I've been many things in my life: daughter, friend, student, lover, wife
and now, widow.

Getting past those labels and finding who I could be without them was the hardest thing I've ever done.

Then I became friends with Brendon Connolly.

Every time I look at him, I see a past, I see a present, and I’m afraid if I look too hard, I’ll see a future.

Harmony's husband is killed in an accident a few years ago and things have been rough, it's hard to know what to do and how to pick up the pieces your life has been left in.

Brendon had a rough start in life, even though he landed in a loving adoptive home he's always waiting for the other shoe to drop.

Harmony and Brendon have a relationship built on friendship, things progress at a nice pace, nothing feels forced. I love the way everything came together, it felt organic and respectful of the losses both had to deal with so far in life. I felt that the author did a great job of showing readers how there are different types of grief just as there are different ways of dealing with loss.

This book was rich with emotion. Full, deep, soul-touching emotions. There was no turning away from it, you didn’t want to, so you dove in, and it washed over you, through you, and took you over. And you felt it, all of it, with Harmony, with Brendon. Their pain, their confusion, their happiness, their despair, their hope. It wasn’t what you read, you felt it.

I thought I was emotionally prepared from this book, but I wasn’t. It gutted me, and it lifted me up. I loved every feeling, every teardrop, every chuckle. I want everyone to read this book, so they can feel, really feel, all of it as well. This book is a masterpiece of emotions, and an amazing story, of losing, finding, accepting, and just being true to yourself in the now. That there is no perfection, but there is a life worth living, if you let yourself

    ***I listened to the audiobook!***
The narrators are the same for this whole Fractured Series; Joe Arden and Maxine Mitchell. Arden has been a fav narrator for quite some time, but after this series Mitchell is quickly becoming one of my top 5 fav female narrators. The two together keep you engaged and focus your attention. I could listen to the duo for hours!!!

Brendan and Harmony - you could totally see this math coming from the first book. Out of the 8 main characters, these two have been through the most... Well at least in their adult lives. Brendan Connlly was one of three boys who Jack and Rose adopted. He was the only boy that wasn't blood related with Cameron and Adian being twins. Dylan is a half brother to the twins. I hope he gets paired up st soon! The boy is wise far beyond his 18 years!

Harmony lost her husband due to a tragic car vs pedestrian accident. The driver didn't see the red light and Brendan couldn't get to him fast enough to save him. Brendan def suffered some survivors guilt and to pile that on top of his jadded childhood that has se very dark paths - I am not sire how the many functions!

This book def builds on the characters and gives us more sneak peaks into the couples lives. By this book you have a suspicion that Adian and Sierra will end up together. They are like oil and water.

One of the best parts of the book is when Brendan realizes he's in love with Harmony. They are book so scared to ruin their friendship that they don't look closer at the feelings they have for one another. I only gave 4 stars as I wished they faced their feelings sooner and we got more of their hot chemistry together.

This series is the most down to earth, real life incidents, hot sex and amazing love stories. It's an emotional roller coaster from start to finish - but in a good way!

I can't wait to listen to #3 so I can hear more about the Connlly brothers and their squad of peeps!

I absolutely enjoyed reading Harmony and Brendon’s story. The words are beautifully spun and the emotions of their story is absolutely enjoyable. Carrie Ann knows how to hit a persons emotions and heart strings.

Book #2 in this series is about Harmony and Brandon.

    Possible SPOILERS

Since her husband been gone (dead) for awhile she has decided that it is time to try dating but after some really crappy dates Harmony starts to think that there might be something wrong with her standards. She does have a good male friend in Brandon Connolly but he was also her husband's friend and coworker.
Words for wisdom from people who love Brandon have pointed out that it's time to take things to the next level with Harmony...it's time to tell her how he really feels.

This is a sweet second-chance romance between two old friends with a unique connection. Harmony and Brendon were friends growing up. He was best friends with her beloved husband, who was killed in a tragic accident, leaving Harmony widowed at the age of twenty five. Brendon witnessed his friend’s death and lives daily with the acute loss. Harmony was devastated and seeing one another hurt so they fell out of touch intentionally despite their longtime friendship.

The recent death of another close friend reunited their group of childhood friends as adults so the two have reconnected. Not a day goes by that Harmony doesn’t grieve Moyer, but she has to keep living so she forces herself to begin dating again. Each date is worse than the last but she soon realizes Brendon is the friend she rehashes these horror-stories with, not her girlfriends. They truly have a special bond but she can’t even consider being more than friends with him because it seems so wrong.

Brendon already had a lot of scars from his nightmare childhood and watching his friend die was a trauma that’s magnified in the face of his PTSD and OCD. He lives with a heavy burden and Harmony is the best thing in his life but even the thought of being closer to her fills him with self-loathing. This is his best friend’s wife, after all. The best friend he might have saved if he’d been paying attention. Brendon’s guilt is so strong that it nearly paralyzes him.

This is a slow-burn romance with a HEA thankfully, because it’s a sad story. There’s less action and more internal dialogue from the main characters than most but it works. The author really brings them to life and lets us feel their emotions in many ways. I was pleasantly surprised since I worried at first this book was a real downer but I enjoyed it very much. This was my first book from Carrie Ann Ryan but I’ll definitely check out more of her catalogue.

Loved this book it was deep .Brendon and Harmony both had pasts , both sadness but in different ways. Brendon was treated appallingly in his childhood by his father who should have protected him. Harmony lost her husband who was also a co-worker and friend to Brendon. While Harmony tried to navigate her way through dating Brendon was there to support and listen to her. These two had always been friends could they be something more. Love this author

Sweet and angsty second chance romance. This is Brendon and Harmony’s story. Friends in the past and present but what will the future hold for these two? If they can get out of their own heads they could have it all. I really liked Harmony. There were times I wanted to put Brendon through a wall. All in all a very sweet read

Harmony is coming to grips with her new reality, two years after her husband dies. She is putting herself out there to try dating again and to get into a new routine.

Brendon is literally a mess of emotions and still suffering with nightmares and guilt over not being able to save his friend and also about his past, and now he is feeling guilt because he can’t stop thinking about Harmony and the possible feelings he has for herâŁïž And now the one person he never wanted to see again, shows up at the worst time.

This story was quite enlightening as it focuses on how Harmony is trying to move on, two years from her husband’s untimely death but also how the one person who is there for her throughout is the one she turns to when things get tough. Something else which I can see is hard is when friends decide to become more and worry that their decision will affect the group of friends they both have but also their relationship and if things don’t work out. I love these Connelly brothers and Dillon is certainly making a statement and his stamp on each of these new fractured connections that are being made😍
