Filthy Firefighter: A Hero Club Novel Kindle Edition
When the smoke clears and my eyes focus on my savior, one look at his gorgeous face and tattoo-covered muscles, I know he’ll be too much for me to handle. It’s a good thing I never have to see him again, right?
Except, losing my home to a fire means finding somewhere new to live, and guess who just happens to be my new roommate? Hayden Flynn. The filthy-talking firefighter who’s been front and center of all of my dreams lately.
Our attraction is undeniable, but it’s the adventures he takes me on that has me falling for him, each new experience chipping away at the wall I’ve been hiding behind.
He wasn’t supposed to see past my scars.
He wasn’t supposed to break me apart piece by piece, then put me back together again.
He was just supposed to be a firefighter. I didn’t expect him to end up saving my life, in more ways than one.

- Reviewed in Australia on 2 June 2020So after devouring Filthy Firefighter in one sitting my first thought as I turn the last page is, how do I go about getting my own filthy firefighter to come to my rescue. Hayden and Adele’s story takes us into the world of Cocky Bastard and if you thought Chance stole your heart, believe me when I say Hayden will grab hold of it and never let go. An emotional story that is packed with humour, compassion and a chemistry so strong it will set you on fire. Theirs is a story that will take you on a journey of self discovery and one of a love so strong that nothing will stand in the way. A beautifully written book that takes you on a ride of highs and lows as Hayden shows Adele the beauty and strength he sees deep in her soul.

*TRIGGER WARNING*
*ARC received in exchange for an honest review*
Emma Louise delivered a fantastic, easy to read, romance novel that focused on ‘taboo’ subject matter, that was raw, emotional and heartfelt. Filthy Firefighter is Emma’s contribution to the Cocky Hero Book Club world and one you don’t want to miss. Filthy Firefighter delves into the life of ex-addict Adele and what it is like trying to get her life back on track, whilst living with demons of her past. Hayden is the cocky, sexy hero who turns into more than she was anticipating. This book touches on the impacts of life post addiction including the strain it has on relationships, families and the person as well and comes with a trigger warning for anyone who finds this a tough subject. Overall, I adored this book, the main characters had chemistry, friendship and banter, although I didn’t like the abrupt ending. The story was well developed, I just hate that it ended like it did and the epilogue was more like an ending. Overall, I would recommend to any romance fan.
Enjoy Everyday,
Ebook Enthusiast 😊
- Reviewed in Australia on 1 June 2020Wow! I absolutely loved this book. It was a heart-warming and emotional story. I loved how Hayden was able bring Adele slowly out of her comfort zone and allow the true Adele to shine by leaving her demons behind.
This book has chemistry, drama, forgiveness, unconditional love and a hot guy in a uniform but most of all it has Pixie.
I don't want this story to end.
I received a ARC of this book for a honest review. This was a 5+ star for me. I can see why this book is part of the Cocky Hero Club
- Reviewed in Australia on 31 May 2020Emma gave an amazing story to Del and Hayden, I always wanted to see where Del's story went. She captured my interest after Chance goes to jail to protect her. As someone who works in the AOD industry, Emma gave a realistic vision into the guilt and thoughts associated to addiction. It's sad, captivating, sweet and a little angsty at times. Hayden is perfect for her, he gives her the love she deserves while finding happiness he never expected. It's swoony worthy, a great addition to the club!
- Reviewed in Australia on 28 June 2020This book so so great the two characters were so good together that they made each other better. How could a sexy fireman not make life better? I just love how all these books keep giving us more insight into other characters from the original book that started this great series.

5.0 out of 5 stars Filthy mouthed, tattooed hotness, just what I like
Verified PurchaseHoly hotness batman! That was one heck of a ride. I have started making my way through the Cocky Hero Club books and this beautifully written, emotional rollercoaster is by far my favourite.
Although I haven't read Cocky Bastard to get Chance and Aubrey's story, I really didn't need to to feel every ounce of pain and guilt Adele is riddled with for the choices she made and the impact they had on her loved ones.
Hayden is delicious. If he were real is be tempted to become a pyromaniac just to get a glimpse at his perfection. A cocky (in all senses of the word) hot as sin, adrenaline junkie, tattooed, firefighter, who is also loving, caring and sweet as sugar. If you believe in unicorns, this man is the ultimate.
Adele has been through he'll and has fought hard to come out the other side, tough as nails but riddled with self doubt, she deserves the love Hayden gives her, but it takes something big happening for her to believe it.
Emma Louise was a new to me author, and I absolutely fell in love with her writing style and her words, I literally couldn't out this book down, phenomenal. I will certainly be checking out her back catalogue.

5.0 out of 5 stars Charming Firefighter, Damsel in distress and GOATS
Verified PurchaseI'm so happy that Emma was able to write such a beautiful story about Adele , Chance's little sister, from Cocky Bastard by Vi Keeland! Adele trying to navigate the world and who she really is saved by Hayden - a charming sexy firefighter who is enamored by Adele. Who wants nothing but to help her live again!
Lots of laughter and a few tears, this book doesn't disappoint! Worth every $$$
Also please check out the playlist at the end... you will love it! Now if someone could make this into a movie please 🙏

5.0 out of 5 stars quick, hot and sexy read with a ton of heart = just what I needed right now
Verified Purchase4.5 stars
I have been struggling to find my reading mojo lately, and Filthy Firefighter is exactly what I needed to break out of the funk! Hayden is everything that makes me swoon: funny, charming, flirty, sexy as hell with those tats and blond surfer good looks- not to mention a Southern accent-all wrapped up around a wonderful heart with a filthy mouth.
Adele has had a rough life since moving to the States, and she is mired down by the guilt of her past actions and choices. Everything she has done in the past few years has been with the mindset of doing what she thinks will make her brother's life easier or what a respectable person would do in order to follow a safe path. She keeps everyone at arms length at work and chooses a gorgeous man as her boyfriend who is nice but doesn't make her feel in danger of losing control. When he casually mentions proposing, her ensuing panic and sense of dread cause her to finally take a chance on stepping away from the safe zone to find a different path in life.
As soon as she meets Hayden for the first time, she knows she is going to fail miserably in her attempts to avoid lowering her walls or losing her heart to this man. He is determined to help her break out of her shell, and with every challenge she rises to, he finds himself falling just a little bit more as well. They have more in common than they realize, but his slow and steady pursuit along with his ability to read her like no other eventually wins Adele over. Once she finally gets over her fear of losing his respect by revealing her past to him, she panics and tries to push him away. Fortunately he doesn't intend to let her go so easily, but by the time she pulls her head out of her butt and pulls up her big girl panties, it may just be too late as life throws them a curveball.
I loved seeing Chance, Aubrey and Pixy the goat again as we get a glimpse into their current life after their HEA. New characters introduced like Janey and Parker (or maybe Preston, not sure if they were the same person who experienced a name change or 2 different people) were great secondary characters, and I need to go back to find out if Hayden's friend Duke has a story of his own in the author's prior books. The only minor detraction points for me were mostly editing/ timeline issues . All in all, this book was just what my heart needed right now and I am sitting here with a goofy smile on my face as I am typing this reliving all the wonderful moments!

4.0 out of 5 stars Hayden is HOT!
Verified PurchaseFilthy is right.
I enjoyed this quick read about a sexy AF firefighter and the beautiful Adele Bateman. She is the sister of Chance from Cocky Bastard. Remember him? I sure do - I loved him. And we get to see Aubrey and him in this story quite a bit. I was very happy about that.
What else I was happy about, was one Hayden Flynn...southern man who says darlin’ just the right amount of times, who has muscles and tattoos galore, is a brave firefighter, and has a delicious dirty mouth.
Adele finds herself needing to be rescued from a burning house. Enter Hayden. He bravely busts through the door, grabs her, and gets her to safety. When she opens her eyes and sees her savior, even under the circumstances, there’s no denying the instant attraction between them.
No names or numbers were exchanged, because they’ll never see each other again after this, right?
Wrong.
Imagine the shock and surprise from both of them when they do meet again. And that was quite the meeting, I must say. *waggling my eyebrows*
I loved their chemistry, the sexual tension was thick. Their witty banter was adorable and fun and made me like these two that much more.
I really, really wish there would’ve been more between chapter 24 and the epilogue. I loved the epilogue, but I wanted & needed more after chapter 24. That being said, I still enjoyed this story.
Filthy Firefighter is a great addition to the Cocky Hero Club world. It gave me smiles, laughs, and tingles. This was my first book by this author and I look forward to reading more!
*I listened to the first half of this on audio, which was great - the narrators were perfect.
