G-Ring

Rate this book
He’s a wrong-side-of-the-tracks bad boy who owns his own gambling ring. She’s a well-bred, rich girl who doesn’t fit into her own world. They were never supposed to be…

ACE
It took me years to build the clientele that shows up at this G-Ring every single weekend. Setting up a beautiful lounge, word-of-mouth, and damn good business sense. I make a six-figure salary, and I’m only twenty-two. Doesn’t matter that I grew up in a trailer park on the wrong side of town. What I’ve built for myself? It’s perfect.

Until it isn’t. The night I met her, my whole world stopped turning for just a second while my eyes raked her top to bottom. And then it exploded. Fell apart. Ripped to shreds. A dead body in your lounge doesn’t exactly promote good business. Now I have to find out who’s killing off my clients, and keep Naima safe at the same time. All while avoiding prison time.

FML.

NAIMA
It’s called a silver spoon. It means you never have to worry about money, status, or rules. Mine is starting to choke me. My Moroccan family is a little more strict than most, but it doesn’t stop them from giving me everything I want. Only, I don’t want much. Just to feel alive, like I have a place in this world. When I end up at the G-Ring that fateful night with my friends, I think I’ve finally found it. When his eyes land on me, it feels like he sees everything I try so hard to hide. So it took me by surprise, the dead man we found at the end of the night. Now, people I can’t see are chasing me, and I don’t want to leave Ace’s side. I need him. And he needs me.

Will they survive long enough to experience everything real? Or will the people hunting them down cut this love story short?

Diana Gardin is a new to me author, so G-Ring was my first read by her but it won't be my last. Naima is the rich girl who doesn't need to worry about money, while Ace is from the wrong side of the tracks & has made his own money by some questionable means. Despite their differences, the moment they meet, it's game over because they have an instant connection that they keep strengthening even with  things taking a dangerous & crazy turn. From then on out, the twists were coming in hot which left me on the edge of my seat dropping f-bombs as the bodies kept piling up. It did take me a minute to get fully invested but once I did, man it never slowed down. I don't want to give anything else away so you know what to do to see how it started, what's going on, and how it will all play out! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

ACE IS A "bad boy" who has had a rough life and runs an illegal gambling house called G Ring.
Naima is a college senior who is part of a sorority and basically has every privilege she could want. But contrary to what others may think, her life isn't perfect. When she meets Ace, it is like she has found someone who sees the real her. Not just the pampered sorority girl with rich parents but a strong, brave and caring young woman that has the ability to change his life.
This book is intriguing and a little dark, which I enjoyed.
Overall a really good story.

I received this ARC for an honest review.

Although riddled with suspense, this book wasn't what I'm used to reading by this author.
I loved the main characters and their differences that pulled them together instead of apart. In saying that I struggled to connect with the plot until the puzzle pieces started coming together.
I like how the author decided to do a book for herself, rather than what readers might expect. It shows guts no matter what my thoughts on it are, so I'll leave the review here.

Disclaimer: ARC received in exchange for an honest review

G-Ring, a just-released romantic suspense with an NA twist, may be my new favorite from author Diana Gardin’s catalog., G-Ring brings something new and fresh to the table, while still being “distinctly Diana,” meaning it’s imbued with tension, action, passion, heat, and heart.

G-Ring is both the name of the novel and the moniker for male lead Ace’s underground, less-than-legal gambling ring. Geared towards yuppie college boys, the Ring is a temporary money-making venture that Ace hopes will put him in a position to eventually be financially secure enough to pursue more legal endeavors. The night Naima walks through the door of the Ring with Noah—her kinda, sorta, not really, it’s really complicated but also not complicated boy friend—everything changes. Ace and Naima’s instant connection takes on a life of its own and their pulsing attraction just hums right off the pages.

When dangerous circumstances try to force distance between Ace and Naima, their desire for one another keeps them pursuing their burgeoning relationship, despite the possible consequences. The chemistry between the couple is redhot and simmers just below the surface of a fast-paced plot line ripe with mystery and suspense. Though it skews younger than some of Gardin’s other work, the story of Ace and Naima is as edgy, engaging, and exciting as anything else Gardin has written. Readers will hurtle towards the conclusion, unable to put the book down until they reach its resolution.

Ace and Naima on the surface are such an odd pairing, but under Gardin’s careful ministrations, they work beautifully; the backstories crafted for the duo yield far more similarities than differences, which plays to their increasing desire for each other and their inevitable entry into a relationship. Gardin’s attention to detail breathes life into a fast-paced, high-risk high-reward tale of lust, love, money, power, success, and the search for life beyond other’s expectations. Throw in a couple of sexy, stunning leads, a motorcycle, and an underground gambling enterprise, and you’ve got yourself a book that readers won’t soon forget.

Naima is a senior in college. What should be your typical sorority girl. Came from money and plays the part when that’s not who she really is on the inside. By day one girl, by night another. Ace is from the wrong side of the tracks. Mother was a piece of work. Father wasn’t around. Didn’t have anyone to look out for him growing up except his uncle Carson who has a shady past but is on the up and up now. Ace runs an illegal place called the G-Ring. He’s good at reading people but gets in a little over his head when money does the talking. Things are done and seen that weren’t supposed to be and that puts lives in jeopardy. It turns into a rollercoaster of events that you won’t necessarily see coming. Ace and Naima bond over events and in a short amount of time both drop down walls that have been built. That is dangerous in itself. Events unfold and things unravel leading to a whirl wind of catastrophe. This was an epic journey, an emotional coaster and will have you on the edge of your seat waiting to find out the answers to the events of THAT night!!!! Great read!!!

Gardin always gives us rich characters in tense stories and G-Ring is no exception. Ace and Naima are fascinating and attracted me even when I couldn't always say I liked them. The differences in their upbringing are surprisingly unimportant to Naima and their similarities more than make up for the divide. Like Naima, I'm drawn to the bad boy. Especially one who's so smart and sexy. Ace is using his talent for business to drag himself far from the trailer park. Naima admires this even when it's at odds at the privileged life she's led. Ace sees Naima for who she is and loves her for it even when he knows she's meant for a very different life than he can give her.

As is to be expected with Gardin's stories, there is a ton of intrigue. With murders after both Naima and Ace and the potential for legal consequences, the two set out to save themselves and solve the crime committed in Ace's club. It's a thrill a minute story.

I've long been interested in the differences between the persons society labels as admirable and those with true strength of character who may live a bit outside the current laws and norms. Ace and Noah are just such a study in right and wrong, what is acceptable and what is not.

There is nothing like a bad boy to love you right! Ace has his life under control. He runs his illegal gambling ring and plans for the future. Of course he doesn't want to spend his entire life breaking the law. Things were smooth until a frat boy walked in with the most stunningly beautiful woman ever. Naima is trapped by her heritage and the expectations of her parents. She wants a much different life than they have planned for her. She is drawn to the handsome man she spots on a night out with friends. This chance meeting changes both their lives and suddenly everything is on the line. This was an unexpectedly sweet read. Ace might be a bad boy but he is the sweetest alpha around. He really sees Naima for who she is. Naima sees to the heart of him and loves everything she sees. I loved this couple, they were really something special, 5 stars!

I liked this book. The main characters, Ace and Naima were very likable and worked beautifully as a couple. Externally these two had many differences but internally they shared many similarities and I loved that they could see that when they were looking at each other. Their chemistry was great as was the level of sweetness and emotion they shared. I will say that personally, I felt the romance took a bit of a backseat to the suspense element of this book and that cost it a star because the romance is what I read my books for. A for the suspense angle, I though it was well written, felt intense and kept me guessing for a while. Combined, it all made for a enjoyable book that was easy to read. I'm choosing to post an unprejudiced, unsolicited review.

Ace is a bad boy from the wrong side of the tracks, and runs an illegal gambling ring, while Naima is from a privileged background, and even though they are total opposites, they are drawn to each other, and break down each other’s walls. When a client it murdered Ace needs to find out who is responsible while keeping Naima safe at the same time. This is a well written story which is an emotional roller coaster journey throughout, as well as having suspense, intrigue, danger, violence, and love, which all leads to a thrilling tale which had me on tenterhooks throughout. I look forward to reading more form this talented author whose work I highly recommend for all.

Instant chemistry with Ace & Naima. There is some suspense they witness to a murder and there is something else on the surface...a crazy boy that was Naima.

Ace's mother is a BITCH !! he saved her from her attacker a.k.a boyfriend. Thankful he has his uncle & best friend who support him

Naima family was awful not supportive until a incident that make them release they are wrong !!

I just love their connection they balance each other. LOVE the ending, new start 🎼 Ace getting a business degree & Naima with her music. They are creating their own record label in Nashville ❤

Must read & I love the ending is a fresh start for them

G-Ring by Diana Gardin is the suspenseful story of Ace and Naima. He’s a self-made man and owns an elite gambling ring. She’s shows up there with her guy…but, when Ace and Naima meet….there is an instant attraction. Unfortunately, things become very deadly very quickly….leaving them with a bit of a situation to wade through.

This is the first story I’ve read by this author and I’m totally hooked!!! This story was intense, gripping, exciting, danger-filled, steamy, and has tons of action and suspense!!! What a great read!!!

I am volunteering to leave a review for an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

eh
it's alright
this was not what I was expecting when I started this. I wanted a broody bad boy who was gonna fcuk shit up while having this underground gambling ring. instead, I got a simp. The heroine was honestly annoying. the best friend character byan, was just fucking awful. I love stirring the pot but girl read the room.
also, there is only one spicy scene, and it's noting special. this book is very plot-heavy and there is very little romance. it is basically love at first sight bull shit.

G-Ring is a story that at first I found hard to connect with, however eventually the suspense and tension held my attention. As the story progressed I was drawn into it as my mind tried to second guess what was at play. Ace and Naima’s story is packed with intrigue and unease. Two people from different sides of the tracks bond over an event and take you on an emotional journey and have you on the edge of your seat.

In all, a good story. A guy from the wrong side of town and a girl with a privileged upbringing can't deny the sparks that fly between them. Both Ace and Ny keep their cards close to the vest, their connection though shows that they are more alike than they are with anyone else. The story has family drama, action, suspense, a bit of a twist, some bad decisions and some life changing ones.

It was a very action-packed book. Not as much YA as I assumed, but very good none the less. A few grammar errors here and there, manageable to read through those. Would recommend it if you love danger and in a way mystery books. I was trying to figure out the antagonist the entire time. Such a good read.

I was awestruck by this story. I guess this isn't Diana's usual style but it's good that authors branch out like this. You can explore more of their talent. The chemistry between Ace and Naima is smoldering hot. I like how they explored their chemistry despite the possible consequences. It just shows they're fearless. Very thrilling and suspenseful.

G-Ring by Diana Gardin

This is my first read by this author and I loved it.

Hero - Ace, omg!!! I lOVED HIM ❤❤❤. He only had his uncle looking out for him. But the one person he wanted to help, always put herself before him, and that was his mother. When he meets Naima, she is it. She sees passed the facade that his got going on.

Heroine - Naima, was such a strong character, and, she had everything but her parents attention. They never listened, and she found everything she wanted for in Ace.

Views -

I really loved the storyline in this book,  it was refreshing.  Even though it had all the badness in it. Our (H), Ace, runs an illegal gambling ring and during one of his games, something happens, which leaves him and naima in a dangerous situation.

I loved the way he wanted to protect Naima, even though he didn't know her for long.

Loved the relationship Ace had with his uncle, hated his mother, she was absolutely the worst.

Naima, her parents aren't around, and her best friend, well I didnt like her so much.
