Fix Me Not (THE FIX SERIES Book 2) Kindle Edition
Paige Sullivan's life is a train wreck. In a matter of months she lost her business, her swanky apartment, and her big city life. Now she's stuck in Nowhere, New Hampshire, sleeping on her mom's couch. If that wasn't bad enough, she's forced to do odd jobs for money. She has a plan though, and once she's saved enough, she's out of there. That is, as long as she doesn't murder her sexy new employer first.
Asher Thompson is the ruggedly handsome hermit of the Thompson clan. Tall, ridiculously sexy despite his beard, and annoyingly aloof, his main concern is his privacy. He fills his days with his work as a carpenter and the peaceful solitude of his lake house. A peaceful solitude that vanished the moment Paige Sullivan stormed into his life, hell-bent on driving him crazy.
The problem is, opposites attract and each time they cross paths she works her way further under his skin.

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 22 September 2017I thoroughly enjoyed this book.
We know from the first book that Asher is pretty much a recluse and that is really brought home in the start of this book. He's really happy not to have anyone around except for his cleaner Millie, who does his shopping and collects his mail too.
Imagine his well ordered life being thrown into chaos when Millie has an accident and Asher will have to fend for himself for a few weeks. Enter Millie's daughter Paige, she really is full of herself but as she needs work she takes over her mother's job and we start to see a different side of her.
The attraction is there and we have a very entertaining story as Asher comes out of himself to watch over Millie, and as she learns he's the man she wants.
Lovely story that's very well written.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 26 September 2017This is the second book in the series and having not read the first one I didn't know what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised.
When Paige goes home to look after her sick mother after a fall, she also finds herself doing a bit of shopping and housekeeping for the guy her mum works for.
Asher is upset when his housekeeper has a fall in his home but when her daughter comes to fill in the mutual hate is instant.
This is a lovely story with lots of pent up frustration from them both wanting more but not being up front about it.
I did like this book, however it could have been longer. I felt I was just getting to know Paige and Asher and the book ended, hence the four star rating.

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 22 September 2017I really enjoyed Fix Me Not, I thought that Paige and Asher (swooon) were perfect for each other and I loved watching them grow and change together.
Definitely my favourite book by Carey Heywood so far and i can't wait for more of The Fixed Series.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 30 September 2017Paige and Asher couldn't be more different - he is a loner and she is an event planner - plus, their prejudice about each other sure is making staying together in one place a torture!
They may be cat and dog, but can they manage to stay together long enough to form something?

5.0 out of 5 stars loved this hero...the heroine not so much
FIX ME NOT is a standalone read in a series with a HEA. Asher is a solitary man. He is an extreme introvert but I don't think his family recognizes that. I do because I too am one!! We are not an easily understood personality. Asher is a very talented carpenter. He owns his own business living off the grid in his house, shop and cabin on the lake. All built by him. His family has problems understanding that he is not lonely he just prefers being alone. He is a big, gorgeous male with a mountain man persona including the beard. He doesn't intrude on anyone and he prefers that everyone keeps their distance.
Millie is his housekeeper and errand runner. She buys his groceries, picks up his mail and keeps his house tidy. She is one of the only people that truly understands him. She is a widow with one grown daughter. Asher is the son she never had. She has a fall in his house, breaks her leg, and is out of commission for about 6 weeks. Her grown daughter, Paige, is going to take over her duties until she gets back on her feet.
Paige is the heroine. There is not one thing to like about this woman. She is 30, single and very bitter. In New York she had her own event planning company. She was living the good life. A fancy apartment, eats only at the best restaurants, frequents the upscale bars, dates only successful "suits". She has it all. She is so wrapped up in how successful she is that she forgets to pay attention to detail. Her employee steals from her leaving her with nothing. She loses it all, her bank account, her apartment, her job, her big city life. She returns home with her tail tucked between her legs. She is angry, bitter, snarky, hateful, rude and obnoxious. There is truly not one thing to like about her. Not having a good relationship with her mother they are constantly at each other. She hates how far she has fallen and wants only to earn enough money to get her out of town and back in a big city. Preferable one far from New York. She is a real piece of work. However, don't give up on her. I almost did. I didn't like her at all and couldn't see anyway that I eventually would.
Naturally the H&h clash from the first moment. He is a recluse, living like a mountain man and she is big city and all that entails. She thinks she knows it all and everyone around her is way beneath her social status. Don't give up on her. I would have but I liked Asher too much to let her ruin the story for me. He is a terrific hero, you can't help but love him. For most of the story he comes across as a very innocent 30 year old man but then when he makes his move he is anything but. It is a terrific story. I found it entertaining and fun. You can't help but love his family, there are a lot of siblings and they are all in each other's business. All knowing what is best for the other. It is a light-hearted read with some steamy scenes. I thoroughly enjoyed it and definitely recommend it. This is Book 2 in this series. Noah an older brother has his story in book 1. You do not need to read in order to enjoy the story. This book stands alone. I am reading in order. I loved Noah's story so went right to Asher's. Next is the sister, Abby. She is in need of a HEA so I'm interested to see how her story goes. A good read.
I was not paid for this review. I am not a writer nor do I know one. I am not kin to this author. I am a reader and this is my opinion, nothing more, nothing less. 9/23/18

4.0 out of 5 stars Started slower, but ended AWESOME!
4 stars — OK, this review is going to be just pathetic b/c I finished reading this book when we were on vacation in October, and while I made some notes for myself, I did not end up writing up the review and kept putting it off. So all I have to go on is my horrible memory and those few notes. But I suppose maybe that means maybe I’ll be less verbose? Hahahahaha….I kill myself.
So this one had a slower start. I didn’t really like Paige *at all* at the beginning. I don’t think I understood what made her tick at the beginning, and where her (frankly) horrible attitude came from. I *really* didn’t get the mother daughter dynamic…that’s another area that was not flattering for Paige. But then it just felt like she changed personalities completely instead of growing, or at the very least I didn’t see her growth. But if I ignored that and just accepted new Paige, then I liked new Paige. New Paige was kind of awesome. I loved how hardworking Paige was, and I loved hearing her genuine passion for her job. I felt it alongside her.
Asher was a bit rough at the beginning too, but I felt like I saw his changes/growth more. And I seriously loved Asher, and particularly loved how accurately Ms. Heywood portrayed an introvert. I’m sure not every introvert is the same, but I could vibe with so much of what he was going through and how he reacted to different situations.
I will admit that I hated how Asher constantly apologized and regretted his actions and assumptions, but Paige never did. We got a half-assed explanation of her being jealous, but no remorse. Hence why I saw more growth in Asher than Paige.
Once they fell in like and started pursuing, it felt like a different story, and I loved that story. Even a bit before that part, I LOVED how Asher waited for her at the bar. I totally agree with Finley and Abby, that was ridiculously romantic. And they both had some seriously funny moments!
So while it may have started slower, and I was slow to fall in love with Paige and Asher, once I did I was so in. The latter half of the book was just solid and fantastic and made up for the rougher start. I’m seriously so excited for Abby and Gideon’s stories now, but I will admit I’m still reserving judgement on Eli.

5.0 out of 5 stars What are you waiting for.....5+ stars
This is book 2 in the Fix Series. This is another great book in a great series by this author. In this book you meet Asher and Paige. Asher is Noah’s brother who lives on the lake away from everyone. Paige is Millie (Asher’s cleaning person’s) daughter. Paige has come to her mother after loosing everything in her business and reputation after the person she thought was a friend. Millie has an accident which then throws Paige into Asher’s world to do her moms job. Paige also wants the money because wants to get out and get her business back somewhere she is not known. Paige decides she is going to Texas to start over so she is working hard to get the money she needs to get there and get started. Enter Finley who fled Texas after her disastrous marriage. They hit it off and FInley wants her to help plan her wedding to Noah. Asher and Paige have a love hate relationship. It is really great to see how their relationship evolved. Asher tries to come out of his comfort zone for her and Paige begins to rely on his alpha protection side and not try and change him. A blast from her past offers her a temporary job of a lifetime back in NYC. She could re-establish herself and possibly her business and career. She goes and Asher visits when she needs his help with some wood that was damaged. I don’t want to tell you more because I don't want to spoil it. This is a stand alone but the characters from book one make appearances. So if you haven’t read book one I strongly suggest you read it then read this one. Get ready for Abby’s book which is next.

5.0 out of 5 stars Review: The Fix 2: Fix Me Not
Fix Me Not by Carey Heywood is the second book in her series, The Fix . Told in dual POV, this is a well crafted romantic tale of a reclusive man and the outgoing woman who complements him more than either expected.
Asher Thomspon likes his space and his privacy. Outside of that space the press of people and need for conversation becomes overwhelming. His family understands this about him and push him out of his comfort zone when needed but are also content to let him be who he is. After his housekeeper has an accident and can no longer work for him for the next couple of months she sends her daughter in her place to make sure he is taking care of himself. Paige is the furthest thing Asher expected, in more ways than one.
Paige has always detested hearing her mother talk about Asher. Honestly, she is jealous. Her mother cares so much about "Asher" and could give two hoots about Paige. But this trip home is NOT about that. It is about getting back on her feet and making a come back. It doesn't matter that her vent planning business went belly up. She knows what went wrong and is going to work night and day to save the money to start over. Perhaps in Texas... Definitely NOT in New Hampshire. When her mother convinces her to help Asher while she herself is unable they do NOT get along, and that is the nicest way to put it. But things change and so does the chemistry between these two unlikely characters
The wonderful writing behind Paige and Asher's romance allows them to spark and fizzle, falter and try again. Giving you their awkward moments as much as their smoking hawt moments. Well paced and well written, I absolutely enjoyed this story and cannot wait for more of these Thompson siblings. Up next: Fix My Fall. Enjoy!

5.0 out of 5 stars Outstanding Story!
Carey Heywood is one of my go-to authors. Every book of this author that I have read leads me to believe that she has even more stories to tell that will ingrain her storytelling in my mind. Fix Me Not, the follow-up to Fix Her Up, has me believing this more than ever.
While Asher was introduced to us in Fix Her Up, in this book we get more of his story. He’s a loner, preferring solitude to society. He’s hard working – to the point all is forgotten as he works on a project seeking the perfection he sees in his mind when he starts a project. And of course, he’s sexy and swoon worthy.
Paige is a tiny bit snarky when we first meet her, but when you find out the reasons you’ll understand why she’s the way she is. As she works through the changes in her life, due to circumstances beyond her control, she’s thrown into Asher’s life.
BOOM! To say that these two don’t get along is an understatement. But, things aren’t always as they seem. Ms. Heywood’s storyline bringing these two together is brilliant and so worth your time to read.
