From USA Today Bestselling author, the second book in the Laurel Springs Emergency Response Team Series

If you don't love, you can't get hurt...

Nick Kepler

One thing my childhood taught me was never show my emotions. Don’t make memories. Don’t count on other people. Don’t hope for the best.

All that changed when I was adopted by Ryan and Whitney Kepler. Begrudgingly I let them into my life, along with my new sister and a best friend I would lay down my life for. But giving up my heart and accepting love in return from Kelsea Harrison? It’s the hardest thing I’ve ever tried to do. And the truth is? I’m not sure if I’m that strong.

Kelsea Harrison

From the very moment I met Nick Kepler I knew he would be the love of my life. Problem is I haven’t been able to convince him of that yet.

When our best friends get married, Nick and I spend a drunken night letting our walls down and losing all our inhibitions. In one moment I’m given everything I ever wanted. Then, in the blink of an eye it’s taken away from me.

The question is, can I be strong for the both of us?

The answer? I have to be.

Second book in the series, Nick & Kelsea’s story. It’s emotional, angsty, heart warming and full of love! Once again, family, love a support brings these two characters together. Working through past trauma isn’t easy and reliving it through another young victim bring you to your knees.

We get to see the characters from Moonshine Task Force once again, as they continue to bring love to this next round of adults.

Great work once again by this amazing author!.

Suppression by Laramie Briscoe is the second book in her Laurel Springs Emergency Response Team series. This is the next generation awesomeness of the Moonshine Task Force series. So while readers of the the MTF books will get a kick out of the characters involvement in the LSERT series it is all about the new kids. Suppression is the story of Nick Kepler and Kelsea Harrison and is heartfelt, emotional, angsty and wonderful.

Nick was rescued by the Keplers when he was in his early teens. A life of abuse and neglect finally came to an end when he joined their family but it seems as though he has always been waiting for the other shoe to drop. As a result he has never allowed anyone too close outside of the Kepler's. Even Kelsea and he has liked her for a long time.

Kelsea knows some of the trouble Nick has had to deal with but she is about done putting herself out there for him. While they excel at friendship he just can't seem to let her in any closer than that. But as they both are drawn to each other and their feelings are obvious Nick is getting better at letting her close. But then an opportunity falls into their laps and they have to completely change their dynamic or risk another's well-being.

Loved this so much. There has not been a Laramie book so far that I haven't been invested in and this whole Laurel Springs family is one I love to visit again and again. Enjoy!

I seriously do not know how Laramie Briscoe does it. I fell in love with Laurel Springs while reading the Moonshine task force and I was so happy when this new series came out. Each book I read I fall more in love with this town and these people. This story was Nick and Kelsea. I was really looking forward to reading it and this book did not disappoint. I read it in one sitting and it left me with wanting more. I fell in love with Nick. It broke my heart with what he went through as a child but he turned into a great man. Kelsea was such a sweet person. She has been in love with Nick for half her life but no matter what she does he always pushes her away. Now Nick and Kelsea have a chance to change the fate of another little boy if they work together as couple. Will Nick be able to let Kelsea in? Will Kelsea be able to break down his walls? I highly suggest picking up this book and finding out the answer to those question. This book is such an amazing read. I am honestly hoping the perhaps the next book in this series will be about Karsyn and Tucker. I voluntarily reviewed this book in exchange for an honest review.

I don’t know how the author does is. Every Laurel Springs book manages to be even better than the one before it. Sweet and sexy and so full of big emotions. This is not a book you want to read out in public. The fact that that’s exactly what I did is the only reason I didn’t break down into a full-on ugly crying fit. My only option was to remain stoic and blink a lot to clear the tears from my vision. Kelsea is a sweetheart. I’ve adored her for as long as we’ve known her. Sassy, spunky, and utterly devoted to Nick, she’s always been one of my favorites. Nick repeatedly broke my heart. I just wanted to cuddle him close and convince him he was worthy of the love this amazing extended family lavished on him. The unexpected family situation this pair ends up in could only happen to these two. The whole emergency response family would have stepped up, but I’m not sure how many of them would have done so in the same way as Nick and Kels. I don’t know what we should be expecting next, but I know I need to read it as soon as I can get my hands on it.
I received a complimentary advanced copy of the book from the author.

I'm loving this LSERT series! Suppression is book 2 and this is Nick and Kels story. I'm so happy that Nick was able to move forward and let go of his past and start a life with Kels. We also meet little Darren and this was a lovely twist I wasn't expecting in this story. Can't wait for book 3!

Finally we get Nick's story, been dying to read this one. Poor Nick he has been thru so much in his childhood, and get seem to get passed it. Kelsea has wanted Nick for such a long time, she just needs to break past his wall he has up and help him thru his tough moments. Loved these two, both such great characters, both deserve an hea of their own.

Nick had such a traumatic childhood then was adopted by the cop who rescued him from that life. Unfortunately memories get the best of us and he needed Kelsea was just the woman to remind him he was worthy of love, family and friends who would stand with him and support him. 5+ stars.

I have read this series and the MTF series a couple of times now. This book being my favourite of this series. I love the journey Nick and Kelsea take, the steps they're prepared to make to ensure the safety of one little boy who could otherwise be left unseen, another number in a sea of numbers.

Laramie Briscoe writes very well, and really has the reader caught up with her words, hence the need for tissues. Having read Nick and Kelsea's stories at least three times and therefore knowing the end, it's the journey that brings out the emotions.

As an English woman who has only ever visited the States once and that being the North -West, I never really thought much of those from the Southern states, only really knowing a few - probably more joking things than real. However, if the Southern boys are half as good as these boys are portrayed to be, I'd move there in a nanosecond !! I mean who doesn't love a man with what I've decided is a sexy southern draawl, is good looking with a killer body, as polite as they come, oh and best yet, all alpha!

If you like all those things, plus fierce loyalty and a strong heart to love with, then read these books, only word of advice, begin with Renegade from the Moonshine Task Force series as they're these sexy ladies and gents' parents 😊

This book really tugged on my heartstrings. The story of Nick and Kelsea. Nick’s upbringing has made him emotionally unavailable. He doesn’t want to fall in love, but fate has other ideas. Whilst doing his job as a police officer, a young boy comes into his life and turns his world upside down.
