Jace Logan's smooth, deep voice and devastating good looks have made him a rock legend. He’s seen and done it all, but he’s never forgotten what—or rather, who—inspired him in the first place. Nearly twenty years later, the young singer who’d touched his very soul is still in his thoughts. In every song he writes. And she has no idea, because she disappeared from the music scene before he ever had a chance to tell her.

When he and his band fly to LA to lay down some new tracks, he feels an instant and unnerving connection to the woman handling their upcoming tour. She’s beautiful, business-savvy, and oddly familiar. Unfortunately, she’s also proving frustratingly impervious to his charms.

Eva D’Agolino’s job is to make people famous, and she’s damn good at it – probably because she was once part of the rock and roll life herself. These days, she prefers working behind the curtain instead of center stage. The cruel lessons she learned firsthand make it easy to keep things strictly professional, even around sexy, confident rock gods who don’t like to be told no.

Well, most of the time, anyway.

When Eva’s personal life begins to crumble, Jace is there to pick up the pieces. Denying him completely proves impossible, especially when he’s so good at giving her exactly what she needs. But she’s no fool. She’s already been down that road and knows how the song ends.

Can Jace convince Eva he’s more than just the rock star she unknowingly created, and that theirs is truly a love song for the ages?

Rockstar Romeo is my very first book by Abbie Zanders and is part of the Cocky Hero Club world.

Eva D’Agnolino is in her mid thirties, lives in Los Angeles, and is a partner in the Backstage Pass Record Studios. She is also the single mother to twin eighteen year old boys. Eva tends to be more the behind the scenes person at work. But her partner, Ross, needs to be out of town and one of their biggest clients, the rock band Dark Wing, is in LA for a few months to record an album and take a break from touring. So Eva has to take point in taking care of them.

Eva has experience with bad boy rock Gods. Experience that has left her broken hearted and hesitant to trust. So when the lead singer of Dark Wing starts to make his interest known to her, she is steadfast in turning him down. She knows his type and she’s not interested. No matter how gorgeous he is.

Jace Logan is lead singer in Dark Wing. They are a world famous band that has been riding the highs of success for a very long time. Jace may have explored the wilder side of being a rock star many years ago when he was much younger. He is thirty eight years old now and that’s not the man either he or his band mates are. As soon as he laid eyes on the beautiful Eva, he knew he needed to get to know her if only she’d give him the chance. At the same time, there is something hauntingly familiar about her. Something he just can’t put his finger on. He’d figure it out eventually. And he is a persistent man. He won’t give up on convincing her to give him a chance.

“I wanted to make her mine, the way I was already hers.”

Jace is indeed persistent and Eva can’t ignore the pull between them for long. But, she’s determined to keep her heart out of it. He’s only in town for a few months. Then he’s back on the road with all the fans and groupies. She will enjoy what Jace has to offer while he is here. When he leaves, she’ll have the memories to keep her warm.

“Jace Logan was temptation personified.”

These two were so perfect together. I have to admit that even though I understood her reasons, Eva frustrated me with her lack of trust. I wanted her to talk to Jace, share her fears. But she just decided on her own what would be best for both of them. One thing they didn’t lack in is scorching chemistry. Jace made me melt like a puddle of melted ice cream. He was so swoony. The things he did. He was so good to Eva.

This was such a sexy, sweet story. I loved that Jace and Eva were mature adults and behaved as such. Jace knew what he wanted and didn’t hesitate to get it. Eva’s lack of trust, both in herself and in Jace, was due to history. She wasn’t going to let her history repeat itself. The ending was sweet and adorable. I’m reading rock star romance this month and I am glad that I decided to include this one.

This is part of a series that isn't a series. It's a shared universe situation where any of the surrounding couples might have come from some other authors' stories. There were a handful of happy couples in this story who felt like leftovers from such stories. I found it annoying.

This story was mostly okay for quite a while. You have to take Jace's instalove as a given, but I didn't mind that because I kind of liked Eva. She has a strong sense of herself and a sense of purpose. She has a job she likes and finds fulfilling. So she doesn't put up with nonsense and makes Jace work for being in her life. The worst part about her is that she has a silly negative motivation* built around her one failed relationship. But it was so silly, that I ignored it.

But then, it turns out that I ignored a lot of stuff for a long time. And I'm trying to make up some excuse for why I would do that but I got nothing. She's the mother of twin 18 year-olds and hasn't had a date, let alone "relations" with anyone since before they were born. Which would indicate a degree of emotional stunting (or isolation) that doesn't show up in her character at all. But the interactions with Jace were where fluid enough that I just went along anyway.

I don't know what I was thinking because that's only the most obvious example of the things that don't hold together under any kind of inspection. What I do know is that it all came crashing down near the two-thirds mark where Eva pulls a completely stupid dark moment out of her nethers with a "for his own good" kicker. And then I hate-finished the book from there because she then gets even worse.

I'm giving this a second star because it managed to entrance me past all the things that didn't work or make sense. That's some talent there, so props. Okay, I lied (you already knew that because the star ratings show up first, but let's pretend you're surprised). One star if only because the epilogue has them with the baby-making after her twins left home already. And not because they started up the baby-having, but because it was this completely expected thing that blew right past any reason why they would/did and moved right to the "this is what happy looks like so obvs".

A note about Steamy: There's explicit sex, but I left this review too long to remember more than that it was in the middle of my steam tolerance, though barely. I gotta say, Eva sure is a quick study for someone who only had one partner before Jace and that nearly two decades in the past...

* Negative Motivations: I kind of hate that the term "negative motivation" isn't widespread, yet. Since it isn't, I'm going to save off this little jag to append to my reviews that feature the term. Jennifer Crusie blogged about it a bit back (or, if that link doesn't work, here's a cache of the original) and it changed how I understand story. The problem with the term is that if you've never heard it before, you'd assume it meant motivations that are harmful or immoral. Not so. What it refers to is motivations not to do something. The thing is that many of us are motivated to not do things for a lot of different, perfectly valid and reasonable, reasons. The problem is that in a story motivations to not do things are a huge drag on the plot—particularly considering the fact that most negative motivations are overcome by the character simply deciding they don't care any more (or, rather, that they do care and are now motivated to do the thing). So not only do you have a counter to action but you also have a situation where to overcome it, all a character has to do is change their mind. Which means eventually, the reader is rooting for the character to get over him/herself already and do the thing we want them to do. Conflict drives story. Conflict between a reader and a main character drives readers away from story.

I really enjoyed this rockstar romance.
Eva D’Angolino is a single mom and a hard working music promoter. She has tried to leave her past behind but is definitely traveling life with some emotional baggage in tow.
She knows first hand the dangers of being in the limelight and being involved with someone in the limelight and she is over that!

Rock star, Jace Logan is at the top of his career and riding that wave. He immediately falls (and hard!) for Eva even before he realizes who she is (or was). But has his work cut out for him convincing the woman who has been burned before to join him in the fire.

Rockstar Romeo was one I could dive right into and a pretty quick, easy read with a story that moved right along and kept me invested from start to finish.

Magic!💥

Loved this new to me author's book which now lives in the expansive Cocky Hero World. I love a good rockstar romance and this was certainly one I really enjoyed getting into.

It was so much fun to watch the sexy, front man of popular rock band, Dark Wing, lose his mind over the woman in charge of his career . Funny thing was, she didn't fall at his feet like most would, because most would not turn down an invitation to spend some one on one time with a guy like him. Self assured? YES. Persistent- absolutely! Does he get what he wants? Not unless he has to really work for a chunk of her time and of course, her respect. He has a plan for some major wooing and wow, he was so good at that!

This book had it all for me- humor and tenderness- necessary ingredients when the woman in question has been burned long ago and paid the price for trusting the wrong man. Now Jace will have to prove to Eva that not all musicians are created the equally. Old fears die hard, so he needs to be creative to get her attention and hopefully her love as well!

Jace Logan and Eva's undeniably hot and steamy chemistry, her cool kids, the washed up ex and the appearance of crossover characters from another book I've already enjoyed in the past, combined for a great story.

That swoony, funny fairytale-ish ending was a fantasy that most woman would dream about for a very long time! Jace was a charmer with a heart of gold and he found his match in Eva.

I was looking forward to reading this story. It’s been a while since I read a rockstar story and I wasn’t disappointed with this story.

Jace is the lead singer in a band. Eva is a single mum to twins and the promoter of his band. When Jace met Eva he thought he knew her from somewhere but couldn’t remember. Eva has been hurt in the past and doesn’t want to get hurt again.

I absolutely adored this story.

Another excellent story to add to the Cocky Hero Club Universe!!

Rockstar Romeo was one of those stories that just makes you smile on the inside. The normal cliche rockstar shenanigans don't happen here and I very much appreciated that, not only because it's refreshing to not read predictable stories, but also because the age of these rockers fit the storyline perfectly. So, thank you Abbie Zanders for doing this story right!

The only thing I could not wrap my head around was Eva's body image insecurities. I get where they might have come from, but unless I was reading the story incorrectly, the trigger came from a situation involving her ex and it was almost 20 years in the past ... I'm not trying to downplay body image insecurities by any means, I'm just simply stating that the narrative in this particular instance made me #twitchy *shrug*

BUT I LOVED THIS STORY LOL

Sweet and sexy love story!

Jace will soon be your next book boyfriend! He has it all, good looks, sexy voice and is sweet as can be.

Eva is a single mom of twins who was burned in a past relationship. She has worked hard to get where she has, a great body and job. She’s strong but is afraid to let herself fall in love with Jace.

Together, Jace and Eva have to work through doubts and fears to find happiness.

Such a great story! I fell in love with the characters and all their flaws right from the start. I’m a sucker for a sweet love story.

What an engaging story! I have been avoiding rock stars books for a good few years now, cause I grew tired of the crazy lifestyle and all that jazz, but this book is more mature in that way, thank God for small mercy lol
I also really liked the storyline and the characters. Jace is such an amazing character and I love how he is with Eva.

I can't remember the last time I read a rockstar romance. I haven't been drawn to them in recent times but when I picked up Zander's contribution to the Club. I found myself drawn to the rock n roll world.

It's nice to see older characters in this story. Both of them rich and full of life experience to the industry. Eva is a mum to two young men and has a lot of baggage but she is killer at her job. She doesn't mix business with pleasure and she knows it first handed how the lifestyle is . Eva thinks she made the right decision to walk away when she was yong but Jace is tempting her hard.

Jace has lived the lifestyle and now he wants more then the high life. He wants to find the woman and thinks he has , Eva. Their paths crossed when she is tasked looking after them when her partner is unavailable. Not realising that they have shared history. It's a second chance Jace thought he would never have. He literally build his career around her and it's sweet.

With a lot on the line for them both , it's nice to see a romance where they take their time. They know the score and don't rush things. Jace was the perfect way for Eva to realise that her past shouldn't stop her. He was the rock she needed to sort out her life and find a future for herself now that her boys were young men.
Zander wrote a sound rockstar romance and definitely will be checking out more of her books in the future.

I love Rockstar romances, and this one was just PERFECT. It was emotional, sexy, beautiful, full of second chances and hope.. Plus I loved how our characters were in their middle 30's and had actual life experiences. This was just such an honest romance between two beautiful people!!

So Eva used to be part of the rockstar scene, but since she became pregnant with her twin boys and her ex stomped on her heart, she stepped away and focused on raising her babies. She now works for the company that promotes the band Dark Wing, and even though her heart is guarded, there is just something about the lead singer, Jace, that just draws her in.. But will she be able to let go of her fears of the past repeating itself and let herself fall in love?

Jace is a cocky rockstar (aren't they all, lol) but he's not a cliche drugged up, alcoholic rock star that hooks up with groupies whenever he can. He's older, knows what he wants in his life, and knows that he wants Eva. There something so familiar about her, but he just can't place it. He really gives his all in wooing her, and trust me: this man is totally swoon worthy!

This isn't your usual rockstar romance, but that's what makes it so amazing. I can't recommend this book enough!!

**I received an ARC of this book and these are my honest opinions!**

I wasn't sure what to expect in Rock Star Romeo. While I'm not a big fan of the rock star genre, I am a huge fan of Abbie Zanders. She nailed this one. Both Jace Logan and Eva D'Agolino are so richly complex, vibrant and genuinely likeable. Their love story just made me feel good. I loved it!

Never let it be said that Jace Logan didn't have a healthy ego. After all, didn't all rock stars? But behind that ego lies a man who, at 38, is ready for love and all that goes with it. Eva D'Agolino has the family, had the love and was burned by it and is not interested in anything to do with a rock star except business-wise. Both Jace and Eva feel the attraction but she resists while he persists. An elusive memory ties Eva to Jace's career and success. That remembrance makes Jace know that Eva is his forever love. Getting Eva on board is another matter all together. Dare she trust give her heart to Jace? Can they have a happily ever after?

Oh God! I've volunteered to review this book for United Indie Book Blog. I love to read books from Abbie Zanders. Rock Star Romeo is in the Cocky Hero Club series. This is Jace and Eva's story. Eva is a single mom, who is also his promoter for the band. Jace is the lead singer in a rock band. When Jace first met Eva, he felt like he knew her from somewhere. But couldn't place from where yet. Eva was burned in a past relationship. Once Jace realized where he knew Eva from. Oh God, the chemistry was off of the charts! I love how Abbie was able to get us to see how actions in the past can impact not only your future but that of others too. Can Jace get Eva to see that they are so perfect for each other? You will have to get this one and see for yourself. I couldn't stop reading. I had to know what would happen. I HIGHLY recommend reading Rock Star Romeo. Keep up the amazing work. I can't wait to read more from this author.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Eva is a single mother of teenage twin boys, works for an entertainment management company and wants nothing to do with Jace Logan. Jace Logan is the lead singer of the band. When Jace lays eyes on Eva he is hit deja vu but cannot remember how he knows her (great memory when he does).
A few nights before her sons leave for the summer to go on tour with their father, Eva comes home and realizes the friends she realizes the friends she thought her boys had over were actually Jace and a bandmate. Eva's walls come down and she and Jace get closer. Each chapter begins with a note and advice from Dear Ida. It took a few chapters to get used to that, but once I did I had several laughs over Ida's honesty.
Great book and I read it in a day.

Rock Star Romeo gripped me from the very first page, ensuring I would devour this one in a single sitting. Without a doubt, it’s a must-read for fans of rock star romances.

Rock Star Romeo ensured I fell in love with the characters from the start, leaving me eager to see how their story played out. It hit all the feels throughout, ensuring each chapter sucked me deeper into their story. With plenty of emotion packed into the pages, I could not get enough and was desperately devouring all the details.

If you’re looking for a gripping rock star romance, this addition to the Cocky Hero Club is well worth the read.

Wow! What a fantastic story, I liked that the couple were older and there was a lot of steamy encounters. Their path to their HEA doesn’t run smoothly and you can’t help routing for them to work it all out. It was a nice touch the questions asked to the advice columnist (Eva’s cousin). Jace makes mistakes but he quickly tries to figure out how to fix them.it was great that we were given a glimpse into their lives a few years down the road. I would definitely recommend this book. I was given an arc. This is my honest review.

Holy moly this book is excellent. I thoroughly enjoyed this book by Abbie Zanders who was a new author to me. I love a rockstar romance and I wasn’t disappointed with this love story. Eva a single mum burned in the past with lots of emotional baggage is the promotional manager of a band who Jace plays with. He is cocky and knows what he wants and that is Eva but as we follow their love story we follow the ups and downs of loving someone famous. This book is my favourite so far from The Cocky Hero Club. A definite five star read. I received this book as an arc for my honest opinion.

I really enjoyed this book. Was unsure what to expect due to the fact that many o the Abbie Zanders books I have previously read have had a degree of suspense and drama. However as usual Abbie Zanders put together great characters that work well together, have some trauma that needs to worked through (especially the heroine) they manage to work things out in the end. Highly recommend reading this story, a great change of pace :)

I can always count on Abbie Zanders for a really good story. Rock Star Romeo is part of the Cocky Heroes Club series. I laughed, cried, and lost sleep. The story is sexy and sweet. Jack and Eva will charm you, and you won’t be able to put the book down! Jack is a cocky rock star who is sure of himself. Eva is a string lady that makes him work for it. The result is worth its weight in gold.

This is one of those stories that once you start you're held captive and the next thing you know your at the end. Abbie give us a wonderful read that is packed with steam and and angst. Loved that Jace was willing to be patience with Eva who had a tainted view of romance due to her past.

When I signed up for this book I was excited, but when I received this along with some other arcs, I was hesitant due to the fact that I had a bad run of arcs leading up to this so I left it for last. And what a gem this book turned out to be.

I was pleasantry surprised by Abbie Zanders since she was a new to me author and I didn't know what to really expect. Zanders writing was so refreshing to me, the rhythm of the words flowed on the page so effortlessly that it was almost poetic, after so many stilted examples from the books I've read in the last month. I started the book around midnight, thinking I'll read a couple of chapters, get a feel for the book and the story and go to bed. I couldn't be more wrong. I stayed up all night and finished this gem in one sitting.

Eva and Jace's story was so warm and heartfelt that it felt a contented feeling in me after the last page. There was drama and angst and demons to overcome but there were also fun, funny and sexy moments to balance out the drama. I loved the connection between the main characters and especially Jace's connection to Eva and how that shaped his life without her knowing. I loved Jace's dedication once he found Eva and even more I loved the fact that this wasn't another story about and entitled rock star manwhore who sees an attractive woman that says no to him and thus he has to make her his. His feelings and intentions towards Eva were more subtle and profound and that was amazing. I also loved Eva's character development. Her background was rich and through the curveballs life threw her she persevered, fought and made a life that she could be proud of in spite of past mistakes.

Rock Star Romeo was a very enjoyable read that will get its hooks in you from the very first chapter and won't let go until you reached the final page. It was one of the best additions to the Cocky Hero Club universe and I say that having read quite a few of the entries that have already come out.
on in what could be called chapter titles that Abbie Zanders gave in this books. It was freaking genius and warmed my heart with the connection to the Stuck-Up Suit from which Rock Star Romeo originated.

With a past as rich as that sinful piece of chocolate cake, Eva D'Agolino is so over the rock star scene. She'd lived that life and has the sons to prove it. Years later, she has a successful, stable life that isn't laden with groupies, drugs and sex.
Her wills are tested when she meets Rockstar Romeo, Jace Logan. Jace is caughr between a rock and a hard place when it comes to Ms. D'Agolino. She is convinced that a man that smells as delicious as he does fully embodies the rockstar lifestyle. She certainly isn't about to fall for that again.
Jace Logan is an enigma, he's successful and yeah, he has had his fair share of women, but he's grown already and an easy lay isn't what he is about anymore, he's matured. Now his sights are on the tempting Ms. D'Agolino and he will everything in his power to get her to give him a chance.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book by Abbie Zanders. In Rockstar Romeo, we have 30 somethings that have already had a rich life and know the consequences. It feels real, honest and relatable. I thoroughly enjoyed the witty banter and the tenacity of both main characters. I highly recommend. Rockstar Romeo is part of the Cocky Hero Club. This book is a stand-alone novel and can be ready in any particular order.

I have been a fan of this author since the Callaghan series. There is just something magical about how here characters all feel that certain something that connects them. It isn't cheesy like a normal instant-love type connection either. It appeals to me on a visceral level which made me excited to know that she was writing in this world because I knew she could do it justice.

Rockstar romances are hit and miss for me, but I knew that with her special brand of something that she could do it justice. I was correct in that assumption because I fell in love with Jace and Eva. It was refreshing to see all the Ask Ida advice as these two came to terms with their connection and their love. This book would have rated higher without Ian in the mix. I didn't understand why he was even needed at all to the story especially with what he wanted after this many years. It just didn't make sense. Jace and Eva had enough to pull them through towards a HEA while just dealing with the issues Eva had. Just my opinion. This was a great addition to the Cocky Club World.

I love a good Rock Star story. This book had me so involved in the story, I didn’t want to put it down. Ms. Zanders did a wonderful job creating the characters of Eva and Jace. I enjoyed reading about a caring Rock Star that may be a little cocky, but had so much heart. I felt bad for Eva when she was younger and the things that happened to her. I thought she was a strong woman now. Of course like all of us, people’s actions can affect us our whole life. This is what happened to Eva and made it hard for her to trust. My heart melted at how Jace slowly showed Eva she could trust him. I felt sorry for Eva’s ex and how he let drugs and his over inflated ego tear him down. I loved the story and strongly encourage you to read the book. I was given a copy of the book and voluntarily wrote a review.

Rock Star Romeo has me head over heels in love with Jace Logan. This is a story that takes you on a journey from a love that is soul deep and one that has been the rhythm to his heart for years. When you have been searching for that one person, the beat to your heart, the other half of your soul and fate finally gives you the chance, what do you do, everything within your power to make her see that she is your one. Eva has had her heart shattered in the past and she carries this with her building a wall around her heart to keep it safe, however Jace is determined to knock those walls down and show her she is his everything. An emotional love story that is passionate, steamy, witty and overflowing with drama. A huge five star read in the cocky hero world that will have you never wanting to leave this story.

Music promotion may be her business, but Eva has learnt the hard way that getting personally involved with a musician is a recipe for heartache. The last thing she is going to do is get involved with Jace, her client, despite the fact that she is drawn to him in a way that goes far beyond her attraction to him.

Jace has achieved professional success that exceeds anything he could have dreamed but hasn’t found a woman to share his life with yet. From their first meeting with Eva he feels that he knows her and even if he can’t remember how the one thing he knows is that he wants to be part of her life and now he just needs to convince her.

Two compelling characters and a captivating and emotional storyline make this a story you won’t be able to put down.

Disclaimer: I received an Advance Reader Copy at no cost from the publisher/author. All opinions in my review are my own.

I have really been enjoying the Cocky Hero Club books that I have had the chance to read. When I read the blurb for this book I knew that I had to read it. I was hooked from the start with this one. I really connected with the characters and I loved their journeys. There is plenty of emotion tucked into the pages of this story. If you are looking for a story that will put a smile on your face then pick this one up! I can't wait for more from the Cocky Hero Club world!
