Crash Into Me

A sexy and emotional romance that transcends the ideas of life and death. Can you suspend disbelief?

For one entire and blissful night, I wasn’t Megan the widow. I was Megan out having a drink with her best friend. I was Megan, getting hit on by a hot, younger guy. I said no, but everything inside of me said yes.

I was still grieving and healing the loss of Sam. Getting my life back to some kind of normal. Until it got complicated. Very, very complicated. Because that hot young guy who wasn’t even supposed to be on my radar - he came crashing in with this weird electric pulse between us and chemistry that’s off the charts. If that wasn’t complicated enough – Liam is a student in my creative writing class with enough complications of his own.

The words in Liam’s poems remind me of Sam’s. He says things that are too familiar. Knows things about me no one else knows. It’s like seeing a ghost. I wasn’t supposed to fall for him, but my happily ever after is gone, and Liam’s arms feel like home.

But when everything starts to make sense, and the pieces come together in the end, am I in love with Liam? Or the memory of Sam?

Megan’s life completely changed when she lost the love of her life in a tragic accident. Eighteen months later she is beginning to take small steps towards her future without her husband Sam. She is due to return back to work when her bestie convinces her to enjoy a much needed night out.

You know how people often say that you find things when you least expect it? Megan definitely does that when she meets Liam. He is gorgeous, flirtatious and very charismatic. He is also much younger than her (by about 10 years). However, there is an undeniable connection between them.

As soon as Liam laid eyes on Megan he was completely drawn to her. They only spend a small amount of time together but it was enough for him to know that this woman is special. Both of them are completely blind sided when he walks into his creative writing class to find that Megan is his professor. Megan is relieved nothing happened that night she first met Liam, that would have made her life more complicated than it is now.

‘If I could, I’d take it all away. Every tear that fell, every sleepless night and every moment of sadness. I’d swallow it whole, I’d take it on myself if I had to. All I wanted was to see her smile.’

Liam has other ideas, he feels something for Megan that he never has with anyone else and he plans to slowly and gently woo her. Megan tries desperately to fight what she knows is there, she finds herself thinking of Liam all the time. Their paths seem to keep crossing and there is a deep, unexplainable connection that they both feel.

When things start happening that at first seem coincidental but become more frequent, Megan feels like she is going mad. In some ways Liam reminds her of Sam but what she is feeling for Liam seems to be on a much deeper soul mate level. Sam may have been the love of her life but maybe Liam will be the love of her lifetime?

‘I want you… I need you… I crave you… you taste like my favourite flavour… you sound like my favourite song… when I’m with you I forget about my brokenness…’

When I first read the blurb for this book I thought it was going to be all about a forbidden romance but it was so much more than that. It has a really unique plot and a great twist. This was my first story from this author and I was really impressed with her work. The only thing I didn’t like was the last chapter, before the epilogue, it just felt like an odd thing to include. I definitely want to read more from Alyne Hart!

Holy. Crap. Soul mates. Do they exist? I’ve always thought so. I believe that there’s one person out there for every person in existence. Whether they find each other or not is to be proven. In the case of Megan and Liam? What a wild ride. This book had an amazing and unique concept and it was executed flawlessly. I wasn’t left with more questions than answers. Everything was completely believable and I couldn’t stop turning the pages until I reached the end. Another job well done. I can’t wait to see what’s next!

It took me a few days to write this review for so many reasons. This is the first kind of book I have ever read like this. The originality was such a breath of fresh air, I truly didn't know I was missing. I was lucky enough to get an ARC of this and I am darn glad I did. Not only is tis story beyond wonderful and gut tugging, there is a part near and dear to my heart. When I got to Oliver the cat... I don't think I've ever shed such happy tears in my life. Keep being awesome little dude! Twitch sure is. And, Alyne, just so you know. Twitch saved me too.

I am new to this author and I was really excited to read this book just by the description along. It sounded very interesting to me. Something different. This book was full of so many different emotions, I felt for these characters. It was like I was right there with them every step of the way. Meg went through such a tragic event in her life and had her amazing friend Gem there to support her. Which I think every woman needs a friend like her! Liam...words can’t even describe how amazing this man is for Meg. Then all of sudden...the story just turns for a huge twist...everything that starts happening is unexplainable and is like surreal but is totally beautiful ❤️ I loved every minute of it! It was like what is going to happen next and I just couldn’t wait to find out. Like literally! The more you read of this book, the more layers you peeled back of this story. Felt like you were never gonna get to the heart of it! And, the end was the craziest turn of events that I never saw coming!!!!!!!!! Holy smokes! Grab your copy today, you will totally love it! I guarantee it!!!!

This is the story of Megan and Liam. And Sam. Now that I’ve got your attention, here we go.
Megan is a widow but she’s not your average romance book widow who feels endless guilt about the prospect of moving on from her loved one. She had complicated emotions. Very complicated emotions. Super complicated emotions and they all feel justified and that made it easy to root for her. This is always an issue for me with heroines that are widows and I think this author did a great job of showing the real depth of the loss felt, which made Megan’s emotions understandable…even when I didn’t want to be understanding.
And Liam. Well Liam is yummy and young, which starts off as one of those non-problem problems that we’ve all done a time or two. I loved Liam, he was the Pacey of book boyfriends here. Kind and patient and sweet, but naughty and commanding when she needed it.
I loved the unique twist of this story, it felt supernatural but not quite. Just one of those bursts of magic that happens in humanity and it made Crash Into Me an even better story for that quirk.
The journey of Megan and Liam was everything it should be. It sweet and hot, maddening and sad at times. And there was a healthy doze of Grey’s Anatomy references thrown in to make me smile.
Crash Into Me was simply wonderful.

Filled with so much delicious smexy goodness with a love heart center

Crash Into Me is the first book in the Crescent Bay series and this is a well written and beautifully woven together story. When I read the book description I knew I wanted to read this story as it really grabbed my attention, as I just love a sexy older woman/younger man story, and the book did the same. The characters of Megan and Liam are well developed, intense, fun, romantic, complicated, have depth and emotion. The situations they find themselves in together range from free and sexy to button up and complicated. I really enjoyed this book and would RECOMMEND it to other readers. I am interested to see what the next story is going to be about in this series.

I received a copy of this book and am leaving my honest review. My opinions are all my own.

Holy smokes do we crash reading this book! All I have to say is pay attention to the prologue cause that is not who I thought was the one stating this (best way to state this without a spoiler). Megan has had her world turned upside down and is struggling to move on after her husband, Sam passes away unexpectedly. All she wanted was one night to let go, which she does, but a chance encounter with Liam was supposed to be just that. A one time encounter. HAHA!! Fate has other plans for Megan! Put aside that Liam ends up in one of her class, this pull and magnetic chemistry between the two is beyond strong. Add in a cat who truly is working on nine lives and a twist many of us will not see coming. Your heart, jaw and whatever method of how your reading this book will all drop, trust me on that one! I'm still at a speechless loss days later on how events prevailed and how things interconnected. Not in a bad way (totally in a good way). This is my second book read by this author and she gets you each time you read her books (hooks you in, throws a twist and has you smacking yourself with revelations that we should have saw, but didn't). She gives us outside of the box stories that are so realistic it leaves you wanting more. I'm excited to see what other books will be written by this author. I highly recommend this book!

Wonderful Story Beautifully Told! Great Narration🎧
Crash into Me
Crescent Bay, Book 1
By: Alyne Hart
Narrated by: Isabella Starr

Alyne Hart does it again, she delivers another fantastic novel, and this one is a beauty with a whole lot of heart. This story is well written with original and interesting storylines that are captivating from start to end. The characters are realistic, easy to relate to and connect with. I adored both lead characters, Megan and Liam, each had their own issues, dealing with their own losses and inner demons. Megan is a widow in her mid 30’s, her husband Sam was killed in a tragic accident. She is struggling with the loss and moving on. One night while out with friends she meets someone but she is not ready to go out with anyone. Liam never got over losing his twin brother at nine years old. In his late teens his life takes another turn when he is thrown a curve ball. He is in his 20’s and struggling to live life again, when he sees her, he is drawn to her and is not sure what it is about her. He gives her his number but never hears from her but he does get to see her again, she is teaching his creative writing class. When he turns in his assignment she freaks out on him, his poem sounded like something her husband Sam wrote. I loved how the author keeps you wondering as you watch these two get to know each other, at times it is like they knew each other their whole lives. This book is beautifully plotted, there is plenty of drama, some amazing twists and all sorts of heartfelt emotions. It is a story of love, loss, learning to love again, also a story of fate and soulmates, very inspiring and mystical. Alyne Hart, thank you for another awesome story and the emotional rollercoaster ride.

I listened to the Audible edition, Isabella Starr is a talented narrator and voice artist. She brings the characters to life, giving each their own voice and personality. She does a great job portraying each character, grasping their persona with perfection, sounding just as I picture them to sound. She is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another great listen🎧

This is a book filled with grief, despair, darkness, acceptance, forgiveness, passion and a lot of love. There is a self-harm trigger warning.

Megan is beginning to come out of the devastating loss of her husband about a year and a half ago. Normal isn’t something she knows anymore she’s just going for making it through the day. Deciding to take up a friend on a night out she runs into a young man that is very interested in her. She thinks he’s too young but his interest is flattering and scary all at the same time. While she rebuffs him her brain likes him and she finds herself thinking of him more than she feels she should.

Sam is battling demons of his own, but when he first sees Megan, he is immediately drawn to her. So, while she said no initially, he did give her his number and he hopes she decides to feel brave enough to use it.

The two of them are drawn to each other and when they find themselves meeting up in an unlikely place it feels like the universe is saying yes to them. Megan is feeling a sense of déjà vu with Sam as he seems to know things about her only her deceased husband Liam would know.

Megan is very resistant and keeps throwing the age difference out as a reason they shouldn’t be together, but persistent Sam breaks through all of her barriers.

This is a gut-wrenching story that will have you reaching for the tissues a few times. There is passion, friendships, overbearing family, mystery and lots of love. You will also have to decide if you believe in reincarnation or spirit travel as a lot of that is interspersed within the story as you learn about Megan, Sam and Liam.

I received an ARC and I am leaving a voluntary review.

Crash into Me
Crescent Bay, Book 1
By: Alyne Hart
Narrated by: Isabella Starr

Alyne Hart always captures my attention with her stories. This is the first book in the Crescent Bay series and I was completely spellbound. So many slight taboos in this one, I didn't know what to expect. Age gap, teacher-student, grieving widow, it has a little bit of everything and more! Megan lost her husband suddenly over a year ago, and has not yet been able to get on with her life. When she is approached by Liam in a bar, she immediately feels a kinship with him, but just can't bring herself to go out with him. Liam comes with his own set of baggage. He is significantly younger, and has had some horrible life circumstances. The pull towards Megan is so strong though, he feels there could be something. Discomfort and secrets may keep these two apart. Will they figure out if it is love? I don't know who I love more, Megan or Liam. I think it's easy to relate to Megan. Her grief is something that is easily understood. Liam is just too easy to love. So broken, and slowly healing, and so loyal and loving, I feel for the man. This story is wonderful, full of living life, finding hope and second chances. I loved it.

Isabella Starr is fantastic. I love her voices and always know when I pick up one of her books, I am in for a treat. She can fill a story with emotions and passion and make my ears happy.

Title: Crash Into Me
Author: Alyne Hart
Format: Audio
Narrator: Isabella Starr
Genre: Romance, forbidden (professor/student), age gap, healing
Standalone: Yes
Part of a Series: Book 1 in Crescent Bay
POV: Megan and Liam
Steam Level: Slow burn to toasty
5/5

Crash Into Me is one of those books that send you on a roller-coaster of emotion. Megan is a widow who, on a rare night of letting go, meets a younger man who she's instantly drawn to. Fighting guilt for being attracted to another man and later learning that he's her student, Megan and Liam have to fight to be together. Throwing in a twist, Alyne Hart masterfully weaves together this journey of love, loss, grief, and survivor's guilt with a touch of paranormal that gives this story a haunting feel, leaving you to wonder how Liam knows what he knows, says what he says, remembers what he hasn't experienced. Crash Into Me was very good. I recommend having a tissue box nearby.

I received this book for free from Audiobook Obsession. This is my honest and voluntary review.

It all started in a bar. when Megans friend told her she needed to get out of the house. It's been 18 months since her husband, Sam, passed away. There in the bar, Liam went over to speak with her. When their hands touched, it was like an electric bolt went through them both. How is it that Liam felt he met her before? Meghan can't understand how he knows so much about her? Why does he says things to her that Sam has said? Why is Liam having dreams of Meghan ,of memories he never had? This is a story of a little mystery, a taboo romance, older woman, younger man. I enjoyed this story.
Isabella Starr narration was very good. I enjoyed listening to this story. 🎧audiobookobsessionreviewer🎧

Megan has lost her husband in a car accident and feels lost and grief stricken. At the age of 12 she had her palm read and was told she would have 2 great loves but as the lady continued her grandmother dragged her away.
Now 18 months later she meets Liam and things he says and does freaks her out as it is exactly the same as her husband.
Liam was lost and in despair after losing his twin at a young age and he can't see his way out. What happens next alters the course of his life and he meets Megan when he is just starting to feel OK. He keeps getting flashbacks and visions and can't get his head around what is going on but he is absolutely positive that he loves Megan and has done from the minute he laid eyes on her.
A truly heartfelt story that has a twist.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book. This is in a way a second chance romance with a HEA ending.
Megan is a recent widow. She is too young to have already lost so much. When she meets Liam at a bar they have an instant connection but she thinks he is way too young for her.
Liam has been through a recent trauma and is just starting to get his life on track again. Finally moving out of his parents house and heading back to college to get a degree. Imagine his surprise when he sees the woman he met at the bar is his professor.
This was my first book by this author and it was so refreshing reading something different. I just knew I had the little twist figured out but was totally wrong. Definitely pulled at the heart strings.

Wow!! Talk about a soul searching romance. Megan and Liam story is heartbreaking, magical and makes you think.

I originally wanted to read it because it was an older woman/younger man romance but this one went in directions I wasn't expecting.

I don't want to spoil this book. I definitely cried, laughed, felt that these characters were so much more. This is the kind of book that makes romance epic and prove that we don't choose it, nor can we chase it but when it's real and deep, it's unexplainable!!!

Don't just read it...feel it! I received an ARC for an honest and voluntarily review.

I went into thinking this was a combination of tropes - older woman/younger man, teacher/student, and something along the lines of reincarnation/soulmates. Those are all pieces but not the depth of the story. The book has an interesting twist I didn’t expect. I thought the answer to what was going on was going to be predictable but I was so wrong.

At one point there’s a conversation between Megan and Liam about finding the deeper meaning and symbolism in a Robert Frost poem. As Liam says sometimes it’s more simple and in this case the saw is just a saw. Some things in life can’t be explained.

An advanced reader copy of this book was provided by the author/publisher with no expectations and in no way influences my review.

This is a new author for me, what a first impression! I cannot wait to read more. Megan is a widow, she lost the love of her life, Sam. Its been about a year and a half, Megan is grieving, healing and working towards returning to work. Her bestie suggests a night out, during which she meets Liam. Life can be funny and cruel, Liam has some of Sam's characteristics that spark memories for Megan. Liam also turns out to be one of her students. This was a great story that pulled me along and kept me interested as Megan and Liam circle one another in an attempt to find happiness. Enjoy!

Wow.... what a lot of emotion packed into this fantastic story about an older female college professor and a young male student.
Widowed and trying to come to terms with the death of her husband, Megan is just starting to get her life back together when she meets a guy in the bar one night whilst out with her best friend, little do they know how their lives will intertwine from there on.
A very emotional and heartbreaking story and well worth a read.

Wowthis book is moat all what I expected—its do much better! I give this book just shy of five gold stars simply because it took a tad too long—for me—to get rolling. But once it did…Ohmigod!! The storyline is amazing; the characters truly heartbreaking; the plot twists and turns are off the charts; and the HEA will have you cheering out loud.
You really should grab a copy of this book—along with some tissues—and be prepared for a kickass read! (I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book and really enjoyed it.) ❤️❤️

Megan is a widowed single mother who is grieving the loss of her husband. She is out having drinks with a friend when she connects with a man that is her junior. Everything in her tells her no but there is something about this young man. They meet again when he turns up in her writing class. His poems remind her of her late husband but is it Liam that she is falling for or the memory of her husband. This story drew me in and kept me glued to the pages. I connected with Megan cheering her on to finding happiness that she deserved. I am volunteering to leave a review for an arc of this book.

Wow. This was not what I was expecting at all when I started this novel. I thought, oh here we go with some weird paranormL soul switching. Yeah, totally not what happened but I was a little confused on the cat thing at the end (I don't want to spoil too much). Overall, I really enjoyed this one, it had drama, great smut, and soul mates. 4 out of 5 stars for sure because the ending was a bit confusing.
