High Fae Academy - Year One: A Fated Mates Fae Paranormal Romance Kindle Edition
I was happy living my simple human life, but—as a Halfling—I can only pretend to be normal for so long. I never had any interest in attending the High Fae Academy for Gifted Supernaturals, but avoidance can only get you so far when you possess the ability to control all five of the earth's elements. I've discovered that I'm destined to end the longest fae war in history, and in order to do that I'm required to train with each of the insufferable academy masters.
Learning about my magic only brings me closer to my potential mate—which, in turn, riddles me with confusion. Especially when each facet of my magic draws me to a specific man—to the element’s perfect match. I’m about to set off on a dangerous and sexy ride that is supposed to bring peace to a war-ravaged world all while maintaining a decent grade point average.
No pressure, right? Wrong.

About the author

Kaylin Peyerk is the creator of strong fantasy heroines and the men who love them. When she's not crouched over the computer like a gremlin, you can find her curled up in a nest of blankets with a well-loved book, her two corgis Link & Gannon, and a steaming cup of hot cocoa...

- Reviewed in Australia on 27 January 2020Verified PurchaseThis first book of the series is a definite must read.
The characters draw you in and hold you captive, the realm they live in is beautifully brought to life and the story line is captivating.
I would highly recommend this to all Fae or Academy Romance lovers.

[I received this book free from the author in exchange for and honest review.]
Kaylin Peyerk is a new author for me, and boy am I glad to have discovered her. This book from the start reels you in and has you devouring it within hours. The book itself is a paranormal book based in the realm of the fae. Tiana the main character is half human and half fae who wants nothing to do with the magic she possesses, she is quite happy living her human life and suppressing her powers until she meets Odin. Odin is one of the five fae princes you meet throughout the book alongside him is Lucian, Adrian, Rai and Damon. Tiana is inexplicably drawn to the men and the slow burning chemistry she has between them is palpable. Tiana is a strong, kickass female lead who has strong opinions and an even stronger will and the author takes you on the journey she is going through in a seamless way.
The book is a great segway into what I’m sure is going to be an amazing series. The author has developed characters in a way that is individual, and they all have their own personalities that shine through. The fae princes each have a specialty element, and each have a hand in helping Tiana tame her previously concealed powers. Overall this book is a great, easy to read paranormal romance novel that I am excited to see continue, if you don’t like cliff hangers than this book will leave you disappointed, however this left me wanting to devour the next book.

- Reviewed in Australia on 10 February 2021Verified PurchaseI really enjoyed this book, it’s got a great storyline and well thought out characters.
It’s well written with lots of detail, love the twists along the way especially the cliff hanger ending.
Off to read book2 now 😬
- Reviewed in Australia on 18 October 2020Verified PurchaseHowever "I was raised human...The violence of the fae is shocking...." I realise this is fictional but this section was really inappropriate to the plot. Read human and religious history before making holier than thou comments.
- Reviewed in Australia on 23 January 2021I could not get enough of this book. From the beginning until the end, I couldn't put it down.
I desperately need the next book.
A definite must read for any paranormal lover.

- Reviewed in Australia on 10 March 2020Verified PurchaseI had high-ish hopes for this as the premise sounded pretty good. However the protagonist was so freaking annoying, and the ‘Kings’ surrounding her weren’t much better. The only character I liked was Rowan.
2.5 stars ⭐️
- Reviewed in Australia on 25 November 2019High Fae Academy was an enjoyable read looking at Tiana and her harem of merry Fae. Tiana has the chance to go to high Fae Academy when she is recruited by Odin due to her having the power of the five elements. But not everything is what it seems at the academy and Tiana must come to grips with accepting her powers, finding a true mate and maybe losing herself in the process.
There are certainly a lot of characters in this book, some who you get to know really well and some who I am assuming we will get to know more about in the next book. Tiana overall is a sassy and strong character who is thrown into a world that she doesn’t necessarily understand and is asked to fight in a war that she has no real knowledge of. There are some steamy moments in the books between Tiana and the other male characters and it will be interesting to see not only where those characters end up in relationship to Tiana and her fight but also with the twist in the middle and how that will impact her having a relationship. (Sorry, no spoilers).
This book does end on a cliff-hanger, so you’re going to be left guessing for a little while!
ARC received for a fair and honest review.
- Reviewed in Australia on 4 June 2022Verified Purchase5 Fae masters all wanting a piece of this girl, all needing her but being such gentlemen and not touching, a girl just beginning to find out who she is and what she means to these strong men. A very good read I can't wait to read more 🥰

5.0 out of 5 stars So many feels!
Verified PurchaseTiana is my spirit animal. The bit before going to the academy could have been longer. But really liked her display of snarky magic. Loved the first 3 days of her at the academy. I felt like the time at the academy was actually longer than it was before the competition started. It seemed to start fairly early in the year. But makes since it only happens when Spirit King is on campus. But still.
Loved the interaction she had with the males. The tension she felt. The trainings they had. When she broke the sound barrier. I literally LOL'd. Such a great scene.
I love how she feels about the war, the killing, and the deaths. And that she is determined to halt the killing and the war. The ending makes sense to that coming true. But seriously how that happened and that cliff hanger ending. Ah!
My star breakdown:
Transition into the academy 4 stars
Magical training 5 stars
Male interaction 5 Stars
Sexy males 5 stars
Sexual tension 5 stars
Queen bee 3 stars. I wanted more+
Snarky heroine 5 stars
Badass heroine 5 stars

4.0 out of 5 stars Decent read.
Verified PurchaseI enjoyed this book. The characters were interesting, even if the heroine frustrated me at times, and the world was fascinating. I hate that it left off at a cliffhanger, but that’s par for the course. I can’t wait to read the next addition in the series.
