I couldn’t walk away. It’s not who I am. The moment I saw Rayne broken and bloodied, I knew I wasn’t leaving without her.
As the president of the Houston Defiance MC, my job is to protect. And there’s no taming the rage building inside my body, screaming at me to shield her from the husband who’s beating her day in and day out.
Taking her was never in my plans, but plans change. I don’t care if she’s married. Or that her husband’s a cop.
Our connection is explosive, it’s dangerous, it’s intoxicating. And I’m fast being swept up in her storm. It’s something I can’t ignore.
I thought the enemy was clear, and I was ready to fight. But maybe there’s a threat we didn’t see coming? Maybe there’s someone closer to us than we ever could have imagined. Someone who could be the destruction of us both.
From International Bestselling Author KE Osborn comes the highly anticipated first book in the Houston Defiance MC Series.
With a flair for all things creative, USA Today Bestselling Author K E Osborn, is drawn to the written word. Exciting worlds and characters flow through her veins, coming to life on the page as she laughs, cries, and becomes enveloped in the storyline right along with you. She's entirely at home when writing sassy heroines and alpha males that rise from the ashes of their pasts.
K E Osborn comforts herself with tea and Netflix, after all, who doesn't love a good binge?
This book sure lives up to its title, because it is one Explosive read. There is so much happening all the time. It's intense, addicting, violent, full of action, passion and grit. When you pick up a book from this author you know your in for one hell of a ride.
From the very beginning KE Osborn lures you in. Rayne's situation is heartbreaking but I really enjoyed reading about her evolving from a victim to a strong survivor. Houston Defiance MC president Zero, has his dark demons but does not shy away from his responsibilities.
There are so many twists and turns, unexpected alliances in this well written and thrilling. This is a real page turner and I simply can’t wait to see what comes next with Prinie and Wraith’s story.
I’m in love with the cover of this book and the title. The cover because … do I even have to explain why? Lol The title because it makes me super happy when the title of a book describes a book impeccably. Everything about this story was explosive and I loved every minute of reading it! I’ve only read one other book by this author in the past, but she’s been on my radar since I discovered another author she has co-written some books with that are on my TBR. And now I have the entire Chicago Defiance MC series downloaded and ready for me! :)
Alright, back to the actual book! I’ll start by saying that there’s quite a bit of real life circumstances happening in this book and almost all of them have zero rainbows. Do with that what you will … I will also say that I give the author mad props for respectfully representing said life circumstances and making sure they were written accurately. Again, not a lot of rainbows and gumdrops. You’ve been warned!
As every first book in any MC series does, Explosive will introduce you to a wide range of secondary characters along with MC itself while building the relationship of the leads. The author did an exceptional job of incorporating all of these elements and not making the story tedious. As I mentioned earlier, it was quite the opposite! I’m really proud of how this story of family and friendship, brotherhood and sisterhood, trust, power, control, betrayal, deceit and finally vengeance unfolded. There’s no shortage of action and drama in these pages so pay attention because a lot will be thrown at you, but it will all be worth it! I cannot wait for Addictive!!
I have read quite a bit by this author and love her writing style. She knows how to write a great MC book.
This is Zero's and Rayne's book. I will tell you that this book starts death and then a lot of physical abuse.... it's not done by Zero. If it's a trigger for you, you have been warned but there's a very happy ending 😉
Zero doesn't trust women and has his heart closed off. Rayne has blocked off her heart and deals with the hand she has been given. She has nobody to help her until an Uber driver befriends her and they become best friends.
People come into our lives for a reason and you'll see what a good can come from that.
An amazing 5 star read that took me in on the very first page and didn’t let me go until the last word of this book was read!! Club life can be very family oriented as was the case of the Houston’s Defiance MC Prez, Frenzy, his wife Moonshine and their three kids Zero, Prinie and Koda. Zero would be taking over the MC in time but had no idea that the time was be so soon. Club life had a brutal side as well and it showed when their enemy, the Militia, came into their clubhouse and took out both Frenzy and his wife in front of their kids.
Now Zero was Prez of the club that had taken on a shaky truce between the two enemies because both of their leaders were taken out that day. Prinie couldn’t deal with what she saw and took her brother Koda and ran. This is when Rayne comes into the picture as a severely beaten wife of a cop no less. Rayne and Prinie form a friendship both trying to help the other out. A year later Zero comes to Chicago to retrieve his family and bring them back home to Houston. After seeing the condition that Rayne was in Zero knew he had to rescue her from the h*ll she was living in.
Their connection was intense and both were coming with huge baggage from their past but the chemistry was unmistaken. The author did a great job of building their relationship and had me hoping these two could find their way. As for the bad guys there were plenty of them and the club’s situation just got worse. Alliances were made that will shock you. I definitely recommend this book and I can’t wait to see what comes next with Prinie and Wraith’s story. I’m hooked!!
I just didn't really enjoy this and couldn't get into the story. I tend to like pretty over-the-top stories but the writing style really put me off of this one.
The first thing I noticed in this book but just how much swearing there is. I'm not offended by swearing or anything like that but it made the characters and the writing feel very juvenile. When characters are cursing every single sentence they say, it just is annoying.
The start of this book also really put me off. The first scene in this book is a violent scene where the hero's parents are killed in front of him and his siblings. Immediately, no one acts as a real person would. Before the bodies are even cold, the hero's siblings have fled and the hero is talking like he didn't just see his parents get murdered. Honestly, that trauma is never really dealt with in this book, people just seemed to have moved on. We then get a time skip a year in the future where Zero goes with his club to Chicago to collect his siblings and there he meets Rayne, the heroine. I don't really understand why this first section had to happen. Nothing in Chicago is really important at all once all the characters go back to Houston. I feel like there must have been a way to get all the characters together that didn't require this largely unnecessary diversion.
That was generally an issue with this book. There is so much downtime where nothing is happening in the plot. When I'm pitched a high-drama story like this, I want there to be a lot of action and I didn't feel like I got that here. Mostly it was just a boring story about Zero and Rayne, but mostly Rayne, flip-flopping on their feelings for each other and acting extremely irrationally. Then the plot comes roaring back at the very end of the story in a way that didn't make a lot of sense or have nearly enough setup in the rest of the story.
The romance between Zero and Rayne is pretty forgettable and they spend a lot of time making completely irrational assumptions about each other. Rayne especially always seemed to assume the worst with very little justification. If this flaw was tied to her past abuse more explicitly, it would have made more sense but as it was, it just seemed like she was a very irrational person. Every conflict between them was so predictable and something I had seen a million times before.
The thing that will stop me from reading this series is more the writing style than anything else. If you don't mind the writing style and just want a book that is mindless fun, this might work for some people, it just didn't work for me.
I was super back and forth on if I liked this one.
Zero was raised to be the next President of the Houston Defiance MC. He just never expected it to happen so soon or the reason for it. A year later when he tracks down his younger siblings to bring them home, he never expects her. Rayne is just existing at this point. Her abusive husband is a cop and she doesn't see a way out, until he shows up. Will this blow back on the club?
I loved that the MC is a big family and they do everything together. Rayne was a great addition! She has such a backbone and isn't afraid of standing her ground. Her and Zero were a great couple, when they had their shit together.
Didn't care for Zero's ex but unfortunately she's the sister of one of his 'brothers' so she shows up and of course wants him back. I didn't like that Zero wasn't forthcoming about their relationship to Rayne which of course had her questioning everything between them. Especially when he accuses her of cheating.
DNF 6% Yes, this has a fairly gruesome beginning but, honestly, it was all a bit forced and happened so fast that the writing didn’t really convey the level of angst it should have. I needed more from the setup. YMMV.
*I received this book as a gift in exchange for my honest opinion.
I really liked meeting this group of characters. Although they might be a little to much overwhelming because of all their bikes, tattoos and tough looks, they are all a bunch of softies, really. Loved how Zero took of the mission of being the president of the Houstn Defiance clubhouse and family group. That mustn't have been easy on him, because in one moment you're part of a family that loves eachother and on the very next second you see yourself alone and in charge of such a huge task. Zero is the ultimate tough bad boy. Huge body, ice features and a name that comes even first than him wherever he goes. But, every bad boy has his soft spot. For Zero is Prinie and Koda, his sister and brother. It's beacause of them that Rayne takes her place on Houston Defiance and over Zero's heart. She's also a cop's wife. And a fight with cops are the last thing that the Houston Defiance needs. Rayne is a sweet young lady. Too sweet in my opinion. She gets beat up every single day by his son of a b**tch husband and does absolutely nothing about it. Sure he is a cop and no one would believe her, but damn... She could always run away on her own and ask for help. I understand that it can be hard to make that kind of change alone, but it's that or get dead. So, since Prinie, Koda and Rayne are rescued by ths Houston's Defiance, a lot of things will go along everyone. Since the adition of new members from the Chicago Defiance, very good and awesome people, to the battle that will surely arrive at their doors. Zero will do aht he can and can't do to protect the ones he love and maybe a little more. Can't wait to read the next chapter of this amazing MC.
I’m at 25 % and I just can’t go on. The H and h have just met on page 72– of only 280 pages. I thought he was gonna go after Ruby the club girl after all the swooning h was doing. This was one dimensional and cartoonish. He did the countdown like a little kid 3,2,1, zero then he comes out fighting . It was like Batman climbing up The wall back in the day, so phony iykyk. Also Rayna is beaten daily by her husband so she is covered with n bruises plus her husband just punched her in the head and threw her into a glass coffee table and she then walked through the glasss… answers the door barely conscious and zero is thinking about how hot she is and wants to Fk her… I think a teenage boy wrote this one.
This is my first time reading this author but it won't be the last! EXPLOSIVE is the first in a new MC series by this author. I was literally BLOWN away. Great first book of a series.
This is a gritty look at the dark world of a MC. The author does a great job of letting us in to the brotherhood. Letting us see the day to day--both the partying and the bloodshed. Zero becomes the Pres at a young age but he has the determination to make his father proud.
When the club travels from Houston to Chicago to check on Zero's family, he helps his sister help her abused friend leave the husband who is hurting her. The rest of the story involves making sure Rayne is protected and can't be found.
Some great twists to the story. Rayne truly is a biker old lady at heart. She fit right in the clubhouse and her heart meshed perfectly with Zero. Great secondary characters int his club. I can't wait to read their stories as well. Loved Zero's sister and brother. I hope we get both of their books along the way.
*Complimentary copy provided for an honest review.
Explosive is definitely the perfect title for the new Houston Defiance!! Zero is fantastic as he steps into the President spot trying to live up to the expectations. Little did he know going to retrieve his sister and brother would have him finding someone who gets him for who he really is. Rayne has fire and sass and makes Zero think he might he able to move past old betrayals. When danger comes busting down their clubhouse doors the Houston Defiance will do everything to protect their family.
Great start to another series. I will admit that I had mixed feelings about the story in the beginning but, as the story progressed, it constantly surprised me.
The story was filled with a lot of emotion and heart, abuse, love, and betrayals, and a lot of sadness.
From the moment you started reading the story, it drew you right in and kept you there the entire time. Zero was a total alpha in every way but, we loved seeing a side to him that showed he was capable of love, compassion, understanding, caring, and sacrifice.
Although Zero's main goal was to put, his family back together again and bring his sister and brother back into the fold, he never suspected that he would be finding the love of his life in the process.
Rayne was a character that you could not help but love from the onset of meeting her as she was beautiful and kind and caring and strong and a survivor and one who always put her family first and even with the hell she went through she retained that beautiful spirit of hers. We also loved her spirit and sass and once she regained ground again we saw just what she was made of.
Zero was one of those characters that you love to hate but, just can't because he is overall a good guy and capable of love and compassion and yet be cruel with his words and deeds but, the difference is that he takes the blame for those things without blaming others and realizes it is his crap he needs to finally put to bed but, in the meantime is constantly hurting the women he has come to love in the process which makes you want to smack him.
Overall the story had constant drama, more than a few surprises, filled with emotion, and had a cast of eclectic characters, and some of them we are still figuring out and one of them is Zero's sister one minute she acts like women beyond her years and the next a childish brat without thought to the consequences of her actions but, we loved her sass and backbone and loved that she is no pushover and is all about protecting her family and the ones that she has chosen to take under her wing. Can't wait for the next in the series.
This was my first MC book by this author. Firstly let me just say, how much I love this cover... Holy smoke its HOT! Secondly this book was a bit tough in some places and frustrating but all in all I totally devoured it.
Zero became the club Prez when his parents were brutally gunned down in their own clubhouse after being attacked by the militia group. His sister Prinie took their little brother Koda and ran. She couldn't live like that. She ended up in Chicago where Zero had her being watched by one of the prospects. This is how we meet Rayne. One night while being an Uber driver Prinie picked up Rayne who was beaten up by her husband. Instead of taking her to the hospital, they become best friends. When Zero decided a year later that he was done waiting for his sister to come around he goes to Chicago and brings her home. Prinie however wants to say goodbye to her best friend. When Zero sees how badly Rayne is being beaten by her husband he decides to take her with him back to Houston.
From the moment they met Rayne and Zero has a connection that they can't help. The more time they spend together the more they can't deny their attraction. But Zero doesn't want to committ to Rayne as he was hurt by his ex and cant trust so easily. When Rayne is sort of put to the test when she is asked to do something for the club and she gets kidnapped he realises that he can't live without her, but will he be in time to save her and tell her how he feels.
Some parts of this book was a bit hard to read, the parts how Rayne's husband beat her was too much for. I liked Zero from the start and loved how protective he was with everyone. And even though he didn't admit it to himself he loved Rayne and you could see by his actions when he eventually came around. I definitely want to read Wrath's story. I know its going to be dark and deep, love it
Without a doubt this book held up to its name in more ways then one.
I couldn't put it down it was one of those books where your heart goes out to the victim but then as you read on that victim turns into a survivor and blooms right before your eyes. Down but not out Rayne had a fire burning in her soul flickering embers just waiting for her knight in shining armour to ride in and sweep her away , little did she know that her White Knight would ride in on a steel chrome bike and ignite those burning embers into an explosive array of fireworks.
Zero . A man who encompassed brotherhood and family, a man who watched his parents murdered right before his very eyes a man who in an instant became the next president of the Houston Defiance MC and soul carer to his sister and brother he wasn't ready but life has a way of blowing your world to pieces and making you bigger and better in more ways then you can truly imagine .
Zero's world exploded the day he met Rayne the day he helped save her from a life of cruelty and immeasurable suffering at the hands of a sadistic man who had no moral compass . He helped bring the Spark back into Raynes eyes all by letting her become who she truly was and in the end falling for her when he thought he couldn't love again.
KE Osborn never disappoints . Her writing style and characters Always brings you to the edge of your seat waiting breathlessly for the page to turn and leaving the reader gasping at the twists and turns throughout the story and leaving you emotionally charged . I not only recommend this book to every reader but her entire collection of books to date. You will not be disappointed .

*I received this book as a gift in exchange for my honest opinion.
First, I feel like I have to apologize. Why? Because where the hell have I been and why is this the first book I've read from this author? And holy hell I can't wait to grab more!
Ok, now that I've completely embarrassed myself, lets move on, and probably embarrass myself even more...Even though this is the first book in a new series, it seems as though there may be a little "crossover" from a different series this author has written. How do I know? Because I cheated. When I looked up the author (ok, maybe a little stalking), I noticed the name of a previous series that's the same as a certain mentioned MC that shows up in this one. Yeah, I feel proud of myself...whatever.
After a horrific tragedy, Zero becomes the new President of the Houston Defiance MC. Even though taking the title was always in the works, he wasn't exactly prepared for it to happen the way it did, and without the support he was hoping to have. So when the time was right, he made things right, but again, he wasn't prepared to have his life rocked again. This time by a Cherry Bomb.
Rayne is in the worst marriage ever. Not only is the husband an abusive ass, he's a cop who doesn't care about when or where he beats the hell out of her. So after getting a beating in the back ally of a restaurant and left to fend for herself, calling an Uber was her only option. Turned out to be one of the best things that could have ever happened because it literally changed her life.
There is SOOOO much going on in this book and each and every thing just pulls you that much closer and obsessed. And trust me, obsessed is the best way to describe my feelings right now with this MC. Between Zero's demons, Rayne's baggage, the MC's war and becoming creative with their business, you'll understand rather quickly what the obsession is all about. And although we're "teased" throughout this book with ideas of what the next book will entail, the epilogue will not only leave no doubt, you'll be begging for it to release ASAP!!!!
Zero is the president of the Houston Defiance MC and his job is to lead and protect the members of the club, but when he sees Rayne and the battered and bloodied state her cop husband has left her in through her daily beatings, he just feels deep rage and knows there is no way he can walk out of her house without taking her with him. It might have never been in his plans for the future, but they have an explosive connection that is both dangerous and intoxicating. They both might feel that their enemy is well known and obvious, but it appears that they both have an enemy who is much closer to home and completely unknown. Can they both survive or will it mean the destruction of them both?
OMG - this was very dramatic, deep and full of intensity as the story developed and twisted and turned its way through their lives. Every time I thought life would be back to a normal for them something unexpected would happen and throw it all into chaos again. I certainly never saw the complication near the end of the story and who was the person they could not trust. I was completely addicted to the story and found myself ignoring real-life things including sleep as I felt I had to just KNOW what has going to happen next. The ending has left so many things that can be explored going forward so that I just know the next books in the series are going to be just as addictive and unpredictable. Well written and very easy to understand. Contains a lot of sexual content and some violence.
Explosive is just that! Fast paced and full of action this spinoff Defiance series kept my attention from page 1. Zero is thrown into the presidency the same day he loses everything. Rayne’s husband abuses her daily, there is nothing she can do right. When Zero helps Rayne escape her husband he has no idea the chain of events it will start. If your looking for an action packed steamy story, look no further.
EXPLOSIVE is the first instalment in KE Osborn’s contemporary, adult HOUSTON DEFIANCE erotic, MC romance series-a spin off from the author’s Chicago Defiance MC series. This is Houston Defiance MC president Krew aka ‘Zero’ , and pharmacist Rayne ‘Cherry’ Rosenberg’s story line. The Houston Defiance MC is a spin off from the author’s Chicago Defiance MC Series-several characters cross over for cohesion and familiarity. You do not have to have read the original series to follow the current timeline.
WARNING: Due to the graphic nature of the story line content including spousal abuse, death and carnage, there may be some triggers for more sensitive readers.
Told from dual first person perspectives (Zero and Rayne) EXPLOSIVE follows in the wake of the murders of Zero’s parents, the Houston Defiance MC president Frenzy , and his old lady Moonshine. After witnessing the horror of their parents murder by the Bayou Militia, Zero’s sister Prinie takes off with their younger brother Koda, landing in Chicago where they will struggle for close to one year until Prinie approaches the last place she ever thought she would go for help. It is during that year that Prinie will meet abused housewife Rayne Rosenberg, striking up a friendship that will see both women returning to Houston when Zero discovers his sister has moved in with the Chicago MC. As Rayne begins the slow process of recovery under the care and guardianship of the Houston Defiance MC, Zero finds himself losing his heart to the woman with whom he will fall in love. What ensues is the building relationship between Zero and Rayne, and the potential fall-out as the Bayou Militia continue to threaten the Houston Defiance MC, and Rayne’s past discovers the who, how and why of Rayne’s current location.
Zero is a man who was bred and born in the Houston Defiance MC. The bikers and the Club are his family, whether by blood or affiliation but Zero is a man broken by betrayal, and in this our hero doesn’t do relationships, and struggles with his attraction to our story line heroine. A guardian at heart, Zero is all about protecting ‘Cherry bomb’ but past betrayal comes with issues of trust that threaten any happiness with a recovering Rayne. For a woman who has endured so much at the hands of her former husband, Rayne is strong in both attitude and mind. She is quick to accept everything the MC represents, and offers to work the business side of the MC, in an effort to help protect the people she is growing to love.
There is a large ensemble cast of colorful and energetic secondary and supporting characters most of whom are members of both the Chicago and Houston Defiance MC. We are introduced to Zero’s sister Kharlie aka Prinie, and their brother Koda; Club VP Wraith; Texas oil tycoon Baron; and Rayne’s ex Chuck Rosenberg. Leaving the Chicago MC, and joining the Houston MC are Chains and Chills (Dr. Rebecca), and their son Kobe, as well as prospect Luc, and his girlfriend Ruby. Wraith and Prinie’s story line is next in ADDICTIVE.
EXPLOSIVE is a story of family, friendships, relationships and love; of betrayal and vengeance, power and control; abuse and retribution; communication and trust. The premise is dramatic, gritty and raw; the romance is captivating and provocative; the characters are charismatic, spirited and intense.
If you’ve read Ms. Osborn’s Chicago Defiance MC series you know what a thrilling group of bikers make up their club. Explosive is the start to the Defiance MC, Houston Chapter and may I just say it’s starting out to be just as thrilling. The author has given us a well written outstanding storyline that gives the reader an introduction to the MC brothers and their ongoing issues with a rival MC (issues that this reader sees will be an ongoing part of the series to come). Plus the reader gets to step back into the world of the Chicago Chapter for a bit which was an awesome treat.
Explosive is nothing short of what it’s title infers. From the very start the story is full of intense action with devastating results. In one fell swoop Zero, the heir to the prez spot, loses his whole world. His parents are killed right in front of Zero and his siblings eyes, an action that causes his sister, Prinie, to take his little brother Koda and run from Houston and the MC lifestyle. With no time to grieve he comes the Prez of the Houston Chapter with an impending war on his hands. The one thing he does do is send a prospect to secretly watch over Prinie and Koda.
Prinie and Koda struggle for months. When they end up in trouble and under the roof of the Chicago Defiance MC, Zero decides it’s time to bring them home. Afterall Prinie ran from the MC life, if she can live under another chapter's roof, she can dang sure come home where Zero and his brothers can protect her. What he doesn’t count on is Prinies new BFF, Rayne. A woman who is married to a Chicago Cop and is continually being brutalized by her husband. A woman Zero can’t help but to protect when he finds her in a beat and broken state. So he brings his siblings and Rayne back to Houston.
From here the story Explodes and becomes one exciting read. Troubles come from all directions while Zero fights his attraction to the sassy, sexy married woman, Rayne, and tries to figure out who they can trust and who he can’t. 2 Thumbs Up and 5 Stars for this Must Read.
Explosive is loaded with action, suspense, heart ache, love, and a dash of humor. The story line is original and I find that the Defiance MC is unique compared to other MC books I've read. Their club treats everyone in their fold as actual members even if they're not, and it wasn't always "club business" when it came to the women being in the know. It was refreshing to see an author step away from the norm.
Zero is hot, there's no doubt about it. As the title indicates, Rayne and Zero are explosive when it comes to their chemistry. But so is all the drama that surrounds them. Zero can be a Moody d!ck, but that's a typical man. Lol. Rayne and Zero are both dealing with heavy personal issues and I think that's part of what draws their damaged souls towards each other.
This book reminded me of an over the top action film, so if you love action movies you will love this book! There was a lot going on. Honestly, sometimes I felt overwhelmed making it hard to concentrate, it was making my head spin. Every time I was getting drawn into the story it would pull into a different direction of drama. But I think this was the authors way of showing how much pressure was on Zero and also the other members.
Overall I liked the book and most of the characters have me intrigued. I am interested in knowing what was going on with Wraith and Princess, so I'm dying for the next book to find out what went down and what's to come!!!
With main protagonists Zero and Ryane us readers are pulled straight into their lives from the very beginning is this action packed story, both are dealing with some very emotional, heartbreaking situations.
Zero (Krew) has had to step into the role of President of the Houston Defiance MC, the role his dad has groomed him for, he thought he had plenty of time but after the murder of both his parents and the fact that his younger sister Prinie has taken their younger brother and left the MC, that time has come sooner than expected.
In the year that follows the death of his parents Zero has been doing a lot to make things safer so that his sister will feel comfortable enough to come home with their brother. They may have been away for a year but Zero’s had eyes on them the whole time, and now they are actually living in the Chicago Defiance clubhouse Zero decides it time to get his family back.
Before leaving Chicago, Prinie wants to say goodbye to Rayne, the woman who’s become a very good friend to her over the past year, Zero decides to go with her especially after hearing about Rayne’s violent husband, when they walk into Rayne’s house seeing it’s destroyed and that she’s beaten to a pulp Zero knows he can’t leave Rayne behind and takes her home with them.
What follows next is a load of twist and turns that will keep you on the edge of your seat waiting to see what’s going to happen. There’s an instant attraction between Zero and Rayne but in order for them to become something more they both have to come terms with their pasts. Will they be able to overcome the odds or will they lose everything when their pasts come back to haunt them with vengeance? Read this amazing five star read to see if they’ll be able to survive when all’s said and done.
Zero finds himself as the President of the Houston Defiance MC under the worst of circumstances as not only did he lose his parents but his siblings are so shaken by the events that they feel their only option is to leave the MC and town. He has decided that it is time to bring them back into the fold, but he never expected that it would include Rayne as well.
Rayne finds herself in a dangerous situation where she fears the one man she should be able to trust and she isn’t sure how to escape. She has become close to Zero’s sister so when Zero finds learns about her life she finds herself returning with him to the MC.
They are drawn to each other in a way that was unexpected as the feelings they have for each other are unlike anything they have felt before. Rayne’s strength and resilience shines through while Zero shows the protective man that he truly is and there is no denying the chemistry between them. Their journey wasn’t without its obstacles but there is no doubting they are much stronger together than apart.
Arriving at the right time to allow for a escape with this series. The book matches the title just saying as a bit of warning so sit back when you delve into this gem. This starts out leaving us breathless waiting to see how he takes care of Rayne. The odds that are faced are there but when determined can be handled. Zero has handled alot already but I think it is to prepare for now and what he will do whatever to keep. The chemistry alone is above the charts but that doesn't stop you from turning the pages. Personal goes so much deeper and cuts when someone tries to take away or harm in any way. This is a ride you hold on tight or you could get burned but oh so good.
Zero is the new president of Houston Defiance MC due to his father being killed and his siblings have left town. He finds Rayne beaten and bloody, both of their lives will be changed forever. Rayne is on the run from an abusive ex and always looking over her shoulder for trouble. She's been through so much but she isn't broken mentally by it. Zero likes her sassy attitude and knows he can't let her get away. A great read and good start to the series.
Another winning series is about to kick of - The Houston Defiance MC is going to be the series that series MC romance fans won't want to miss!
K L Osborn’s Explosive is as the meaning suggests - It's Dangerous and Violent as all great 1% MC romances should be! Could be potentially hazardous to your eyes (once started you won’t want to put it down). And most importantly the relationship between Zero and Rayne is just as dangerous and hazardous.
This author doesn’t hold back in her stories which I love. But throughout all the criminal activities the club take part in (a little bit of Breaking Bad in this book) I come away each time I read one of K L Osborn’s book’s still with the ‘Swoon’ factor and a smile on my face looking forward to what possibly could come next.
First up in the series is Zero the President of the MC and I think it was fitting to start with him. When his parents are killed Zero has to step up as president but his younger sister and brother want nothing from the MC life it has taken to much so Prinie takes her brother Koda and leave the club house behind. 1 year or so later and it is now time for Prinie and Koda to come home but she has made a friend Rayne who is being abused by her husband but because of how powerful he is she can't leave.
Raynes only light is her friendship with Prinie. Not wanting to leave Rayne behind Prinie persuades Zero to take her with them. Not a problem as the sparks are flying around these to from the beginning but Zero doesn't trust easily and his heart has been broken once.
Join, Zero, Rayne and the crew for the Explosive start to what promises to be a great series!
Three, Two One....Zero Explosive is book 1 in the new Houston Defiance MC series. I read a lot of MC series and I loved that this was a full book and not just a 60-90mon read like a lot of others. The length of the book was great as we got an in depth look into the characters background and the storyline was able to be detailed and not rushed like some other MC series.
From the moment you started reading this book you are pulled right in, It was a well written storyline about Zero who became the Pres after his mum and dad (old Pres) were killed in front of Zero and his 2 siblings. The club treats everyone associated with the club as members and being under their protection. Zero and Rayner are both broken in different ways from previous relationships and they're able to come together as they both overcome their past relationship traumas.
This was an action packed dram read and I can't wait to read more in this series as they are released.
DNF.... Literally couldn't get passed the 1st or 2nd chapter. The audiobook narration was also not great.
So, the president of the MC & his wife are murdered in their club house when a rival gang attacked them. They were killed infront of their kids, who are part of the MC. So now the VP, who is the oldest son, is now pres. The bad guys are chased away, killed blah blah blah. Here's where it goes down hill. The lack of emotion or reaction about his parents, the leader of this MC & his wife, was disturbing. No emotion at all. Just, ok. Well I'm president & let's handle this. It was very robotic & generic. Didn't care for it.

Spoiler Alert I liked the story but I had a real problem with the abuse aspect of it. Anybody that has been abused to that extent isn't ready to trust and hop right into another relationship. I know it's a fictional story but I felt that part was very unrealistic.
