Far From Destined (Promise Me Book 3) Kindle Edition
Macon Brady remembers every moment he lay on the ground, a bullet in his chest, his life bleeding out with each pulse. Yet his nightmares aren’t the only thing keeping him up at night.
Dakota Bristol left her ex with nothing but the clothes on her back and her child in her arms. She’s been hurt before and wants nothing to do with the shadows in Macon’s eyes. The problem? Her son loves him, and the more time she spends with the man, the more she’s afraid she’ll come to love him just as much.
Danger always comes back to haunt those who run. It was a lesson Dakota learned before. Now, it might be the man she refuses to fall for who makes the greatest sacrifice of all.

- Reviewed in Canada on October 28, 2020Verified PurchaseI fell in love with the Brady boys while reading Liam and Ardens story. And the see them finding their own happy ever afters in the Promise Me series is great. To watch Macon handle his issues from Cross and Hazels story is hard. Bit to have him know that Dakota is what he wants warms my heart. To have Dakota realize that she has the village needed to help raise Joshua is awesome. I have to say I found myself laughing and crying right along with them as they make they way to where they are happy. Cant wait for the final book of the series.

All of Carrie Ann Ryan's narrators for this series were amazing!!! I could listen to them for days!
I was sad when this book ended. I wanted one more in the series to learn about their lives after marriage and if they had boys or girls.
I was ecstatic to learn that Myra and Nate were previously married. It explained all the banter and gave a better picture into their past and why they were so snippy with each other.
The chemistry between Nate and Myra was HOT! I loved the ending where Nate comments that Myra was his first wife, second wife and his last.
This series gave more insight into the lives of the Brady's. I would love to see how many babies they add to their Brady bunch and how much trouble the guys got in while all the women were pregnant at the same time.
Arden officiating Nate's wedding was an amazing touch to make it that much more personal. I can't wait to see more in the series.
- Reviewed in Canada on October 27, 2020Ahh, that ending and bonus epilogue gave me all the warm and happies! I mean, thank goddess because Dakota and Macon had put me through the wringer. Both so independent yet you could see they needed help so much. Both pushing others away, not wanting to be a burden. Both ignoring and actively avoiding the sparks that flared between them. Like all their friends and family, I kept wanting to nudge them, then push them, or trick them, until they got together. They could only hold out so long. The heat between them was amazing and the connection was perfect. And then bad things starting happening, not between them, but to Dakota. The panic Dakota felt, the fear Macon had, it was palpable and radiated off the pages as their big bad presented. These two had such inner strength though and their love only cemented those strengths together. Macon and Dakota ended up together, and happy, with family, and love <3
- Reviewed in Canada on October 27, 2020Every single woman needs a blind date pact with her girlfriends. What an awesome way to set her up with the perfect Brady brother. Macon is a hot mess of seduction and emotional pain.... but he is perfect. Dakota is too strong for her own good and I loved watching her melt into Macon’s protective arms. They had me right from the very start.
- Reviewed in Canada on October 28, 2020Omg what can I say this story tore me apart and spit me back together. Dakota and Macon Holy smokes talk about i didn't want it to end. The way this story unfolded it was really really well done. Carrie Ann Ryan just wrecked me hard-core with this one. I love it so much.
- Reviewed in Canada on October 31, 2020Carrie does it again, she hasn’t disappointed once since I’ve started reading her books. Wasn’t easy for them to get together but in the end it was all so worth it. I don’t want to give anything away. Just know that you need to grab this book and the other 2 before this one. We need men like them in our lives. I’ll say it again that this was another great read from Carrie. You will not be disappointed with Macon and Dakota’s story. They deal with some obstacles but in the end it was all worth it. This series of books are amazing and so are the men and the women they are about.
- Reviewed in Canada on October 31, 2020Far From Destined is a emotional, suspenseful, family filled, drama, friends and laughs. I was drawn into the story from the start. Macon and Dakota were likeable, and so good for one another. Little Joshua, was an added bonus. I like how with each story we get a bit more of past characters, and how this family sticks together. Looking forward to the next book in this series.

5.0 out of 5 stars Carrie Ann Ryan continues to rock sexy hot contemporary romance!
Verified PurchaseThe third book in Carrie Ann Ryan's Promise Me series, "Far From Destined", continues to cost me sleep! "Far From Destined" is another Carrie Ann Ryan novel, I just can't put down until I have absorbed every word, every nuance, every bit of sexy goodness!
In "Far From Destined" Carrie Ann continues the saga of the Brady brothers. She once again demonstrates that love isn't easy, but definitely worth the work it takes to keep a relationship going. I love how Carrie continues to demonstrate that two broken souls can help each other to mend.
The main characters in this part of the family saga, Macon and Dakota, are so well-developed, they jump of the pages and embed themselves into the reader's reality! They are so beautifully broken by life and through Carrie Ann Ryan's magnificent characterization they persevere, and slowly they begin to heal, together. Carrie Ann understands that the course of true love never runs smoothly. Dakota and Macon twist and turn through the mess of their lives, always coming back to their undeniable love for each other.
Carrie Ann Ryan has an empathetic touch when she writes about PTSD and its effect on the lives of her characters. Her characters are both strong survivors at the same time they are vulnerable. Over and over again her characters find that trusting in each other gives them the strength needed to defeat their mental trauma and heal. A lesson we all need to learn!
With "Far From Destined", I once again snuggled into my favorite chair, disappeared into the world of Carrie Ann Ryan's, forgetting all of my own problems, and through the wonders of her excellent story-telling found the strength to create my own happily ever after. Which is exactly what I expect to find whenever I read!
I can't get enough of Carrie Ann Ryan's universe of Montgomery Ink and now the Brady's. Carrie Ann Ryan holds a special place on my " Must Read bookshelf, as well as my heart. Pick up her "Far From Destined and see if she does the same for you!

5.0 out of 5 stars Dakota and Macon's story is just brilliant
Verified PurchaseI have waited with great anticipation for Dakota's story and I wasn't disappointed. There is a reason that Carrie Ann Ryan is a US No 1 best selling author and that is because she delivers great stories!
If you have been following the Promise Me series you know that this set of books are about 3 women who have have made a packed that as they have been single for so long they will find each other blind dates. This is entwined with their friendship with the Brady brothers.
Dakota to me is the most broken of the 3. But don't let her know I said that. After her abusive ex was sent to prison - Dakota had taken her young son Joshua and now has made a life for herself - opened her own coffee and cake shop and has some great friends. The only slight fly in the ointment is Macon Brady resident Vet. The closer her son gets to him the more worried she gets - she has seen the bruises on his face and hands and she doesn't want her son to be around any form of violence only trouble is her heart is telling her something different. Ever since Macon took a bullet for his brothers girlfriend he has been living on the edge, the nightmares still keep coming and the only time he can feel in control is entering the ring and fighting! Gone are the days of falling in with everyone plans something changed in him that night that can never be undone!
Their friends decide to stag and intervention by setting Dakota up with Macon for her blind date, just so they can talk and find middle ground. But as the two get to know each other Dakota knows that who and what she thought about Macon is wrong. Macon know's he want's to be the person that Dakota and Joshua can be proud of. But as the tentative relationship starts to take of Dakota's ex is out of prison and is coming for what he thinks is his!

Verified PurchaseI loved this book but I hated that the detective didn't help her and that caused her son to be taken. I'm glad Dakota finally got a family for her and her son. Macon really helped them heal as well as himself.

5.0 out of 5 stars Far From Destined (Promise Me Book 3)
Verified PurchaseMacon took a bullet and his life was bleeding out, that was his bad nightmare night after night. He was educated, A Vet, taking care of his office that were full of sick animals. He was a very nice guy and brother to his 3 brothers and 1 sister. Living in Boulder, Colorado. Dakota and her pact, the girls were all from troubled pasts. They were all dating guys in the same family, there was tension between some of them but they seemed to get along at times. Dakota was a single mother with a young child. She owned the locate bakery in town. A place for her friends to meet and it was in a popular place for all. Dakota finally realizes that she needs to get to know Macon, one of the Brady men. They start dating and he falls head of heels for her and her son. This story was so easy to read and I enjoyed it too. Next up in the last book is brother Nate. ENJOY

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved this book!
Verified PurchaseI loved this story of Macon and Dakota!! They have been dancing around each other for the whole series. Macon and Joshua getting closer all the time. It takes her ex to get released from jail for Dakota to let Macon in and admit that she needs help. She is so strong and independent because she needed to be her whole life. But she learns that people do love her and want to help. I love these two, no three, together! I love this book and series! I highly recommend! I can't wait to read Nate and Myra's story!
