Fluffy (The Do-Over Series) Kindle Edition
I'm a professional fluffer. It's NOT what you think. I stage homes for a living. Real estate agents love me, and my work stands on its own merits.
Sigh. Get your mind out of the gutter. Go ahead. Laugh. I'll wait.
See? That's the problem. My career has used the term "fluffer" for decades. I didn't even know there was a more... lascivious definition of the term.
Until it was too late.
The ad for a "professional fluffer" on Craigslist seemed like divine intervention. My last unemployment check was in the bank. I was desperate. Rent was due. The ad said cash paid at the end of the day. The perfect job!
Staging homes means showing your best angle. The same principle applies in making a certain kind of movie.
Turns out a "fluffer" doesn't arrange decorative pillows on a couch. They arrange other soft, round-ish objects.
The job isn't hard. Er, I mean, it is — it's about being hard. Or, well... helping other people to be hard.
Oh, man...
And that's the other problem. A man. No, not one of the stars on the movie set. Will Lotham - my high school crush.
The owner of the house where we're filming. Illegally. In a vacation rental.
By the time the cops show up, what I thought was just a great house staging gig turned into a nightmare involving pictures of me with an undressed star, Will rescuing me from an arrest, and a humiliating lesson in my own naivete.
My job turned out to be so much harder than I expected. But you know what's easier than I ever imagined?
Having all my dreams come true.

New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Julia Kent writes romantic comedy with an edge. Since 2013, she has sold more than 2 million books, with 4 New York Times bestsellers and more than 21 appearances on the USA Today bestseller list. Her books have been translated into French and German, with more titles releasing in the future.
From billionaires to BBWs to new adult rock stars, Julia finds a sensual, goofy joy in every contemporary romance she writes. Unlike Shannon from Shopping for a Billionaire, she did not meet her husband after dropping her phone in a men's room toilet (and he isn't a billionaire she met in a romantic comedy).
She lives in New England with her husband and three children where she is the only person in the household with the gene required to change empty toilet paper rolls.

- Reviewed in Canada on November 11, 2021Verified PurchaseSome parts of this were annoying to read. Her thinking was very random and awkward and I kinda just zoomed past chunks of it to get to the "good stuff". Long story short; lots of unnecessary pages of reading taht don't contribute to the overall story. But the rest of the book was awesome. I don't believe we got to see much of how Will thinks (POV) but Mallory was super funny, feisty and awesome. The ending was the perfect way to get you excited for the next story.
- Reviewed in Canada on July 1, 2023Verified PurchaseThe wit, charm.. The laugh out loud and wake the kid moments... I might have gotten the glares from the kid, but the read was so totally worth it!
- Reviewed in Canada on August 8, 2022Verified PurchaseI really enjoyed this book as a first in the series.
Personally, I would have liked more angst but I did find this book at times funny and authentic. Some parts a bit over the top, but I read to escape so it’s not always about things being so realistic.
- Reviewed in Canada on May 10, 2019Verified PurchaseFunny story and great characters. You will enjoy this book, it is so funny. You won't want to put it down.
- Reviewed in Canada on October 27, 2023This is a fun, entertaining read. Will and Mallory are interesting, entertaining, fun, relatable characters. I enjoyed this second chance/high school crush romance. Will and Mallory have a very interesting 😊 meet cute that set the tone for the story. I enjoyed the story and romance – at times I laughed out loud and others had me chuckling. This is one of those romances that hits the right spot when you need it. The secondary characters added a lot to the fabric of the story and the entertainment value.
I enjoyed the audio version of this story.
- Reviewed in Canada on April 30, 2019This is just a hilarious story! Talk of cream pies & spit roasting make it laugh out loud funny... The verbal diarrhea is just too hilarious...
A talk about private body parts by phone or in person? Why not?
The Dancy character is something else... & the comment about “You don’t deserve to feel dirty, unless you want to...” Wow...
A conversation about sex toys for dogs? Sure!
Spit boasting? Why not!
Talk about premarital sex during a half date - half business dinner by your parents in front of said date? Check.
How Will dealt with the human gadfly (& others) at the high school reunion... Nice!
A best friend willing to do anything to help & defend you... Check ... (By the way, I love Perky, Mal’s best friend!)
So many texting errors, each one more laughable than the last? Yep...
Purple eggplants & expectation management jokes? Why not!
Mallory, the fluffer, in bed with fluff? Ok then...
Kisses that are exponential... Check!
Nothing is off limits...
Loved, loved, loved it!
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
- Reviewed in Canada on June 4, 2019This is a very entertaining second-chance romance. Mallory and her besties, Persephone and Fiona are intelligent, independent women living once again in their home town. I loved their connection. With their ten year high school reunion looming on the horizon, will Mallory tempt fate and attend, knowing her life may be dissected by people whose opinion should no longer matter? When Will Lotham, her unrequited high school crush returns, her past collides with her present and she’s a hot mess once again. I wish she hadn’t been quite so over the top in her insecurities. It seemed at times that she listened too often to her inner voice – that of her 14 year old self. Despite that, I loved the witty banter, and steamy chemistry, along with the push and pull between Mallory and Will. Good thing Will was a patient and determined man! The story is well written, with well-defined and engaging characters. There’s plenty of drama, some angst, several laugh-oud-loud moments plus some steamy encounters.

4.0 out of 5 stars Lovely!
Verified PurchaseI had so much fun reading Fluffy! Of course there are a lot of stereotypes from high school perpetuated but it's one of those things that are a sure go-to whenever you need to cheer up or to be cuddled!

5.0 out of 5 stars Hilarious
Verified PurchaseAn absolutely hilarious story from Julia Kent, I cannot recommend this book highly enough. If you're looking for a entertaining rom-com then this book will be a perfect choice in my opinion.
Mallory crosses paths with her high-school crush Will, in a rather disastrous-yet hysterical way, that had me similtaniously rolling around with laughter as well as cringing for poor Mallory. From here their relationship progresses in a very enjoyable and engaging way.
The characters in this novel are charming, funny, and witty and there's plenty of misunderstandings to keep the story moving forward at a jaunty and absorbing pace.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hilarious!!!
Verified PurchaseIf you want hysterical with a happy ending, this is the book. It's not your typical blah blah blah love story. It is totally relatable, written with a humour that keeps you guessing. Definitely a fun read!

4.0 out of 5 stars funny and sweet
Verified PurchaseThe was a good palate cleanser. Clean and funny without any in depth romance. Light and flirty with a few harsh undertones. Enjoyed the banter between friends and had a good time getting to know the back story.

4.0 out of 5 stars From the title you’re thinking “Did it go there?”
Verified PurchaseManaged the difficult trick of a not quite Too Stupid to Live heroine just outside the joke of being a Craigslist ‘fluffer’ throughout
V funny, although the opening few chapters are best. There’s a sag in the middle where it takes things too seriously.
