    I cannot put into words the feelings I had going through my mind when I finished this book.I had tears in my eyes and my heart went out to both Mackenzie and Connor, the journey they both had to go down and the love they had for each other. Lauren has captured this, I would recommend any one to read this book and I would give this more than 5 stars if I could. I do hope that her other books are as captivating,and as moving.

    Yeah, that’s this whole book summed up in one word. Adorable.

    From the very beginning I was hooked. First, I knew Mackenzie and Connor would get together. And the short time they took to fall in love with each other was amazing and I truly had a smile on my face whilst reading it. The other thing that got me hooked was this secret that Mckenzie was seemingly keeping from everyone but her closest family.

    When the secret is revealed, truthfully I then did have mixed feelings about their relationship. However, I was completely won over by the two of them and how they truly loved each other and the support they gave each other.

    Once the secret was revealed, I truly believed their would be a happy ending and everything would be fine. But the more I read, the more I realised that wasn’t going to happen. Not only though was this really sad, it was so adorable and sweet.

    It really is a story that may not have a conventional happy ending but you can’t help but smile at the whole process of everything.

    The other amazing this is the music that is referrenced in the book because it really does relate to the story and the characters. Truthfully I can’t listen to “So Far Gone” by Thousand Foot Krutch without thinking about these two and even if I am in the street, a smile still appears on my face.

    Sometimes I just don't want a super easy feel good romance. Sometimes I want to work slowly toward the beautiful ending. Sometimes I want to feel a lot, challenge my emotions. Last Chance did that in spades.

    Are you in the mood for an Ugly Cry? This book brought ugly crocodile tears by the bucket full and I loved every minute.

    You might be wondering why. It is very simple. Last Chance is a very beautiful love story. The expression of love was fantastic. I was taken back to the 197o's when I read Love Story by Erich Segal. So sad, but so beautiful.

    Both books are a symbol of forever lasting love. A love for better or worse. Love is what matters. If you love deeply, you will do anything and everything for the person you love. When it is your Last Chance you grab every moment. You hang on to it. You cherish it.

    This is an enjoyable and very well written story of second chances, love, heartbreak with a smidgen of taboo. For me, there was not enough angst in the story and was a little predictable. I felt there could have been more depth to the characters and their situations which for me would have enhanced the book and made it perfect.

    Mackenzie has always had very strong feelings for her best friends brother, being older than herself she had never acted on those feelings but when they meet again eight years later under, let’s just say under very unusual circumstances, she is determined to tell him how she feels. This leads to all sorts of complex situations and presents some interesting reading that will tug at your heartstrings, frustrate the hell out of you but is a well-executed story that will hold your attention all the way through. One that is definitely worth the read !!!

    I am a complete blubbering mess after reading this book! I felt like my heart was ripped into pieces but that does not take away the fact that it is a beautiful love story that should be turned into a movie. Mackenzie and Connor are a beautiful couple when they finally got the chance to be together but life, as we know it, has a surefire way of giving us the knocks to test our love and faith in it.

    Please have tissues handy when you read this book. Lots and lots of them but that is the beauty of discovering new authors...you never know what kind of story you'll be getting from them.

    GAH, Lauren!!! I love you and I hate you right now. LOL This book was so much more than what I thought it was going to be when I started reading it. I went into this book blind - I didn't read the blurb and just dove right in. And let me tell you, even after finishing this, I went back and read the blurb and it still won't prepare you for everything and to be honest, I love that the blurb doesn't give the story away. But geezus, this book had me in a ball of emotions.

    I am going to say this now and get it out of the way. If this book came with any type warning as to what is going to possibly happen in this book, the whole plot of this book would have been ruined. So any reader out there that states they wish they had an inkling of what was going to happen needs to be quiet; giving away any portions of a book because the reader needs "to be prepared" for what is going to happen is ridiculous. You need to go into this book without any knowledge of what is to come - enjoy the "suspense" of what the author is writing. It just makes the book that so much more enjoyable and meaningful.

    I am writing this review with tears streaming down my face, even a day after I finished this book; I just can't hold them in. This book broke me, it really did. I applaud Lauren for writing such a heart wrenching book, but I want to "yell" at her too for making me feel so much. LOL But in all honesty, I love when an author is able to pull such strong emotions from me - I was completely vested in these characters and their story; they became like family to me.

    I won't say much about this book except is it soooo much more than the blurb. Kenzie is one hell of a strong woman; she's a god damn pillar of strength. I just can't fathom being in her shoes, but she definitely made me want to be just as strong as she. And Connor - that man is one in a million. There are no others like him. This story is heart wrenching yet so beautiful. I can't say enough wow's to express my feelings on this book.

    Something I feel that is worth mentioning too, is the songs that Lauren mentions throughout this book. Many of the books I read, songs are always mentioned in them and at times I do look them up, and sometimes I just ignore it altogether. However, with this book, these songs were a very important part of the story and I felt moved to look up the lyrics to them and even listen to them (when I could) while reading this book. And wow are they even more impactful than I anticipated.

    And that's all you are getting from me on that. Just be prepared for more when you read this book. The story is so beautiful but will make you cry. Once you start this book, you won't be able to stop reading it. I finished this book while I was at work because I had to know how it all played out. And yes, I was ugly crying so hard, I had to leave my office to compose myself.

    Lauren's message behind this story is something we all take for granted daily. Live life to it's fullest, each day is a blessing. Never take for granted what you already have; it's not always greener on the other side.

    Lauren, you are a diamond in the rough that everyone needs to know about. Your writing is impeccable. Your characters are so real and their stories are amazing. And I love that write both contemporary and I can't wait to read more from you in the future.

    This book was an ugly cry book and I loved the story! It just touches your heart and makes you feel all the feels and just realize that you should live the best life you can!

    Mackenzie decided to take a break from law school to just relax and have some fun. She has a checklist of all the things she wants to do and try. She actually fulfills 2 things on her list with the help of her best friend's brother even though he didn't realize it at the time.

    Connor is a workaholic lawyer who doesn't have time for a personal life. Plus a couple of failed relationships makes him not want to have a girlfriend. However, when he realizes that the woman he had a great night with is Mackenzie, he is surprised by how much he enjoys her company and want to get to know her better.

    Mackenzie decides to tell Connor that she has had a crush on him for over 10 years. Mackenzie is doing things that she might not otherwise do but mutual attraction between the 2 makes them both take risks that they wouldn't have thought to take.

    Mackenzie and Connor live the life that they want to live and do the things that they wanted to do but might have never thought to. Connor helps Mackenzie check things off her lists and he comes up with his own lists to complete too. The love these 2 shares is so touching and fulfilling. And the extent that Connor loves Mackenzie and vice versa is so amazing that it makes you want to find the same thing!

    I can't say enough how much emotions this story brought out in me and made me feel things I never thought I would feel reading a book! Thank you for a great story Lauren!
