- Reviewed in Australia on 3 April 2024Verified PurchaseI was hooked. There's not much more to say. The letter concept was captivating, and I couldn't get enough of the kidnapper character. If you feel the same way and instantly fell in love with them, let's be friends. The book left me wanting more and more. I highly recommend getting the entire series because I know you won't be able to put it down, just like me.

- Reviewed in Australia on 16 October 2017Dear Captor is a dark romance novella and the first in a new series by Liz Lovelock.
Elenore's past is one made of nightmares and one that no one ever wants to experience. She finally is making something of herself working for a teen magazine, when a serial killer starts taking and killing girls. One of Elenore's friends is taken and she finds herself always checking her surroundings.
One day she literally stumbles into a handsome man, Roman, at her local café that she frequents for her boss' lunch. Roman leaves his business card for her after meeting her in the hopes that she will contact him.
What was interesting and unique with this book is you get to read the book from multiple POVs and not only the heroine's.
After being a bit uneasy with reading this book, I'm definitely interested to read what happens next!

- Reviewed in Australia on 20 September 2017** Review by Gayle from Bloggers From Down Under **
The anticipation has been a real struggle for me waiting for this novel, so when it landed in my Kindle I was ecstatic.
Now sitting here with Dear Captor all complete I am simply lost for words.
And writing this review?
It terrifies me.
But I will say this……..
I refuse to give anything away about this novel because it needs to be read free from any spoilers. And why?
Because I would like to think that this novel will impact you just like it did me.
It literally tore my heart out.
Highly emotional, this novel isn’t for the fainthearted. It’s graphic, highly confronting, raw and gritty. It swallows you whole emotionally and psychologically.
The subject matter is something that you don’t see often in a novel, but yet Liz Lovelock explored it and gave it the respect it deserves. Written with so much depth and detail you can’t help but feel the emotion bleeding from every page.
And believe me when I tell you……It hurts!!
But while it hurts, it also gives you hope.
It gives you hope that no matter how broken you feel, how damaged you are, not only psychically but emotionally, there is always hope that one day things will be better. Hope that the scars will heal. Hope that life will be different, better even.
Because after-all, how can you break when you are already broken?
Liz Lovelock. Thank you so much for your words. Dear Captor for me was simply….Perfection, and I look forward to the next instalment.
Elenore……My heart is with you!!
5 stars.

5.0 out of 5 stars just when her life was looking up it comes tumbling down like a house of cards
Verified PurchaseDear Captor the first in Letters in Blood series, WOW!
Truly this dark story had me hanging on every word.
Elenore has been through hell, just when her life was looking up it comes tumbling down like a house of cards.
Detective Roman Blackwood, just when he found her Elenore is gone.
Will he find her in time?
Liz’s characters are beautifully written, compelling story and I look forward to With Love the second book in this series.
*Elenore*
Not me, though – he kept me.
One letter change my destiny of certain death.
It was never in me to give up easily.
I’ve always been a fighter.
He never saw me coming, and never knew my strength.
He was not what I expected either.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great read!
Verified PurchaseI was sent this book in an email provided by a service that sends me discounted books etc and this cover immediately caught my attention and I didn’t hesitate to buy it. I then went onto Goodreads and it was a different, lighter cover so good call for the remodel of the cover as this new one definitely sells the story!
