As a single mom, I’m not looking for Prince Charming. The last time I fell for a handsome, sophisticated, wealthy guy, he left me at the worst possible time without a look backward or even a word of explanation.

    A royal, second chance, small town, single mother, secret baby romance?..... "THE BABY AND THE BLUEBLOOD" is the retelling of Cinderella complete with wicked stepmother, spoiled step sisters and handsome prince that has to take a bride.

    The thing I liked most about this romance was that Alex and Cinda’s love for one another endured while they were apart. The problem had been misunderstandings and miscommunication that prevented Cinda from letting Alex know he was going to be a father.
    Once he convinces her to clean his huge home on the island just as a hurricane is about to make landfall.. they finally reconnect, except Cinda holds back some very Important info ... yet Alex is just as Guilty by not speaking up either........but when they return to Eastport THEY both come face to face with their deceits (so to speak)..........I had tears in my eyes when AL made a comment and Cinda broke down crying from the huge wall she had put up for herself .... Love how Kristal comes to her aid and helps her like the Good "Fairy Godmother" would do and gets her to the ball ....
    Clearing up an arranged marriage and a meddling father needed to come to pass in order for Alex, Cinda and AJ to become a family. A heart warming finish!

    I really enjoyed The Baby and the Blueblood. A modern take on Cinderella it was a good read.

    Set over a fairly short span of time, I got why Cinda reacted the way she did to the arrival and presence of Alex when she met him again after the years apart. Both had hurt feelings and acted out of character but it made for fun reading. When they did get together they were just as compatible as they were when they were younger, maybe more so given they were a little older and wiser.

    Some family angst, a little lack of full truths and misunderstandings looked to throw a number of spanner’s in the works for this pair and you had to wonder if they’d manage a future together……

    I’m looking forward to the next instalment, especially after being introduced to the main characters at the end of TBatB….. Book four is gonna be interesting, that’s for sure!!!!

    Being a 100% Brit I absolutley hate, detest, abhore and loath love stories about Royalty. We all know they are simply not romantic in real life with the exception of Victoria and Albert. I really thought when I read the meme for this book that it said the Wessex family were considered royalty amongst their peer group. So I got into this book and was immediately disappointed when the main male character was referred to as " Your Royal Highness" 😫 ugh!! I was not taken at all with the story. Prince's do not impress me and I don't find them at all romantic.
