- Reviewed in Australia on 20 November 2021Verified PurchaseI have laughed so had, and enjoyed these books. Maddie and Tyler are too much, what a couple. I have not had so much fun with a series the love is real between them and the support for each other will hopefully last forever. Great writing
From our authors.
- Reviewed in Australia on 9 November 2018Verified PurchaseWhat a ride these books take you on!! This was the final book of the series and I loved this book. I loved the whole series, the characters, the story, everything. The audio narration was brilliant.
- Reviewed in Australia on 19 January 2020Verified PurchaseThe way these four book are written I couldnt tell who was writing what. This was a brilliant collaboration between Jonathan and Julie, they make a great writing couple and I look forward to reading more from this duo. This last book had a few surprises but it was more about Maddie and Tyler finding themselves. I liked the dialog that goes on in Tyler's head and finallt getting the answers from the people closes to him. I think I liked Maddie more in this book because she was saving Tyler instead of Tyler saving her. The conclusion was good but as a reader you always want more. There was a lot emotion in this series and I liked how deep this story went with dealing with loss.
- Reviewed in Australia on 8 May 2018I’m a little overwhelmed by the depth of this final book in this amazing series.
Many, many moments made me stop and reread a scene just so I didn’t miss a word, and emotion that I sincerely felt.
Maddie and Tyler, have made leaps and bounce in moving past their heartbreak and grief in this book. It made me happy that two tortured souls that thought would never find peace finally allow themselves a glimmer of hope for their future.
Don’t misunderstand, it’s no easy ride for either of them just yet, many more twist and turns lay ahead. And let’s not forget they are one steamy and sinful duo, and that remains true as you will see from the start of this book... LOL
Tyler is still as funny and smoking hot, the dude cracks me up, he had me laughing from start to finish.
And now the wait begins for the audiobook release, some of Tad Branson’s best work if I may say so as I have listened to pretty much everything he has narratored.
- Reviewed in Australia on 8 May 2018I go where you go
The finale to The Original Sin series. Tyler and Maddie's story comes full circle and it is not without incident. Of course when it come to Tyler nothing is a surprise but we finally get to see him see things for how they really are and Maddie has her Ha Hah moment.
I'm going to miss both Tyler and Maddie, they are certainly entertaining and I loved watching their story unfold.
Well done J. A. Huss and Johnathan McClain for giving us a fantastic series with so many colourful characters.

5.0 out of 5 stars Tyler, is footloose and fancy free and Maddie (is) simply in over her head...
Verified PurchaseI would most certainly recommend this series. Initially I was leery of Tyler and his "thought process" but soon I caught on and I think he is one of the most enjoyable characters I have ever read. His internal dialog was witty and not incessantly repetitive of [what if's] as more often than not they usually are, it wasn't filler, it really played a part in this story. Maddie, is a survivor and adapts her life to her surroundings as needed.
There were other characters that I really liked and would've liked to get to know better Guilt, it can be debilitating without you even being aware of it. It can affect a person's physical, mental, emotional and social health factors and it's a feeling that can last a lifetime.

5.0 out of 5 stars amazing ending to the series ♥️
Verified PurchaseThis series have been everything I needed, but didn’t know to ask for. The story captivated me from the first chapter, and the characters are unique as well as easy to recognise. Each of the main characters carry traits that feels like being reunited with old friends, whilst also being so different that it’s a joy to get to know them!

3.0 out of 5 stars I needed more
Verified PurchaseI am a tad disappointed in this last installment. The whole book felt more like a huge epilogue, and the action we got in the third book is now long gone.i needed more, unfortunately it didn't happen.
Tyler made me laugh, though, and I liked the family/tribe vibe of this opus.

5.0 out of 5 stars So Much More...10 Stars!
Verified PurchaseI was scrolling through Audible looking for a book that was included in the premium library to get lost in while I myself got lost in the mundane things of my everyday mom life. I usually err towards the side of “dark” or “taboo” in the romance genre, just because it’s hard to find anything with any actual suspense, depth, angst, or conflict that isn’t repetitive or contrite, in mainstream romance. So needless to say finding this series was like finding Buried Freaking Treasure!!
I don’t know that it would be classified as “Dark”, while there are certainly dark elements at play, but I just finished the “Original Sin” series by Johnathon McClain and JA Huss and I’m obsessed with it.
I sought out the first book in the series “Sin with Me” because Tad Branson is one of my favorite Narrators on Audible. He always brings so much emotion to his interpretations that I rarely ever come away without tears from a book that he narrates. When I reached the end of the Audible for Sin with Me, it was revealed that Tad Branson IS Johnathon McClain! What kind of Mindfuckery was this!?🤯 No wonder his performance was off the charts in bringing the Protagonist Tyler to life.
This series was emotionally charged. It was about existentialism, tragedy (a lot of it), suspense, a cacophony of emotional depth, self-healing and growth within two damaged people.....and of course, love. Also, the sex was off the charts!
Anyway, I adored this series and the absolute head cases the two main characters are. It’s so so much more than a romance, and is by all means not a light read. So if you are not prepared to be ripped open and put back together with a box of tissues handy, I dare say you should pass on this one.
However, if any of what I have described to you above tickles your fancy, then you will not be disappointed by this series. Also, do yourself a favor and listen to the Audible. It’s AMAZING!

4.0 out of 5 stars A romance with depth and complex characters you love.
Verified PurchaseOkay, so reviewing the final book in a series is always harder. You can’t go into too much since you’ll definitely touch on spoilers for the prior books – and I know a lot will wait for a series to be completed to read – so I’m just going to try and focus on my feels. And hopefully, make sense
I went into the series with certain ideas. I have read JA Huss’s books for YEARS. And I think I sort of had this idea in the back of my mind that even with a writing partner, her trademark suspense and twistiness would be the dominant voice. As I read, I felt myself waiting for that a-ha moment and it was completely wrong of me. I had to press pause and shake it off. I pressed play and remembered that this is something new.
Was the writing fantastic? Yes. The characters were complex and had depth. They were easy to like and relate to. And Tyler’s quirks became almost adorable. Maddie’s growth was a pleasure to watch. She tried, failed, tried, and failed a bunch more and yet she still dusted herself off and tried again. They worked for their ending. They fought for it and in the end, they deserved it.
At a particular point in this story, I was torn. I wasn’t feeling it exactly – but what surprised me, was that even though I was having my doubts about it, it hit me emotionally. It was a beautiful moment that hit me right in the feels and caught me completely off-guard. Which I think is a testament to the ability of these two. Impact. It’s all about the impact. They led me there – they got me to a place where their words would be able to affect me. Because they ensured I was invested in the characters and their lives.
I look forward to their next project and I really think that after reading this series that I will be able to go into the next book with more of an open mind. To be able to shake off what turns I expect the story to take, to stop looking for the surprises in the shadows and just enjoy the ride.
