Jackson is hot and a big player. I loved the sassy way he has to conquer women. This football player was full of himself. Samantha is a beautiful photographer and sister of one of the biggest football players. I loved how she was so committed to her work and friendship. I'm happy that "Cocky Bastard" world is having good books. I can't wait to read "Moving One" a second chance romance.

    This is my first book by this author and its one I have been dying to read. I love reading Jackson and Sam story and I never wanted it to end.

    Sam and her best friend are in Vegas for a break when Sam notices her soccer playing brother, Logan and his teammates are in the same hotel.

    Jackson's rep is as bad as her brother Logan's before he met her soon to be sister-in-law, Lee so why Logan is so upset about the thought of her with Jackson is beyond him.

    As KF is a new author to me after I finished this I found out that Logan and Lee and Fletcher and Jessica have their own stories which I am going to get and read but sadly won't be any new ones as KF is no longer with us.

    I'm a little biased when it comes to this author. I have been a fan for a long time and her books always leave me feeling emotional whether its happy or sad. And while I loved reading Scottish Player and revisiting some of my favorite characters from previous books, I was a little disappointed. I didn't really feel the chemistry or connection between Sam and Jackson. I know exactly what the problem for me was. This book is written with only Sam's perspective. So, while I got to know Sam, I didn't understand Jackson. Everyone gave Jackson a hard time because he was a known player with the ladies. He was constantly told he was no good by Sam's brother. Because Jackson's POV is non-existent, I didn't know what he was thinking. I just felt a lot was missing from the story.

    Overall, putting aside the fact that I couldn't experience what Jackson was thinking and feeling from his perspective, I still enjoyed the book. We all have our own preferences when reading whether it's first or third person perspectives. I enjoy both. But for me, the perfect reading experience is experiencing both protagonists POVs. I wanted to state this because this it just my opinion and my preferences and despite my disappointment, you may feel differently.

    Karen Francis was a lovely person and a talented writer. I am so sad to know she has recently passed away. I will miss her and her words. My thoughts and prayers are with her family and close friends. The reading community not only lost a talented storyteller, but a beautiful soul.

    I couldn’t put this book down. I enjoyed every single thing about this story. Well thought out characters and story line. I absolutely adored the interactions with Chance and Aubrey. But most importantly, the story of two people who fall in love even if it’s not a good idea. Jackson ended up being the perfect book boyfriend. And Sam was one helluva a heroine. Highly recommended.

    Deep breath.
    This was. This was,a bit of a take off failure for .
    Now, I wanted to like Sam. I really did. I don’t blame her though. I blame the writer.
    I mean it’s always the writer true. True. But do you ever or have you ever read a book and the character or characters almost felt separate from the writer and the book ? Like you could almost see this character as a real person out side of a story or plot that didn’t really seem to be created with then in mind ?
    Have wished you could yank them out and give them a better life or plot ?
    This is how I felt for Sam. Sam seemed fun and interesting and I liked how focused and sure she on what she wanted .
    Well at first,anyway.
    Now ,just so you know this is a DNF for me as I write this.
    I only made it to chapter 5 and 23% of the book.
    Why?
    Well, while I’m soo not a fan of a p.o.v from just one person ,if your gonna do that in my humble opinion you must,must,MUST be giving the other MC’s without a p.o.v plenty of page time so we can get to know them and their motivations and personality.
    Other wise how can we connect ? What to we have to connect to ?
    Well Sam and Kate have arrived in Vegas and had a couple of fun days by chapter five with only a few very short run ins with Jackson . Jackson who is usually being taken away by someone after saying or doing something dumb or asinine after only a few short moments around Sam and her friend Kate. Nothing of consequences said or done on any of the occasions. N o t h I n g . And yet after he pops up acting like a still possessive jealous ex and gets in a fight/altercation w/a guy she’s just met and hopefully a new client, she chases after him to tell him off and ends up in bed with him .
    Huh?
    Wait ,what ?
    Yeah,you heard me. I’m all for sex but, BUT only when it makes sense or means something.
    But to go from barely meeting a guy, turning him down for a date, then him getting into a fight with ppl you’ve just met and have become friends with,a guy you’ve barely spoken five words to.
    To jumping into bed with him, made less sense that a drunken late night pick up in a bar.
    For two days ( around the length of time she’s known him) you’ve barely spoken a word to him,happily ignored him. But now you suddenly gotta have him after he’s made a colossal full of himself ?
    Huh?
    No,just,no.
    I know I’ve barely started the book but you’ve killed it for me with this nonsense.
    It just doesn’t make sense.
    No Thanks.
    This just isn’t for me.

    This book was such a fantastic read. Being a Scottish lass myself I always love reading books with Scottish characters and predominantly set in Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 this story was sweet yet fast paced. I loved Jackson and Samantha, she was cautious - rightly so, but didn’t hold the few minor ‘bumps’ in the road against Jackson!!! And Jackson, well he was exactly the type of man you would expect him to be, self assured, bold, alpha and hot!!! Loved the chemistry between the couple and the realism of the storyline. No huge dramas or over the top gestures. I think for me that made the read so much more enjoyable.

    This is the first book I have read by this author, but I will definitely be going back to read her previous books.

    A footie themed romance, well a football player as the main man.

    Sam a Profesional photographer has been whisked away to Vegas for a getaway with her best friend and meets Jackson. There's a saying what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, but it seems neither are happy to leave it at that.

    It's a sweet and steamy read with added complications due to the family being protective. I haven't read any of the other cocky series books so didn't know the other characters stories but I still enjoyed this. I would have liked the ending to be more drawn out, but that's me.
