Ruined

This is a great introduction to this trilogy. We get a fantastic buildup of the characters, great plot development, clashing emotions and of course we’re left desperate for more. Poppy is an innocent, sheltered young woman discovering herself and the world for the first time, while trying to navigate the secrets and lies that she’s finding suddenly surround her. My heart broke continuously for Poppy throughout the book in ways I was not expecting. I am looking forward to seeing how she develops and finds her way. Ronan is a mysterious and complex character especially in contrast to the very inexperienced Poppy. We only get tiny glimpses into who he is in this book as he almost gives the impression of a foreboding ghost. He is a character that will be very interesting and intriguing to watch as we move into Broken Hearts. This is without a doubt a VERY slow burn read, the encounters we get between Ronan and Poppy are intense and they’ll definitely leave you yearning for more. The overall feeling of this book gave me such conflicted feelings of who or what should or shouldn’t be trusted while leaving me with a sense of incredible things to come. Stolen Hearts is an amazing start to this twisted, dark romance trilogy, and with that insane cliffhanger, I cannot wait for the next book.

4.5 stars for Stolen Hearts by M. Okeefe. This next book in the Midnight Dynasty will leave you utterly captivated and wanting so much more. Poppy is related to the Constantine’s and tries to avoid any extra drama in her already difficult life. She is trying to raise her little sister after her parents death while navigating and arranged marriage to a abusive husband. Ronan is an enforcer for the Constantine family. He is dark and dangerous in every way imaginable. This book is loaded with many secrets and twists and it will leave you guessing throughout. Slow burning angst just makes it all the more torturous too. Can’t wait for the next book in the series! 

Stolen Hearts by Molly O'Keefe sucked me in from the very first chapter and I didn't come up for air till the last page! It was an action packed, twisted, intense and angsty rollercoaster. This is the first book of a trilogy so naturally the characters and plot are still building slowly. Poppy is such a complex character. Broken. Bruised. But still brave and resilient and full of love. The author captured her doubts and confusions and inner struggles beautifully. Ronan is the kind of antihero who gives me butterflies and goosebumps. He can be cruel and arrogant and just everything harsh. But I can also feel the underlying softness and desperation when it comes to Poppy. They have a twisted chemistry. Pushing and pulling. Igniting fires with magnetic friction.The story is full of so many twists and turns and I am shocked and dazed. A lot of things don't make sense and I am hoping to find all the answers in next books. It's a complicated mix of dangers, deceits, conspiracies.
