    Fantastic second read from this author! The build to the climax with an unforeseen twist, which does not leave you disappointed, was delightful and well done. The glimpses into the present day keeps you pondering and looking for “clues” as you learn the forbidden love story between Sarina and Javier.

    SD Hendrickson is a brilliant story teller. Even though many authors use the jumping from present to past method to build suspense, Hendrickson just gave a glimpse of the present and expertly used previous events to raise many "who done it" questions as it seems so many people had a motive. Furthermore, the many little bread crumbs left in certain scenes was a nice touch.

    The love triangle, the focus and drive of Sarina to achieve her goals, the family challenges and the conflicts with the Hawks were expertly used to create a very entertaining story. Even though I expected who the culprit was, the backlash from a key event was unexpected and turned the story into a different direction. The story was expertly wrapped up and showcases that internal strenght is key to overcome the worst of events.
