But I have to stay away.
We are not meant to be, because we already had our chance,

never be the same.
Everything is too complicated right now.

Aubrie Lee is the sexy minded alter ego of a very normal, a tad boring, always smiling mid-twenties woman.
At first glance, you would never believe that she is capable of not only fantasizing but writing all the hot, steamy stories that lurk inside her mind.
But as we all know looks can be deceiving, and you are given first row seats to all her stories, there will be lots of giggles and HEA's, that's guaranteed.

I’m going to be real honest here. I was expecting this book to be different. This is a new to me author so I didn’t know what to expect writing wise. I was having a hard time connecting to the main characters.

This book just wasn’t drawing me in. I didn’t like how Luke and Sophie first met. There was absolutely no build up for me. Luke was going to his friends party ready for some action. He was horny and was looking for someone. Once Luke walks in Sophie just grabs him. They grind a bit. Then they go somewhere to have sex. We don’t read about it. We just assumed they did it. Because it jumps to 5 years later.

Luke just happens to walk back into Sophie life. She owns a bakery now. And Luke has noooo clue who she even is. Because she literally was a one nightstand from back in the day! But of course Sophie knows exactly who he is. And Luke is buying a little cake for his girlfriend of 3 years.

So I’m still at this point trying to have an open mind about this book. But then Sophie goes to a bar/club by herself. Just to people watch and unwind. I don’t think she has friends. I mean... a young women going to a club/bar by herself. I didn’t like that. And Luke happens to be there.
Still wasn’t feeling them and I definitely wasn’t feeling any chemistry between them.

I didn’t find Luke that appealing either. The way the author describes him. Oh man... just wasn’t for me. The way he was dressed made me cringe!

“I took a shower and picked the most casual clothes I have in my wardrobe: a pale blue Chinese collar polo, khaki pants, and white loafers.”

White loafers! Yeah... no.... that whole outfit was a hot mess!! That’s not appealing to me. And Sophie’s was pretty much a loner in this book. I didn’t like that.

Then when the secret was revealed. About the child. I really didn’t t like Sophie. Why not tell Luke when you first saw him. Or one of the many times he stopped by your bakery or one of your impromptu dates? I mean... I just didn’t get why she wouldn’t say anything or why she wouldn’t even have her son living with her! Ughhh. The son is supposed to be four years old. He talked like he was older. Way older.

This book seemed like an older person wrote this book. Some of the word choices seemed a little dated. Also too... I thought this book would be light. But turned kinda serious with the son’s illness.
I think it safe to say this book wasn’t for me. I was expecting something light and sexy and got something different.

Mine, Baby by Aubrie Lee is the story of Sophie and Luke.
Sophie and Luke met about 5 years ago when they were young at a party where they hooked up, but parted. Now in their present day Sophie is a new bakery owner trying to get her business going when Luke walks in to by a cake for him and his girlfriend for their anniversary. Sophie is shocked to see Luke and hurt that he didn't remember him. Luke's girlfriend ends up dumping him which makes him of course feel bad but somehow he keeps gravitating toward Sophie.
This was a quick second chance romance.

I loved this book and couldn't put it down.
I didn't want Sophie and Luke's story to end.

Their chemistry is amazing and their story is one I will not forget.

If you’re looking for a second chance book that has a little surprise, a little resistance, and a lot of heat - this is the book for you! I was pleasantly surprised by this novel, which didn’t take long to read but was packed with passion. I though the book moved along at the right pace and did a good job of weaving Sophie and Luke’s brief past with their present-day lives. Luke is charming, hot, and doesn’t let anything get in his way (especially when it comes to those he loves)...while Sophie is quietly driven and feisty. While they clash at first, their chemistry is off the charts, and their surprising connection seals the deal on this sweet story. Great read!

Second chance romance and secret babies are my favorite tropes but this book just didn't work for me. The book was in dual POV but it was clear that both parts were from a women speaking which made the H seem to feminine. The story also jumped quite a bit with no smooth transition into the next chapter. I struggled to feel the chemistry between the two MC. They meet and have a one night stand yet she spend 5 years pining for him because she was sooo in love with him. I didn't buy it ( you don't even know him) Then the story jumps 5 years they reconnect and instantly are in love. It was just to quick with no real build up. I don't see myself reading more from this author

I found this second chance romance to be very enjoyable. Sweetness and spice are blended with humor and heart to create a story that quickly pulls you into it. I liked Sophie and Luke very much. I thought that their chemistry really sizzled. Most importantly I thought that the storyline was interesting and I liked how fate played a big part in the evolution of their relationship. This is my frank, freely posted review.

A very enjoyable read with lots of heat, humor, and heart. Just fell in love with Luke and Sophie and gobbled it up in one sitting. May have had a goofy smile and a couple tears in my eyes by the end *grin* Would not have thought this was a first time author and looking forward to Andrew and Val’s story.

A new author that delivers!

I loved where the author took its reader in this debut read that doesn’t disappoint. I enjoy how Luke and Sophie’s character evolved from first meeting to unexpected second chance. The storyline flowed well, the twists were surprising and the heat level sizzles. Nothing makes me happier than discovering a new author that delivers and this newest release does that.

Mine, Baby by Aubrie Lee. My fourth book by this author but it was a little dissapointing. One of the reasons is maybe because this is the authors debut and I only have read later work so far.

I liked the story but the characters lacked some chemistry in my opinion.

So this book was not totally for me.

This was a sweet second chance romance. It seemed like a shorter read, but that took nothing away from the story, it was just wrapped up in an amazing package!

Sophie knew Luke back in college, freaking everyone knew Luke in college. They shared one wild passionate night where they both were completely consumed. Then that was it. Until years later when happenstance has Luke inside of her bakery looking for a gift.... an anniversary cake.

You have to read how all of this unfolds. It was beautiful, sweet, and so freaking steamy! If you enjoy second chance romances and are looking for something new, I highly recommend you check this out!

PS: I received this book as an ARC but am voluntarily reviewing it!

This was a new author to me. Loved this writers writting style. The words were so easy flowing, once I started I could not put the book down. Shopie and Luke had one night of fun. Four years later he shows up to her business for a cake. Not realizing Shopie owns the bakery. When an unexpected emergency happens it will bring these two closer together. Cannot wait for the next book Out of Hate.

Oooooh I flooooooved this! Mine, Baby is a rather cinderella-esque story while being something completely different. A whole lot of swoon and one big secret combine into a super sweet read that will have your heart racing and other things melting. Aubrie Lee has me throughly addicted to her writing now!
I don’t want to give anything away, so this will be short and sweet but I absolutely have to say how much I LOVED the chemistry between Luke and Sophie. They have to perfect combo of heat and sweet going on and it pretty much pours right off the pages with these two. I can’t wait for more from Aubrie Lee!

First time in encountering this author so I was curious. It would seem this is also a second chance one that will get deep into emotions. Sophia and Luke share their story with us. There is also a little something extra that comes from them that gives it heart too. This author also knows how to sprinkle humor in between these two also. This author knows how to fill you up with one that will completely satisfy.

Loved it.

Not bad but not good either. It was too short. The back story should have gotten more chapter and not just a prologue. I prefer to be in the middle of the story and not just being told about it.

There are other things in the story that were not resolved properly too. I can’t discuss further without giving away the plot.

This author has potential. The next story seems a good one.

I enjoyed Luke and Sophie’s story. It’s sweet and fun with a little bit of steaminess. The two made me laugh with their quarrels. Luke’s adoration for Sophie had me swooning. I absolutely adored little Carson. He melted my heart.
Their story warms the heart and leaves you smiling.
I look forward to reading the next book. (4.5⭐️)

Mine, Baby is a second chance, surprise baby story. It’s sweet and heartwarming. It has a bit of heartache because of decisions that were made for others. Sophie and Luke are instantly attracted to each other and that spark has never gone away. The writing is good, and the story line is real. Great story told in dual points of view that can be read in one sitting.

Ok, so I have tried to write this review so many times and each times seems harder and harder. So I’m just going to do word vomit. This was a cute read. It was mildly steamy compared to some books I read and I liked the bather. It was also very fast paced. Being that this author was new to me, I found that I wasn’t too keen on some of the internal dialogue. I’m not saying it wasn’t good..... it just didn’t hook me. I wanted Luke to be more of an alpha. I thought he would be, but after a few chapters, he wasn’t and while I’m ok with that, it just wasn’t what I was expecting.

Slight SPOILER so be warned

So in the blurb, at the end, it talks about how Sophie is carrying with his child..... when I read that, it made me think that this is a surprise pregnancy/accidental baby read, and that it was going to happen fairly early and I was disappointed to see that we go through the whole book before that even happened. I mean, ugh. It was the main draw to me for this book and then I was let down. This has nothing to do with the authors writing, the story, or anything like that.... just my personal wants when I read the blurb and what I believed was going to happen and it didn’t happen.

Also, There were times that the characters made it seem like that had been in talks for a lot longer then the story seemed. I couldn’t really pinpoint many time jumps between chapters but I found my self rolling my eyes when it seemed longer. This is my quark but I wish that things were more noticeable. Maybe even some chapter headers with the time jumps. They had been together on like 2 occasions and bam it was friends for a few months..... that just doesn’t work for me as a reader.

There were some twists to the story that I pretty much guessed from the start and once we learned about those I was very engrossed in the story and finished it quickly. I’m not going to say that I agreed with everything in this book, but the author made the characters cases strong. Some things just didn’t add up for me when I was reading. Even with that, I would be willing to try another book by this author in the future. 3 stars #2OCCJD
