Scarlett

When Cristiano Grigori came for me, he didn’t come alone. He brought his army to kill the soldiers at my door and took me for himself.

He put his ring on my finger and marked me as mafia property.

His property.

My brothers thought they had wiped out the Grigori family, but Cristiano is very much alive.

And he has one purpose. Revenge.

Cristiano

The De La Cruz brothers were pawns to my real enemy. They were nothing but foot soldiers.

Killing them was easy enough.

Taking their sister, well, that’s another story. And she doesn’t know the half of it.

Scarlett is mine.
My bride.
My pawn.

She’s the daughter of a once-powerful Cartel King. And through her I will flush out the rest of the rats who sought to wipe out the Grigori name.

Keeping her is just a bonus.

Are you afraid of me?” he asks more quietly but no more gently. “Yes.”
He leans in close, inhales deeply. “Good. Because you should be,” he says, his lips brushing my cheek, the corner of my mouth when he does. “Because you don’t know what I want to do to you.”

I've said it before and I'll say it again; Natasha Knight books are my crack. She writes some of the most sizzling and addictive mafia romance and this one may be my favorite of hers to date!

Cristiano is a man set on bloody revenge and Scarlett the beautiful woman that gets caught in the crosshairs of a year old war in the making.

What I love about Knight's duets, is the way she really sets the stage with book one. The slow burn, the tension, the secrets, the questions that are burning through your brain. I couldn't turn the pages fast enough.

Scarlett has been collateral for ruthless man for almost all of her life. Being forced to marry a man she hates by her vicious brothers is one thing. But being rescued out of the marriage only to see another guided cage is another thing.

Cristiano has been waiting to avenge the murder of his family for years and now the cards are finally falling into place for him. Even if it means a marriage to the woman whose family took center stage in the ruination of his. It doesn't matter that she's an innocent. He'll use her for what he needs.

There's just enough character development in this book to get you completely hooked on both characters while still leaving you burning with questions on their past. The tension between Cristiano and Scarlett is so thick, you can practically taste it. This is the ultimate enemies to lovers catnip. Scarlett may be young, and her past may be riddled in pain and demons that she tries to forget, but she's a fighter through and through. She protects her youngest brother with a type of ferocity that a mafia princess should have. But she's no princess. She's been through hell, even if we haven't fully learned the extent of it.

THis story had me eagerly turning the pages well into the night only to be slammed with a cliffhangers to beat all cliffhanger and desperate for my next hit. I can't wait to get my hands on the conclusion. This had everything I love in a mafia romance; grit with just enough dose of darkness, sexual tension, plenty of action, secrets and betrayal. I need the final book IMMEDIATELY!

'𝖂𝖎𝖙𝖍 𝕿𝖍𝖎𝖘 𝕽𝖎𝖓𝖌' Is the first full length mafia romance book in the ('𝕿𝖔 𝖍𝖆𝖛𝖊 𝖆𝖓𝖉 𝖙𝖔 𝖍𝖔𝖑𝖉') duet Natasha Knight. Spoken in 'Dual Perspectives.'

This was the perfect book to get me out of my reading funk, just enough darkness to have my dark wee soul rejoicing, the beginning set up the perfect stage for what was to come in this book. Cristiano is a man set on revenge after being left for dead when he saw his family massacred right in front of his eyes as he was left bleeding out on the ground. Many years go by and he's still no closer to getting the answers he seeks, marring his body with names he wants to take out and right at the top of the list is Scarlett's brothers.

Scarlett is ruled under her brother's thumbs and is being used as collateral damage to marry a man she despises but will give her brother's the power and protection they seek in this mafia world of there's where everyone is out for blood.

The only slight negative I had with this is that I didn't really get the full connection I would've expected with our hero, I was fully expecting to be hit in the feels by him, but that really didn't happen, I'm hoping that all comes in the next book. But all in all I really enjoyed this and can't wait to dive into the next book.

Told in dual POV, 1st person, it’s the first installment in the "To Have and To Hold" Duet and ends on a cliffhanger. In my opinion, most of Natasha Knight’s books have a similar plot but every time I read them, I enjoyed them. But in this one the banter between the MCs was something else, it made me smile. I liked Scarlett’s fierce attitude, it made her perfect for Cristiano. He had a soft spot for Scarlett, well, let’s say most of the time. "With This Ring" isn’t that dark but it has dark elements and it’s a bit angsty. Overall, I had a good time reading it and hope you enjoy it as well!

I was invested in the first part of this duet from the first page to the last!

Cristiano was a great hero, strong, cold, his main focus was avenging all the people who were responsible for executing his family. I liked how he was protective over Scarlett, while he didn’t admit to himself, while their relationship was evolving.

Scarlett was a strong character, had been through some ugly situations but she was thoughtful and caring.

The story was very well written, intense, full of angst, fast paced and engaging, there were dark and dangerous scenes, secrets, twists and suspense.

Cristiano and Scarlett’s story was very compelling, dark and gritty.

It might have ended with a crucial cliffhanger, but thankfully the second part is waiting for me!!! 🏃🏻‍♀️🏃🏻‍♀️

Wow, this must be 3rd or 4th book I have DNFed in row. Nothing wrong with this book except few errors in the Kindle edition, I even liked the starting (which is surprising given that I hate Mafia romances) but once into the book I didn't want to continue reading because it feels like I have read this story already 1000 times before-nothing new and after a while, I just lost interest and was pretty much skimming through the book, so I am like Why not just DNF it? Though I can give it a try again. I am not going through a reading slump or something just that I want to read something new, something different, I can predict everything, way too many similarities & way fewer differences. Though I will admit author Natasha Knight is a good writer, she has written few scenes nicely.

You should know by now that Natasha Knight is one of my favorite author: from the moment i found out about her, with Salvatore, i read almost every book she released in these years.
She always makes me fall in love deeply with her characters.

With this ring is the first part of Cristiano and Scarlett' story.
I'm not gonna tell you anything about the story per se, because the beauty of reading a book is to discover every detail as you scroll through the pages....
But i can tell you this: it's intense and gonna drive you crazy!

Everyone lie and even if they are enemies, Cristiano and Scarlett can only trust each others.
But when trust is the only thing you can't afford, even an omission can cause terrible damages...

The author throws us in the middle of the action from the first chapter.
The fast pace keep you interested and on the edge of your sitting waiting for the next twist.
All those secrets keep you glued to the story trying to understand who is good and who is bad.

Scarlett is so brave, despite everything she endured. She doesn't bow to anyone and face Cristiano with her head high.
Cristiano is broken and scarred.
His only purpose is vengeance and last thing he needs is that girl but he is so alone and surrounded by enemies...
Gosh my heart ached for him 💔💔💔
I loved the way they interact to each others but we only get a glimpse of what they could be, so i'm eager for more...
And after that cliffhanger i'm dying to have the second part of their story !!!

Will rate once the duet is complete. Crossing fingers and toes that it doesn’t disappoint. Cause I have the worse luck with duets and trilogies(worse)

But I liked this one. I didn’t skip it. So that’s a good sign.

He’s 27 and she’s 22. He’s been celibate for 10 years and she’s not a virgin (I believe she was raped by her uncle)

With mafia books, you have to take it with a grain of salt. Can’t expect daisies or fourth wave feminism my friends. Elements of violence, and sexual dominance are present.

So the heroine’s mafia family (brothers) murdered the hero’s family over a decade ago. She was about twelve at the time, and her youngest brother was five.

Hero only had one surviving brother. They have spent that time plotting and building their empire to get revenge. At the start of the story - she’s getting wed to another ‘mafia’ man as a business venture. I don’t consider this a spoiler because it’s in the first two chapters. So there’s a break in and the hero kills her brothers. He spares her because she interests him - sexually at least - and her youngest brother upon her begging.

Heroine has been subjected to quite a violent, abusive lifestyle by her older brothers and uncle. The book follows almost a hate to love - I’ll go with “like” trope between the leads.

Anyway... I enjoyed this book. Thought both of them had character. Chemistry was really surfacing. Held my interest etc etc so I will read the next one.

But man that ending really pissed me off. He makes an assumption that she’s a virgin. And when he discovers that she isn’t - bang, he calls her a whore. 0-100. So now... if you’re not a virgin, you’re automatically a whore? Make it make sense please. I’m sure he felt remorseful towards the end of the cliffhanger, but I just rolled my eyes at that bullsh*t.

Authors, I’ll be honest I’m ready for some toxic versatility. I want to see female heroines shame men. Have the girl reject & tell the guy he’s for the streets if he’s delivering that community d*ck. Okay this lead wasn’t one but I’ve seen plllllenty of book manwhores.

Safety: Safe from moment of meeting. He’s 27 - celibate for ten years. Shes 22 & been with one man - heavily implied it was non consensual.

3-3.5 stars!

I had a difficulty getting into this book because almost half of the story felt flat for me and the plot went in circles that made me confused as hell. I didn't really felt connected with the characters at first but I have to continue reading the sequel because the last part really made me curious about what would happen to the story. Also, I am extremely furious on how Cristiano behaved and treated Scarlet when he discovered something about her. That scene was so degrading to the heroine's part. It was so disappointing and made me like hate him. Ugh.

I hate to not finish this but I just didn’t like how Scarlett isn’t acting like she’s being held captive.

I didn’t get that far into the book just 8 chapters but I needed to stop because I wanted something more serious. Being held captive and your brother Imprisoned I would expect a more realistic reaction.

Cristiano’s dialogue was also cringe and I felt like he was trying too hard to be this bad guy which he really wasn’t.

This is disappointing because I really liked how it started.

Natasha Knight always beautifully marries suspense and dark romance in a dramatically yummy package- and With This Ring is a twisting, intriguing page turner. Natasha is the queen of mafia marriage of convenience and captive tropes, always finding new and invigorating drama to spin in the genre.

Christiano is a compelling hero- straight away, we forgive and relish his darkness, because this is a man who has suffered at the betrayal and treachery of others. His vendetta makes him initially dangerous and cruel, but we find his softer layers pretty quickly as we start to unpack his past and as we see him drawn to his captive, Scarlett- the enemy who is in his clutches just waiting for him to destroy, only her spark somehow chips away at his anger. Despite Scarlett’s own painful history and the darkness surrounding this story, she’s actually quite a fun heroine. She’s feisty, with a smart mouth and smart wit. She’s fiercely proactive of those she loves and refuses to back down to anyone, let alone her very intimidating captor. Like Christiano, we find her softer layers as well- she’s suffered greatly from being a pawn in the machinations of greedy and corrupt men- men who by their birthright should protect and cherish her. BOTH of these characters are such powerful survivors- flawed, but beautiful. We empathize with them so easily- long before we know some of their truths.

The story starts out with an incredibly intense BANG- a full throttle, take no prisoners exposition that hooked me immediately. From there, our story slows down a smidge as these two characters start to orbit each other and clash...and as we start to piece together the secrets we only read between the lines at first. I caught on to some larger secrets earlier, and so the reveals felt a bit drawn out for me, though NK does a great job building the intrigue and emotional suspense. I’ve noticed recently with NK duets that the first book has a slower romantic pace, with a heavier focus on building the emotional base and the suspenseful architecture. And, this duet seems to be following a similar pattern. Which means this is a slow burn- Natasha really makes us ache as she builds the anticipation. The emotional connection and the chemistry between them took a while to click for me- once they did, I was addicted. There is a lot unspoken between these characters- a budding connection we don’t yet understand, but they have empathy for one another that starts to challenge their plan to use the other to get what they need. The pace accelerates quickly from there, with a barrage of betrayals, twists, and heartbreaking moments that lead to a heart stopping cliff hanger. THANK GOODNESS the next book is not far away- because by the end of this story I was obsessed with these two and am desperate to find out just what this ending means for their overarching story.

This is just what I like in mafia romantic suspense- it’s dark, unpredictable, sexy, and dangerous. A wild and dramatic adventure with a turbulent and messy love story at its center. I NEED BOOK 2!

Woah! This starts at full speed and doesn’t let go until the last page!! Taken on her wedding day, Scarlett De La Cruz’s life is going to change forever. Cristiano Grigori is going to protect and lay claim to Fiesty Scarlett whether she wants it or not. He is a mafia King who’s supposed to dispose of the cartel Princess, but can he? They may be enemies but sometimes those make the best allies...or does it? Two warring families...Only one can be on top. Who can you trust? This is fantastic dark and steamy mafia/cartel romance with plenty of suspense, action and tension to keep you reading. Cristiano is perfect in his role as a mafia head! This does end in a cliffhanger so be prepared. I must know what happens ASAP! Buckle up and get ready! Told in dual POV

Natasha Knight's stories are pure kindle crack. There is something about her amazing words that has me gripping the edge of my seat and pulling my hair in the same breath. Her writing is fabulous and her stories are addicting!! I am obsessed with Scarlett and Cristiano and their incredible story! With this Ring was dark, edgy and pure mafia goodness. I can not wait until the final book!!

Gah! Anyone will tell you that arranged marriage mafia stories are my absolute favorite trope. There is something about the love-hate scenes that I can't get enough of! I loved the banter and sexual tension in this story and how drawn to each other Cristiano and Scarlett were despite the volatile emotions between them. This story was intense, sexy and gripping and I can't wait for more! Bravo! 5 stars! ~Ratula

”A virgin when what I need is to fuck a whore.”
I gasp but when he takes my lower lip between his teeth, I close my eyes and let my head fall back. He releases my lip and kisses my neck, leaving a trail of small bites to my ear.
“I’m going to make you scream,” he whispers.

”I can break you. Snap your neck. Do you know how easy it would be?”

Oh, Cristiano, you delectable man.

I loved, loved, loved every second of this book. The sizzling chemistry and banter between Scarlett and Cristiano had me teetering on the edge of my seat. This book has all the elements I love; a dark, brooding, sinfully handsome H with a troubled past? Check. A h who’s feisty and is well-acquainted with the mafia lifestyle? Check. And an arranged/forced marriage trope? Check, check, check!!

Despite having witnessed some really gruesome situations in his life, Cristiano still possesses an inherent kindness that he tries not to show, but we get subtle glimpses of his goodness in the things he does and the things he says.

”Good. Check on the kid before you go to bed, will you? Take him what’s left of the cake.” I may not be very principled, but I always keep my promises.

The writing style is really intriguing and I found myself breezing through the book with record speed.
P.S. If you need me, I’ll be busy devouring the next book in this series.

You wanted an enemy Scarlett. I'll remember it.

Just Wow, Natasha is an amazing writer. This story was super epic. Mafia at it's best. It's been awhile since I enjoyed a book this much.

A solid 4.8 read for sure. I wanted Scarlet to soften, to yield to his volunerbility. It didn't happen. As I reflect there was no way it could Even as I the reader fell hard for Cristiano. I wanted his redemption and his pain. I got neither. Every time I thought he was being more human and less man on mission, I saw the truth of his pain and evilness. You don't overcome violence and abuse as a child. I applaud Natasha for keeping the characters true to their evolution. This was such a great read.

A ver.

I think by now it's obvious that Natasha is one of my favorite authors. She writes the best Mafia books and when i say the best i LITERALLY mean the best!!

Scarlett De La Cruz is a Cartel Princess, she was born in this world but she had no idea that she was sheltered. Until one day her life turns upside down when she is betrayed by her own family, now she is a pawn to be used as they please.

Cristiano Grigori is back from the dead. 10 years ago all his family was murdered brutally by the De La Cruz brothers but he miraculously survived. And now he will kill everyone who betrayed his family, leave one wolf alive, and the sheep are never safe.

Two warring powers... only one can be on top. Cristiano has to be focused and finish what he started, but with Scarlett in his life, he might end up losing more than what he anticipated.

I absolutely can't wait for the second book cause that cliffhanger almost KILLED ME!! And I'm SO SO SOOOOO CURIOUS about the other characters, hopefully we'll know more about them soon.

The queen of mafia does it again, she is the master at suspense and this will leave your heart pounding with how this story unfolds.

Who to trust and who is your enemy that is what you will be asking yourself through out this book, it has lots of twists that it will leave you on the edge of your seat turning the pages to find out what is going to happen next.

Scarlett is a feisty heroine that has been thrust into the mafia world because of her blood brothers but has no say in what will happen to her as she is just a pawn in both sides of her enemies. Cristiano has come back from the dead to take over the family name and take down the people who murdered his family, but you don't know who to trust and who not to.

The chemistry between this couple was explosive even though Scarlett wanted nothing to do with Cristiano and at first he didn't want nothing to do with her. She got recused from one tower just to be in another as Cristiano pawn, but she has to keep her little brother safe and he knows she will do anything for that to happen.

This is Natasha at her best, i absolutely love her books and this is up there with her best, and that ending bugger, i need the next book like now as this ends on a cliff hanger like you wouldn't believe, a gripping first book in this duet.

This book was FLAWLESS. Everything about it-I’m not even mad at the cliff hanger because it was literally that perfect. Read this IMMEDIATELY. I read this all in one sitting-I physically could not put the book down it was that good. This is probably one of the best mafia romances I’ve read, and definitely one of my top reads ever.
Natasha knight has created a story that literally has me hooked-the characters, Scarlett and Cristiano possessed some of the most explosive chemistry and hatred I’ve ever felt-seriously every page was dripping with emotion. They’ve both been wronged-so broken and maybe fighting a war they can’t win, but now add in this emotional roller coaster of a relationship and it’s combustible with a capital C!!!!! Run, don’t walk to get this book AS SOON AS IT COMES OUT!! I’m sitting here stunned with a book hangover of epic proportions until book 2 gets released!!

When i received the paperback of With This Ring as a surprise gift from Natasha,i had to check my calender.
Because i needed to see if it was still Christmas.....
Giving it an honest review in return is easy:
I loved it! (Except that cliffhanger, that is.....that one’s killing me!)

Scarlett’s life went to hell when she was just 12 years old,and it’s about to get even worse.
Because after all she’s already been through, she’s being forced to marry a man she hates.
Only, before that wedding takes place, she and her brothers are taken by the enemy.
Having to watch her 2 older halfbrothers get killed is no problem, but she’ll defend her little brother Noah with her own life if she has to!
The things she has to do to keep him safe, are messing with her mind though....
Because the enemy is getting under her skin, lighting up her body in ways she didn’t know it could.

Cristiano’s life is all about revenge ever since most of his family was murdered before his eyes.
Having spent 6 years in a coma,he has used the 4 after he awoke to eliminate the ones responsible.
And having the 2 men who pulled the trigger in front of him, feels good.
Having their two-timing uncle kill them, feels better.
But what to do with the sister and the youngest brother?

Marriage to get the power of her family behind him sounds like a plan.
Not one he likes, but he’s going to use her as long as he needs to get her out of his system.
For Scarlett it means yet another thing forced upon her,but she’ll do it for her little brother....

What happens after they “celebrate” their marriage,is evil!
And it’s called the cliffhanger from hell!
How am i supposed to make it to February 23????
I NEED “I Thee Take”!!!!!!

description

First installment of Natasha Knight's new mafia duet, With This Ring took me on a twisted path of revenge where alliances and betrayal rule.
"Whiskey at hand, hate in my heart and vengeance on my mind."

Scarlett De La Cruz, Cartel Princess is taken by the mafia leader Cristiano Grigori, the day of her arranged marriage. This rings the bell of a breathtaking journey of lust and power.
"Give Fury a little whiskey and she turns into a little kitten."

If you like a strong and sassy heroine who isn't afraid of challenging a ruthless, albeit quite attaching hero, you'll want to dive into this fast paced read. The atmosphere of Cristiano's estate gripped me, the intrigue and mystery surrounding the past kept me wondering. I cannot wait to read the next opus, I Thee Take.
“You and me, we’re enemies. Enemies to the end.”

I VOLUNTARILY REVIEWED AN ARC COPY OF THIS BOOK. THANK YOU!!!

POV : Dual

Cliffhanger : Yes

Hero : Cristiano Grigori. Ruthless and Dominant , the only that kept him motivated was to avenge his family's death.

Heroine : Scarlett De Luca. An innocent Trapped in a family of criminals. I loved how sassy and strong she is!

Pace of the story : Fast

Angst Rating : 4/10

Heat Rating : 8/10

Plot Summary :
Christiano Grigori is one of the last man left when his whole family was brutally killed. The only thing that keeps him alive is to kill the men responsible for his family's death. That is until he runs into a complication. A beautiful complication named Scarlett De Luca. The enemy. She was the daughter of the family who killed his family. There was something about her that captivated him. But killing her was something that he had already decided.

Scarlett De Luca has simply traded on prison for the other. Now she has to make the deal with the devil so that he spares her little brother and takes her instead. Is she going to regret it! Probably. There was something about Cristiano that captivated her and she hoped that he spares her in a peaceful way. How wrong she is. What Cristiano has in mind for her might be something she would have never thought.

Overall Opinion :
This book started with an absolute blast! The introduction of the characters and how they all were represented just made me more crazy for the upcoming events! Natasha Knight is the queen of Mafia Romance and there is no way she is not going to kill me in this on too!!

Cristiano and Scarlett have an amazing tale that will leave you begging for more and gasping for breath because the end is a major Cliffhanger that drove me so crazy!!! It was a typical captor captive Romance and I seriously can't wait for more from this author! I know there are a lot of twists to come because of the events in this book . A must read for all the dark Romance lovers out there who are addicted to themes like Mafia Romance and Arrange Marriage!

Final Verdict :
The Twists and turns drove me crazy!
The book started with a blast but somewhere along the way it became a typical captor captive Romance.
Highly recommended to all the Mafia Romance lovers out there!
