LUNATIC (RUTHLESS ASYLUM (A RUTHLESS UNDERWORLD NOVEL Book 1) Kindle Edition
Mania: A mental illness consisting of episodes of profound excitement, euphoria, delusions, and over-activity.
I deal with highs and lows, but somehow, I end up making the best of it.
My family disowned me, but family is the reason why I’m in Vegas.
Even with my inability to think straight, I end up being in charge of a bunch of runaway mental patients.
Control doesn’t exist if someone is fighting their mind. We have to break in order to mend.
Constantly.
Hence, The Asylum.
A sanctuary for lost causes.
Where crazy can roam free, and compulsions can be let loose.
My nephew says as long as it stays at The Asylum, we won’t have problems.
What fun would it be if problems didn’t exist?
Her laughter is music.
Her beauty is timeless.
And my mania has kicked in overdrive.
When I’m obsessed with something, it’s more than what the normal person feels.
If I can’t have her, no one can.
If I can’t have her, I’ll die.
And I’ll make sure she’ll die too.
I’m a lunatic who has found the living breathing version of his mania

About the author

K.L. Savage is the pseudonym of two friends addicted to rough love, who decided they were tired of looking for the kind of books they wanted to read. They had an itch that needed to be scratched, and as every girl knows, nothing scratches better than an alpha.
They write about gritty, alpha males, sometimes their dark sides, and the women they love.
If you have the same itch, their alpha males should fix that.

- Reviewed in Australia on 28 January 2021Verified PurchaseLoved loved loved this book. The 2 characters or rather 3 characters were fantastic. So glad this book was added to the series
- Reviewed in Australia on 1 February 2021Verified PurchaseZain sums up his mania and need for Chloe in just one sentence - “It isn’t often that two broken minds find each other to create one that’s whole.” He certainly attempts to pull everyone together.
She’s his everything. She settles and calms him, while Jessica’s okay with his manic side.
This is truly a wild ride with Zain from page one. Through the eyes of his mental illness, while it grips him, puts you off kilter, as things slide in and out with his mania throughout the book.
His connection to family, to the MC, his friends, interwoven creating a new series is beautifully done.
It’s not a sweet read, far from it. You’ll certainly enjoy how well written it is. Cliffhanger! Heck, it’s an understatement, you don’t see it coming.

Worthy of 10 star rating.

Lunatic is the first book in the Ruthless Asylum Series by K.L. Savage. I will be keeping this review short and sweet because I don’t want to spoil anything about this book.
Zain’s story is wild, hilarious, unpredictable and absolutely heartbreaking all at the same time. My heart breaks for Zain because he was forgotten by those who are supposed to care about him the most. I love how Zain became a protector of sorts for his friends and I like how he sees them for more than their mental illnesses. It is surreal to know that there are people in the world who actually live with the same problems as Zain. This story was interesting, intriguing and something that I haven’t read before. I can’t wait to see what the next book brings.
I recieved an advanced copy for free, and this is my honest opinion.

Zain and Chloe/Jessica are an amazing couple who suit each others crazy.

5.0 out of 5 stars 5 Stars. A must read. Lunatic is FANTASTIC.
Verified PurchaseWow, KL you are on the roll. You did it again. Lunatic is a fantastic story. You took us into the mind of a mentally ill person. Zain has Mania. We see his life through his eyes. He has been in a mental institution for the past 35 years since he was 10 years old.
The Guards treat the patients like animals instead of the sick mental patients they are. Zain decides its time to escape with his little group of friends. Zain would like to find a place where him and his friends can live a almost normal life together. But with no jobs or money it might be hard.
They head for Las Vegas and end at the door of The Ruthless Kings, were Reaper discovers the Zain is his uncle. Reaper offers Zain and his friends The Asylum which the Ruthless own. There they can fix it up and live there. With the promise of causing no trouble that will come back to the Ruthless and their families. ( We all know that's probably not going to happen.)
Then in walks Chloe, she is not one of the friends that escape with Zain. Zain spots her dancing in the moonlight in the desert and is taken by her beauty he decides he wants her and she is going to be his. When he confronts her she has no memory of how she ended up in the desert and insist she doesn't know how to dance.
Chloe is a sweet, gentle and shy , but Zain soon discovers there is more to Chloe, and her name is Jessica. Two women in one body, and Zain wants them both. But Jessica is hiding a secret that might bring trouble for Chloe, The Asylum and The Ruthless. You have to read this new series in the Ruthless world. Warning this does end on a cliffhanger. But the wait is worth it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant!
Verified PurchaseBrilliant spin off from Ruthless Kings. You might need to be slightly mad to live here but that's okay, we all are slightly nuts. Well developed book with characters suffering anything from bipolar disorder to PTSD. The plot is both heart wrenching yet humourous, with memorable characters and a plot that flows well.
Loved this and look forward to more in the Ruthless world. ..

4.0 out of 5 stars I loved it!!
Verified PurchaseZain the MMC has mental illness and this is his journey through the mind of A lunatic. Its fast paced and has all the elements of an asylum read like. Through the eyes of Zain we see a man that his family turned on him when he was 8 years old. He doesn't know how to process emotions through hid mania. When he and some of the other patients break out of the asylum he fights to make them a family. When a woman dances her way to him through the desert there is no turning back for either of them. Its raw, insightful and hard to swallow knowing there are people out there with this same type of mental illness. I gave it 4 stars. I want more. I wish this was a full length novel. I will be reading the next book in this series. Great work K.L.

4.0 out of 5 stars Oh this was not what expected but I loved it!
Verified PurchaseThese characters captured my heart and had me chuckling at their antics. They also had me feeling very emotional at times. I adored them.
This story had me captivated from the beginning, it was so different from anything I’ve ever read. Yes, it was twisted, crazy and unpredictable. In my eyes that’s what made it so exciting. Looking forward to reading more by this author.
