Broken: A Second Chance Romance Kindle Edition
After my brother's death, I was drowning.
Delilah was my life raft.
We were opposites, the outspoken art student and the brooding athlete. She was passionate where I was apathetic, bright where I was dark, soft where I was hard.
For two years, we had everything. Then she left and took my heart with her.
I tried to heal. To throw myself into medical school. To forget her.
I thought I did.
Until today.
Those blue eyes, that sweet smile, the soft groan--that's my Delilah.
As soon as I hear her laugh, I know.
She's what's missing from my life.
I have three days. Either I win her back or I stay broken forever.
From the author: Broken is a standalone second chance romance full of heat, heart, and heartbreak. Come see why readers say "Crystal Kaswell is the master of writing sharp, wounded characters who keep you on your toes."

She especially loves flawed characters who help each other heal. Her books are the perfect mix of heat, humor, and heart.
When she isn't writing, she's chain drinking tea, dancing, or debating which fictional character would be the best in bed. Originally from Southern California, she now resides in the Pacific Northwest, where she spends the rainy winters dreaming of sunny skies and balmy beaches.

This is the story of Delilah and Trent, Delilah is leaving Trent she wasn’t going to tell him she slept with him one last time and when Trent left for the day Delilah left him a note saying that she loved him but told him to not try and find out where she is. Two years later Delilah is back for her sisters wedding and Trent saw her near the shop all she said was good luck with his finals then she walked off. Trent wanted to be a doctor and all he has done for the last two years is study with a broken heart now Delilah is back but can he forgive her he has so many questions but will Delilah tell him the truth of why she left?. This is such a fantastic story a 5 plus ⭐️ read and I highly recommend this book it’s definitely well worth the read, I loved this story and I know you will too.

- Reviewed in Australia on 1 September 2018Wow, this book.
If feels wrong that I loved it because of what it is about.
Truely incredible and well written. I was deeply emotional whilst reading this book, it brought back a lot.
I don’t think I’ve ever read a book of this size in one sitting but that’s what this story did. It pulled me in and made me feel like I was going on the emotional journey with Trent and Delilah.
I’m very happy that the story didn’t play out like other romances and Delilah was sudden better after founding love.
I’m glad that Crystal pushed that boundary and has Delilah still fighting everyday but now has an amazing support system.

5.0 out of 5 stars Heartbreak, Love, and Healing
Verified PurchaseTrent and Delilah's love story is complicated, heartbreaking, soul searching, and brought tears to my eyes several times. Crystal writes stories that have real-life, relatable life issues that have her characters and their story lines staying with you long after your done reading. Trent is spiraling because of his brothers suicide and his parents absence from his life. Delilah's story is one you learn overtime and thru flashbacks in the book. Paired up for a class project, they begin an unlikely relationship. Delilah leaves him and town abruptly after a couple of years together. A chance meeting 2 years later when she is back in town for her sister's wedding brings them back together. Trent is determined to keep her and learn why she left him. Delilah just wants to know She didn't break him completely when she left. This book deals with the sensitive subject of suicide, depression and how hard the road to recovery can be.
Trent to Delilah:
"You're carved into my soul, Del. No matter what I do. I wish I had the kind of poetry you deserve. That we were doing this on the water. With a flash mob singing a Hole song. But this is what I've got." I take her hand and place it on my chest. "My heart. It's yours. Whether you want it or not."
"I do."
"I love you, baby. No matter what you did. No matter how broken you believe you are. I love every single part of you."

4.0 out of 5 stars 3.5 stars
Verified PurchaseHOT... the number of well written and varied steamy scenes, while always staying in character is amazing.
The characters are also fun... ish. So perfect for each other it's frustrating that they aren't together and you don't really get the why until almost the end.
The problem with this book is that it drags. There is a big 'mystery' that they dance around for so long, it just drains you. Then, by 50% you have a decent clue, but you have another 40% before it's actually revealed and dealt with.
I understand the mental health angle and that it needs some depth... so if you are into a lot of internal dialog and care more about the people than the couple, this is a 5 Star read for you. If not, read it when you have time. RYAN'S BED does something similar in a more engaging way for me.
