If I had to pick a bride of convenience, my first choice would NOT be Peach Maloney.

My fiftieth choice would NOT be Peach.

Top spot on my list of occupational hazards? Yes.

Royal pain in the crumpets? Yes.

A bride of convenience? No.

But I’ve unexpectedly gone from royal bodyguard to monarch, having inherited a crown that was stolen from my family long before my birth. The kicker of this unexpected royal gift? In order to take the throne I must find a wife.

Have I mentioned Peach would NOT have been my hundredth choice?

But I’ve no other options, and she needs a favor that my new position can fulfill quite nicely. So we’ve agreed to play the doting newlyweds out in public.

In private, though, our rules are simple:

No touching.

No talking.

And certainly no sex.

I should have known better than to marry a rule-breaker.

Today, she has more than 30 knee-slapping Pippa Grant titles and nine published under the name Jamie Farrell.

When she’s not writing romantic comedies, she’s fumbling through being a mom, wife, and mountain woman, and sometimes tries to find hobbies. Her crowning achievement? Having impeccable timing for telling stories that will make people snort beverages out of their noses. Consider yourself warned.

Hot Heir is a sweet, sexy hilarious stand alone by Pippa Grant. The characters are recurring from her other books but whether or not you have read any of them will not take away from your enjoyment of this book!

Viktor has been the lead bodyguard to His Highness, Prince Manning Frey, third son of the King of Stolland, for twelve years. It’s during the last year that he has gotten to know Miss Peach Maloney, best friend to Gracie, Manning’s wife. Very unexpectedly, Viktor is informed that he is being named King of Amoria, a country that was stolen from his family when his Grandfather was King. Overnight Viktor has gone from bodyguard to His Majesty. One problem, though. Amoria is known as the kingdom of love. And for anyone to become King, they have to be married and in love.

Peach Maloney lives in Alabama near her two best friends, Gracie, and Joey, whom she co-owns a business with. Peach has become guardian to her younger fourteen year old sister, Papaya, who hates the world and instigates trouble at every turn. While trying to save Papaya from yet another terrible mistake, Peach and Viktor find themselves victims of a crazy, runaway hot air balloon. Instead of signing the adoption papers over to Peach like the judge was supposed to, he has instructed Peach that in order for him to sign the paperwork, she must get married.

So, Peach needs a husband and Viktor needs a wife. It’s a match made in heaven, right? Or not! Peach and Viktor have never gotten along. Rather they both take great pleasure in antagonizing each other. Peach and Papaya will have to move to Amoria with Viktor in order for him to take his throne. Peach is convinced the move will be good for Papaya. A change of scenery. But first, Peach and Viktor need to be able to convince themselves that they are going to be able to show the world a couple that is in love, even if it is merely a marriage of necessity. So what better way than to practice a kiss.

“I taste summer and sin, temptation and torture, and I want more. Much more.”

alpaca

The new family moves to Amoria to a crumbling castle where the previous King decorated it much like a brothel. Even with the additional guards and family members to watch over Papaya, she still finds a way to wreak havoc on the castle. Their adventures might or might not include alpacas, polecats, suits of armor, and so much more. But, as Viktor and Peach work together to both help Papaya, and to learn about the country they are to rule, something begins to happen. They actually begin to like each other.

runaway hot air balloon

“Gods above, you’re so much more,” he murmurs into my neck. He doesn’t say more what. But he doesn’t have to. Because he’s more too. More than I expected. More than I gave him credit for. More than I might be able to walk away from.”

“She holds my fate in her hands. And not the fate of my country, of my kingdom, or of my palace. Mine. Me alone. My heart. My soul. My whole being.”

I ended up really loving this. I admit it took me just a bit to get into it. Viktor is very proper and buttoned up. Peach has been hurt and is very reluctant to care for a man. I think it was about half way through when I really started feeling the connection between them, that I started swooning just a bit over Viktor. I think it might have been partly my own fault because I was a bit distracted during the beginning part. Or, just that it took me that long to really warm up to these two. But the wait was worth it. I ended up loving them and couldn’t put the book down from then until the end.

hearts gif

Pippa’s books are always so much fun, with crazy hilarity but always a level of sweetness, sigh worthy moments, and plenty of sexy times. Both of these characters were willing to give up everything for others, Peach for her little sister, and Viktor, for the country that was stolen from his family. Who could have known that in the midst of it all, they would find something else, something they didn’t even know they needed, but fast learned they don’t want to live without, love.

“I came here with a mission to put the love back in Amoria. But it seems Amoria is putting the love back in me.”

I remember when I first read Miss Grant book, Hosed. It cracked me up. I picked up Hot Heir expecting the same hilarious funny romance book.
And I am very much disappointed. I really am. I am not sure what is wrong with this book. The story is dragging. The character does not develop very good. The chemistry is off. Not off the chart burning hot, but off cold and stiff.

I think what most does not work for me is the story pace. It is way too long. it feels dragging. I even fall asleep somewhere in the beginning of the book. The conversation is also not funny but dragging and boring. All of the jokes and sassy that I am expecting never comes. I am very disappointed with this book. I really am.

This is third in the current series, but it comes after a bunch of other serieses so other couples abound. I recommend reading them in order because it's great to know the other couples.

Okay, I'm not sure what's up with this one, but I just couldn't. And I'm wondering if I just fell out of the mood for Pippa Grant stories because I know some of what bothered me in this one was present in others. Maybe? Like, Viktor is forever on about how his junk is responding to Peach. It's like he can't have an honest response, so he leaves it to his overworked twig and berries (euphemisms he actually used if you can believe it) to indicate his interest. Which was kind of yucky. But other heroes of Grants have had the same internal obsession with their parts, too, and it didn't bug me for them.

And Peach is just a mountain of contrivance. Like, small town judge telling her to get married or lose custody of her sister can be a serious thing. And Papaya (the sister, because obv) is all about the rebellion and being a wild child. And Peach won't tell her "hey, your hijinks are jeopardizing the whole custody thing because of plot" because Papaya should feel loved and stable and you obviously show love and provide stability by holding all the world at bay on your lonesome so that the one you love can make crazy stupid choices without understanding there might be serious consequences neither of you can control. Except for Papaya who could control a whole lot if only she had any sense of how the world worked and wasn't running around like she can't decide if she wants to be a cautionary tale when she grows up or not.

Anyway, I got tired of dumb things happening to Peach, some her own fault, but mostly just to pile on to make her desperate enough for a quickie marriage to Viktor. Because a country with a bylaw requiring their king to be married to a woman he loves isn't contrivance enough for one story. Like, seriously, someone actually said "if the people don't buy that you're in love blah blah blah" (I might have stopped paying attention when it became clear we were being asked to buy a monarchy that could be overthrown with an opinion poll).

So yeah. I'm out. And I wish I hadn't bothered because I usually like Grant's stories and this one left a strong enough mark I'm going to be cautious of the next...

"Hot Heir" by Pippa Grant is a delightful royal romance that truly deserves its five-star rating. This audiobook is a charming blend of humor, heartwarming moments, and steamy passion that captures your heart from start to finish.

The story introduces us to Viktor, the epitome of proper and buttoned-up, and Peach, an independent soul who is reluctantly thrust into a marriage of convenience. The initial dynamic between them crackles with tension, setting the stage for a memorable enemies-to-lovers journey.

As the story unfolds, the transformation of Viktor from the uptight royal to a swoon-worthy hero is irresistible.

Pippa Grant has a knack for crafting stories that are both uproariously funny and deeply touching, and "Hot Heir" is no exception. The book strikes a perfect balance between humor, heart-melting moments, and steamy scenes that make your heart race.

What makes this story truly special is the selflessness of the main characters. Peach's unwavering dedication to her little sister and Viktor's commitment to reclaiming his stolen heritage add depth and sincerity to their characters, making their love story all the more compelling.

Amid the chaos, Peach's mischievous sister, Papaya, adds a delightful layer of unpredictability to the story. The heart-shaped everything in Amoria is a charming touch, and Fred the alpaca brings a whimsical element to the narrative.

"Hot Heir" seamlessly combines humor, heart, and passion. It's a captivating tale of two unlikely lovers brought together by royal duty and a touch of destiny. With its moments of selflessness, love, and laughter, this audiobook will keep you engaged until the very last word. If you're in search of a feel-good romance that excels in every way, "Hot Heir" by Pippa Grant is the perfect choice. Don't miss this brilliant addition to Pippa Grant's collection of swoon-worthy rom-coms!

Viktor comes from a royal family that was ousted in the days of his grandfather. Living in a neighboring country, Viktor chose a life of service as one of the royal prince’s body guards. But when the current ruler of his home country dies, they look to Viktor, the eldest son, to step in as ruler. The only catch, he must be married.

Peach Maloney is struggling with life. She’s trying to adopt her much younger sister to keep her from repeating the same mistakes she and their mom made. However, after a huge hot-air balloon mishap, the misogynistic judge tells Peach she must be married before he’ll let her adopt Papaya.

Yep… this is a fake relationship story, one of my favorite tropes. And after devouring a few of Ms. Grants titles (all loosely related and in the same world), I couldn’t wait to try Hot Heir. Overall, I enjoyed the story, but it is not near the top of favorites for me.

While Hot Heir has Ms. Grant’s hallmark humor, the story doesn’t have the same lightness found in the stories I’ve listened before this one. It’s missing the fun humor, although Fred the Alpaca and a few other scenes did make me giggle. Both main characters are in serious situations and they really don’t like each other, so they go it alone even once they are married. Peach has her hands full with her sister and the pressure of trying to do it all. Viktor is king of a divided and crumbling, backwards nation. It isn’t until about two-thirds into the story that the pair finally start to connect and work together. This is about the time I started getting into it more. Additionally, I struggled with Viktor. The combination of the narration and the way his dialogue is penned, he sounds like a stuffy older man rather than a hot young heir.

Narration: The narration was a weaker point for me. The story is shared via first person POV, alternating between Peach and Viktor. Both narrators alter dialogue based on speaking character’s gender, age, country of origin. Mr. Dexter uses an accent... sort of British, but I’m not an expert, to fit Viktor’s European upbringing. However, it made me think he was an older man (I kept seeing Héctor Elizondo as Joe from The Princess Diaries). While I struggled with his performance of Viktor, I did appreciate his voices for the American women including Peach’s slightly southern accent and Papaya’s 14 year old teen. Ms. Wilder uses a soft and slightly breathy voice, which I liked. Her slight southern accent for worked well for Peach. She did use a deeper accented voice for Viktor, which I liked slightly more than Mr. Dexter’s version.

In the end, Hot Heir is a good addition to the overall world, but not as much fun as the ones in the Girl Band series. I liked the underlying message that being strong is not in opposition to loving and trusting someone. I liked seeing Viktor and Peach find a connection, but I just didn’t connect with them as much as I hoped.

My Ratings:
Story: B/B-
Narration: EW: B; SD: C+

Don’t get me wrong, I liked it, but I felt it was a bit shallow. Multiple interesting themes are touched upon, but never completely developped–dealing with a troubled teenager, tackling a patriarcal society, fighting homophobia and misogyny–and it was frustrating.

But you’ll find the regular author’s elements. The humor, especially in the situations, was there. The characters’ mullings with a characteristic voice were aplenty. And of course, there was a lot of steam, and of the epic variety.

As I haven’t read any of the previous books in the series, I though the setting was original, with this undercover royal who inherited a kingdom and tried to fix it. As such, the marriage of convenience was the obvious trope to use, and the characters, with their opposite lives and natures, and the sexual tension between them, made it good. The addition of family members and friends was usual for this author, and dealt with with talent.

Maybe the characters were a bit too peculiar–oh my, Papaya probably needs therapy–I had trouble connecting to them. Not the main characters, mind me. Peach and Viktor were an adorable couple, and their banter was hilarious. I enjoyed them quite a lot.

Quickie

- Series: The royals #3 (can be read as a standalone)
- Hashtags: #royal romance #marriage of convenience #enemies to lovers #opposites attract
- Triggers: slut shaming
- Main couple: Peach Maloney & Viktor
- Hotness: 5/5
- Romance: 4/5
- + I loved the handling of a teenage girl
- – as often with enemies to lovers stories, I see more lust than love

We're getting enough characters in these interconnected stand alones that we may need a flow chart, but I’ll try to keep it simple. This book is Peach and Viktor's story and includes Peach's sister, Papaya, and their Meemaw. Peach is best friends and business partners with Joey (Joey and Zeus from The Pilot and the Puck-Up) and Viktor is head bodyguard for royal hockey player Manning (Gracie and Manning from Royally Pucked). To obtain legal custody of her sister, the Alabama judge orders Peach to get married, and yes, I’ve seen judges here in the south make some pretty crazy rulings, so that’s not too far fetched. Viktor has the opportunity to be king of the country from which his grandfather was dethroned, but Amoria law requires their king have a wife. Peach and Viktor may get on each other's last nerve, but they can be a solution for each other and keep things strictly business. You can likely already see how well that will work out.

This author is an auto preorder and auto “get my hands on an advance copy" so the scales may be tipped in favor of me viewing her work in a positive light, but it’s because she’s truly a fantastic writer. If a queen of romantic comedy were being crowned, I'd be hard pressed to not plop the tiara firmly on Grant's witty, humorous head. Every new book is better than the last, and I’m in awe of her ability to continue to create such delightfully entertaining stories. No one does antics, shenanigans and comedic errors quite like this author, from legwarmers for llamas and charming crumbling castles to purloined hot air balloons and everything coming up, well, hearts, there’s never a dull moment.

Of course, these characters are just as endearing as the others have been and quickly find their way into the reader's heart. (Seriously, there are a lot of hearts!) I loved Viktor's upper crust narration, and how he seemed all serious, stoic and kingly, but his compassion, huge heart, a sense of humor he kept closely guarded and his hint of vulnerability are what really made the character for me. And between Peach and her younger sister Papaya, never mind his kingly duties, Viktor really has his hands full. Papaya is a good-hearted, out of control teenager, and Peach has her own set of challenges. Moving from Alabama to the country of Amoria doesn’t really change any of that. “You can take the girl out of the trailer park, but you can’t take the trailer park out of the girl" seems to be a motto ingrained in Peach and she's always had to work harder to make a success of things. It also doesn't help that she had a lesson in trusting men when she was fifteen, and she's believed that all men are untrustworthy ever since. She's her own worst enemy because it keeps her from seeing the good in her or the good things she has accomplished.

It’s always an adventure to read a Grant book, and this is no exception. I never know where the journey will take me, but I know it will be great fun. These characters are complex and immensely endearing. The storyline is engaging and entertaining, and I was right there with Peach and Viktor, page by page, pulling for their happily ever after. With an abundance of non-food-or-beverage-consuming, laugh-out-loud moments, the perfect amount of kingly and sassy southern hotness, and a ton of happy-sigh inducing heart, this book is royally worthy of a 1-click!

She's going to date whether I like it or not. "Oh, god, I need to have the safe sex talk with her."
"Honey, just do what I did."
"You told me a banana could get me pregnant, and that a sausage could make my cooter fall off."
"Psh. You understood what I meant. And I also told you a good eggplant was worth its weight in gold, so long as it was covered up and its farmer knew how to use it. Be glad I worked in food service. You know Jenny Gaughran's mom worked at the firecracker factory. Imagine the talk she got."
"I love you, but you are not right."

Pippa Grant does it again. I loved Peach and Viktor, and the supporting characters and ridiculous situations are the icing on the cake. I'm not even going to bother telling y'all how much I love it, I'm going to go straight to too many scenes that made me laugh and that I loved. Spoilers probably…

"The staff shall be pleased. 'Tis my understanding that no one has been able to sleep in that bed since King Roland died in it."
I leap up, get tangled in the warn satin sheets, and trip from my knees onto my shoulder on the bed, barely stopping myself from falling headfirst off the heart.
I finally get my balance, and I look up barely in time to see Viktor smiling.
A full, twinkly-eyed, uninhibited smile.
And Holy. Hammer. Of. Thor.
The man has dimples.
Adorable, deep twin dimples over that marble jawline. Dimples that make him more boyish than brutish, momentarily leaving me completely unable to utter a word.
If I'd known he had dimples, I never would've agreed to marry him.
Dimples are dangerous. I can pass on the six-packs and the tattoos, but the dimples - fuck me, I think I just ovulated.
"My apologies, my lady. 'Tis unfair of me to take advantage of your weakened mental state."
Well. That helped. And there go my eggs, scurrying back to my ovaries. "Weakened mental state?"
"You were carrying on about caterpillars eating your bonbons when I entered the room."
"I was not-"
"And you haven't eaten a bite since we left America four days ago-"
"Four days?" Oh, fuck. I could've sworn I was only asleep a few hours.
Viktor coughs. "Ah, I've done it again. Can't help myself, it seems. It's so rare I can win with you, I fear I've taken advantage once more."

~

I smile, because there's nothing quite as lovely as Peach when her eyes have gone the shade of midnight, her cheeks have flushed, and she's preparing to rip into a man's jugular.
She would have made quite the proficient bodyguard herself.
Though her gaze is lingering on my lips, rather than on my neck.
"Quit dimpling at me," she warns with a halfhearted poke to my chest.
"Dimpling, my lady?"
She points to her cheeks. "Dimpling."
"Ah." I smile broader. "My smile displeases you."
"It's hideous," she agrees, but there's no masking the mischief filtering into her own tilted lips and narrowing eyes.
She's quite near glowing.
With pleasure.
At the sight of me.
My bollocks throb insistently, but I ignore them - quite the feat, I deserve a medal - and allow my smile free reign. "Yes, I can see where smiles would be off-putting. Such nasty inventions."
Her lips twitch higher. "Only on you."
"I beg you pardon. My smile is no worse than your hairdo."
She gasps in mock outrage and crowds me into the corner of the shower, away from the warm mist coming off the head. "You're fixin' to get your head dunked in that bucket, Your Majesty."
"Ah, but then who would wash your hair, my lady?"
"I'll just have to get me a lady's maid."
The idea of Peach letting anyone act as her lady's maid is so utterly absurd I actually laugh.
She sucks in a breath, and I stop instantly.
"I was not laughing-"
Before I can finish, she's grabbed me by the ears and pulled my lips to hers.
"You're not supposed to be so fucking hot," she gasps before her tongue plunges into my mouth.

~

Viktor takes my hand and helps me over a massive log blocking the road, which is why we're walking instead of driving, and I let him, because I might secretly like touching him.
Plus, his hands are warm, and my fingers are like ice.
"You're anticipating spinning this story to make me appear gentlemanly, aren't you?" he asks.
"Hush. We haven't been married long enough for you have to figured out all my faults."
"I was highly aware of your nature before our wedding."
"And you still married me, so what does that say about you?"
"That I am madly, desperately in love with you despite yourself."
Yes, there are guards with us. But the statement still sends warm heart bubbles through my chest.
Shut up. Maybe I'm starting to like hearts. Is that a crime?
I didn't think so.
Also, for the record, since I spilled my guts over the fire a few nights ago, nothing's changed.
Nothing at all.
Except that maybe I've done a little inappropriate swooning over the little things. Like that Viktor always leaves a dry towel closest to the shower for me. That he preps my favorite vanilla caramel blend after he's made himself a pot of black coffee every morning. That he's been leaving puzzle books open on the table - which is very unlike him to leave anything out of its place - because I think he knows Papaya needs the mental challenge, but prefers to tackle them if she's solving something she thinks the last person wasn't smart enough to solve, or because she knows it would irritate her if someone else finished the puzzle she left for herself for later.
Which he's been doing the entire time we've been at the palace, I just hadn't caught on until yesterday.

~

"I trust you," she adds, softer.
I cannot imagine what that confession must cost her. "I swear on my honor, I shall do everything within my power to always keep that trust."
She blinks twice, and a soft smile teases her lips. "You're just saying that because you're holding my boobs."
I look down, and I feel a smile on my own. "I suppose 'tis possible. Perhaps I should hold your fanny and see if I feel compelled to make the same promise."
She's laughing as she pulls me in for another kiss. "I fucking adore you," she whispers.
"As you should."
That beautiful laugh rings in my ears, and I realize this is what my life has been missing.
The fun.
The relief of relaxing.
The beautiful side of unpredictability.
I stroked my thumbs along the edge of her bra. "I knew I missed you, but I daresay I had no idea how much until this very moment."
"You might be a little crazy," she whispers.
"Indeed."

More like 2 ½ 'My Lady' stars...

Pippa Grant definitely has a unique set of characters. There was crossovers from other books, which I've only read two of, and one really has to kind of go with the flow because there is one quirky thing after another. Hot air ballon rides that go awry, alpacas treated as a pet, polecats and nearly everything shaped like a heart. As for the main characters, Peach was as southern gal as one can get and Viktor was way too formal with his prim and proper way of talking. These two were polar opposites who didn't get off to a great start. And the one character that I wanted to shake some sense into: Peach's sister Papaya. She was a demon of child who needed a firm hand and not a trip to Europe.

Can't say I'm interested in reading the other books...this particular brand of funny sometimes doesn't always click with me. There's only so much "funny" disasters one can take.

My first read by Pippa Grant! I do admit it took me close to 20% of the book to get into the groove and the writing style (which is great because hers sure is unique!) and once I did, I couldn't pull myself away! I will definitely remember this book for a while :) Had some funny, ridiculous, hot scenes and they all were memorable in their own way!

Cute stand alone book in the world of Pippa Grant. While I've only read one other novel by Ms. Grant and therefore wasn't aware of most of the crossover characters, I could easily pick up the thread. It took me a little while to connect with these characters being that they are extremely quirky but they grew on me throughout the story. Folks already emotionally connected to the crossover characters would probably not experience that issue.

In Hot Heir, Viktor, personal bodyguard to His Royal Highness of Stollard, finds himself in need of a wife! After the (un)timely death of the King of Amoria (the land of love), Viktor has an opportunity to take the crown back for his family...but an archaic law requires he be married AND in love in order to take the rightful heirship.

Peach's life is more chaotic than an actual circus. Trying to adopt her half sister, Papaya (what is with these names? Lol) has hit a major snag. The incredibly biased judge of their fair town has decreed that a single, working woman is unable to take full time care of such a um, precocious teenager and is now requiring her to marry before he signs the adoption papers.

What are these two to do? Hilarity ensues as these two agree to a mutually beneficial arrangement and head off to Amoria. Hot Heir is ridiculously adorable and crazy sweet.

I’ve been reading Pippa’s books since her first release of Mr. McHottie. I’m always, always entertained by her hilarious sense of humor that she does such a great job of translating into her writing. Don’t get me wrong, these books are so much more than just funny, they have heart and are sprinkled with unicorn rainbows and happily ever afters. Hot Heir is another great story with all the funny plus lots of heart. Viktor and Peach, Papaya and Fred the Alpaca are along too. In todays world, Hot Heir is a great place to spend time lighting up your heart and having lots of fun to boot. Free up some time, grab a beverage of your choice and snuggle in your comfy reading spot for a fun and heartwarming time.

Hot Heir was another hilariously written novel by Pippa Grant full of crazy antics, off the wall chemistry that resulted in some pretty good ahem relations, and of course love. Love is a huge theme in this particular story as Viktor, one of the royal bodyguards of Prince Manning, has suddenly become King to the country of Amoria, the kingdom his grandfather was overthrown from and the original country of love. In order to inherit the kingdom Viktor needs to be married and in love with his bride. Peach has just recently come to be the sole guardian of her younger 14 year old half sister, Papaya, who she didn’t know even existed until fairly recently. Papaya acts out in extreme ways and the judge of their town refuses to sign over guardianship over the latest mishap unless Peach gets married. Viktor and Peach agree to marry each other for one year as a solution to their problems. And hilarity ensues. Pippa always writes a great story.

Hot Heir is a lighthearted romance with some hilarious moments and a tiny bit of angst thrown in for fun! Pippa Grant was a little over the top in this book but that made for a fun end of summer read!

The main characters, and even the secondary characters, kept me entertained throughout the book which was a marriage of convenience story. While the story was a little more silly side, I did feel that the actual story of Viktor and Peach could have shown through a tad bit more.

All in all, it was a quick, fun read.

This book was full of sweet, warm romance with lots of angst and hilarity thrown in. The writing of. Pippa Grant is full of depth and imagination of this slightly over the top romp that made me constantly smile and giggle.

The main characters were written extremely well with secondary ones adding enormously to this story. Each had a tale to tell which kept me entertained throughout the book; it was a fun, sexy, angsty read that I thoroughly enjoyed with great character development and an unusual unique story that had me smiling so many times.

A great book and one I thoroughly enjoyed reading!

I voluntarily reviewed an early copy of this book :) this was the second book I've read by this lovely author and once again I had the best time doing it :) she has the most unique and ridiculously hilarious writing style... I can't compare her to anyone else... :) this was technically a standalone, and it will work perfectly well if it'll be your very first book ever by her, but there are appearances of couples from her other stories and all sorts of connections between certain characters... :) if you haven't read yet those stories, the lack of background knowledge doesn't take away from your enjoyment of this one, but it will definitely made you curious to pick those novels up... let's just say that after reading this one, quite a few others landed on my #wishlist ;) now that we have this little explanation out of the way, let me tell you a bit more about our main couple from this book and then we shall jump into my thoughts and feelings about it :)

Victor is someone who we've met before... at least I assume that's the situation, because at the beginning of this book he's working as a bodyguard to a hero of a different story :) again, worry not if you haven't read that particular novel (I haven't) because it's fine, you get all the necessary informations about him here :) he's this tough guy, with a surprisingly sarcastic side :) he loves to annoy certain people... especially Peach :) she's apparently also someone we probably met before (not me, cause I haven't read enough of Pippa's books yet), because she's friends with the heroines of other stories :) I think it's one of those I-like-her-so-I-will-tug-on-her-ponytail situations ;) he likes to irritate her, because she's not a pushover and will definitely give him something right back :) Peach is a co-owner of a small company, doing her best to balance all of that, her personal life and taking care of her younger sister, Papaya... yep, you read that right :) Peach and Papaya... ;) at the beginning of the book each of them get an important news... Victor learns that he will become a king of a small country in Europe, but for that to be possible he has to married ASAP, and Peach discovers that for her to keep Papaya with her, she needs to be married as well, because the judge in her case doesn't think she can make it on her own... so they are both in a pickle... until they decide to... well, help each other out :) they agree for everything to last for one year, during which they both will be able to work on the stuff they have to change :) and it's all good and nice until some pesky little feelings start to appear between them ;) I won't say anything else, because I refuse to spoil you on any surprises ;) so instead, let me jump into my opinions about this gem :)

I gave this book 4,5 stars :) like I mentioned previously, it was ridiculously hilarious... and yes, I have to say it like that :) Pippa's books tend to have sometimes such ridiculous scenes and events, that if you'd told me about them before, I wouldn't be sure if I would like them... and yet she makes them work each and every time ;) I have such a good time while I read her stories... with the phenomenally entertaining writing style, her books always put the biggest smile on my face :) this one was no exception :) more than once I snort-laughed not caring if I was reading it at home or on my commute to work :) I adored our main couple... both of them were far from perfect, with Victor sometimes being too serious and Peach being definitely too stubborn, but all that made them only more real and human in my eyes :) plus, they had such great chemistry... :) not to mention that this book was filled with hilarious shenanigans of all sorts... :) you think you are prepared for all the surprises coming your way? think again... cause most definitely you're not ready... :) besides a truly great main couple, we have lots of secondary characters, most of them being couples that already have a story published, so if one of them will catch your eye, you can read more about them :) again, I don't want to say too much about how Victor and Peach will fall for one another and what sort of adventures will happen to them in this book, because that would ruin all sorts of hilarious surprises :) but rest assured... this is a hilarious story that will put you in the best possible mood :) you will have a huge grin while reading it :) it's a perfect example of Pippa Gran't writing style, so if you don't know her yet, I highly recommend you give her work a try ;) this little gem is the perfect way to start :)

XOXO

Hot Heir is a laugh out loud fun, sexy rom-com.

Viktor, one of the loyal guards of Prince Manning, has recently been informed he is royalty. But, to rule Amoria, he has to be married. Who better than the woman he loves antagonizing - Peach, the best friend of Prince Manning's wife? Peach is trying to obtain guardianship of her teenage sister, Papaya. But, thanks to the judge's ruling, she needs to be married. Who better to marry than the man she loves to antagonize - the royal guard to her best friend and best friend's husband?

I loved Hot Heir. It's so zany and snarky and fun, and downright sweet and sexy. Pippa Grant never fails to deliver the goods, and I think Hot Heir just may be her best yet.

I received an ARC for an honest review.

With every Pippa Grant book I read, I find I love her stories more and more. I find Pippa and the characters she writes to be quirky and lovable. You never know what direction her books will take, but in the end, you can’t help falling in love with the stories or characters. I love her unique choices in character names. It’s not everyday you read about a Peach, Viktor, and Papaya!

Viktor is a personal bodyguard, but he also finds himself next in line to be king of a country in his families past. The kicker is that he needs to be married. Peach reminds me of a tornado. Her life is wild and crazy, but that seems to be mostly due to her sister, Papaya. Papaya is out of hand and her parents are to blame but it’s up to Peach to reign her in make her/let her be the kid she really is.

Peach and Viktor have been my favorite couple so far. I love how annoyed they were (or seemed to be) with each other but couldn’t stay away.

I can’t wait to see what Pippa Grant comes up with in her next book!

Hot Heir is the story about Peach, Papaya (Peach’s sister) and Viktor. Peach and Viktor have an irritate each other to hate relationship. It was so fun to read about their antics with each other. It reminded me of a twelve-year-old boy who pulls the pigtails on the girl that he likes. Such a comedic romance book.

Viktor is currently the head bodyguard for Manning (the royal hockey player from Royally Pucked). Peach has a best friend, Joey, that she co-owns, Weightless, a flight adventure company with. Joey is from ‘The Pilot and the Puck-Up.

Peach finds herself in a precarious position, that just happens to include Viktor. Peach is trying to obtain legal guardianship of her sister, but the judge has ordered that Peach must marry first before this can happen. Consequently, Viktor finds himself in a position he never thought he’d be in. He just found out that he is king of Amoria (a small country that his grandfather was dethroned from). However, life as a royal may not be so ‘peachy’ (ha-ha, see what I did there😉). For Viktor to become king he needs to have a wife. Hilarity ensues as these two work to solve each other’s problems.

Hot Heir is a hilariously, well written book that is full of heat, chemistry, craziness, mishaps and love. Ms. Grant wrote another book that can be swung out of the park. It was a wonderful read!!

For a marriage of convenience trope (with a bodyguard turned king of a country with a palace modeled after the queen of heart's castle) it was actually really fun in a totally absurd kind of way. And sweet. And sexy.

If only this was a stand alone. There's like 50 other couples mentioned from I presume other Pippa Grant books that I haven't read and didn't care about.

Also I didn't put the pun in the title together until literally this second... Hot Heir - "hot air" like the surprising amount of hot air balloon related shenanigans in this. HA.

Well Pippa strikes again with Hot Heir.
I have received an ARC copy from the author for the honest review. So honestly if you want a laugh out romantic contract marriage love story, this is it. There are few common elements in Pippa's book.
-Berger twins and their antics ( my favorite )
-Characters from previous books which i also love though you can read this as stand alone also. But trust me you will be tempted to know more about them.
-Badass female protagonist
-Swoon worthy male protagonist
-Animals-this time it was Fred (the alpaca) though this time there the wasn't much detail about his character apart from fact that Fred was she.
-problems which as society we face but dealt in humorous manner and with solutions about the said problems .
Peach Maloney- badass sassy women and co-owner of successful aircraft business weightless. Peach need a man to get the custody of her half sister Papaya because of stupid judge who think women are not capable to handle responsibilities.
Victor- bodyguard of prince Manning of stolland found out that he is an heir of Kingdom name Amoria which has been snatched away from his grandfather. To reclaim his heritage he needs a wife .
Therefore an interesting journey starts of laugh out movements, romance, wrong done to people in the name of love and feel good read.

Hot Heir is the seventh book in an interconnected series by Pippa Grant. It features Peach, the other half of Weightless and Viktor, Manning Frey’s head of security whom we’ve met in earlier books, as well as Peach’s sister Papaya and Meemaw, their grandmother. Both have almost as much of a story as our stoic couple.
Peach and Viktor have little liking for each other, or so it seemed, but after one hot air balloon and police car chase escapade, they are forced to become rather more acquainted with each other than either of them would have planned. It’s a love to hate you kind thing they have going on, while pretending to be a newly happily married couple.
Peach needed a husband and Viktor needed a wife. A match made in heaven? Hardly lol.
But, for a man who has gone from bodyguard to royalty to royalty himself, it’s a small price to pay. He has to live with his ‘prickly’ Peach of a wife for a year and try not to fall in love with her.
Viktor, he was very protective of his family and had a heart of gold. He did everything he could to make things right for Peach and her younger sister.
Peach didn’t believe love was meant for her, she’s had a difficult past and found it hard to open up to Viktor, but once those floodgates were breached she didn’t hold back.
I loved the snaky banter these two shared, it was so funny and often caustic at times, but watching the fall for each other, was fun. Pippa handled the story as only she can with laughter, love and some outright devilment too. And those hot, sexy times???
Shower sex will seem tame after reading this story!!!
A perfect late summer read and one I highly recommend.

Yeah, I’ve been binging HARD on these books. Pippa is like, my new addiction. Pippa, if you’re reading this, WRITE FASTER, I’m running out of stories!

K, so there’s all this hilarity with the hot air balloons. Which, for me, don’t get old. There’s a ton of other stuff for comedic value, but that this couple was straight up jinxed and it was hilarious!

And then there’s the back and forth between super proper Viktor and feisty, fierce AF southern Peach (yeah, I never stopped laughing at the names), and it’s great because the personalities are really well written and so different and so distinct.

And then there’s the lovely bit where this book is super pro equality, and that always pleases me greatly.

As an extra, I downloaded bonus bits in hopes of finding out where the smelly not skunks (I can’t remember how to spell their species) came from. I’m slightly annoyed I didn’t get closure on that. But, I learned how much of a badass Meemaw is, and that was FANTASTIC. #worthit #totalbleepinghero

So yeah. Definitely another book I super enjoyed.
