Two months have passed since the day I pushed Hayden away. Two months since I found out he loved me and wanted to be with me. I’ve been trying to move on and forget about him, but my heart refuses to listen.

Hayden had almost died saving me. Half of me wants to forgive him for everything and give him another chance.     Vera Hollins is no joke killing me with this series!!! My heart just cannot take anymore!!!
    Pained is the second book in the Bullied series and I fell in love with it just as much as the first. Although this book wasn't as heavy on the bullying as what we experienced in Bullying, it still contained so many heart breaking moments.
    This series is SO different to all of the other bully books out there. Vera does not shy away from the dark bullying elements and continues to shock you with how cruel, harsh, twisted and depraved others can be.
    Hayden...(sigh). There is so much to say about this boy. All we know of him is the dark and twisted side but I LOVE that we start to get to see other sides to him as well. Although, he is horrible at times and treats Sarah like absolute crap at others, but you cannot help but feel for him. Hayden does not choose to be the way that he is and that is what makes this story different from others.
    Sarah. She is by far one of the strongest FMC I have ever read. She deals with so much from so many different people and is surrounded by so much hate and so many horrid people. Even her own waste of space mother (that woman infuriates me!!).
    Sarah and Hayden together - omg. I just can't. Their banter! It made my heart so happy!!! But if you are expecting a sappy love story, then this is not the book for you. The cute and loving moments are far between because this love story is absolute toxic chaos. This is not your typical good girl and bad boy story. The emotional and mental struggles they both have are overwhelming and absolutely soul crushing. There is so much push and pull between them it is almost frustrating!!
    WHAT IS WITH THAT ENDING?!?!?! If my heart was struggling while reading the rest of the book then it is absolutely shattered and bleeding now!! (Ugly cries!). Cliffhanger ending which leaves you with the worst emotional hangover I have possibly ever experienced.
    Vera Hollins - Bullied series is an absolute masterpiece!!!
    This is one series everyone should read! Absolutely amazing!!! I cannot recommend enough.

    Pained is the perfect title for this book. So much emotional pain and torment for these characters. Simply amazing to read and see what their lives keep throwing at them while Sarah and Hayden try to work past some of their awful painful history.

    Continuing from BULLIED. This is book two, must read BULLIED first.
    I've previously read this when it was on Wattpad a few years ago. I loved it then, and love it now. It was great reacquainting myself with these characters.
    This is an angsty, antihero, triggers, sensitive content, emotional rollercoaster of a read.

    After the events from BULLIED. Sarah made the heartwrenching decision to push Hayden away after him declaring that he loves her and saving her life. In which she saved his at the same time.
    Choosing to be with Mateo, the safe, caring choice.
    But still can't help having feelings for Hayden. She knows that it's wrong to be thinking of him when she's with Mateo.
    She's still struggling with trust issues, low self-esteem and self respect. But she's got Mel, Jess and Mateo to help her. She's still trying to accept that she has good friends and a boyfriend, her first boyfriend.

    Hayden has completely distanced himself from Sarah, doesn't acknowledged her, even stopped bullying her.
    But Sarah's ex-best friend Christine, catty cheerleader, has had an on- off thing with Hayden, has taken over with help from her 'groupies'. Since Hayden, Mason and Blake have eased off of Sarah. But not stopping Blake & Mason from bullying Mel and Jess.

    Understanding now that Hayden has BPD, Boarderline Personality Disorder. Explaining his mood swings, outbursts, and not being able to control his feelings. Sarah is now thinking that she made a huge mistake pushing Hayden away. She really wants to be there and to help him. But he's pushing her away.

    Until Sarah sees an unwanted person, who she thought was still in prison, turns up in town. Which happens to be her mother's abusive ex-boyfriend.
    She tells her mother that he's back, but doesn't believe her. They don't have a mother/daughter relationship. It's quite volatile. Sarah just wants a loving mother, but turns out her mother is a horrible person, she just wants to turn eighteen so she can leave her mother and finish school.

    When events get heated, it's Hayden to her rescue.

    They seem to save each other. It's obvious they love each other.
    But with Hayden's mother telling Sarah she's not strong enough for Hayden, she's made a mistake and has realised that Sarah's exactly what Hayden needs.
    Can Hayden let Sarah in, and trust her?
    Can Sarah be strong enough for Hayden?
    Can they both stop pushing each other away?

    DAMAGED is next and is the 3rd book in Sarah and Hayden's journey.

    I just love stories that completely grab your attention and refuse to let you go. I was so immersed in Bullied, the first book in the series, that I immediately purchased Pained. We were left with a pretty big cliffhanger, and I felt compelled to find out what happened next. And let me tell you, Pained is emotional and impossible to put down!

    I feel connected to Sarah in many ways, and I just hoped that things would get better for her. I wished that she would get stronger and stand up for herself more. I was pleased that she started, but she still has a long way to go.

    I also felt heartbroken for Sarah, and I kept hoping that things would be getting better for her. But, sadly that didn’t happen. I just wanted to hug her and tell her to believe in herself. I was happy that Hayden seemed to make a positive turn, although having Borderline Personality Disorder was difficult for them both.

    I’m so in love with these characters that I need to read the next book, and I just hope that Sarah and Hayden get the break they deserve!
