Hmmmmmmm……..Im still looking for words for this….The audio was great, cannot fault it.Soooo what I didn't like….. Zero is soft. Like way to soft. No Pres is that soft in real life. He needed to be tougher, meaner and much much more possessive. I felt like her meet her, treated her like a queen, gave her everything and continued to allow her to be a snarky bitch, who got everything she wanted. I wanted much darker romance than what I got.All in all, if I had known it was a soft love story I would have ben a lot more happier than I was, but I felt like it was to soft for me. And the spicy chapters were lacking spice…

    Found myself a brand new new-to-me MC romance author! I loved reading Explosive. It was gripping from start to finish! There's a perfect balance of MC elements and romance within the story.
    A steady paced storytelling, and told from dual POVs. There’s a lot going on in Houston Defiance MC with drama, trouble and angst at every corner. It’s an action-packed storyline — one that sets up the introduction to this series in a strong way.
    Besides the brotherhood between the members, I enjoyed seeing the friendships that developed between the women in this world. It’s also a nice contrast to an otherwise male-driven environment. I love that they are cared for, protected and respected by the MC but that these ladies can hold their own!
    There’s a good amount of character development. You not only see the lead characters, but the secondary ones as well have backstory that gives you insight into who they are and how they’ve come to be now in the present. There’s a few secondary characters I’m already vying to see more of in this series.
    Whilst this is a work of fiction and a romance story at that, I haven’t forgotten that Zero and Rayne’s story centers around a realistic, relatable and very serious topic. There’s some lighthearted banter here and there to break the intensity, but what makes an MC romance a winner for me besides the hero/ heroine, is the substance of the story. Zero and Rayne grow and evolve, and there’s a purpose to their actions.
    I really can’t say enough great things about this book. It keeps you on your toes with suspense. I think fellow MC and dark romance readers will get a kick out of it. It’s one that’ll have you reeling about for days on end.
    But please keep in mind that this story focuses on sensitive subject matter that may trigger some readers. It contains detailed violence, domestic abuse and contains mentions of drugs.

    Overall, a spectacular MC romance that I would highly recommend! A great start to new series!

    Explosive is book 1 in the new Houston Defiance MC series. I read a lot of MC series and I loved that this was a full book and not just a 60-90mon read like a lot of others. The length of the book was great as we got an in depth look into the characters background and the storyline was able to be detailed and not rushed like some other MC series.

    From the moment you started reading this book you are pulled right in, It was a well written storyline about Zero who became the Pres after his mum and dad (old Pres) were killed in front of Zero and his 2 siblings.
    The club treats everyone associated with the club as members and being under their protection. Zero and Rayner are both broken in different ways from previous relationships and they're able to come together as they both overcome their past relationship traumas.

    This was an action packed dram read and I can't wait to read more in this series as they are released.

The story of rayne and zero is difficult due to rayne’s past and there future. New characters and brothers, old favourites come together to help bring there enemies to their knees. Family drama, tension, secrets, desires, alliances are made as well as enemy’s. Personal turmoil and inner strength plays a huge part in explosive which starts and ends beautifully! Zero discovers true love is possible while rayne discovers inner strength to finally lay her demons to rest.
    This book truly was ... explosive!!

    I will admit this is the 3rd MC biker story I've read where the Pres falls for the damsel in distress and she was marries to a corrupt cop. Cliche is putting it midly..but all 3 had different storylines, so you practically could write the book yourself knowing whats going to happen. However all 3 had there own personalities and each one i enjoyed reading as i did with this one. Great start to the series and looking forward to reading the rest. 😉

    The world building in the start of this series is strong. The characters are unique, strong and feisty. I love having the story told from both POV, because it just brings everything to life. The chemistry between Zero and Rayne is so good, just wished that someone could do to “Up Chuck” what he did to her times 10 …

    In this story, Zero becomes the new President of the Defiance MC in Houston, Texas after his dad is killed by a rival MC during their latest war. Afterwards, his two siblings ran away to Chicago. When Zero gets things settled, the club takes a road trip to bring them home.

    In the interim, Zero’s sister Prinie befriended Rayne, an abused woman she met when Rayne called for an Uber. Over the course of time they have grown close, so when Prinie agrees to come home she doesn’t want to leave without saying goodbye. When they arrive Rayne’s spouse has just left and she is in bad shape. Zero’s protective instincts kick in right away. He wants to bundle her up and take care of her, but he is the President of an outlaw MC and she is married … to a cop.

    Oh, boy … buckle up buttercup, the ride could get really bumpy

    This author is new to me but after reading this, I am eager to check out more! This was a fantastic MC romance. It was great balance of grit and guys who will do anything for the MC family. The character development is really great and the storyline kept you flipping. Rayne and Zero have fabulous chemistry. Both have some major baggage and take time to figure themselves out but they are perfect for one another. Great MC read.
