There are few things people know about me.

I'm Scottish.
I really hate pants.
And Poodle is me best friend.

But.
There are always buts.

There is one thing people don't know.
Me love for fightin'.
I come from a long line of fighters.
I live it.
I breathe it.
Flesh.
Blood
And brass knuckles.

It's me way of life.
So I fight, legally. No one knows.
I wanted to keep it a secret, but MC life exposes everyone's secrets.

One secret?

There's a woman I have me eye on. A woman who's off limits.
She's an opponent's girl. A rival. An Irish bloke who comes from a powerful family.
He isn't abusive in just the ring, but to her too.
Bruises litter her beautiful face.
She doesn't give me the time of day.
Until she is dumped on the side of the desert road.

She's mine now.

Fuck her boyfriend's power.
I'll kill him.

For her.

I really like Skirt. I mean it. I never thought a man with a kilt can be so sexy in MC world. He is such a sweatheart under all of that rough texture. He is also funny.

Miss Savage done a good job giving us Skirt. Dawn is also kick ass heroine. She takes no prisoner and she kicked back when got pushed. The story is not that gritty. There are some trigger elements here. So beware to sensitive reader.

I am curious with the rest of the books in the series. Looking forward to pick another up.

This story stunned me stupid. That’s the best way I can say it. I’ve read this series from word one and I knew in my head that Skirt would probably / more than likely be very consuming on a much deeper level than just sexual, but I didn’t expect this. I cried a lot you guys! At the same time, this story held the same level of drama and action we are used to seeing from this series. I don’t want to focus too much on my emotional upheaval while reading this book because I’d have to give away some major plot points and I’m never about that LOL You’ll have to trust me when I tell you this one will sit in your heart for a while …

Skirt delivered on everything I look for in a MC story. MC stories are never just about a HEA, sometimes you don’t even get one, they’re about the club. They’re about the brotherhood and sometimes sisterhood that drives them. It’s been a while since I’ve been this invested in a club and I am super happy that this author writes these stories very quickly! I am hooked on her style and voice. She is writing an exceptional deliciously dirty, gritty and emotional MC series.

Between Skirt’s past and Dawn’s present there is a lot to process in this book and none of it is rushed or pushed away in the story. Both the club and Skirt & Dawn have a pretty intense ride throughout this book and the thrill begins with page one and continues thru until the end. If you’re a reader of MC romances, this is a great series for you to be reading. This last thing is probably unnecessary, but I’ll say it anyway … this is not a standalone ! Okay, that’s it. Go #oneclick!

Skirt has only been a member a few years. When his brother died in the ring during a fight by a low blow and his Ma was so tore up that she was saying some horrible things he took off and left home. That's when he met someone in the MC and joined. He does not wear a skirt but instead a kilt. Something he took after his brother. Skirt does like to fight also and brass knuckles are his thing.

Dawson or Dawn to her friends is in a toxic relationship with a man on the fighting circuit. If he isn't hitting someone in the ring then he is hitting her. She only takes it because of her four year old son. She doesn't want her son to get hurt. The man is controlling.

After he beats her so bad and throws her out of a car expecting her to crawl home, she falls and passes out in the road just as Skirt is driving by and almost hits her. For him it's love at first sight. Problem is they have to find her son.

There are two new MC's on the outskirts of town and one has a reputation of being involved in sex trafficking of both adults and mostly children. Seems her ex is not done with her yet and needs help getting her away from the Ruthless Kings.

So many twist and turns and a few great surprises.

Skirt by KL Savage was my first book by this author and it will not be my last! From beginning to end, I was completely captivated by the Ruthless Kings MC World. The story is intense, epic, dangerous and thrilling! Although the subject matter was dark at times I was impressed by the authors ability to bring laughter and humor in at the right times. After the loss of his brother, Skirt finds a home and a family amongst the Ruthless Kings MC Members. He is a fighter in a kilt and set on avenging his brother’s death.

Dawn has been emotionally and physically abused by her ex, Cohen. Cohen has taken her son and left her beaten and bruised and left for dead on the side of the road. From their first encounter Skirt is immediately drawn to her and doesn't leave her side! Their attraction and chemistry was STRONG right from the beginning. Despite all she has been through she is a fighter and will stop at nothing to get her son back.

Listening to this book in audio was INCREDIBLE! Right from the prologue I was captivated by Joe's voice. His Scottish brogue was perfection and his emotional delivery of his character was so well done. The way he transitions accents from Scottish to English and even Italian at one point! WOW!! Such incredible talent! Pippa Jayne's portrayal of Dawn's character blew me away as well. Her voice portrayed Dawn's fierce and determined nature fabulously. The two together were FANTASTIC bringing this story to life!

Had it not been for the heroine, I would have kept reading because I liked the hero - at least what I read of him in the beginning. My issue with this book is the heroine seemed more interested in fucking the hero than getting her son back. I’d be fucking inconsolable but she’s too busy jumping into bed with the hero to care her son is in the clutches of a child sex trafficking villain. Seriously? What the ever living fuck???? 🤬🤬🤬

This is another fantastic book in the series, though the plot for this one wasn’t quite as satisfying for me as the previous books. There were a few too many “coincidences” that required too much of a suspension of disbelief, particularly with the way that the twists were carried out.
I wasn’t as crazy about Skirt as a hero as I’ve been with the others in this series. Boomer and Reaper are my favourites, but I did like Tool and Poodle quite a bit. Skirt was a tad boring in my opinion. That said, I did like Dawn, and now that I’ve grown to expect the female protagonists to have less character development and backstory, I didn’t mind that we don’t get to find out anything about her past, aside from her relationship with her abusive ex.
This is a 3.5 star read, bumped up because it’s fast-paced and fun.

argh, i loved Skirt! but not freaking Dawn!!!!!!!!!!!
Over all the book i kept hating on her, i hate that the Author chose her as Skirt's partner , it's not fairrr :(

I was even giving more stars until that fucking epilogue, that killed the book once and for all. Really? was that necessary ?Also what it's with all this girls? hornier than the damn bikers?

Now, i'm not sure if i will enjoy next books, i really though we will get better, but no :(
I was so annoyedddd, i hate when they have kids with OM/OW but that damn twist? and Dawn ugly character? i couldn't stand it, i skipped a lot of parts .

I have been dying to understand Skirt for so long. What KL Savage gives us in his story is something so raw and heartbreaking that you cannot help but want to comfort Skirt. He is gruff, but playful. He is tortured, but seeking redemption. When Dawn enters the picture, things are so intense. Like a mind blowing intense that will keep you on your toes, your mind spinning and kinda wanting Skirt for yourself. Seeing in the mind of Skirt is beyond fiery and raw. But having Dawn match him toe to toe is just absolutely everything. There are so many twists and turns that will keep you fully engaged. The passion between these two though! It is raw, it is all encompassing. It is something that will just leave you speechless. Leading up to Skirt’s story, I never expected the fun going guy in a kilt all the time would have so many demons that would haunt him. But the culmination of this story will blow you away. Especially the last few chapters. I can honestly say, the love between Skirt and Dawn is timeless! I am really looking forward to seeing who is next! Can it be Tongue? I need to see a woman bring that boy to his knees!

It was good until the girl showed up. The melodrama was unbelievable. And I’m all for insta-love, but hours after she wakes up from being beaten and abused she can see falling for this guy? Ya. No. Kind of ridiculous. And Skirt was a really good character, too.

SKIRT is the fifth full-length instalment in KL Savage’s contemporary, adult RUTHLESS KINGS erotic, MC, romance series focusing on the Ruthless Kings MC this is Ruthless Kings MC member Rohan ‘Skirt’ Blackwood, and single mother, Dawson ‘Dawn’ West’s story line. SKIRT can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.

WARNING: Due to the nature of the story line premise including graphic violence and sexual assault, there may be some triggers for more sensitive readers.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Dawn and Skirt) SKIRT follows the building romance and relationship between Ruthless Kings MC member Rohan ‘Skirt’ Blackwood, and single mother, Dawson ‘Dawn’ West. The day Rohan ‘Skirt’ Blackwood found a beaten and bloodied woman at the side of the road, Skirt’s life changed forever. Dawn West only knew that she had to get back to her son, a young boy who was currently in the custody of a killer and fighting machine. As the Ruthless Kings MC set out to locate the missing child, Skirt quickly discovers that Dawn is the old lady he wants to claim for himself. What ensues is the building relationship between Dawn and Skirt, and the potential fall-out as Dawn and her son become collateral damage in a child-trafficking ring.

Rohan Blackwood has struggled since the death of his brother five years earlier, avenging death the to man responsible for taking his life. A former MMA fighter, Rohan’s brother was killed in the ring, and in the ensuing years Skirt takes on fighters in an effort to prepare for the inevitable when he finds the man that killed his brother. Dawn West knows that to save her son she may have to sacrifice her life for his own but Dawn had no idea how close Skirt was to sacrificing for them all.

The relationship between Dawn and Skirt is one of immediate attraction with similar likes and dislikes as it pertained to the kinkier side of their bedroom antics. For a woman used and abused by a killer ex, Dawn is quick to hit and punch, regardless of whomever gets in her way including the man with whom she will fall in love. The $ex scenes are intimate, aggressive, erotic and intense with some scenes of voyeurism and exhibitionism.

There is a large ensemble cast of colorful and familiar secondary and supporting characters many of whom we have met in the previous instalments including several members of the Ruthless Kings MC: Reaper and Sarah, Poodle and Melissa and their daughter Ellie, Tool, Tongue, Doc, Badge, Bullseye and Braveheart. The requisite evil has many faces.

SKIRT is a story of abuse and violence; family and relationships; betrayal, vengeance, acceptance and love. The premise is dark, raw and gritty; the romance is energetic and erotic; the characters are wounded, lively and damaged. There is a bit of a twist to the story line premise-be prepared.

A Ruthless King finds his perfect mate! Debra @Janise’s Jivin’ Book Blog

I am loving this series so much. It has some of the most flawed males I have read that were the “good” guys ever. Even the lead females can kick some serious butt. It takes strong women to handle these men and their past. I think that is why I love this series so much.

These men have in most cases truly tragic pasts that have made them the men they are and it is due to the women that they make as much peace with it as they can. They accept them and love them as they are.

Skirts story is one that is actually full of a few surprises and it made me enjoy it so much. When he crosses paths with Dawn it is like a lightning strike to the heart for him and he falls hard for her spunk and fight and the fact that she gets him and even has a few of his traits.

Dawn is not in a good place when she meets Skirt but she trusts him quickly which is surprising to her. Meeting the Ruthless Kings is a surprise for her and she finds her fighting spirit and strength because Skirt accepts that in her and even encourages it in her. She fits him and the Ruthless Kings in her own unique way.

We get to meet some old friends and some new ones and our MC is ready to fight for those not able to fight for themselves. I enjoy so much our Ruthless Kings family and each person that gets added to it is just one more person that shows that sometimes when you do bad things it is for a good cause.

I understand how a mountain top waterfall feels, the jagged pieces of these two tore me apart and like a waterfall, they are forced down but it would be foolish to count them out.

The theme of these two is FIGHT. It's all they know. You think of it they have fought for or through it.

I am in awe of Dawson aka Dawn. I can't give too much away but she deserves your respect. This woman has taken on He** and has the battle scars to prove it.

Skirt is like a birthday surprise, you don't know what's coming but you are excited to unwrap him. It's more than the accent or kilt. His secret makes him so sexy. Yet, he also is living in a shadow with worded battle scars he's run away from.

I can't believe how each book in this series is tattooed into my head. These men in the Ruthless Kings deserve a bow down for all they do to protect those they are devoted to. I received an ARC for an honest and voluntary review.

••mild spoilers included in the following review

I loved Skirt, but gosh, Dawn made me wanna dnf this book atleast a handful number of times. It started off so well, letting us know about Skirt's past which shaped him and made him the man he is now. But it started going downhill after Dawn came in. I will be lying if I say that she didn't get on my nerves with how bratty she is. There's a scene where Skirt looks out for her and doesn't want her to go watch his fight for fear that she might suddenly encounter her ex there, knowing that she isn't ready for that yet. And yeah, Dawn is still really scared of him but she stubbornly insists to go to the fight even though she knows that he'll be worrying about her throughout the fight.

And what the heck is it with every female lead in this series getting kidnapped towards the end?

I skipped dozens of pages in between because the plot didn't interest me any longer and even that one star I gave is because I liked Skirt. But other than that, nothing interested me in this book.

The books are becoming less and less exciting after Tool's story, and I wish the series would redeem itself from Pirate's book because I have huge expectations for Pirate and Tongue's stories.

And the author gives us updates about Sarah's condition in each book since Reaper's Rise but there's no mention about other ol' ladies. I want to know about them too (!)

I have long been a fan of this series and I’ve loved all of the books . I think each one gets better then that last . Skirt is a Scottish member of the Ruthless Savages MC . Throughout the series we have seen him wear a kilt with no underwear. This has made for some interesting memories when skirt bends over . I always thought the kilt was because of his Scottish culture but in this book we find out that Skirt had a brother who wore kilts and in tribute to him Skirt started doing the same . Skirt finds a woman who is beaten out in the desert . Dawn has been trapped with a monster for years . He beats and abuses her and she can’t leave until he throws her beaten body out in the desert . Skirt and Dawn have sparks right off and he is determined to save her . Each character in this series is unique and some of the best character building that I’ve ever read .These bikers are tough on the outside but gooey on the inside . Dawn was a feisty heroine and she was rather violent with Skirt. This turned them both on and made for some very smexy sexy scenes . KL has hit it out of the park with this entire series and Skirt was no exception . I can’t wait to read anything this woman writes !

I have read this series from the prequel and each book just gets better and better. I have been impatiently waiting for Skirts story, I mean a hot tattooed biker in a kilt? Have mercy! And did I mention he’s a cage fighter? Whew! This story did not disappoint with just enough Mc drama, couple drama, backstory and steam that I was up way to late turning pages. You could read this as a standalone but you’ll enjoy it more if you start with the prequel ( which last I knew was free in her website!)

"It isn't death that is hard. It's living because finding peace in life seems nearly impossible. "

Rohan and Dawn's story was just P-E-R-F-E-C-T! It was raw, emotional, twisted, bloody and steamy! I absolutely loved it!

P.S. The cover is just spot-on! Matches perfectly Skirt's description.

This is how a scot may say it: “A'm lou'in this book sae pumpin' muckle” (translation: I am loving this book so f*cking much)

This whole series has been an incredible journey so far.

Skirt, Scottish, hates pants, loves fightin´, and is hell bend on revenge, fighting his way through the ring and finding the man responsible for killing his brother, a former MMA fighter.

I loved Dawn's sass and she truly is a fighter in her own right taking no bullsh*t from anyone. She is not afraid to give as good as she gets and fights like a lioness for the ones she loves, even more so being a victim of physical abuse.

Skirt and Dawn are quickly drawn to each other and even though Dawn´s experiences causing her triggers in relations to sex, she soon feels save with Skirt and oh boy do they get up to all sorts of sexy kinky erotic antics.

Although Skirts story is emotional, raw and has parts of violence, it has funny parts too. I found myself cracking up a few times. Without giving too much away there are scenes involving a cactus, women fighting and the expression “Zoom zoom bitches” had me chuckling away. When you read/listen to the book you will understand 😉

So, wow, another captivating intense emotional story by KL Savage. Every book so far swallowed me whole with intrigue and spit me out an emotional mess. The underlying topic here really got to me as well as unfortunately there is truth to it. It is a story of domestic abuse, trafficking and violence but at the same time, it is about family, redemption, acceptance, and love. There is a sweet twist at the end, so have tissues close by.

One character I really loathed is Dawn´s ex-boyfriend but this again shows how good the writing and narration is.

Pippa Jayne & Joe Arden did such an amazing job, all these accents, all these different characters, the change of male to female and female to male – INCREDIBLE!!!

I mean I love accents, specially the Scottish and the Irish, so listening to hours of Joe narrating with this accent was everything.

Also, special props to Pippa´s performance of Dawn´s Ex, crept me the hell out it was so intense and had the needed effect. Also, Joe´s Italian accent of one of the characters was so good, he sounded completely different, so foreign, so well done. Just an incredible audio performance by both.

Skirt is book 5 in the Ruthless King series by K.L. Savage and boy is it a scorcher! If you’ve read previous books in this series you would have been introduced to the slightly eccentric Rohan ‘Skirt’ Blackwood. Skirt is originally from Scotland and after the tragic death of his brother, he is out for blood. Enter, Dawson ‘Dawn’ West, a woman who has been abused and left for dead in the desert. Through sheer chance, or rather luck, Skirt literally crashes into Dawn and their stories become interwoven, especially when Skirt finds out that Dawn has a connection to his brothers’ killer!

I loved this story from the first page until the very last. Skirt, although part of an MC has such a sweet vulnerability to him that your soul literally hurts reading his story and his obsession on finding justice for his brother as well as Dawn. He is a strong protector of Dawn, but also has a dark and ruthless side that only she can bring out. He is certainly a one-woman man and boy does he dote on Dawn throughout the book, even when she is literally throwing punches his way.

Dawn on the other hand has been through her own trials and tribulations. She is strong and feisty and is willing to do anything to get her child back. I also love that she doesn’t put up with any crap from the club changerounds and stands her ground when she comes up against her worst nightmare. I also loved the banter that went on between these two characters as well as seeing characters from previous books and more about their stories.

This is a series that I am going to continue to read, because it is fabulous. They have fabulous stories and fabulous characters who will do anything for each other, but also hold each other accountable. If you’re not reading K.L. Savage’s Ruthless Knights series, then you need to start now!

How do you do it K.L Savage? How do you manage to write 5 such heart wrenching, gut twisting beautiful stories; set in the back drop of 'The Ruthless Kings MC' a hard brutal MC where each member has such a painful story to tell you are left wondering how you can top the next story with the one you have just read.

Skirt (Rohan) is my Jamie from Outlanders right down to his red hair; broad shoulders and wearing nothing under his kilt! But Skirt who came to the MC 5 years previously has a secret that he has told nobody apart from Poodle Poodle. Since the moment Skirts brother a cage fighter was killed back in Scotland and his Ma wanted nothing to do with him Skirts one aim is to train hard enough and fight long enough to meet and kill the man that took his brother away from him too soon.

That's not the only secret Skirt has but that is for you to read about — when a woman stumbles on to the road he is driving along half dead, Skirt knows from the moment that he looks into her eyes this is the woman for him and he will do everything he can to protect her.

Dawn wakes up in the Ruthless Kings MC not knowing how she got there only that she needs to find her son and the monster of an ex who throw her out of his van and took of with her son.

The MC promise to help her but she only feels safe around Skirt there is something about him that calms her but nothing will be right until she gets her son back!

Can the MC find Dawns son in time — what other secrets are about to be exposed and will Skirt ever get the chance to avenge his brother death!

I am so obsessed with this series!!! The Ruthless Kings are full of amazing men who protect women and children at all costs (which is a rare find in MC romances) and love their women something fierce!

This book deals with Skirt, who is still feeling from the loss of his brother. While out on run, he nearly runs over something in the road, and it turns out to be the most beautiful woman he's ever seen -- even if she is badly bruised. It turns out Dawn is the key to getting his vengeance, and with her own son being used as a pawn in a horrifying way, can these two trust one another long enough to get what they both want? Or will their firey passion be too much to contain?

I have adored Skirt from the start of this series, and I love him even more now! He is such a sweet man, and I adore the fact that he was a virgin! There was an Insta love aspect, but it definitely worked here!

Dawn is a ferocious lady who will stop at nothing to protect her son. She's been abused by the hands of a man who claimed to love her, so she's definitely untrusting of these gruff biker men, but who can resist these softies?! And the HEAT these two bring-- HOT DAYUMM.🔥🔥

I so hope a certain storyline works out for Sara and Reaper too! They deserve all the happiness!!

I can't wait for the next book!!! I'm completely captivated by these men!!

**I received an ARC of this book and these are my honest opinions!**

Wow! Skirt by KL Savages was an intense, epic, thrill ride. Narrated by Joe Arden and Pippa Jayne. This story did not disappoint and had me hooked from the start.

This is book 5 in the Ruthless Kings MC series. I honestly hadn't ready or listened to any of them, but one of great book friends recommended, plus I love anything that Joe Arden narrates. Skirt and Dawn have a quick whirlwind of a romance to say the least. Skirt find Dawn on the side of the road desperately needing to get back to her son. Skirt finds himself drawn to Dawn and knows instantly that he will help Dawn with anything. However, when Skirt pieces key pieces of the puzzle together, he knows he will do anything achieve vengeance from leave his past behind.

Joe Arden and Pippa Jayne are amazing in this book . I hadn't listened to Pippa much before, and her portrayal of Dawn's determination was on point! Joe Arden's Scottish accent was EPIC! I had heard it before in other books, but his ability to hold it and convey it through the whole book really helped present Skirt as an unbelievably daring and powerful character! His ability to switch back and forth to so many other accents in this book, shows how talented he is!

Overall I loved everything about this book. The story was captivating, and I loved all the rich histories with each character. This may have been my first K.L. Savage read/ listen, but it will not be my last!

This series is always such a surprise to readers. We go in thinking one thing and BAM! The author gives us twists and feels that we weren't expecting. This is the 5th book in the series and you would do well to read the previous books. Not necessary but you would have a better sense of how the MC operates and the the roles and personalities of the officers.

Skirt literally stumbles upon Dawn falling down on the roadway. She had been badly injured. The story that unfolds is about the pain of a young mother put up against a sone who never thought himself worthy.

Dawn and Skirt/Rohan complement each other. They both need to feel something emotionally in order to connect with another person. In this case, fighting has become and integral part of their lives. I loved how Skirt gave her space but then pulled her in to a 'fight' when they were intimate. He gave her power that she never had before.

Great MC series all around. Each book gets better and better. Now, I'm not so sure about Pirate. that man has issues. We'll see what the author dishes up next.

This is the 5th book in this amazing series and is Skirt and Dawn’s story. Skirt is a sexy Scottish biker who is Poodle’s best friend, and he is a tortured soul with a tragic past, and he is all out for revenge against the man who killed his brother. Dawn is feisty and strong and has made some bad choices along the way, but when she is kicked out of a moving van by the man who has her son, Skirt has to avoid hitting her lying on the road and crashes his bike. Will Skirt get the redemption he seeks, and get Dawn’s son back? This is a well written flawless story which is raw, gritty, and with emotion, twists, secrets, and love. I was captivated throughout this addictive page turner and look forward to reading more from this author whose work I highly recommend for all.

Gotta love a man with an accent and a kilt, right? Skirt has been waiting for the right girl to come along to give his all to, and she comes in a very fiesty package. They both have similar desires, too, so that's fun! Dawn takes no crap from anyone, but her sass and grit is needed. The action part of this book is so sad-and at times things can get pretty bloody. No worries, though. The Ruthless Kings ALWAYS prevail in the battle of good vs evil. There's a surprise twist along the way and the end is awesome.

Skirt was sweet and adorable but also kinda scary when he's fighting. Now I'm just left wondering who we get next!

Skirt might not be my favorite Ruthless King but his story was a nice one! Him and Dawn are about to go through hell and back until they can get their HEA.

I never thought that Skirt had this backstory. He’s the jokester of the club, so for him to have so much anger was a surprise.

This book like the previous ones is full of sexy times (in this one are hotter!), an underlying threat and ultimately another brother losing his heart!!!

It's great to finally understand where Skirt is coming from, most don't see the underlying pain from losing his brother that turns him into the person he becomes in the ring readying himself for the day he can end his brothers killer.
Fate has plans for him when Dawn lands in his path, literally, and he comes even closer to get his revenge.

This story is emotional, action packed, has a nice twist at the end and I love how the characters mesh together, I know Pirate's story is next but I can't wait for Tongue, he surpasses himself in this book.

OMGooodness! This was a fantastic book. I have loved every book in this series so far. Skirt and Dawn make an awesome couple. The chemistry is off the charts. The author has bound them together in ways that no one could see coming. I hope the next installment will focus on Tongue, but I can also see it being about Pirate. Definitely recommend.

It just gets better and better and better.

This MC is made up characters that are a little bit out of whack, and you wonder how on earth the author is going to draw you into their world enough that you care about them. She managed it with Reaper, Boomer, Tool and Poodle. Well guess what, she knocked it out of the park with Skirt.

I was mesmerized with him from the beginning. His altercation that led to the split with his parents, his struggles with his best friend Poodle, the way the club set him up to lure someone into their trap. Then there's Dawn. So beaten, yet so strong. And the pair of them together... WHO KNEW!!!!!

The dynamics with the rest of the club were on point, and it was great to revisit the NOLA chapter, especially Tool's skittishness, and Tongue's love of alligators!!!

Yep, dynamic from page one right to the very end. I loved every page. Well done again. This series should be on every MC lovers must read list.
