Powerful Bastard: A Hero Club Novel Kindle Edition

4.2 out of 5 stars 84 ratings

A BASTARD YOU WILL LOVE TO HATE

Melody

“Excuse me, sir, I know this sounds strange, but can I buy that bagel from you?”
I didn’t know at the time that one simple question would change my life irrevocably.
Not to mention the tall, dark, and handsome stranger that came with it.
As a struggling musician in New York, I’d take all the help I could get.
But I wondered at what price? Because, as handsome and powerful as Bentley Schilling was, he was still a bastard.

Bentley

I’d never forget the day Melody Dumas approached me in that bagel shop.
I sure as hell didn’t plan to offer her assistance. But when she flashed those deep brown eyes, she could get any man to do her bidding.
The streets of New York were not an easy road—one must earn their way. But this beauty was different. She needed to be on a stage, not singing on a street corner.
I had the power to help her make beautiful music.
Question was . . . what was in it for me?

Powerful Bastard is a witty, sexy love story about a free-spirited musician who just might bring a Manhattan powerhouse to his knees.

Powerful bastard was a good quick read it kept me entertained. I liked the beginning of how they met and interacted. I was expecting a bit more drama with the ex and was a bit disappointed and I would of loved a bigger epilogue - I love epilogues and would of liked a bit more info of them to read of what happens with them.
    But a good read

This is a fun, quick read. Ben and Melody are a strange couple. Melody busks on street corners and believes the best of everyone. Ben is the archetypal cocky bastard, believing he can have anything he wants. I enjoyed their story through all the ups and downs. Ben does ultimately get what he wants but not at the expense of Melody and what she wants. He likes to be in charge, but Melody doesn't let him run rough shod over her life. She's feisty and determined to make her dreams come true.

Melody was a entrepreneur working on the streets of New York. When she is too late to get the bagel for her friend who shares his corner with her so she can street sing. She asks Ben, who takes the last bagel to sell it to her, he takes a bite just to be annoying to her. Then Ben semi stalks her, until Melody gives in to date him.
This book is fun and sassy, a lot of twists and turns and a little angsty.
    I would definitely recommend.

This was a beautiful story of two people finding love in each other for what is in the inside. Two completely different worlds. Each finding what the other needs. Songbird and Ben will have it all for the future. I loved their story it was just a beautiful read from their first bagel encounter........

Melody is such a sweet character. I was rooting for her all the way. She made Ben work for what he wanted and I loved that she was not a pushover with him. I also smiled at his continued nickname for her. So very sweet. Great short story and a pleasure to read.

Not my favorite from this world, but as always, it was fun seeing the OG characters, this time Graham and Soraya with mentions of Chance. The audiobook kept me entertained, I'm not sure I wouldn't have DNF'd without it. Not for any particular reason, I just wasn't all that into the story itself.
