    I loved this story that takes you into the mind and life of an addict. Hadley is addicted to Ander and well Ander is addicted to Hadley and something else as the title implies. Definite trigger warnings but I truly enjoyed this love story and am moving onto black clouds of cotton next! C M Radcliffe is quickly becoming a fast one click fav of mine ❤️

    Wow, this story is powerful, raw and hits the senses hard; it's reality at its very basic form. This story was wonderfully written in every way. C. M. Radcliff has shown in her writing just what surrounds us all every day, but most of us choose to bury our heads in the sand where drugs or addiction of any kind rears its ugly head.

    This story is a Young Adult story, dealing with sensitive subjects of addiction and with a romance trying to get off the ground. I loved both of these main characters. Each had their own issues they were having to cope with. Hadley is a strong young woman with a life plan who didn't want to fall in love, particularly at this time. Ander is living on the edge; good-looking, charming and popular but he's hiding a secret that will affect their relationship and lives in the months to come.

    Reading this story was addictive but frustrating. I tried to put myself in the place of these characters and then wonder what I would do in the same situation. I cannot recommend this book enough. Although it ends on a slight cliff hanger, I cannot wait to see where Hadley and Ander go next in their continuing story of this tortured soul of a man and a girl who is trying to save him. Absolutely wonderful stuff.

    This story captivated me from the start. I couldn't turn the pages quick enough, it was toxic, tragic and yet beautiful.
    My heart bled and broke for Hadley and Ander.

    Opium Skies isn't for the faint of heart. It's raw, honest and so many people's truths.
    I can't wait for the next book, because I loved every heart wrenching moment of Opium Skies.

    You know my friends, there will come a time you will read a book that will touch you so profoundly that it will leave you wandering aimlessly for days afterwards in a perpetual state of shock, worry, and frustration. You will go through tears, sadness, still thinking about the book, going back and reading parts again. You will be anticipating the next book and at the same time overcome with so much emotion from the first book.

    THIS was my emotional state after reading Opium Skies. I was not only riding the hot mess express, I’m the freaking train conductor. I am so blown away and in awe of C.M.Radcliff and at the brilliance that she displayed in this book. If you haven’t read her yet…STOP EVERYTHING NOW!! And start devouring her books, because you my book lovin' buddies, have been missing out.

    Ander and Hadley’s story hurts, y’all. I’m not gonna lie. It’s so rivetingly raw and serves you up the harsh truths of love in a world of addiction. What it’s like to be head over heels in love with a liar, with a promise breaker, with someone who will hurt you, because they ultimately love the high more than they love themselves.

    This book is gut-wrenching in its realness, it cuts to the core, because it’s so authentic. I felt like I had a front row seat to the events as they unfolded. Because this author's attention to detail was top notch. I could close my eyes and picture every single detail. Sights, sounds and smells. No detail too small, just enough to paint the perfect picture in my mind. I mentally was on this journey with them. From the witty banter fun filled moments, to the sexy and steamy moments.

    To the moments that left me crying my eyes out a blubbering mess (and totally getting WTF looks from my family) my friends, be ready to hurt for these characters that I fell so quickly in love with. You will too! Characters that are by no means perfect, but imperfectly perfect phenomenally written characters. They had unbelievable chemistry from the get go which made their obstacles that much more heartbreaking. I can’t wait for the next book because I am literally left on the edge of my seat grasping at any hint of what’s to come of these characters.

    I want them to have the future not only I desire for them but that I think they deserve. I’m holding out hope for a HEA, but I also know that it seems like at this point my loves, Hadley and Ander are going to have to go through the nine circles of hell and back to get to that HEA. That is even if they even have a shot… And right now, they have just passed that first circle of hell. Love isn't the issue. One is on a fast path of destruction...Question is will they take the other down with them?

    It's so hard dealing with someone who has an drug addiction. There is so much you ho through trying to help them. As well as you trying to understand d why there seems like it nothing you do for them help. Been there done that. And it hurts to watch them day in and day out go lower and lower into another world where you can't reach them. This was a good book.     Opium Skies was an intense, powerful, thought provoking story. It's not a story to be taken lightly, so if you're after a hearts and flowers romance then maybe this book isn't for you.

    Alder and Hadley are two characters that are both fighting their own forms of addiction. I loved their connection and I felt how much they cared for each other, my heart hurt seeing them struggle and how toxic their relationship became.

    That ending broke me, but it needed to be that way to keep the realism of how much addiction changes people. This Author really showed the ugly side of drug dependency and didn't sugar coat over it.
    It was uncomfortable at times to read but necessary and it made the story so much more powerful.

    I'm hoping that Alder and Hadley can beat the odds and survive the terrifying road that's ahead of them.
    I'm scared to read it because I know it's going to hurt, but I can't wait to start book 2.

    You know when you see a book and immediately know it will hit all your emotions? Opium Skies was this book for me. This author knows how to bring you to your knees in a most beautiful and painful fashion. Her subject matters are difficult, yet so well written, you sometimes forget to breathe. In short, her work rocks.

    Not looking for attachments, Hadley's world is spun upside down by the gorgeous and mysterious Ander. These two are just amazingly developed characters. CM Radclif never shies away from the darkest, touchiest or most uncomfortable issues. And addiction is a huge player in this one.

    Both characters flounder and try and find their way in a cruel world. I loved the story. I love the twists. I anticipated the end and boy did waiting for the next shoe to drop keep me on edge. Her secondary characters are also well written and bring lots of twists to the plot.

    If you love dark, steamy, complicated characters and the hijinks they cause, this book is for you. Loving this story isn't always easy. Sometimes love is pain. But pain brings with it truth. And the author delivers truth in a most intense and emotion provoking fashion.
