What We Do in the Light (Day to Night Book 2) Kindle Edition

Just one month ago, Valentine O'Dell got her heart ripped out – yet another problem to add to her rapidly growing list. Between fighting to bring her sick grandmother home, searching for a new apartment after being evicted, and trying to figure out how exactly she's going to pay for everything, she doesn't have time to cry over a broken heart.

Then Ari Sharapov walks back in and tries to solve everything.

Ari may have gained a little more control in his life, but there's still one area he doesn't have a grip on – Valentine refuses to believe anything he says. Gone is the girl who wanted someone to take care of her, and in her place is a woman who's willing to take everything he has to offer, but without giving anything of herself in return. He's used to fighting battles in a courtroom, but convincing her of his feelings will be his biggest struggle yet.

Maybe it's time for this relationship to be brought to light.

Crazy woman from an undisclosed location in Alaska (where the need for a creative mind is a necessity!), I have been writing since ... forever? Yeah, that sounds about right. I have been told that I remind people of Lucille Ball - I also see shades of Jennifer Saunders, and Denis Leary. So basically, I laugh a lot, I'm clumsy a lot, and I say the F-word A LOT.

I like dogs more than I like most people, and I don't trust anyone who doesn't drink. No, I do not live in an igloo, and no, the sun does not set for six months out of the year, there's your Alaska lesson for the day. I have mermaid hair - both a curse and a blessing - and most of the time I talk so fast, even I can't understand me.

Yeah. I think that about sums me up.

I liked the first book in this series but I loved this one. I cried so much I had to stop reading in a couple of places but it was so worth it and the ending was perfect but I do have questions about Rose and his father perhaps there will be a follow up?

I really liked Ari and Val's story. Unfortunately there are some editing issues that take away from enjoying the book. I want to give it 3 stars because of that but the story itself deserves 5.

In the first book we learn that Ari was named after his dad, his real name is Aaron. His mom wanted to name him Ari after her so they compromised, he goes by Ari but legally his name is Aaron after his dad which is why he hates to be called that. At some point his dad's name changes to Donald and that is continued into the second book. I hope this is corrected, it was frustrating

I loved the supporting characters in the story and how they played into the love story. I'll definitely read more from this author.

Saint Valentine and Aaron will break your kindle. Hands down, the best romantic pair I’ve read in ages. They are classic and modern, together and independent. I LOVE THIS BOOK! LOVE IT. Oh wait, go read What We Do in the Night. You must buy this duet and read and read and put off plans and stay up all night and grab some tissue and UNF. Yes, you will recover long enough to say I want to read this again. Right TF now!!!!

Stylo Fantôme: I LOVE YOU! These are the first titles I've read by her, and she is immediately an auto-click for me. I'll need to invent emotions to accurately describe how this couple slayed me. I got all my book wives reading her now. She's a talent. Incredible.

THIS BOOK! Fantome has spun gold in this pair. I was a hot mess after reading their beautiful rocky soil churning love story.

They had me pulling my hair out, and melting in a puddle of goo. These are real people dealing with the crap hands life dealt them (and it's so well told, their wounds hurt, lifting up through the glass and gah! stabbing your heart and my pulse raced along with this plot), but it’s the deep emotional and sensual connections that kept me turning pages long after I should have powered down. I couldn’t. I couldnt stop. She's so good.

Wow, family does a number on these two, and only through embracing the biggest risks—intimacy, vulnerability, and passions--do these two find their solace in each other. And it is a smoldering solace, OMG they are so freaking hot!!! Ari, Ari Ari, god he's made for Val. And if you're still reading, please just scroll up and click purchase. You can thank me in a week or two when you've recovered.

Sigh—I’ve already reread both books. Fine! Several times.

BY the way, there is nothing shallow or light or fleeting about this story. There are no cheap characters motives that make you eye roll. Fantome has written a classic romance—and added her signature sexual tableau—dealing with the couple.

Writing this review has stirred up all my emotions. I love everything. IF I had one criticism, it would be that the sequel novella with more Ari Val togetherness is not yet written. I want more. I am greedy, just like Val and Ari xoxo

5.0 out of 5 stars Fab, sexy conclusion

A very satisfactory conclusion to Ari and Valentine's story.

"He steals my oxygen and my heart and my self-worth."

At the end of the first book, Valentine overhead something that devastated her. She cuts Ari off and refuses to listen to his explanations. This second instalment has Ari and Valentine going one step forward and three steps back, as they fight for and against each other, as well as unseen forces who are trying to keep them apart.

"She was completely wrong - they weren't a bad match. They were the perfect match. He just had to make her see it."

Valentine is convinced that they are not meant to be but I loved that Ari battled hard to win her and make her see that they were nothing without each other. She was pretty stubborn and my heart hurt for Ari and I was rooting for him all the way. He jumped numerous hurdles to win her. A strong independent heroine crying out for someone to lean on, and a demanding alpha with a tender core and willing to risk everything for the one he loved.

This story was a fab, sexy conclusion and I thoroughly enjoyed it!

Val and Ari's relationship is like that. A whirlwind of mistakes; overreactions and bad decisions, but so real and so beautiful. Loved this story, from the beginning to the end.
