A Cocky Hero Club Novel

Carlina Pérez is in way over her head. Unexpectedly jobless and fostering an exotic pet with an insatiable appetite, this pastry chef needs a new gig faster than she can whip up a batch of scones. But when she’s tapped to serve as the personal chef to a haughty tabloid regular, she only considers the job out of sheer desperation. After all, Giorgio Acardi may be filthy rich and intoxicatingly handsome, but he’s also a first-class scoundrel.

Giorgio Acardi has it all: money, fame, an endless string of beautiful companions, and the respect of his colleagues and rivals. From the outside looking in, his life is perfect. So perfect, in fact, that he’s even got his eye on a new personal chef. She’s talented and gorgeous, and it shouldn’t make a difference whether she hates him or not as long as she does the job. But there’s something about Carlina that Giorgio just can’t resist, and he hasn’t enjoyed success by backing down from a challenge.

It looks like i found another gem that has been waiting in my library, one that i,to my shame, had forgotten i had….
It was a story of how two very different people found they had a lot in common.
How first impressions could lead to deeper feelings,in spite of how impossible it might seem at first.
How a delicious dessert changed their world for the better….

Sexy Scoundrel was so much fun to read with Carli’s soft heart giving into her bestie’s pleas, even though she knew better.
And as a result giving all sorts of animals a safe place to live.
With her accepting Antonio as he was,a beautiful soul waiting for someone to see him for he was.
And at the same time,as the only woman he’d ever met, refusing to fall for Giorgio.
Because,in her eyes,he was a spoiled rich guy that thought money could buy anything.
Only, once she got to know him, once she heard where he and his brother Antonio came from, she started to see a different man….
Giorgio may have done his best to build a certain image for a good reason,he ended up becoming that man to some degree.
And it took a woman like Carli to show him he needed to change….

I loved Carli’s latest addition to her zoo,Leonard the lion!
He really was a sweet pussycat that still had a fabulous roar.
Antonio may have been “different”,he still knew what mattered most in life.
And he knew he and his brother needed someone like Carli in their lives.
Especially when Giorgio ended up being a single dad…..

I hated their aunt Prosperina with a vengeance, that woman was a vicious viper that needed to be locked up!
What she did to Giorgio and Antonio when they were kids should never have happened, and her husband never did anything to stop her….
Carli’s ex,he was another person i would’ve like to hurt….badly!
That mean, lazy SOB should’ve been on his knees, grateful for everything Carli did for him!
Instead,he used her,and after he fired her, setting her free,he still did his best to hurt her in any way he could….

In the end, everyone got what they deserved, and it was good to see the newly made family was in a good place.

Carlina Perez finds herself unexpectedly jobless, loosing her job as a pastry chef hurts but her boss and ex-boyfriend was a epic ass, stealing her recipes and being an all round jackass. When she finds herself working as a personal chef to tabloid regular - Giorgio Acardi, she only takes the job out of desperation. Giorgio may be filthy rich and hot as hell, but she's determined things will remain professional - having no desire to be another notch on his bedpost.

The start of this had me close to stopping, some of Giorgio's initial thoughts annoyed me.

Honestly just an ok one time read. Still really like the cover

Sexy Scoundrel is a story with plenty packed into it, and while it hooked me, I wasn’t quite as lost to it as I could have been. In fact, I feel this is because there was a bit too much in it and certain elements were not given the level of attention they could have been.

There were certain elements of this story that were great, details that had me deeply invested in how things were going to develop and play out. I enjoyed the characters and watching how things grew between them, but there wasn’t quite the level of magic that I would have liked. I wanted to go deeper, I wanted more of certain details, and the ending felt a wee bit rushed to me.

Despite this, it was an addictive read that had me hooked throughout and it certainly kept me turning the pages.

I have to say this book kept me interested from the first page to the last. The cast of characters is amazing and I love them all, except Proserpina! Carly and Giorgio had a hard road but it was worth it! To see the growth in Antonio was amazing too! I want a Leonard the Lion! Giorgio definitely deserves his place in my harem!

Sexy Scoundrel is the first book from the Cocky Hero Club world / series that I'm listening to but it won't be the last as 33 of them are available on Audible Escape. I don't know how many I'll end up reading but my guess is a lot. From time to time, I'll pick one at random probably and listen to it.

Sexy Scoundrel was nice enough and I liked it but it's not a book I would think about twice. In it, you'll meet Carlina, a pastry chef who recently got fired and stolen recipes from her jerk of a boss who also happens to be her ex-boyfriend. I have no idea why she dated him in the first place but what matters is that she figured out her mistake. Now she's looking for a new job but the rich guy who wants to hire her at all costs isn't someone she wants to spend time with. She doesn't like our hero at first but after a while, she got close to his brother who has Downs Syndrome. Our hero has a close bond to his brother so that means a lot to him to see him like that with our heroine.

Now, overall I enjoyed it. I liked the representation in it and the story held my attention. It was sexy too even though there were too many mentions of spanking lmao. I felt like one line was repeated over and over. Other than that, I don't have a lot to say :) - No wait, I just remembered that the drama with annoyed me at the end. I didn't feel like this book needed it.

Being my first book from Raisa, I didn’t know what to expect, but I was so excited with the blurb. I always loved a good pastry chef story, then we have a exotic pet and a sexy guy? Ohhh bring me in!!!

Raisa did an amazing job with this book, I felt a lot of emotions, laugh, I yelled, cried, got angry and so much more. Carlina is a strong, sassy, even though she went through a lot in life. What I liked even more about her is how she didn’t fall at his feet instantly and made Giorgio work for it.

Giorgio is a billionaire who have it all, and the ladies at his feet, a little cocky at times. He is a hardworking guy and loves his family, trying to take good care of them. Until he tasty Carly’s food and gives her a job, one she can’t refuse as being unemployed.

I love the pets so much and I was have so much fun when they are portrait so well done! I even want one for me! Also I enjoyed a lot the side characters, specially Antonio! He was the best!

Giorgio and Carly had to overcome a lot and I think both of them rock and turn their worlds upside down. They also had to break down their walls and show some vulnerabilities. But they were so right for each other, they had so much chemistry that it was hot. I couldn’t had enough!

The ending was crazy! But so deserving, it was full of love and only proved how they were stronger together. Can’t wait to read more from the author.

This book completely surprised me in the best of ways! This is my first time reading anything by this talented author, and I will definitely be on the lookout for more of her books!

In this one we have Giorgio, a hard working, cocky, arrogant playboy who always seems to be graced on the tabloids. What others don't seem to see is exactly how big his heart is: all he cares about is his brother and wants to provide him the best life possible. (His brother has Downs Syndrome, and is really just a lovely character. Our author did a wonderful job on this emotional subject.)

Caitlin is a pastry chef who just can't seem to catch a break. There two instantly but heads in the best of ways, and we all know that when there is animosity, there is passion, and these two had that in spades. Their connection was truly wonderful, and I just adored this book!

Antonio is the purest, most beautiful soul that I've had the pleasure of reading in a long time. He alone is worth one clicking this amazing book!!

**I received an ARC of this book and these are my honest opinions!**

Title: Sexy Scoundrel
Author: Raisa Greywood
Format: Ebook
Genre: Romance - Comedy, Enemies to Lovers, Billionaire, Foodie, BDSM
Standalone: Yes
Part of a Series: Part of the Cocky Hero Club - a spin-off of Vi Keeland and Penelope Wards Cocky Bastard
POV: Carlina and Giorgio
Steam Level: Slow burn to toasty
4/5

Overall Sexy Scoundrel was a fun book that made me laugh and cry. Sexy Scoundrel was set basically in my backyard, since I used to live in Temecula so that tickled me throughout. I loved Antonio (Gabriel's brother) and the push and pull between Carli and Gio. i wasn't expecting it go so off the rails but what a fun ride that was. I loved Leonard the Lion. This whole book was a blast but that cover does not do it justice. If you're looking for a funny, steamy romance with a pet lion and a ton of sass then check out Sexy Scoundrel.

I received an advanced copy of this book for free. This is my honest and voluntary review.

I love this author’s writing and when she announced she was going to write a story in this collection I jumped on it!! I devoured this book in one sitting because it is heartwarming, sweet and heartbreaking at times. Giorgio is a witness to Carlina’s life falling apart and after he tastes her food he is determined to hire her as his personal chef. Giorgio is cocky, arrogant and a playboy but underneath the façade he is a really sweet guy just wanting to do right by his brother. Antonio, his brother is a beautiful soul. Can Carlina and Giorgio fight the attraction to each other?

There is so much to this book that is beyond the romance journey of Gio & Carli. My emotions were all over the place with this one! In true Raisa Greywood form, the story is a little bit crazy and a whole lot emotional. This is a highly entertaining read, but it does pack a punch so be ready!

Really sweet story and a fast read. I would have rated higher but the reasons Carli gave for not being with Gio and why the broke up didn’t fly with me. Carli was totally ungrateful in my opinion and she got on my nerves. Good read though and very sweet at the end.

I’ve been looking forward to this book when it was first announced and I will say that Raisa Greywood did not disappoint. This was such a fun read that I’m not sure where to begin. If you read her other contemporary billionaire romance, then I’ll stop right here and say, buy this book. It’s great! If you haven’t read it or on the fence, then let me go on. Ms. Greywood has this amazing knack to take a common book trope and flip it upside down. Sure, we have Giorgio, billionaire extraordinaire who has a knack for gracing the tabloids. And we have a recently fired chef who is all sorts of girl-next-door attractive with a mouth that would make a sailor blush. Perfect recipe for a relationship, right? Not according to Carlina.

So, likes/loves: Most of the time, billionaire stories tend to feature a woman in need (generically speaking) and it’s often financial. While yes, Carlina was fired from her job, she was adamant that she didn’t want anything to do with Giorgio and her animosity toward him was pure delight. I loved her threats of bodily harm. Add in that Antonio was a wonderful bonding agent (glue, I mean, glue) between the two and Ms. Greywood did a fantastic job developing both Gio and Carli through Antonio. And it wouldn’t be a great novel without some fab secondary characters and an elderly lion to really mix things up. And I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention the food porn; at least if the moans and groans and blissful expressions on the characters’ faces are anything to say for it. Let’s add in some of the cultural references, which were endearing and had me making a list to see what I want to rewatch. And of course, there’s the amazing attraction between the two to round out the story.

There’s some great laugh out loud lines in the story that I couldn’t help highlighting as I read. To share, without revealing any spoilers: “I was going to die. The paramedics were going to find me tied to the bed with my a$$ up in the air and a stupid cheesy grin on my face. It would stick there with rigor and the funeral home would have to close my casket because everyone would f****** know I died having raunchy sex with a man I shouldn’t have. My mother would never be able to show her face in public again, and all my aunties would whisper behind lace mantillas about the man who could give a woman a smile like that. I’d be a cautionary tale for young girls at Quinceañera celebrations forever.”

So, let this review be a caution to you. If you want to read an encompassing, oft-hilarious, feel-good story with great characters, a well-told plot, lots of animals, food porn, and grand fun, then you want Sexy Scoundrel.

Sexy Scoundrel by Raisa Greywood is A Cocky Hero Club Novel, which means there’s more to choose from by some great authors. Get moving and get clicking.

Can Giorgio win Carli’s heart with the biggest Grand Gesture of them all?: Sexy Scoundrel by Raisa Greywood

What you need to know about Sexy Scoundrel:
✔ Enemies-to-Lovers
✔ Complete stand-alone
✔ Dual POV
✔ Gorgeous tabloid-bait playboy
✔ Sassy heroine who fosters exotic animals (Leonard the friendly Lion)
✔ a tiny bit of kink
✔ If you loved Cocky Bastard by Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward, you will get to see more of Chance and Aubrey.

Raisa Greywood is another new author that the Cocky Hero Club has introduced me to and I’m so grateful. “Sexy Scoundrel” has roots in the original series through Chance and Aubrey, the lead characters in Cocky Bastard. They are friends of Carlina Perez who helps Aubrey by fostering her large animal rescues on her farm and they also know “tabloid bait” playboy Giorgio Acardi the real estate developer, as he sometimes donates to Aubrey’s animal shelter.

Carlina, a pastry chef, is fired by her douchey ex one night which leaves her looking for a job. Giorgio is looking for someone to possibly be a personal chef for his brother, Antonio, who is an adult with Down’s Syndrome. Carli really dislikes Giorgio on first meeting him so the personal chef job is a definite non-starter. Eventually they come to an arrangement in which Antonio will work for Carli on her farm. Antonio is a big fan of Leonard the lion who she has just started fostering. Gradually Carli teaches Antonio to cook and to handle the animals and the machinery on the agreement that Giorgio stays away from the farm. Through circumstance, Giorgio and Carli are forced into close proximity and learn to get along and their attraction ignites. Carli agrees to give Gio 6 weeks to prove himself to her but things don’t go as planned. Will he be able to pull off his grand gesture and win her heart?

One of my favourite parts included Gio and Carli geeking out over Firefly. (same!)

Sexy Scoundrel is a heartwarming, sweet, yet little bit kinky, funny, smart, HEA romance that you will love.

WRITING STYLE: 4/5
PLOT: 4/5
WORLD-BUILDING: 4/5
CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT: 4/5
ROMANCE: 4/5
HEAT: 5/5

Many thanks to Give Me Books Promotions, the Cocky Hero Club, and Raisa Greywood for an ARC in exchange for an honest book review of “Sexy Scoundrel”. My thoughts and opinions are 100% my own and independent of receiving an advance copy.

I really enjoy the first half or so of this book with the new characters and some other characters I have already read about in other Cocky Hero Club books. I got to the big sex scene and for some reason, it just lost me I can not explain why other than I just simply didn't want to read the scene which went for a few chapters. I did pick the book up the next day to complete the story and I am completely happy I did as wow I did not see the ending coming the way it did.

Giorgio Acardi is a man that gets what he wants and if he can't get it he will buy it. With money brings power and Giorgio likes to use that power to gain what he wants not just for himself but for his brother. When his junk food/television addicted brother offers to eat broccoli if he could eat more of the cupcakes that Giorgio brought home he knows his next move is going to benefit them both this time.

Antonio Acardi is Giorgio's brother who lives with him as he has Down Syndrom. He loves Leonard the Lion and when he meets both Leonard and Carli he finds a new purpose in his life.

Carlina Perez is a chef that hates her job not because of the cooking but because of the ex-boyfriend/ business partner. She is a girl that knows her mind and will do what she believes is right.

The first night Giorgio meets Carlina is the night she is sacked by the ex and can leave the restaurant she hates working in. But this leaves her unemployed with many mouths to feed, with many more to come as her friend Audrey talks her into taking even more animals including a Lion from her animal shelter to her growing property.

Lion - Leonard is just a big pussy cat that will still the story at many times.

A few twist and turn along the journey of this book that will give you a feeling of connection with the other books in this series. He may be a cocky man but he finds his match in this woman if he can catch her and keep her.

This is the first book that i've read by this author and this book is part of the Cocky Hero Club Series. This book has all the feels going on and is very emotionally heartbreaking at times. This book will hold your attention and keep you reading throughout.

Giorgio is a sexy, hot, hard working and rich cocky dude that is very sure of himself and is sometimes quite arrogant. He can have what ever he wants and always does and the thing he wants now is her.
Carlina is a chef and she is going through quite a tough time at the moment as she has no job and Giorgio wants to help her out in any way he can, by working for him. Once they both start spending time together they start to realise that something is starting to happen.
( NO SPOILERS)

This book does have a lot of great characters in it and you feel like your really rooting for them. They have this sizzling connection and what they feel is off the charts. This book is funny, sexy and steamy and you will cry and laugh all at the same time. This book does have your emotions up and down quite a bit too. My only thing was I felt at times the story was a tab predictable and I knew what was going to happen, but it was till a great read.

This book is another great addition in the Cocky Hero Club Series and I cant wait to read the next installment.

Thank you to author and publishers for allowing me to read an early copy of this book. ARC provided in exchange for a honest voluntary review.

This is my first read by Raisa - I am so pleased and loved everything about this book. She weaved the perfect story with low drama (there are a couple of WTF moments thanks to a more than crazy aunt), fantastic banter, and a plot that was really entertaining. I went thru so many emotions while reading this and don't regret any of them. Seriously, where else are you going to read a romance that includes having a pet lion and make you want to open your own animal sanctuary?!
I loved the main characters, Giorgio and Carli, so much but found myself connecting with the side characters as well. I think I ended up loving Antonio a little more than the main characters because he had more growth than the main characters and I can't forget Hunter and Jeremy as well. I think that was my favorite thing about this story overall - Raisa had me loving everyone (except that one crazy aunt that I wanted to slap). The cherry on the cake was seeing Aubrey and Chance and getting the glimpse of Graham. In my opinion, Raisa has written a perfect romance filled with tons of love and emotion, added in just a soft touch of bdsm, and the characters were perfect (flaws and all). I'm happy I have added this to my kindle library because I can see myself reading it again in the future. This is definitely another Cocky Hero Club series addition that deserves more than 5 stars.

I really enjoyed this read and it was the first time I have read anything by this author and I definitely want to read more. Giorgio is this hard working, arrogant, cocky, playboy who is all over tabloids constantly. What we don't realize is that behind his playboy façade is a man that wants to do right by his brother and provide him with a great life. Carlin is a pastry chef who goes through a rough patch and needs a new job. She has a caring and loving side, yet at times she was kind of judgmental towards Giorgio, was he arrogant? yes but she just flat out didn't want him around while she watched his brother. Antonio was a beautiful soul and I loved him instantly. The connection between the two main characters was off the charts and they tried so hard to fight things, but sometimes fate has other plans. I was so happy to see Chance because he is one of my favorites from another series. Another great read for this cocky series!!

When Carlina is fired from her job as a pastry chef by her ex it is a mixed blessing as she needs the income it generates to support her farm and her animals but working for her ex was getting more difficult every day.

Giorigio’s reputation precedes him so when he offers Carlina a job cooking for his brother who has Down’s Syndrome she is hesitant. She agrees but she has stipulations when it comes to her employment however Giorgia is drawn to her in a way he has never felt before and he is determined to show her that he is not the man she thinks he is.

This is the first book that I have read by this author, but I would definitely read her other stories. Carlina challenges Giorigio at every turn and she makes him want to be a better man. There is a great balance between romance, humor and emotion that will have you invested in their happy ever after.

This book was phenomenal. It was a roller coaster of every emotion one could feel under the sun. It was sweet , heartwarming, emotional & at times heartbreaking. This story was unpredictable and kept me hooked to my kindle and keep turning the pages. Giorgio & Carlina’s characters were well developed and multidimensional. There was more to both of them then meet the eyes and what they both portrayed. I loved Antonio’s and the beautiful character development of his character from when he was introduced and how his character develops. This is another great addition to Corky Hero Club and I was pleasantly surprised how many of Vi & Penelope original characters were incorporated in this story. Definitely a must read.

Sexy Scoundrel by Raisa Greywood is part of the Cocky Hero Club Series. This is the story of Giorgio Acardi and Carlina Pére, but it is a standalone book. Giorgio is a hardworking man who is trying to care for his family but does come off cocky...and the tabloids love to write about him. When Giorgio taste Carlina's food he wants her for his chef and he knows she is going through a hard patch. Carliana is a caring and loving person who takes in an exotic pet after her friend contacts her. But she is just out of work and can't say no to the job that Giorgio offers. This opens them up to find out things they didn't know they wanted and breaks down their misconception that they had. Enjoyed their story and hope to read more from this author.

Every time I get to read a new book in the Cocky World series, I know for certain I won't be disappointed. This new to me author proved my theory correct when I was able to sit down to read Sexy Scoundrel.

When fate plays a role in Carlina being jobless, suddenly her world gets turned upside down when billionaire Giorgio comes into her life, and suddenly, things are no longer the same song and dance for Carlina's life.

For Giorgio, taking in a woman like Carlina may just turn his world upside down. Question is, is he ready for the bumpy ride of love to sweep him off his feet?

The plot of this story was well-developed, and I found myself being entertained by the characters and their budding romance

What a great fun book to read!! Raisa Greywood is a new to me author and boy did I sure enjoy her writing and characters. Giorgio and Carlina are great main characters and I love how feisty and strong Carli is regardless of all that she has been through. Giorgio has met his match with Carlli and I love how she doesn't fall at his feet and really make him work for everything. Antonio and Leonard, OMG best secondary characters EVER!!!! I loved how the animals were worked into the story as so many time forgot they weren't actual people. I will absolutely be checking out this author's back list of books. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book for an honest review.

This was an incredibly fantastic book. Gio and Carli are great characters, and I really love them so much.

Gio is actually an interesting character. I think that he's a good man, but he doesn't always think about his actions, and he just wants to try and make things better, but he doesn't always go about the right way.

I think that Carli has such a lovely heart. She loves everyone, well except for maybe Gio. She takes in lions, bison, camels, and Antonio. She just collects everyone and makes them part of her family. She makes it seem like she's hard and tough, but she really has a gooey center.

I like Antonio. It was good to see a character with Down Syndrome who was a major part of the story. It doesn't work without him, and it works so well. Fantastic.

We have Giorgia Acardi, rich, sexy and knows how to use his charms then we have Carlina who is way over her head. In some ways felt Raisa Greywood was putting alot on her shoulders but man she powers through it with charm, elegance and tons of fight. I loved seeing that this wasn't all just about Giorgi but also his little brother and how Carlina makes him feel normal and a fighter as well. This is more than a chef looking for a job and a man looking to control someone but two people seeing there is more to life then work and money. Loved it.

Carlina finds herself unemployed at the same time her best friend contacts her about taking in an unexpected exotic rescue. Giorgio is witness to Carlina’s life falling apart. After eating her food he is determined that she become his personal chef. Carlina knows she should refuse anything that brings her closer to Giorgio but can she resist?

Loved Leonard and the part he plays in Sexy Scoundrel! This was a sexy story that was so much deeper than I expected. Antonio was so sweet and you couldn’t help but fall in love with him. Raisa added great characters to the Cocky Hero Club World. I am looking forward to reading more of her books.
