A Royally Inconvenient Marriage Kindle Edition
But to save my sister, I had to make a bargain with the devil, and that deal comes with a real crown.
I always thought Mr. Tall, Dark, and Grumpy was one more pompous, arrogant man who loved to use his fancy accent and posh manners to remind me just how many stations above me he is in life.
But he’s secret royalty, the new heir to a kingdom, in need of an immediate wife to claim his throne. I need a husband to get custody of my sister. We’re both in a bad spot, with an even worse solution.
But the biggest problem? Bigger than living halfway around the world from my home, bigger than being away from my best friend, and bigger than having to put my own career on hold?
The biggest problem might be that once I get to know what makes his heart beat, he might not be such a devil after all.
And when he’s changed the laws of his country so that I don’t have to stay, he’ll have no reason to keep me.
A Royally Inconvenient Marriage is a romping fun marriage of convenience between a surprise heir and a professional hot mess, complete with the bedroom to end all bedrooms, a run-down alpaca, and that thing with the hot air balloons. This romantic comedy stands alone with no cheating or cliffhangers and ends with a royally awesome happily ever after.

About the author

Pippa Grant wanted to write books, so she did.
Before she became a USA Today and #1 Amazon bestselling romantic comedy author, she was a young military spouse who got into writing as self-therapy. That happened around the time she discovered reading romance novels, and the two eventually merged into a career. Today, she has more than 30 knee-slapping Pippa Grant titles and nine published under the name Jamie Farrell.
When she’s not writing romantic comedies, she’s fumbling through being a mom, wife, and mountain woman, and sometimes tries to find hobbies. Her crowning achievement? Having impeccable timing for telling stories that will make people snort beverages out of their noses. Consider yourself warned.

- Reviewed in Australia on 31 August 2018With character names such as Peach and Papaya, pet alpacas masquerading as unicorns, hot air balloon thefts and smelly polecats, well, it can only be a Pippa Grant book! And in HOT HEIR we get another book with Pippa’s trademark zany antics and slapstick-style humour.
It’s Viktor and Peach’s turn this time. We have met them in previous books but this time, Viktor is no longer a royal bodyguard, and instead finds himself the heir of a European House of Royalty. Peach is still a hardworking business owner but finds herself the guardian of her 14 year old sister – a sister who is constantly finding trouble. Their individual circumstances dictate that both Viktor and Peach need get to married. They may find each other annoying, but at least they’re not strangers to one another, so why not marry each other. Only for the sake of convenience, of course.
On paper, Viktor and Peach are so very different. Their background, their experiences and even they way they talk is so diverse. Yet, there’s an attraction between them that neither can resist; an attraction that heats up nicely once they get started and leads to some very steamy times.
I much preferred the latter half of the book, especially the last quarter. I found the story much more focused on our main characters. At this point Viktor and Peach really begin to let down their guard with one another and we get some wonderful moments between them.
The first half of the book was more of a struggle. I felt there were too many competing storylines and characters that took my attention away from Viktor and Peach. I am glad I persevered because I finished the book on a high.
As always, there is plenty of humour and some wild adventures to be experienced.
- Reviewed in Australia on 31 August 2018This book was full of sweet, warm romance with lots of angst and hilarity thrown in. The writing of. Pippa Grant is full of depth and imagination of this slightly over the top romp that made me constantly smile and giggle.
The main characters were written extremely well with secondary ones adding enormously to this story. Each had a tale to tell which kept me entertained throughout the book; it was a fun, sexy, angsty read that I thoroughly enjoyed with great character development and an unusual unique story that had me smiling so many times.
A great book and one I thoroughly enjoyed reading!

3.0 out of 5 stars Good romance!
Verified PurchaseEven though the writing is a little lacking and the internal dialog of the characters is time exasperating because of the poorly written invented and southern slang the story is entertaining and character like Papaya and Alexander steal the show.

5.0 out of 5 stars A high-brow fun romp!
Verified PurchaseFrom the moment I saw the cover and envisioned Viktor as Nanny Fine’s Maxwell Shepherd, this book has had me laughing. I love all the characters, especially Papaya, but Peach and Viktor are adorable together. I knew he’d give up his crown for her, but I’m so happy they’re staying in Armoria. Love this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hot Heir is hot indeed
Verified PurchaseWhat a pure fun, escapist, silly smile gem of a read.
Hot Heir follows the unconventional love story of Peach and Viktor. Peach, best friend of Grace (Royally Pucked) and Viktor, royal bodyguard to Manning (Royally Pucked) have been antagonising each other for a while but haven't acted upon an uneasy attraction. That all changes when circumstances conspire to throw them head first into a marriage of convenience.
Both protagonists are honestly marrying each other for the most honourable of reasons but the attraction that has simmered unfulfilled has a chance to ignite. And phew, does it ignite🔥
Throw into the mix a teenage rebel half sister, a series of hot air balloon mishaps, a crumbling palace and a country which has an obsession with romance and it's a recipe for another fantastical, expertly written love story.
Peach is the sort of woman you'd want as a friend and Viktor is definitely the hero she deserves.
I also appreciated the addition of the word 'tis, it is woefully underused in books nowadays 😂
Can't wait for more books from this very talented author.

5.0 out of 5 stars "She's the Fun My Life Has Been Missing"
Verified PurchaseWe're getting enough characters in these interconnected stand alones that we may need a flow chart, but I’ll try to keep it simple. This book is Peach and Viktor's story and includes Peach's sister, Papaya, and their Meemaw. Peach is best friends and business partners with Joey (Joey and Zeus from The Pilot and the Puck-Up) and Viktor is head bodyguard for royal hockey player Manning (Gracie and Manning from Royally Pucked). To obtain legal custody of her sister, the Alabama judge orders Peach to get married, and yes, I’ve seen judges here in the south make some pretty crazy rulings, so that’s not too far fetched. Viktor has the opportunity to be king of the country from which his grandfather was dethroned, but Amoria law requires their king have a wife. Peach and Viktor may get on each other's last nerve, but they can be a solution for each other and keep things strictly business. You can likely already see how well that will work out.
This author is an auto preorder and auto “get my hands on an advance copy" so the scales may be tipped in favor of me viewing her work in a positive light, but it’s because she’s truly a fantastic writer. If a queen of romantic comedy were being crowned, I'd be hard pressed to not plop the tiara firmly on Grant's witty, humorous head. Every new book is better than the last, and I’m in awe of her ability to continue to create such delightfully entertaining stories. No one does antics, shenanigans and comedic errors quite like this author, from legwarmers for llamas and charming crumbling castles to purloined hot air balloons and everything coming up, well, hearts, there’s never a dull moment.
Of course, these characters are just as endearing as the others have been and quickly find their way into the reader's heart. (Seriously, there are a lot of hearts!) I loved Viktor's upper crust narration, and how he seemed all serious, stoic and kingly, but his compassion, huge heart, a sense of humor he kept closely guarded and his hint of vulnerability are what really made the character for me. And between Peach and her younger sister Papaya, never mind his kingly duties, Viktor really has his hands full. Papaya is a good-hearted, out of control teenager, and Peach has her own set of challenges. Moving from Alabama to the country of Amoria doesn’t really change any of that. “You can take the girl out of the trailer park, but you can’t take the trailer park out of the girl" seems to be a motto ingrained in Peach and she's always had to work harder to make a success of things. It also doesn't help that she had a lesson in trusting men when she was fifteen, and she's believed that all men are untrustworthy ever since. She's her own worst enemy because it keeps her from seeing the good in her or the good things she has accomplished.
It’s always an adventure to read a Grant book, and this is no exception. I never know where the journey will take me, but I know it will be great fun. These characters are complex and immensely endearing. The storyline is engaging and entertaining, and I was right there with Peach and Viktor, page by page, pulling for their happily ever after. With an abundance of non-food-or-beverage-consuming, laugh-out-loud moments, the perfect amount of kingly and sassy southern hotness, and a ton of happy-sigh inducing heart, this book is royally worthy of a 1-Click!
