. She was orphaned and raised thinking she has a sun allergy. Her best friend Elise has been her rock and confidant. As with all destiny a turn of events leads her to Adrian vampire /vampire hunter. They are immediately drawn to one another and can't keep their distance. Once he is in her life she learns things about herself that she didn't know existed. This then leads to not only a self discovery but more secrets exposed. I really enjoyed this story my only complaint is that it dragged in a couple of parts. The second book was awesome. It was faster pace and had so much action. In this book we are introduced to cass and let me say he is perfect. I was rooting for him all throughout the book. We meet new enemies as well as allies. There were times were I cried and others were I was literally yelling at the characters.Book 3 shattered me in a good way lol. It wasn’t what I expected the ending to be like but it was a good surprise This was the fight for her heart. Sigh..Ugh i laughed at times and others balled. This is a must read series if you're a paranormal fan.
I normally don't read paranormal books about vampires, but I love Betty Shreffler's talented writing style so I decided why not? And boy am I ever glad that I did so, because I was instantly transported into a world that I had a great time in, especially since I wasn't left hanging with all three books together! Kayci Pierce is a girl who has issues with choices between love, loyalty, secrecy, and betrayal, which is the only life that she's known. But by book 2, she's finding a darker side of herself when she's torn between two hot men. Adrian, the vampire soldier, and Cass, the alpha werewolf. Which means that she must pick in book 3 between the two, as she's the leader of The Vampire Covenant, and already claimed by another. Who will win this battle? Yeah, that's kind of generic, but there's so much going on which kept my heart racing, that I want to shout out the story off the rooftops, and not to be mean, but because I loved it so much. But that would be spoiler douchery at it's finest, and I'm against all of that. Trust me when I say that the twists & turns are crazy exciting, and will have you dropping f-bombs as loudly as I did. But when all's said and done, I'll say it again, I'm so glad that I took a chance on this hot, exciting piece of paranormal goodness, and HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Another great read from Betty Shreffler! This 3 book box set about half vampire , half sorceress Kayci is a full blown 1000+ page epic containing all my favourite ingredients : Vampires, Werewolves. Magic and a love triangle to boot! Don't let the size of the books put you off, the author manages to keep your attention despite the complexity of the storyline and the paranormal world she has created. A highly recommended read!
I have such mixed feelings about this series. I absolutely loved the first book! Wonderful characters and a truly engaging story. Kacey was the best kind of female lead character and Adrian was amazing. By the time book 2 was over, the storyline had basically just turned into a severe love triangle. Everything else just seemed to disappear. Take her bff for example, in book 1 they're extremely close, K considers turning Elise against her will because she can't stand the thought of losing her. By book 3, they haven't spoken in months. Let me just say that I really liked the werewolves. I thought Cass was a great character. I'm not scoring a 3 because my fav didn't get the girl. My problem was the ending. Even though there was a final justifiable reason for her choice at the end it just seemed extremely cruel. The ending left me feeling sad and pissed off instead of warm and fuzzy. In short, if you want a page turner with awesome characters you should stop at book 1. If you like love triangles and serious OMG I'm in love with them both what should I do drama, read books 2 and 3. I should've stopped at book 1.
Kayci doesn't know she's a vampire and ends up getting attached by a newbie. Adrian is a hunter for the covenant and and saves her . He has an ability to track anyone and find them, kill them if he must, by their scent. When she finds out that she was born from a vampire and sorceress. The leader of the covenant knows exactly who Kayci is and some of the covenant members want her dead. Adrian, who's in love with her, is ready to kill any covenant member, to keep her safe.
This series has so much going on and highly recommend it to paranormal romance readers.
I was a little disappointed on how fast it ended. I felt like there could be so many spin- off series from the characters in this series. As much as this author explained twice about new information to characters, that the ending could have been tied up much better. That was the only complaint I had. Because this is such an amazing series and loved it. Great job!! Please do some spinoffs. I'd love to read Thrones love story and Eva's. And Vladimir needs a love story and being a twin, there should be some weird communication going on.So many other books to write from this series.
I gave this series so far 4 stars only because book 3 was more sex scenes than story. I have no problem with steamy love scenes, I just don't want them to overrun the storyline. Book 1 & 2 are 5 stars! The story is amazing! I'm counting the days to the next book.
