Falling With You (Fractured Connections Book 3) Kindle Edition

4.6 4.6 out of 5 stars 306 ratings

The day I lost my best friend was the day I realized that I'd been living in the past. I've tried to find a way to heal, to mend that break. Somehow, I came through it partially whole. But I know I couldn't have done that without Aiden Connolly.

The problem is, he once loved my best friend. And now she's gone, and I refuse to be in that shadow, or worse, a replacement for someone we both loved.

~~

I left them all behind.

My brother.

My family.

My best friend.

And her.

Only Sienna Knight doesn't realize what she means to me. But before I can make sure she knows, I need to figure out exactly what that is.

    Good read

The third book in the fractured series with the Connolly brothers, knight sisters and friends. This time it's Aiden and Sienna, the best friend and ex boyfriend of Alison. This was an emotionally charged book between the two main characters, throw in feelings about the friend, guilt about the attacks and whether they can make a relationship work. A great read and I can't wait for book four.

This review is written after both listening to and reading this book.

Fractured Connections is a series which has me hooked, this book the third book in this series was every bit as good as the first two. You could, I suppose, read or listen to it as a standalone story but you will get so much more from it if you have listened to these books in order. After their friend Allison commits suicide a group of friends who had drifted apart is brought back together by this tragic event. Each book focuses on one couple although all of the characters are in all of the books.

This book is Aiden and Sienna's story and as with the preceding books, you find out what makes Sienna and Aiden who they are. Sienna has loved Aiden for years but she hasn't admitted to herself that what she feels is love nor has ever done anything about it because he and Allison fell in love. Now even though Alison is gone she still feels guilty about loving him. As for Aiden well, he's attracted to Sienna but he too has his issues.

Aiden is an angry man, he's angry at his mother for being a junkie and making his early childhood hell, he's angry with Alison for committing suicide and not asking for help from anybody in her group of close friends but most of all he's angry with himself for not saving Alison even though they were no longer together. But when Sienna is hurt and he wasn't there to save her his anger leads to him injuring himself.

During this moving tale, old secrets will be revealed, old loves will be admitted to all leading to a better understanding of what makes them both tick. This is an emotional roller coaster of a read which had me both laughing and crying by turns. Their story contains some pretty heavy stuff and the journey they both take to achieve their HEA is not an easy one.

I read this book before listening to the audio version and although I enjoyed the book I feel that you can get so much more from the story when listening to it, especially when the narration is as good as it is for this one. Maxine Mitchell and Joe Arden have done another incredible job with this book, I was never in any doubt about who was speaking, all the characters are distinct. Together with Carrie Ann Ryan, they have with this book and all the books in this series achieved something special.

I was given this audiobook as a gift and am voluntarily writing my review.

A feisty return to the Connolly brothers bar with the simmering heat and angst that you expect in the author’s signature style.
A great read, with humour, friendship and love reigning supreme with some cute cats and kitten making the world a better place.

5.0 out of 5 stars An amazing story of forgiveness, moving on, and love!
Reviewed in the United States on 16 July 2019
Aiden and Sienna had my heart from the very beginning! I enjoyed their banter and sparring, loved how they enjoyed being together, even when they weren't together. I loved that they had so much back ground together, so much history to build on, even when it wasn't always happy history. Their smoking hot connection and the hints of the unknown that haunted them kept me guessing until the very end! This was a great story, possibly my favorite of the series! I've enjoyed how this author takes each new series and relates them to previous series and I love how each book and series builds on the last. It makes each new character, as well as favorite previous characters, feel like family!

This book....it was so much more than JUST a romance. Sure, the story begins and ends with a guy and a girl, and it revolves around how they find their HEA, but at the heart of it, it's about forgiveness, both of one's self, and others. It's about moving forward with your life after tragic circumstances throw life as you know it into a different universe. It's about finding that one person that completes you, and realizing, they might have been right in front of you all along. It's for these reasons this book, (and the entire series) will stick with me as some of my favorites for a very long time to come!

5.0 out of 5 stars Falling with you❣️

Aiden and Sienna are next in the fractured connections series and their story is so full of complexities and complications that it certainly made for a very interesting read. Aiden was once Allison’s boyfriend and even though she is no longer with the group, Sienna’s guilt over liking Aiden more than she should comes up along with a whole string of other events, which can be tossed firmly in the life happens pile, that I didn’t see coming. A long held secret is also revealed but the best thing of all is the connection this couple make and how they fight to be together😍

An emotionally complex story and series and definitely worth reading! I’m looking forward to seeing what Carrie comes up with in regards to the broody bartender and Meadow and if I’m lucky Dillion will also find himself a lady😜

5.0 out of 5 stars A Great Story!
Reviewed in the United States on 16 July 2019
This is book 3 of Carrie Ann Ryan's series, Fractured Connections. A group of friends who were distant for years but are brought back together by the death of a friend, Allison. This book focuses on Aiden & Sienna. Like the other 2, the characters' layers & walls they built because of things that happened in their lives are stripped away. Sienna has had a crush on Aiden for years. She has never done anything about it because he was dating their friend, Allison. Now she is gone. And she feels guilty about the fact that she still loves him. Aiden finds he is attracted to Sienna as well. Oy. Their story is a emotional roller coaster where you are laughing one minute and then you get to the top of the hill and dive right into crying of the next scene in which Ms. Ryan so eloquently describes in detail, that you just want to hug them tight. They weave through some pretty heavy stuff to get to their normal, their HEA. Ms. Ryan has done a wonderful job with this series of being respectful & sensitive to all that has happened in the lives of these characters and to the readers who she takes on each of their rides. And, I'm looking forward to the next one which is Meadow & Beckham's story.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great story

The third book in this series, The Fractured Connections series’s, is every bit the standalone that the other two books were. The relationship among the other characters will be more familiar if you have read the previous books, but I honestly don’t think it matters. Aiden and Sienna get their HEA in this story, about a couple who struggle to be with each other. They have previous baggage connected with a character no longer with the group. The fact that they both are horrible at communicating ( a common theme in romance) hinders the relationship greatly. I enjoyed them finding out what their faults were and coming to terms with them so they could be a couple. The secondary characters of the cats were some of my favorite scenes. As always, an enjoyable series by Carrie Ann Ryan.

This series has been full of loss, rebuilding, emotions, and second chances. From the very first page of the first book all the way to the last page of book three. This group has lost a friend and none of them saw it coming, now they must each deal with the guilt of not seeing the signs, not being there to help, they are also each dealing with their own personal problems.

The Connolly brothers are learning how to be a family again, and rebuilding their parent's legacy. Working through the guilt they have built over the reasons for their separation, and the feelings that they abandoned their father.

With this book in particular there were times that I was a bit annoyed with the side characters, with how much they get into the main characters space, and are after them so much. But when you pull back and remember that they have all lost a friend, and now are super sensitive to each other's moods and rhythm to make sure that they dont miss something going wrong because none of them wants to go through with that loss again - each of those instances where I was initially annoyed becomes a whole different feeling.

I know this review has been a bit all over the place but there is no doubt, I loved the chemistry between Sienna and Aiden, I love the dynamic between the group as a whole. This series is so real, and so heartbreaking, but also so very heartfelt and full of hope and the possibility of a brighter future, even when everyone feels like there is a missing piece.
