    Mafia Prince was not what I expected, and I had no plans of reading this book in the series. I am happy that I read this book before starting Mafia King. This book has a good story plot and development. I enjoyed reading about the characters and suspense as the story unfolded. It did not have as much violence as I would like in a mafia romance, but I did not miss it.

    I loved reading about an Irish mafia romance. I often find it's usually Italian or Russia so this novel was a nice change.

    I loved reading about Jack and Maeve. The story is about Maeve who goes to Jack for money to help her brother. He agrees to help her if she signs a contact that she'll have sex with him.

    I thought the chemistry between Jack and Maeve was electric. I enjoyed their banter back and forth. The scenes between them were quite steamy.

    I loved watching the unlikely friendship between Jack and Shay. I thought the two bickered and jabbed at each other and it was fun to read. It also sets up the next book really well.

    Overall this book held my attention and was really well done.

    This was an amazing book & my first Vi Carter novel. I loved the chemistry between Jack & Maeve. What we believed was an intense dislike between their younger characters, evolved into a lot more when they reunited as adults. Like in many novels, both the characters misinterpreted the others feelings & hid their emotions from one another. I hope to read more about Jack & Maeve’s relationship in some of the other books in this series. This book was a great start to this ‘Young Irish Rebels’ series!

    A dark mafia romance, this is the story of Jack O'Reagan and Maeve Reilly. It is intense. It has a slow start but the suspense builds and then I just can't stop reading. The story plot was good. I did not like Jack's character at the start. My heart goes to Maeve for what she went through. All in all I enjoyed the story.

Mafia Prince is Jack O’Reagan's story. He is the son of Liam & Svetlana (from Heartless) and heir to the East side of Ireland. He has been groomed since a child to take over the family business. Currently he is undergoing trials in prep to takeover as King from his dad. His legitimate business is a club called The Viper.

    Maeve Reilly is trying to hold her family together while supporting them and going to school. Her father left when she was young. Her mother is a non functioning alcoholic and Declan,her brother is a drug addict. No matter what she loves her family and needs to take care of them. When a man called the Butcher shows up to collect money from Declan, the Butcher tells her if she can't pay her brother's debt he would make her work in his brothel to pay it off.

    Fourteen years ago Maeve was best friends with Dana, Jack's younger sister. Jack picked on Maeve mercilessly, telling her she didn't belong and wasn't wanted around them. Now desperate for money she goes to her last resort, Jack O’Reagan's hoping he will give her a loan not a gift. Jack agrees easily. He has always liked Maeve and bullied her so she would never know has true feelings. His wicked plan is for her to live with him and gifting herself to him.

    This is where the story really gets interesting. Jack's uncles and cousins are all involved in the family business and making life difficult for Jack. He is trying to prove his worth to his father to gain the crown while walking a fine line that isn't clearly defined.

    The story is one of scheming, secrets and vengeance. The violence is such a part of their daily life that it is who they have become, the men they show the world. However Jack wants so much more from Maeve. Their relationship is so much back and forth, both worried about getting the heart ripped away. When they have a moment when they allow their true feelings to guide them, their relationship is so full heat, anger, jealousy and love.

    The story is fast paced and full of surprises and twists, especially the second half of the book. I felt like I didn't breathe until the last page; it was so tense. Maeve's and Jack's love affair is not wine and roses. There will never be a white picket fence in their future but they figure out how at works for them. There are definitely triggers that may upset some so heed the warnings if this is you. Mafia Prince is quite a story, one full of suspense, love and action and one you should read.

    I've read and enjoyed many Mafia Romances (my favourites are still Danielle Lori's Made Series ❤ and Cora Reilly's Born In Blood series ❤) but in some of them, we don't get a real glimpse of the evil deeds that these Mafia anti-heroes do. Not in this book by Vi Carter. And I really liked reading the different interactions between these men and their enemies, within their own family. The book is really dark and gritty at times. And I liked that it's the love story between Jack and Maeve that tones down all the dark aspects of the Mafia world.
    I also enjoyed the sex scenes: they seem real and all steamy at the same time. Like all their other scenes.
    The story was really captivating. This is the first book I read by this author and I will check out the other books.
