About That Summer Kindle Edition
A suspenseful and supremely romantic novel from an Amazon Top 20 and USA Today Bestseller.
Fallon Gentry has spent the last decade reliving one dark night in his head. The moment he lost the woman he loved when a single blink cascaded into a series of events that stole both of their lives. Now his nights are spent playing music in southern honky-tonks and nursing the memory of her the only way he knows how-at the bottom of a whiskey bottle.
A brief stint in Nashville, a hit song, and a brush with Hollywood couldn't bring him closer to God, but when the ghost of Augusta Belle Branson appears in his corner of another lonely dive bar late after dark, he's forced to confront everything he thought he knew about that summer, and a few things he didn't.
A firestorm of emotion consumes them when they come together after ten lost years, every moment more revealing, more unpredictable, more intoxicating than the next until the only reckoning left for Fallon is the one he must make with himself. But this time, fate may have left an after-burn too bitter to swallow.
This time, he may lose his whiskey girl for good.

Review
"6+ cliff diving, whiskey shot, hung over for days stars! Leigh reached out and grabbed me from the very first line, and never let go. The writing was beautiful and captivating, the characters were perfectly imperfect, and the story... well, it was flawless. Fallon and Augusta Belle's story is one that will be with me forever--it was heart breaking, intense, swoon worthy, and raw--everything I love in a story." - AR Myles, Amazon Bestselling Author
"Whiskey Girl is like a slow sensual song, you sway along with the words and end with a happy contented sigh." - Goodreads Review
"As smooth as the whiskey in the title and a sweet read!" - Goodreads Review
"Whiskey Girl is like the drink itself. Smooth with a bite, but when all is said and done you have an appreciation for the drink as well as the book... Woven together with whiskey and music references, it was swoony and sweet with an ending that put a big ole' smile on my face. A perfect summer read." - Goodreads Review
"A bit of darkness, sadness, tears (so many tears), hope and happiness. And the surprise twist in the story, very nearly took me under. I found myself angry and rooting for this couple. So be prepared, I highly suggest a bottle at hand to help you sooth and celebrate Whiskey Girl." - Goodreads Review
"Like poetry and lyrics to a song that stays stuck with you forever. Leigh knows how to weave a tale that will leave you open and raw and so emotional!" - Goodreads Review
"A Slow-burning, heart-pullin' second chance story I couldn't put down." - Goodreads Review
"An unforgettable, epic love story about two lost souls who, against all odds, find themselves through their passion and music. Filled with raw emotion, this lyrical, all-the-feels masterpiece may catapult Adriane Leigh into the league of Colleen Hoover, Brittainy Cherry, and L.J. Shen. - Nelle L'Amour, New York Times Bestselling author of THAT MAN
"Adriane Leigh has a way with words. The whole time I was reading Whiskey Girl I felt like I was reading beautiful poetry. Fallon and Augusta's story will prove to you that soulmates do exist and that second chances are worth fighting for. I loved this book so much!" - Aurora Rose Reynolds New York Times, USA Today and Wall Street Journal Bestselling Author

5.0 out of 5 stars A gorgeous 2nd chance romance!!
Verified Purchase"And the harder the liquor, the more she haunted me. Whiskey Girl. My poisoned lullaby."
Breath-taking and heart-crushing, this beautifully woven second chancer held me captive and transfixed to the very end. Missed opportunities tore me in two as this story unraveled like a tragic tornado. Fallon and Augusta had that timeless, instantaneous, love of a life-time type of love that speaks to your heart, and just feeling their pain over all of the lost time, and obstacles they had to face both apart and together brought tears to my eyes. A heady tale, it left me breathless, and giddy well after I got to the end, they will stay with me for a long time.
"Augusta Belle Branson was embedded like barbed wire around my soul."
Powerfully heartfelt, I fell head over heels almost instantly, and knew without a doubt that this book would become one of my favorites. It was emotional magic the way the Author weaves the pain with the passion, the hurt with the hope, and the past with the future. It was simply and spectacularly romantic and what all love stories should aspire to, truly.
"It'd felt like the earth had flipped upside down and inside out, my world never the same again. The night we met like two stars combustin' together in a perfect, beautiful storm not far from the banks of the Whiskey River."
Touching, tragic, and in the end, a magical journey with two imperfect people who finally come to know what true love is. This was my first read by this Author and certainly won't be my last, this book is high on my Top Reads of 2018 list and everyone needs to read this one.
"Whiskey and sunshine, soft angles and rough edges. Nothin' about us has ever made sense, and that's exactly the reason we make perfect sense."

4.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful second chance romance - 4.5 stars
Verified PurchaseWhiskey Girl was a wonderful second chance romance about a country singer and songwriter and his muse and soul mate that was tearing at my heart strings. It was touching and very sad at times but what kept me going was the hope that these characters are going to find their way back to each other again. Fallon and Augusta Belle didn't have it easy in life. They had each gone through many hardships and have been brought to their knees by fate too many times to count. The story is going back and forth between the present and past giving us glimpses about how the characters met and fell in love and revealing chapter by chapter what truly happend the night Augusta suddenly disappeared from Fallon's life. There are so many secrets on both sides as well as misunderstandings that kept them away from each other for 10 excruciating long years.
Fallon Gentry met Augusta Belle Branson the day she wanted to jump from a bridge. He saw the deep sadness and pure devastation in her eyes and instinctively knew that this girl needed him. Her parents were constantly fighting and never cared about how this affected their daughter. Augusta was suffering from the inside and trying to find ways to distract herself. Fallon was her hero, the guy who saved her from killing herself. His friendship and love became her everything and the sole reason she was able to deal with her miserable life. Fallon was struggling with a sick father to care for and a mom in rehab. Augusta was the only reason he was keeping it together. Both of them had dreams for a shared future - Fallon as country music star and Augusta Belle as his professional groupie. But things didn't turn out the way they were hoping for. One fateful night ended in separation and heartbreak leaving them both bitter and with unanswered questions. When fate brings them back together in a dive bar after one of Fallon's gigs they're finally given a second chance at their love. But first they need to reveal their secrets and overcome some very hurtful truths about what happend in the past...
You would assume that the boy from the wrong side of town and a family with no respectable background and the rich and privileged girl could never be a match. But these two were made for each other. They've been each other's salvation. Fallon loved Augusta's independence, strong will and sassiness. Augusta loved Fallon's gentle and caring heart. She admired him for his talent and cheered him on. I loved the slow burn between them. Their chemistry was off the charts hot.
Your heart is going to brake when you find out what happend that night and the aftermath of it. I was sobbing and crying my eyes out feeling so sorry for these two amazing people who have been wronged. But don't worry, Adriane Leigh gave them a beautiful happy end they deserved.
I've devoured this book in just a few hours and highly recommend it. I've read this author's short sexy novellas before and quite enjoyed them but this one is different. It's a raw, complicated and messy love story you soon won't forget. I love this new side to her writing. I therefore give Whiskey Girl 4.5 well deserved sunshine stars.
